Love the dry bar! I've been here a few times now and haven't been disappointed! I always show them a picture of how I want my hair to turn out and it always looks amazing after! They have something called a dry style- wash your own hair and make sure it's dry then they will style it for only $25! I do personally prefer this since I love using my own shampoo products! Received an email saying they couldn't reach me . I came in to get my hair styled (dry styling) for graduation and because I had heard good things about this place from a friend. I came in with slightly damp hair and was told I would be charged the full blow out price (double what I was expecting to pay). She proceeded to blow dry my hair for a couple minutes then curled my hair. Appointment was on time, so that was nice and the products smelled nice. However, my hair fell by the time I went to graduation and I had even put extra hairspray in. The curls looked nothing like "beachy waves". $50 didn't feel worth it to pay for two minutes of blow drying and some curls I could have done at home. read more

This establishment is ridiculous! Called last minute to tell me a stylist called out but my appointment would be in time. I mentioned that I will be flying out so I need to make sure I will be on time. Get there and there was no way I would be seen for 30 plus minutes. Why not be honest with your customers and say it will be 30 mins or more wait time! Instead I drove to the appt and I had to leave! Value your customers time! I have been to DryBar twice, the first time I had a decent and granted the convenience of the service I went back. I have naturally curly hair and from time to time I decide to straighten to achieve a different look. Two weeks ago I had a last minute event and decided to pay DryBar a visit. I came to the conclusion that they don't know how to brow dry curly hair, their technique leaves roots curly. The hair folds and it looks unpolished definitely a finished not worth 50$. I reached out to customer service to which the responded with a 20$ store credit. It felt like a slap in the face, I sat there for over an hour just to go home and have to rewash my hair and redo it myself. I wish that they would at least refunded me for my visit or gave me a complimentary session with someone that knew how to handle my type of hair. With that being said, although the place is very cute and convenient I don't recommend this for anyone with curls. read more

I'm a Drybar fanatic having been to locations in New York, Charleston, Pasadena and a local to my home location in La Jolla and Del Mar. Irvine's venue is in the Spectrum center which is nice and clean and famous in the city for just how large it is. If you park over by the H&M it isn't a long walk. My stylist was excellent and gave me especially was I needed. (I was on camera for an event and needed hair that could last for 3 days and look good without a hair team.) She didn't try and talk my head off while I memorized my script and even shampooed twice since my hair is so thick which I appreciated. read more

The girls here are so sweet so I'll start by saying that. However, whenever I leave here about 30 mins later my hair is frizzy and my waves have all fallen out. I can do it myself and it'll stay just fine but sometimes it's nice to go get pampered and have someone else do it for you while you relax. My hair was also washed poorly as I can usually go about four days without a wash and I had to wash it two days later. I prefer going to MyBlowLA but this location is more convenient in a pickle or if the other place is booked up. read more

