Good overall dining experience at Drifters kitchen & bar. Drifters has a nice atmosphere and a nice selection of tables and booths. Sat in the back area and found that to be a nice open and welcoming location. There are a lot of windows and garage doors back in this area so I'm sure when the weather gets nice and those are opened it's a fantastic outdoor eating experience. Server was quick to come around and engage throughout the meal. I went with the Nashville chicken based on some of the reviews I read. It was cooked well and had a nice hot flavor to it. It tended to have more of a Tabasco flavor than a true Nashville hot flavor, but it was good. It came on a brioche roll. It was toasted and quite thick. It was too big to eat it all so half of it had to come back with me. The sandwich comes with coleslaw. It's a very small portion in a plastic cup. You get a choice of sides to choose from. One of the sides is the sweet potato fries. So I went with those. They were good. But, what they don't tell you is there is a two dollar up charge for them. If it is noted somewhere on the menu they've done a terrific job hiding it. That's bad on them. Good job on the Kentucky mule cocktail and good job on bringing the food out in a reasonably quick manner. The place gets crowded pretty quickly and gets pretty noisy. read more

The average review is 4.2 stars and I think this restaurant deserves a higher score! I love this place and will definitely be back when I'm in the area. My cousin and I needed a bite to eat after golf and this turned up on Yelp's top rated in the Ridge vicinity. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich and it was delicious! My cousin got the Nashville chicken sandwich and thought likewise! We also got the fried calamari and it was delicious with the Thai chili sauce it comes with. Our bartender was a nice young man and I would mention his name, but I forgot. He was very helpful with the menu and told us his favorite dishes. This place cannot get any better than it is...it's not possible. It's great to see the manager greet tables and making sure everyone is doing well. Very personable gentleman. A few of my favorites: pretzel logs, fried calamari, nachos (large portion - we order this when we're with friends), Mexican street frites (we save some for the next morning and put a fried egg on it), buffalo wings, lobster mac and cheese. Drifter's is one of my local go-to's. Their food is consistently good every time I come and the wait staff is so kind and efficient. This time I got the mozzarella planks which were cheesy goodness and for dessert I had the Oreo Ice Cream Cake. The Oreo crust is so crunchy and delicious. It's my favorite part of the cake. We come here all the time, almost every weekend. It's our favorite cozy spot. Usually it's a 10/10 but this is a review for solely last night 11/12/25. Not sure what happened in the kitchen but my whole family is sick. 2 of us ordered burgers and one ordered Ruben sliders and another a sandwich, all different orders. The second we got in the car it felt like I had knives in my stomach and was up all night and so was my father, mother woke up ill as well. I just went to Drifters for the first time with my boyfriend on a nice Saturday date. We were looking for a nice restaurant to eat at but one that wasn't too expensive or fancy. We are so glad we came here! When we came, there was about a 15 minute wait, but we were able to be put on the waitlist very easily. There was seating and a nice garden area outside to wait at so it passed on very quickly. The hostess were very kind and helpful. When we were seated, our waitress was awesome and very nice. The restaurant was very busy and loud so I wouldn't reccomend it if you can not hear well. Other than that, the place had a great vibe and ambiance to it. Our food did take a while to come out but it was peak time on Saturday. The menu had so many delicious options it took us so long to choose what we wanted and there's definitely something for everyone. We got pretzel logs as appetizers which are shown in the picture and got two different burgers for the meal. The pretzel logs were seriously amazing!! They were exactly what this hungry couple needed when we came in. The burgers were both very good leaving my boyfriend and I very pleased. Everything was reasonably priced and was worth the money. I would definitely reccomend this trendy spot for everyone! As mentioned above my only complaint was how loud it is which may be an issue for older patrons however I do think that was related to when we went so a different time or different day may change that factor!! Had dinner with friends last week for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Staff were both professional and customer service oriented. Bar drinks were reasonably priced and not watered down. The food ( appetizers and main course) were excellent. Particularly liked the Mac n cheese balls and pretzel. The main course ( NY strip steak) was cooked to perfection and was served good sized portions for the price. Our server Melissa was outstanding. She was welcoming and attentive and had excellent suggestions for our party. Restaurant has a bar area which accommodates food serving along with plenty of tables for in-dining. Holiday decorations were very tasteful and offered a warm welcome when entering the parking lot. Although I'm 25 miles west I'll definitely make a trip back to Drifters. read more

