Only a four becuz the hostess was not great. We arrived before they open on a Sunday. Their open time is 12 which I find late for Sunday but I think this is altered start time due to Covid. Anyway they were having a private party and people were spilling out of the restaurant just before stated open time. So we went to tell her we weee there for our reservation at noon. She had no personality in telling us it wasn't time yet. No instruction to wait anywhere or how we would be notified when they were ready. We walked around the marina and watched the boats coming and going which was nice. Then we went back to stand near the hostess so we would know when she was "ready". Another couple walked up, no reservation and she sat them at a table. Then she sat us. She sat to eat right after we were seated. Maybe she just needed some food to get some personality. But this was really our only complaint. Our waitresses were super, Kate we especially enjoyed. We had the lamb lollipops to start. My partner, a native Nee Zealander, and I think they are some of the best we have had. They were cooked perfectly, juicy and tasty served w no sauce or confinement's and they were not needed. The bisque was delicious. We are still framing of it. I almost drove down the following day in horrible weather to get it for takeout.I had the lobster roll which was good. Partner had mahi which was also delicious. Seating is outside in the tent right now which was comfortable on a drizzly rainy cool day. read more

I came here with one of my friends today for lunch and enjoyed every minute of it. The food was great, my server Liz was so sweet and helped me out with everything I needed. While Liz was over here talking to us too see if we wanted or needed anything else, the old gentleman at the front of the restaurant, rudely looked over and called her over to seat the people at the front of the restaurant. This is the second time I have seen this older man act this way towards our server while dining at this establishment. He was more then capable of seating those people himself. I will still come back to drift but he would definitely be the reason I wouldn't if I ever decided not too. No body treats there staff this way when there just doing the right thing. read more

We celebrated our wedding anniversary at Drift 82 on Thursday in the early evening. We both had Chilean Sea Bass. It was the best we ever had! Truly delicious! We sat at the bar. Very good. My first time here was for my mothers birthday. She wanted a restaurant on the water and I wanted to try something new. Really good food, really good options too. They have everything. If you're not into seafood there's plenty of other options. The prices were pretty good too. The view was very nice as well. All around just a great atmosphere. Worst place with TERRIBLE service. My husband and I stopped by on a week night for dinner. The restaurant was empty except for 1 other table and some people at the bar we SAT for HOURS! There was nothing going on there! I ordered a hot crab dip and it came with no crab- after an hour and a half. In trying to fix the issue, someone came with cold crab to add to the hot dip, which resulted in a lukewarm watery nightmare. Wildly overpriced and terribly disappointing. read more

We went in on Saturday 9/24 around 5ish, and we were told they were booked until 9pm. As I was standing at the host/hostess station we heard the gentleman tell someone on the phone they don't take reservations. I asked how are you booked until nine? He said we could go to the outside bar and order. That was fine. The four of us (2 couples) walked to the bar and the 2 male bartenders never made eye contact, never asked what we wanted, completely ignored us. At one point we were the only 4 left at the bar and they were taking people who were walking up. It was truly bizarre, I've never experienced such blatant rudeness. We weren't loud, we were patient. Finally we just walked out. Went to the Oar restaurant from there and they were fabulous!!! read more

My wife and I went to have a bite to eat and listen to some live music. We sat at the bar and were served by a kind and bubbly bartender named Lauren. She was spot on with her service and couldn't have been more friendly. The shrimp cocktail and lobster wontons were out of this world. Spent some time outside by the tiki bar listening to the live band, they also were very good. The water view was beautiful. I would highly recommend this place. read more

I like Drift, they have a good concept and I like the place. The great balls of fire app is so good. I go just for this and some other apps. It seems though that is all we will come for. My gf wasn't enamored of her fish tacos. She really didn't like them, leaving them on her plate. I had the lobster roll and my god, so little lobster compared to the bun. Look, there has to be proportion, and the lobster salad is overwhelmed by the New England style bun. I was pulling the roll apart just to get less bread and actually taste the lobster salad. They either need to up the portion of lobster salad, which looked skimpy in the bun or get a new smaller bun. I'll be back for a drink and some apps, but that will be all. read more

I was here for lunch with my girlfriend and found the food to be very good and the waiter extremely nice. He must have tried 4 times to level our table but in the end we just got up and moved since my glass kept sliding. Only drawback was that I called to see if they had outdoor dining and was assured they did. When we got arrived there were a few tables outside and we asked to eat there. I was told that they only open those tables up for people at night or on weekends. They did have ONE table that was close to the door that was sort of outside but that was taken. Over all everything was fine but in the summer eating good food outside on the water is a priority not being hot inside. read more