Unfortunately, I wish I could leave a better review. Was super excited and decided to treat myself on my birthday to a blow out. Thought it would be cool to have my hair done for the day. I noticed the salon had an old Hollywood style, and being a huge fan of vintage, I thought that was perfect. The models in the photos had perfect "S" waves and a defined "S" shaped bang. I got a male stylist and was super excited and eager about the process, but he barely spoke to me. We maybe exchanged a couple sentences and the rest of the appointment was in silence which was a bit awkward and off putting. He brushed my hair pretty hard to the point the brush was smacking my head, so I wish that was more gentle. I didn't want my curls to fall out so I asked him if he could make the "S" curls a bit tighter. When the end product was done, I was extremely disappointed. I've styled vintage hair before and was super ready to have the day off to get a little pampering by a professional done, but it was not a good job. There weren't any defined "S" waves. It was just taking a curling iron and making thicker curls, which I felt like I could've and probably should've just done at home and saved $70. My bangs were completely flat. No wave or definition. When you style vintage hair, the bangs HAVE to be right to make the look. Pin curls should be involved. If I would've known they didn't do it this way, I could've predicted the outcome. It was its own style yes, but not the one in the picture. Nothing about it read as Old Hollywood. My stylist barely looked at me when he was finished and the whole experience was just extremely off putting. It was as if he was annoyed I was there, or maybe he was just having a bad day or is on the shyer side. Either way, if someone is paying this much to get their hair styled, just please tell them if you can achieve the look or not. I would've happily chosen something else like beach waves. Also, please remember these experiences aren't cheap! Customers are paying you to have a good experience. I haven't treated myself to a pampering day in months and this just put such a major downer on the day when you don't feel beautiful or wanted in a business. My curls felt flat in about an hour and now I'm kicking myself for wasting money. I love to leave positive reviews, but this experience was not good. I would absolutely give 5 stars to the amazing receptionist who engaged in conversation with me and just seemed so happy and welcoming. She came from working from Disney and understands how to excel in customer service. She goes above and beyond and that needs to be noted. Ultimately, save your money or just go to a hair salon and ask them for a blowout. I love this Dry Bar location so much. I loved the voicemail I was left reminding me about my appointment and updating me about the new late policies. It was helpful to be reminded of my appointment in my busy week. Would not want to miss my appointment as I love the services so much! I leave feeling great and beautiful every single time. While all the stylists are great I do have to say that Mackenzie is my favorite. Always so nice and takes her time to make sure the finished look is amazing. The bartenders at the front are so kind and welcoming as well. Many of the times I have gone, Lily has been the one who greeted me with a smile and kindly offered me many beverages to choose from. This location is horrible DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. First of all most of the stylists can't do a proper blowout. Additionally, the management apparently has changed and they will call you right before your appointment and CANCEL on you. I had this happen to me 4 times and once before a wedding!!! But if you cancel they will charge you however it's ok for them to cancel on you. Even spoke to the manager who was extremely unapologetic and unprofessional. She had the audacity to tell me she wasn't going to do anything about my situation since I seemed to have made up my mind about not going back there. Apparently they don't pay their employees enough so people keep quitting. Heard this from an employee. Even their booking system doesn't work according to the front desk the system glitches. So many better salons and actual professionals out there save your time and book somewhere reliable. This place is a joke. So sad because the old Drybar was actually good, they used to offer all kinds of beverages and had good stylists. Let's start off with the chairs, Super Duper uncomfortable. The girl ( who didn't even introduce her name) did not pass the vibes check. she seemed a little moody who knows but she was taking it out on my hair at first in the beginning rushing the knotts out with a fine comb and I am the one who suggested" can we at least wash my hair first and conditioner and then brush it.? " My method obviously was a lot better and easier on my scalp. The other star is for my hair came out decent but I not exactly what I was hoping for a little too poofy on the top for my type. At least it would've been respectful 1. As a long time client I just learned the hard way about their "5 minute rule". I was 8 minutes late to my appointment at theIrvine location due to an accident, stood in an empty salon for several minutes until I finally had to go to the back where the employees were engaged in a personal conversation to inform someone I had arrived. Then I was told because I was late they could only offer me a dry style. I made my appointment over a week ago for a special event today. Over the years I cannot tell you how many times I've arrived on time or even early for my appointment at this place only to be told they're running 10,20 even 30 minutes behind. Never offered a discount or any compensation even for the longest delays. And they offer a five minute grace period. Pretty sure industry standard is 15 minutes. I'm sure they won't care but they lost a client for good today. Extremely disappointed in the entire experience not only today but over the decade plus I've been coming to various DryBar locations. read more

