My sister and I visited this little Asian diner for the first time last weekend. We were really impressed! It seemed like they do a lot of takeout orders, but they had a nice amount of seating in the restaurant as well, which we took them up on. The cashier doubled as our server and he was wonderful. I ordered the sesame chicken and my sister had the orange chicken. We were both given huge servings and at a reasonable price. The flavors were great and everything was hot and fresh. I would not hesitate to return next time I'm in the area!

Me and my family came to eat here and it's the best Chinese food I've ever tried! The service was polite and kind and even offered us recommendations. The ambiance was friendly and everything seemed clean. We got ENORMOUS bowls of food with a good price. We loved everything about this place and anyone hating on it just doesn't know how to value good quality food.

This has been our go-to Chinese restaurant for four years now! We love the hot and sour soup, and the orange chicken is a classic. Service is always polite and efficient, and we've never had to wait very long. The interior is always clean and we feel very comfortable there!

Such a great spot for both lunch or dinner! Each time I've frequented this restaurant, the food is always delicious and portions are very generous. I love that they offer lunch specials thru the weekend. Lunch is served with an egg roll and fried rice is $2 extra. My go to is the Mongolian Beef. Very tender & flavorful served with a good amount of meat and love the mushrooms! My only complaint is the pricing. My lunch total with fried rice is almost $13, which seems more like dinner pricing to me. The restaurant is small & clean and offers a few high top table as well as booths. Not the cheapest option but food is great!

This place is amazing. If you read a bad review it is not true. The staff is super nice and very attentive to details. I order two appetizers and within 5mim one came out after the other, hot fresh off the stove. Shortly after my chicken pad Thai and orange chicken with fried rice came out hot and ready to enjoy. The food was seasoned and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend 12 out of 10. 8/10/2025 this is amazing!

We tried this restaurant based on reviews. It's in the corner of a strip mall. Compact dining room with soft colors. Friendly staff. Order and pay at counter then food is delivered to table. Fresh veggies/ingredients. Delicious flavors. Generous portions. We had the orange chicken, appetizer sampler, general tso and sesame chicken with lo mein and crab Rangoon. Delicious. Would return when in area.

This is a great Chinese take-out place. The food was so good, not super salty, and they have generous portions. They are reasonably priced and have an extensive menu with lots of vegetarian options. I loved everything I ordered, and will definitely order again.

Sweet and Sour Pork fans, skip this place unless you like dough balls with a tiny piece of pork in the center.

For years I have driven 25 minutes for takeout and never regretted it. High decor -No, limited selections -No, quiet -No, great food -Absolutely, incredibly friendly and pleasant staff -100%. Our typical order is a large General Chicken with extra sauce and Malaysian fun chow. The general chicken is perfectly breaded, deliciously flavored, slight bite and an uncious taste making you want more. The Malaysian fun chow has wok fried wide rice noodles with a hint of char, shrimp, bean sprouts, onions, veggies and a light but savory taste. Another home run! Don't let the exterior or inside decor persuade your judgement. Hands down the staff is second to none and the food is fabulous. Asian Cafe Express is an incredible value for the food quality and portion size. Trust me, if you give them a shot, you will also be ordering here for years. To the staff, fabulous job and thanks!

A Mesa Asian District Gem Worth Seeking Out…read more Asian Cafe Express is a lovely strip mall gem near H-Mart in Mesa's Asian District, and after 21 years in business, it clearly has a loyal following for good reason. We brought in a fresh lobster from H-Mart to try their "bring your own seafood" cooking option and chose the garlic onion stir fry preparation. It's $14.99 for anything under 2 lbs and $7.50/lbs for anything over. It came out excellent, served over crispy egg noodles with classic Asian flavors and plenty of wok-fired goodness. We also enjoyed the Peking pork ribs, which were deboned, tasty, and slightly sweet; the stir-fried green beans, which were fresh and well prepared; and the garlic spicy chicken wings, which were especially flavorful and highly recommended. The red bean drinks were traditional and satisfying, with soft, nicely soaked mung beans and no milk. Service was friendly, efficient, and personal, handled by a couple of ladies who clearly know the restaurant and their customers well. While we were there, plenty of regulars came in for takeout and several tables were happily dining in. Overall, we really enjoyed Asian Cafe Express and were surprised we had not stopped in sooner. Highly recommend, especially for the "bring your own seafood" cooking option and the garlic spicy wings. We will definitely be back.

The spicy is mild overall with a light chili spice on initial bite. It fades, so the dipping sauce was nice to have with it. The Xiao Long Bao were the winners of thee meal and would be why I go back. Easy to eat and tasty. I only wish the soup inside was a bit hotter. The Chicken Sheng Jian Bao was good, but the breading a little thicker than I personally like. This felt more like a dessert with the sesame bottom. Good taste, just heavy. Felt like we were rushed a bit and we're asked several times if we were done. There were empty tables, so that knocked it from the higher 3.5 side to the lower. Yelp is a flat star rating.
