Decided to try some new toppings today on their detroit style, which is what I always get. The sausage, green pepper and mushrooms were perfectly done. Service is always quick and Fat Chris never disappoints. Highly recommend and probably the best detroit style in Chicago.

Another restaurant near my business and how fortunate for me. The food's just great and the couple that own and run it are the very nicest, sweetest people! It's the only Chinese place within a mile. It beats to death the 2 others north of it past Lunt st. I love a number of dishes here having learned about them by breaking my --- stick with the 'tried and trues' rule. The reason i broke my rule was because Dragon Gate's so close that i eat here constantly, so i was forced to try other things fso that i wouldn't burn out, know what i mean Verne? My 'tried and true' rule is for places that i go to infrequently where i don't want to risk having a disappointing meal and i have a craving for some particular thing that i like there. Everything I've ever had from these wonderful folks has been good so I'm not afraid to try things. In fact, sometimes I'll request a special concoction or an extra this or that in the dish and it always turns out good. Their prices are very reasonable too. If you like Chinese food you won't be disappointed here! Things i especially like are pepper steak (with $2 of extra meat), pot stickers, combo fried rice with extra veggies, combo egg foo young (that's still great the next day when its egg foo old), curry dishes, teriaki chicken (all dark meat - yum, yum - a welcome relief from all the damned chicken breast everyone serves nowadays) and the list goes on.... Dragon Gate is primarily take out but there are a couple of tables for a quicky meal. Parking's good because this part of Clark st. is not packed with stores. There's nearly always a convenient spot right in front or across the street. They close at 9 pm and on Sunday's. I know someone's gonna soon notice that i give all 5 star reviews or i don't give one. That's because I'm easy to please and i don't much let small slights irritate me. It's especially true because i'm a businessman who tries to always give great service to my customers but because this is an imperfect world full of flawed people (especially me) cannot always do so. Like Ricky Nelson sang - ya can't please everybody, so ya've gotta please yasself. I don't want to suffer a bad review without a chance to right a wrong, so i give other businesses a lot of leeway to do so. Therefore when i encounter a flawed business but i see that the owners / managers are really trying to do it right, I'm not going to drop any stars and hurt them. However, if i think that they're not bustin' ass tryin', you'll hear me yelp about it from the throne, yessiree bob! But for right now, as a new yelper, I'm working from memory to review a place here and a place there, where i've really enjoyed things. Later, i'll probably pan a few dumps like everyone else, even though i prefer to stay positive because it's better for the bowels of an old geezer like me, know what i mean, Verne? read more

The eggrolls were also pretty good but I prefer a thin wrapper compared to thick just a personal preference same with the fried potstickers.
