Super fun! This place is vegan and gluten free, but as two gluten-consuming non-vegans, we loved the experience and felt nothing was lacking. Each order comes with its own tea pot, which is enough for five cups-- amazing. Also, all of the sandwiches, scones, and desserts were delicious. Original, refreshing, and a lovely tea experience. We reserved for the literary afternoon tea. The owner and the staff have something very special here. Incredible decor and great spacing between tables. I am very open to vegan cuisine, used to be a raw foodist many years ago and now approach eating more flexibly. I was a bit concerned how much I would actually enjoy both gluten free and vegan since I have not found these baked goods to taste good elsewhere. However, this experience completely opened my mind up to this again. Delicious deserts and savory delights. My favorite was the chocolate cake bite. Wow!! I had the pleasure Of going to this adorable little tea room with my daughter and granddaughters. The Chi tea was absolutely amazing! The little pink lemonade bottle with the straw delighted my granddaughters.The service was great and the Decour was Alice in wonderland. It just doesn't get better than this! PS I don't have any problem with gluten , so that's not why I tried this tea room. The scones and desserts were delicious. Wonderful experience! Loved the Alice in Wonderland theme. The staff was kind- but no masks were necessary. It looks and seems subservient at this point. The White Rabbit tea was delicious. The presentation of the tea cups, saucers, sugar and teapots was delightful. The savory and sweet tower presentation was lovely. Plenty to eat! There was a cucumber cream cheese vegemite type cracker bite that was extremely hard to chew. Very tough. The chickpea salad sandwich needed more spice flavor, and the bread had dried out. Otherwise, the sweets were very good. We expected a quieter, more calm atmosphere. Every table besides ours had children, and one was a birthday party table. It would be a great idea to have families and parties with children under 10 during certain time blocks. It is a fun place for children, however manners and etiquette in children these days are sorely lacking, and our experience was mildly disappointing because of that. SAVE YOUR MONEY! After researching places to take my daughter and grandmas for tea for her birthday, this one had such great reviews I was so excited to try it. I spent $170 and not one of us finished a single thing!!! The food was borderline inedible. We didn't realize it was vegan AND gluten-free, but trust me when I say, I've eaten lots of vegan/gluten-free foods that tasted great. THIS, was not that. I almost gagged when eating one of the savory bites. It tasted like what I would imagine wallpaper paste tastes like. But let me start at the beginning. I found it online after seeing countless good reviews (and I'm baffled over that one!) All the other tea rooms in the area were full, so I went to make a reservation. The reservation system was all glitchy and first it signed me up and then said it was full. I was forced to call the next day to see if they did in fact have room. When I talked to the lady who answered she got my info and took the reservation over the phone saying they were having issues with their system. No worries - all good! I told her that I have a walnut allergy when she asked (made reservation on Wednesday for a Sunday morning table). I also asked her what their menu was like since it was a bit vague online. She told me what they offered and didn't say anything about it being gluten free or vegan (again, not a problem, but I think because they don't know how to make either, it added to the overall abysmal experience). We arrive right on time for our reservation and the place was cute (that's the one star that is given). It was modern (no frilly tea cups, but black/white basic ones) and charming decor. The girl who sat us seemed indifferent and almost annoyed that she had to wait on us. She mumbled through her mask so we had to ask her over and over to repeat herself throughout our visit. The tea itself was the ONLY thing we enjoyed (not hard to do as long as it's good quality). The food came out and she didn't explain what anything was, just dropped it off and left. She came back with a plate of sandwiches and says, "who can't eat walnuts?" So I indicated it was me. She points to the plate of sandwiches and says, "don't eat those, they have walnuts."I quickly realized that was the only savory option - three half sandwiches and the rest are all sweet. Being that I was told we would have multiple items for savory based on what I had ordered, I asked if something else would be coming out that I could eat. She replied, "no" very curtly. So I pushed it a bit as I can't imagine why (especially after asking about my allergy when I made the reservation) they would only serve one savory option with walnuts. She looks at me and kind of rolls her eyes and says, "that's what we have. Unless you want peanut butter and jelly." What the what???? So because I don't want to go into diabetic shock with no protein in my system, I begrudgingly asked for the PB&J. She brings over a tiny sandwich about 10 minutes later. At this point, we're starting to try the food and are realizing it's absolutely DISGUSTING. All four of us were trying to make the most of it and just giving each thing a try. NOT ONE BIT OF FOOD WAS EVEN REMOTELY GOOD. NOT EVEN THE PEANUT BUTTER AND JELLY!!! I didn't want to ruin the mood by making a big thing with the staff, so we just laughed about it and I apologized to my mother in law, mom and daughter and we said we'd do a do over at another tea place when the holidays were over. It's such a bummer because as a fellow small business owner, I go out of my way to visit places like this over the Phoenician. But when the service, food and overall experience is SO bad, it makes it a huge disappointment. A few suggestions to the owner if you actually read this and don't pay to have it deleted as it appears would be the case: 1. If you're going to be vegan and gluten free, try to take a note from places like Pomegranate Cafe or Flower Child - DELICIOUS food and recipes. It IS possible to have great flavors and textures! 2. Get a different reservation system 3. Charge less until you get your food in order 4. If you ask about an allergy and they tell you, make sure you have other options that don't include what they're allergic to. Otherwise, give them a break on their bill. Honestly, I spent $170 (still tipped 20% as I used to be a server and I know what it's like) on 1 Wonderland Tea, 2 Literary Teas and a Child's Tea. We all had to eat after. How on earth this place has gotten such high reviews makes me think they are paying for them. No other way to explain it. read more

