This place is cool. I have read some of the other reviews and I think people are confused about the concept. Drunken Tiger is not aiming to be some high-end dining experience (see name: drunken). This is the kind of place where you begin or end an evening. It is also one of the few truly late-night options in the Valley since they stay open till midnight and till 1:00 on Friday and Saturday. Mesa is one of the cornerstones for authentic Asian cuisine in the Valley. If you've ever spent any time in South Korea (I LOVE Seoul!), then you get what Drunken Tiger is about. Kind of a step above a dive bar with still good eats, a nice vibe, and a solid drink list (yup, they have tons of Soju here!). When I popped in on a weeknight, the place was already packed and while I was lucky to get seated right away, there was soon a queue for arriving guests. I can only imagine that as the night wears on, it gets even busier. While they were busy, the employees did a great job of taking care of our table and nearby guests. It is always a good sign when a bar is on top of monitoring water refills! As this was not a dinner stop for me, I only tried a bit of the menu: beer-battered mozzarella sticks, soy-garlic fried chicken wings, mussel soup. Everything was good. Not something you would write home about, but solid and worth the price paid. One opportunity area I see for Drunken Tiger is making better use of the dining space. They have a small bartop that could honestly be extended and would add a cooler vibe to the place. It's currently a mix of a few booths and scattered tables throughout the dining room. While they did a fantastic job of the decorations (and the men's restroom was very clean), a bit of a reorganization in the dining room would make this place even better. Food for thought! Another perk of Drunken Tiger is that it is affordable. There are some solid Korean cuisine restaurants in Arizona, but few are affordable. Korean Tiger is an establishment where you can get some authentic Korean food without breaking the bank. Perfect choice for a Happy Hour or late night. One more reason to visit Mesa! read more

The food here is so good. It's always a great time here as well especially with friends. Atmosphere is nice and again the food here is always so good. Service is fast as well however beware when going close to closing, their kitchen most the time does close about an hour or more before the designated closing hour listed on their website. Super cool place to hit up on a Saturday night! We stopped by around 10:30 and this place was pretty busy! We waited about 20 minutes for a table as it was pretty cray. The hostess was friendly and let us look over the menu as we waited to be seated. We sat down and water was brought out right away. I ordered a cass and my friend tried out the blueberry soju which is one of my favorites! The server was super friendly. We decided to order several dishes and share them. We ordered two steamed eggs, Korean fried chicken, and bulgolgi fries! The steamed eggs were great! I'm obsessed and must have them where ever they are made! The kfc was also really good. We came here as a family of 5 with three young kids. Even though it's a street food bar and restaurant, they were very accommodating to young kids. We had the padak chicken, deep fried chicken gizzards, fire chicken paws and Kim chi fried rice. The food were pretty good. Seating is spacious though you can't tell from the outside looking in. Their draft drink selection is a little lackluster, for a bar they can stock up a bit more beer on tap, but I guess people come here for cocktails and specialty drinks. The service is here is extremely unprofessional and I definitely would NOT recommend this establishment. As my family and I walked in we were glared at and body checked by the two hostesses. As soon as I approached the host stand itself the two women looked away and began ignoring me until I greeted them and told them my party number. Then one woman simply walked away without even looking at me and the other said "um I think we have a waitlist". She rustled with some very small pieces of paper that were scattered all around the host-side of the stand and gazed around the room. She then walked away to go talk to the guy behind the bar. (Not to mention the bar was completely empty). She came back after 30 seconds and said "it'll be a 40 minute wait". I looked around and noticed that there was no one waiting to be seated and that there were plenty of tables for my family and I to sit at (it was just the 3 of us). Honestly this place is a must if you are into food and live in the valley . My buddy big wave Dave first recommended DT awhile back, it took me some time to actually try it. This place is honestly the absolute shit! My