Well I'm never booking here again. It's my birthday and my father has been in the hospital. I wanted to get a blow dry as some self-care for a change and go see my father. I was late and they've always taken me before. But today of all days they refused to even accommodate me without the add-ons. I even said, please just accommodate me today, it's my birthday and I'm going to see my dad at the hospital after this. Zero compassion or care. I don't normally care about these things, but the one day someone should've shown me a little courtesy especially after I said, "It's my birthday. I'm dressed. I'll have to go home and wash my hair again, and I'll miss my window to see my dad," she still said sorry we can't. Literally one of the most messed up experiences ever. I am never coming back. Which was great because I had a following appointment to get my makeup done. I had a special event and could not have been happier with my hair. I only wish I could do it myself the same way. I'm so glad I didn't let the bad reviews scare me away from getting my blowout this morning. I was skeptical before my visit but my nerves were soon alleviated after I walked in. I saw some complaints about the receptionist, im not sure if they got someone new but the receptionist there when I went was really cool and super nice. Also, I'm sure some stylists are better than others and each have their specialties. But Bryan was the absolute best. My experience at the Drybar at Irvine Spectrum was extremely disappointing.I do have to say that every other Drybar location that I have been to in the past two years of having a membership has been wonderful. My daughter granddaughter and I were coming to the Drybar to have a good beginning to our Christmas celebration. It was the first Christmas since my husband passed so we were hoping to do something different and special. Unfortunately we were stopped from entering the parking area due to a protest going on. The police shut down the street leading to the parking lot at the Irvine Spectrum. Since I could tell that we weren't going to make it within the grace period I made sure to call. We were promised to at least get one blow out and the other 2 would be dry styles if we could make within a certain amount of time. We really tried our best and my granddaughter got out of the car to run and get there within the timeframe set by the front desk people. When she got there, they said that all they could do was a dry style. When I arrived after hurrying through the Spectrum and leaving my daughter to find parking, the front desk people offered to give me a dry style too. I really wish that we had both declined a dry style since what they did for my granddaughter was next to nothing and she was finished in a super short time. Our frustration was complete when we were charged for our dry styles and my daughter's dry style who didn't even get there for a long time because of the police blocking the entrance to the parking. $105 later and we weren't pleased with the results! The worst thing about the experience was the way we were treated. The front desk people didn't know about the protest and really didn't seem to care. There weren't any customers waiting for hair appointments and it looked to us as if there was only one person working there when we went by there a little later. The shop is supposed to be open until 10:00 but it was very obvious that everyone had gone home. I reached out to customer service and received an email from Kelsey Flanagan where she tried to explain that there was a misunderstanding and that she would refund some of the money and give us a complimentary blow out. Then she sent another email and apparently she had spoken to the manager of the shop and she declined to give us anything other than a $17 refund. Being called a liar is something that I have never experienced when dealing with people who want to keep my business. This is just bad business for them. I recommend that you never go to the Irvine Spectrum Drybar and instead give your business to the Drybar at Victoria Gardens where you will be treated with respect. I really wish that I could give a negative star rating. read more

It was my first time ever visiting a drybar. I had high expectations and really wanted to be a regular here. I booked my appointment for 11am as I had my friends wedding to go. I arrived on time to my appointment and had to end up waiting 30 minutes to even sit down in the chair with one of the drybar stylists. I went with a particular style in mind and was not able to achieve the look I wanted because my appointment started half an hour later. I left very unhappy and the management did not seem to care. It ruined the entire flow of my day as I was now late to my following appointment at a different location because of the salon's lack of time organization. If you're planning to visit this salon, please keep in mind that you are most likely going to wait way past your appointment time and will likely end up rushing or being late to wherever you need to go afterwards. read more

From bad to worse... I have been to the Drybar at the Irvine spectrum about 4 times over the last 3 months or so. I really liked the convenience of the app and my first time there was great, so it left a good impression. Every time, I go back it gets worse. As I mentioned, the first time, was fantastic. My hair never looked so good and the curls lasted the whole day as promised. The second time, my hair was ok, not as good, but didn't last half of the day. Too much product made it dry and so hard to maintain until the next wash. The Third time, my hair looked good, but as soon as I walked to the car, it started flattening. By the time I got home, my hair looked straight, frizzy and damaged. It took me so long to brush it as it was all knotted from the dryness/ stiffness from the hairspray. The Fourth time, which is definitely my last at this location, it was our holiday picture day. I was short on time, so I booked the hair appointment a couple of hours before the photo session because they did not have appointments, even though I booked a few weeks ahead. Anyways, it was very important that my hair looked good that day because I was hoping to use one of these photos as our family greeting cards for the holidays. So, we go on time, I had my daughter with me and in all honesty, her hair looked really good and lasted the whole day as promised. I, on the other hand, had a whole different experience. The stylists greeted us and started doing our hair on time, I have to give them that. Because I was nervous, I wanted things to be simple, so I asked for some volume on top and some loose curls. I didn't want any sophisticated curls that would flatten on me like what happened previously. So, the stylist showed me a picture and we both agreed that that is what I wanted and she started. The wash was good, she gave me a good head massage, so I started relaxing and thinking that I was in good hands. She said in order to get what I wanted, she needed to put rollers all over my head and I was ok with it thinking that would give me the volume I wanted. Once she started putting the rollers in my hair, I could tell that this will not end well. The amount of hair I lost in the process, the excess amount of hairspray she used and the way she manipulated my hair were all signs that this was not going to end well :(. She took about 45-50 min just to put rollers in my hair. Adding the wash and the drying prior to the rollers to that, it took her past an hour of working on my hair. So, I was getting anxious, didn't know how she would finish this. Guess how she finished my hair? She took the rollers off, manipulated it with her hands and said "ok, can you take a look before I put anymore hairspray?". No flat iron, no curler, I was in shock, I had this blank stare on my face and I said "I will figure it out at home". So, she said " but, you are not happy. You got what you wanted. The volume on top and your ends are facing down" . She offered to add in more curls when I told her that she didn't put in the curls I wanted. But, I was so short on time, I had to go. My hair looked like I got electrocuted; it was dry, chunky, damaged and too stiff to deal with. I called my husband and cried on the way home from the disappointment. I am not very good with hair, so I couldn't figure out a way to fix it quickly due to the lack of time. We went to the photo session after and the photos just came out. My hair looked chunky, frizzy and awful and there goes the holiday cards that I was planning to send out. I guess they will have to be generic cards for this year . Unfortunately, I have no recollection of any names. If I did, I would have given credit to the person who did my hair the first time and the person who did my daughter's hair to differentiate them from others. read more