I have been planning my visit for a month for my 8 year old daughter's birthday, so we were both super excited about coming here! It did not disappoint! The tea all smelled so good, so it was tough to choose which one, but my daughter got the Alice tea and I got the Mad Hatter. Both were delicious!! And the Alice was magical! Staff was attentive, and quick about making sure our needs were met. The food is vegan, and that typically sounds iffy, but it was to die for! Especially the roll up... I could live off that! The sweets were varied. I shared mine with my daughter, and still left too full to finish it all!! Plus they surprised her with some chocolate covered strawberries for her birthday! The only suggestion I have is maybe a bit more variety for the kids portion. I feel like it was perfect for very young kids, but older ones maybe wouldn't feel as full or enjoy it as much, which is how my daughter ended up eating my food too. I will definitely return though!! The place was very cute & the presentation of food was wonderful, but that was it. We had a reservation for 2 for my daughters birthday for the full tea service which was $49.50/person. This was not at all worth what they are charging. The food & service was absolutely horrible. It took the waitress 15 minutes to only bring us water, never once communicating to us what to expect. After another 10-15 minutes she only came back to tell us she would be back with the tea selection that took another while just to bring. After being there for 45 min we finally got our tea, I proceeded to ask her, since she was finally at our table, what was next. I told her I had the Alice full tea reservation, she appeared confused & proceeded to tell us how the food was frozen & needed 24 hours yo be thawed. So I asked her if it was still being thawed & was that what was taking so long. She said it was thawed earlier & they were just putting it together. The delay was she was the only waitress for the whole tea room. This was ridiculous. Don't waste your money on frozen food & bad service. read more

Had a small intimate bon voyage/engagement party for my daughter. Her cousin, (my neice), had few months old little boy. They were kind enough to allow us use of private room even though small party. The owner was incredibly accommodating with all my last minute changes. The Tea Room is adorable! The Alice in Wonderland them is inspirational! This isn't just kiddos, this is for the ladies! They serve cocktails & nonalcoholic versions. Gave daughter a complimentary virgin cocktail, so cute & yummy! Won't give away all the treats & surprises. Can say it was delightful! The teas were so unique & tasted as good as they smelled, one has a little "twist". It is vegetarian fare, if they hadn't told us would have never guessed. Tea sandwiches, scones, deserts, everything was delicious! Felt pampered & doted on, they were there to assist before could ask. This was 3 months ago & still gushing. Be aware this is dairy free (which they don't publicize) which is fine but if you like milk in your tea, you'll be disappointed. I got loose tea to go. It is average flavor at twice the price of other tea stores. Covid precautions are not good. I watched the owner clean all the bottles and trays with the same cloth. So the reason I'm giving this establishment a 1 star is my daughter's and I had planned this Harry Potter themed tea party as a late Birthday celebration and thought it would be fun. We got tickets awhile ago in December, not cheap 55 so a 200 plus cost for us. It was ruined by bad service by 1 particular person, but by all overall. We arrived and were greeted by a waitress don't know names but I could describe very easily by hair color if I wanted to. She proceeded to spell out the menu it was hard to understand her as she had on a mask. Which I get is the case these days. But not an excuse for rude service. I politely interrupted her and asked "could you maybe lower your mask a little my daughter is hearing impaired she can't hear or understand what you are saying" she kept talking so I asked her again and said she was not comfortable doing that and could talk louder" which was insulting by her tone and wouldn't help the situation. She was annoyed by my merely asking for this courtesy. In this setting my daughter rely's on reading lips at times if there's alot of backgrouns noise. But the biggest insult was that she refused to serve us sent someone new who didn't address our request or offer an alterior resolution. My issue is I understand if a business requires mask be worn, however its never ok to treat someone with a disability this way. There needs to some accommodation made and educate your work force how to handle these situations in a more humane and delicate manner. So thumbs down. 1 bad egg spoils it all. From the beginning our waitress seemed very lost and confused. Me and a girlfriend both ordered a la crate with our petite teas. We advised her we were going to be ordering more on top and she forgot we had to remind her. We got our order separate tea pots and separate plates of the cookie and scone. The waitress brought over one plate of savory sandwiches we ordered and gave it to my girlfriend and I waited for mine. Ten minutes later I walked up and asked where is my plate of extras I've ordered she stated " it's on the same plate as your friend" what??????? She didn't mentioned it was two orders or anything why would you plate on one plate and give it to her when I'm sitting across on the opposite side? No apologies or anything, ten minutes later she asked " are you good" lol and she charges my friend double who didn't know her plate was two orders. All of a sudden another waitress took over cause our first waitress went on break. The 2nd waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. it's not only about the food but it's also about the experience at cafe/restaurant.