Came here tonight on a whim! We were met with valet parking so we thought we were too underdressed , no way. It was super casual with a separate building for the bar, although there's a small bar in the restaurant as well! The only reason for 4 stars is bc we didn't enjoy the spinach and artichoke dip and the lobster Mac and cheese just needed to be a little more al dente and add some bread crumbs :D other than that it was a really beautiful night and we had a great view. My husband and I tried to eat here for lunch today. Their website says walk ins for lunch dinner reservations. We get there and the manager tells us they are completely booked for the whole day. I told him it doesn't said that on your website. My husband then asks him if they always do reservations he told us yes which was a lie. We left the restaurant and followed us saying come back we told him no. He knew he was wrong and then came to get us only because he knows he just lost money from us. Bad management. read more

I took my mom here for Mothers Day lunch, all I can say is this restaurant was absolutely wonderful. We were greeted very kindly as we walked in and felt very much appreciated from the moment we stepped in the door to when we walked out. Drift 82 gives true definition to the expression "hidden gem". The food and atmosphere was fabulous. A few recommendations: The Scallops (favorite)- cooked to perfection, fresh and tasty over risotto The Seared Tuna- delicious again cooked excellent and fresh Clams on a half shell- fresh as can be Probably the best seafood restaurant in Patchogue and I have dined at them all many times! I really want to like this place. It's a wonderful location, right on the water in downtown Patchogue. The service was great but the food was some of the worst we have eaten. The steak sandwich was just nasty. It was like eating leather- very dry and no sauce. Not sure what happened when they prepared it. We also had 2 orders of the Mahi tacos that were Not good at all. We went at lunchtime so it wasn't very crowded. I think this place has incredible potential, hopefully the food gets better !! read more

Last evening my office had their Christmas party here. The atmosphere was perfect for a holiday gathering. It is cozy in the winter and it is fun and carefree in the summer. The staff and management are fun and pay attention to every detail. Our cocktail party with raw bar and passed finger foods was ideal for mixing and mingling with our clients. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking to have a holiday party or any party for that matter ! read more

I will start off by saying the waitress was wonderfully delightful. Everyone at the restaurant was very friendly. The food on the other hand was horrible. Their "award winning" lobster bisque looked like it was sitting out for an hour, there was only a small piece of lobster in it, and it had absolutely no taste. The salad that I ordered was not washed before serving, there was dirt in the greens. The restaurant is too overpriced to be making such mistakes. I will not be eating there again. read more

Was really unhappy with the restaurant. Menu was really overpriced and indoor dining area didn't have nice decor or vibe. Bread was stale, cold and no butter was offered. The hostess seated us at the worst high top in the restaurant when there were many better more comfortable tables to be seated in and had to ask to be moved. Baked clams were 6 small little necks with barely a bite worth of bread crumbs in them for 13 dollars and their fettuccine pasta had one scallop and three shrimp in it for 32$. Service was also slow and it wasn't that busy because it was towards the end of the night. They charge the customers a process fee on the card which is pretty obnoxious when they are already charging blackstone prices for half the quality of food and service with stingy portions. read more

Tried to come here today following social media which said first come first served and yet when I pulled up was rudely told it was fully booked with reservations. They told us and a couple before us that they were fully booked and need to update their website. When there are many empty tables on a Friday evening during this time you would think a restaurant would want the customers but apparently not here. He took the battery out of his own car and to see it was not the same battery he offered his own vehicle to go get another battery. We ultimately were able to get it started with his help. I am currently seated here with my family for dinner. We have been here for an hour and we only received our drinks so far. I overheard the hostess say earlier this evening that they don't want to overwork their staff but yet here we are and when I asked the server where the food was, he said that they were too pact in the kitchen with "4 parties" to feed. We are seated in the tent and they seated way too many people at one time. They need better communication. As for the food, they didn't even bring us our appetizer first. They came out right with the main course first. After a long talk with the manager, the waiter mistook our order and they ended up giving us the appetizer for free. The menu wasn't specific enough but the food was good. Our table was so small that one of our plates fell off of it. They had good portion sizes though. Basically everyone in my family finished. My last complaint was that there was a man behind my table vaping and no one seemed to have an issue with it. This was recommended to us from a friend, but quite frankly I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, at least not right now. Do better Drift 82 read more