favorite items are the Galbi ribs, beef bulgogi and Korean fried chicken. Their options for soju are endless too, which is sick. The Korean chicken was a bunch of little nuggets that looked grayish brown and not appetizing, once you dipped it in the sauce it was ok. They should just toss them in the sauce before serving. I've been now twice and had 2 good experiences, but have yet to come when it's a packed crowd which may change the vibe. When we pulled up we parked right in front of the doorway to the kitchen... The vibes and service were great 10/10 but we were disappointed in the quantity of food. We ordered the: Spicy rice cakes: favor was really good! But portion was sooo small for the price which was shocking since most Korean bars do not shy away from rice cake portions since they are relatively cheap..... Chicken gizzard: solid! Quality and quantity was great. Mussel soap: super bland and came with about six mussel pieces. Which is fine but not worth for the price. Popcorn chicken: loves the flavor but wish it came with some radish on the side. As we entered it looked like a cafe with decent chairs and a sit out. Since we had a huge group we were split coz the place is small for large groups. The service is pretty quick and the menu is vast. We ordered watermelon soju and green apple soju for drinks. Both were delicious. Personally loved green apple soju. For the food we ordered a lot of varieties. Corn cheese was heaven it was delicious, my most favorite for the night was salt pepper shrimp, the shrimp was so fresh and crispy. The chicken wings are a win be it the red sauce or the soy garlic sauce. They are all delicious. Popcorn chicken isn't a bad idea either. My second alright list is the fire chicken, it is really really spicy and not for the faint heart. The rice cake, fried rice was not up to the mark but not bad either. This was really really bad... Everything tasted weird: the water, the kimchi fried rice, the tteokbokki, and the chicken. The kimchi fried rice tasted like oily, burnt Funyuns, the tteokbokki was super watery and the ramyun was flavorless, and that was the oddest Korean fried chicken I've ever eaten. The fry and juiciness was fine, but the soy garlic.. was just off. I'm not really sure why this place is so highly recommended, maybe most people have never eaten Korean food outside Arizona? I've had microwavable tteokbokki better than this place. I had to go to a boba shop afterwards to get the taste out of my mouth. Says it came with vegetables, decided to add mushrooms and an egg. Well, the "vegetables" it came with was some shredded carrots. The mushrooms we added were just canned mushrooms. Also order the takoyaki. Took forever to come out. They probably forgot it in the fryer because when I got it, it was burned AF. When I ordered I asked if I can get some sort of dipping sauce or something, because there was nothing on the table to dress your food. Not even napkins. This is where I take all my out-of-town friends, where my friends and I catch up over drinks, I had my birthday dinner here...Once, I came here five times in a week with different people...and they're only open six days a week. Not sure if that's impressive or embarrassing haha. But I've had a bunch of items on the menu. People say it's overpriced, but it's because the portions are meant for sharing. The Korean Fried Chicken or Soy Garlic Chicken is always a solid choice. I LOVE french fries so the Kimchi Pork Fries or Animal-style Fries (secret menu item) are both amazing. If you're looking for something on the spicier side and not fried, my go-to items are the Tofu Kimchi (sounds bland, but is so tasty, especially with the pork belly mixed in) or the Spicy Mussels. If you're looking for something a little more green, I recently tried the Pork Belly Salad and it was great! It had chopped up perilla leaves in it (which I love!) and it gave the salad a minty, bold taste. I'm also a fan of the flavored sojus. Plum, white grape, and peach are my favorite! In the Phoenix area, Drunken Tiger has got to be one of the best places to go for Korean food. It isn't served in huge portions, but more like smaller dishes. They have a wide variety of food to choose from, however, including the typical Korean style dishes like bulgogi fries and tteokbokki with cheese (my personal favorite). There is a huge selection of alcoholic beverages and different types of soju. The atmosphere is very typical of a bar. Music, people chatting and laughing, and employees running around to serve people. Everyone is very attentive and friendly, even for take out orders like I just got today. I have gone to DT in the past with large groups and the food came out wonderfully and we were treated very well. I HIGHLY recommend trying this place out.