Came here for lunch. I ordered the chicken Milanese topped with arugula, oranges, grapefruit and Parmesan shavings. The chicken was crispy and fresh (needed a bit of salt). Overall It was really good. My daughter had the strawberry salad and my niece had the crab cakes. We enjoyed our meal. Kelsey is such a VIIIBE! If you're ever dinning solo and look for great company, Kelsey has this positive, upbeat attitude that makes it so easy to talk to. Her bartending skills are superb as the drinks are not too sweet or overpowering but enough to do the job. I also wish I took a picture of their housemade turkey burger. I thought the establishment was excellently decorated outside and inside. The staff was friendly. And boy was the place large and packed! Parking was great too. The personal issue I had with the place besides the trendy environment was that the food was bland. The ambiance felt like if it were a chain restaurant; it was very trendy, albeit of a higher quality and attention to detail. But, the place didn't feel any better than TJ Friday's both in style and in taste. To be fair, I think that a lot of people like this kind of vibe and mild flavor. Not for me. So, it will truly depend on what you're into. Like everything. That's why I give them a "three;" they do a wide range of things right, but, for me, they get enough wrong that it's not for me. One exception: their fries with gravy were amazing. And, interestingly, I thought ideas like that appetizer were so cool and interesting, I which the establishment had more of that. The food... first off the menu is varied and supremely interesting (a great "read" all by itself)... now... look to the pricing and you will notice everything is well-priced and, as we discovered, the flavors are truly excellent - nicely presented with a smile and piled high with goodness!! Service is excellent... this is a busy place however we were blessed with a really nice feeling of being welcomed and appreciated... (a special note: Drifter's Service Team is really worth a heavy tip... they deserve it)! As a brief sidebar: Drifter's successfully achieves the elusive balance of quality-service and price! I had to return my burger because I wanted well done since I'm pregnant, but when I sliced it, it was still very bloody. A way for a restaurant to make people feel unwelcome is to put a statement on their menu saying they won't honor specific food requests or alterations to the menu items. This puts people with allergies or certain dietary restrictions in a tough spot, especially if dining with others and not knowing of this policy ahead of time (Who would know to find out ahead of time? Virtually no restaurants have this policy). While this statement is not on their online menu, it can be found on their physical menu including the take-out menu. A person cannot ask for an item to be left off a salad or burger? "CHANGES AND MODIFICATIONS POLITELY DECLINED" is how it reads on the menu. Their staff seemed friendly to their customers, but as we were dining, we saw three servers laughing and talking about either a customer or another worker. It was very childlike the way they were laughing and scoffing, and looking back at the person in the dining area--we felt in the middle of a VERY awkward situation as they were making fun of the person. Very unprofessional of them! Drifters, please teach your younger workers that this behavior is not acceptable. It makes the workers seem ingenuine when they then return to a customer's table with a smile. The food was good, a nice selection of items, although again if someone has allergies, this selection is drastically diminished when not being able to alter the menu items at all. The fried pickles were excellent! This newer restaurant had a clean and rustic ambiance with country music playing in the background. I will preface this by saying it was all takeout, but for the fact there is Always a line, and the reviews are great, I have to say they're blinded by atmosphere rather than actual food. The mozzarella sticks were inedible, in a pool of oil, not soft, no cheese pull, if I had to guess they were microwaved. Felt like taking a bite of plastic, we didn't finish them cos they were awful. The Baja burger was actually okay, just because it was a puck of burger on a soft bun. Not cooked to the way I asked it, the guacamole on it was good, but didn't cover the whole burger and was basically a sauce rather than a topping because there was so little of it. The truffle fries and mozzarella sticks were the 2 worst parts of the dish. Truffle fries (again) were super oilly, smelt the whole car & my apartment up, fries were soggy not crisp. Gave Drifters a try for the first time tonight and I was a little upset about our food. Located in middle island/ Ridge area where the old McDonalds used to be. The service was great, our serve Craig was nice and friendly and was very prompt about refilling our drinks. The ambiance was beautiful, perfect place to bring a friend out for a couple brews and appetizers. I started my journey by ordering their Spicy Korean chicken wings. They were generous with their sauces and the fact that our server gave us all faults, upon our request, made me very happy. The wings were a solid 6/10. A order came with either 8 or 10 and every other wing was cold in the center. Not a big deal but still believe that they could've been cooked a little throughly. The crab cakes were actually pretty good too, a solid 6/10 as well because we wished there was more crab meat inside the cakes!. For our mains, we ordered the Ginger Salmon and the Marinated skirt steak. The salmon was ordered by my cousin and he noticed that the salmon didn't really have any flavor on it and it was a little undercooked. The white rice and the vegetables included didn't complement the fish at all. The skirt steak was a solid 7/10. But the fried rice were burnt and looked like they were the last remaining batch and they wanted to get rid of it. The steak was cooked to my liking, a little cold but the chimichurri sauce complimented the steak very well. Hoping to get a better experience next time i pay a visit. We finally got a chance to swing by here after passing by and seeing the parking lot is always full. If the parking lot is full, there is a second parking lot across the street. If that is full, look for street parking. There is no reservations. We walked in and luckily there was a table available after a few minutes (table needed cleaning after usage). They have boozy milkshakes which sounds interesting if you want. I went with a regular milkshake which was only available in strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. For appetizers: Pretzel log: the spicy mustard wasn't too spicy. Chicken wings: the rub was good though after a while we needed the dip For entree: The morning burger: was huge and can be a bit messy -- enough for 2 meals! Order sweet potato fries (+$3) which came with maple aioli. The west coast flatbread: loved the avocadoes! Overall it was a great flatbread. I was so full that I couldn't order any desserts to try. I get takeout frequently and lately they just take so long. Today I ordered one sandwich at 4:15 they said 20 minutes I arrived and paid at 4:40 they said a few minutes wait it is now after 5:01 and I am still waiting for my food. I feel this is very bad costumer service. My family and I arrived at Drifters for dinner last night at 6:30PM. We were seated immediately, as it was very quiet due to the snow. We ordered drinks, which arrived quickly, and main courses, no appetizers. It took 45 minutes for our entrees to arrive. My wife and I both ordered NY strip steaks, cooked medium. They both arrived very well done. We sent them back, which is something I haven't done in my 67 years if life, and I dine out an average of 5 days per week. 20 minutes later, the new steaks came out, and once again were very well done. At that point I gave up, couldn't even eat anything. My wife choked down half of hers. The server was excellent, very apologetic and attentive. She called the manager over, who apologized and offered to take my steak off the bill. This was supposed to be a festive holiday/birthday dinner, which was completely ruined, despite coming out in the very nasty weather. I've been living in Ridge since 1997, and my family and I have been regular (several times weekly) of your restaurants, pizzeria and deli. I am absolutely appalled that your manager offered no accommodations at all, other than not charging me for a meal that was ruined twice and never eaten. I can understand screwing it up the first time, but it is unforgivable that they screwed it up twice. Mistakes happen, but it's how you recover that makes all the difference. It's painfully obvious that there was zero care taken in the recook. I've been in the service industry my entire life, and am currently the COO of a large national logistics and transportation organization. If we treated our customers like this, we wouldn't have any customers, especially in these days of social media and online reviews.