I would have given 1* if it wouldn't be for Alex who saved my day. I booked a wash/blow out/ style. I detailed exactly over the phone what kind of look I was looking for, Tight Hollywood Glam Waves. I was assured they can do it. When I got seated I showed the girl (I forgot her name) pictures from every angle of the hairstyle. She was like ok. She asked me if my hair was washed, and I said yes. I had washed it early in the morning because I touched up my roots. But I didn't put any hair products in. So she insisted that we don't need to wash it again. Plus I had asked to bring my extensions even I have long thick hair, but many stylists still like to add extensions . Also the receptionist recommended that it's better to use them too. The stylist didn't want to add my extensions, she said my hair is already very long and thick, so I listened to her. She only brushed my hair and didn't put any products in. She didn't made the correct line to separate my bangs which I prefer to have to the right side. She just started curling big strings of my hair. After exactly 20 minutes she said said she was done. My bangs were just flat, I had regular curls that looked already partially flat. I showed her the picture again and to compare it to my hair. She just went and got someone else. I am not a complicated person, I am always very quiet and let the stylist do their work, but this was far from what I wanted. I never had an issue at MyBlow LA. Alex came and replaced the other stylist. I explained to her what look I wanted and also showed her the picture. She had to re-curl my hair. She was so patient and friendly and also high pregnant. She managed to archive the old fashioned glamour look (not exactly the tight Hollywood waves) but at least she knew what I was looking for and did her best to get my hair styled. I am sure if she had worked on my hair from the beginning the outcome would had been even much better. Because there was not much time left and she had a client after me she couldn't wash and blow out my hair anymore. Honestly, I can recommend Alex to everyone, in the short time she had to fix my hair she put lots of effort in it and her customer service is 100%, friendly and totally sweet. I wasn't charged for the washing and drying they took it off since it was never done. I left a generous tip because Alex provided excellent customer service. My front looked old fashioned style which i like. Unfortunately my hair didn't last long and became very frizzy with no shine due to the fact that the first stylist didn't wash and blow out my hair and didn't add any hair treatments to soften my hair. All she did is use lots of hairspray and started curling big parts instead of curling only small sections since my hair is very heavy. Note to Drybar, Please don't promise a look that you are not able to archive! And do not rush your appointments, when i scheduled an one hour appointment and being told after 20minutes that I am done, and please adjust your work to the hair structure of your clients! My hair is thick and curly and needs to be straightened and soften before it gets styled! Again Thank you Alex for being a sweetheart and saving my day! BEWARE!!! The reviews below are true when it comes to curling hair. My appointment was at 8 AM, and by the time I got home around 9:30 AM, my hair was already uncurled. I called right away and the receptionist stated the manager was in a meeting but would call me back. I never heard back, so I went ahead and re-curled my hair and went to my work event. I called back today and they said they cannot refund me nor can he redo my hair if it's not the same day. I am going to file a dispute with my card company and also report them to the Better Business Bureau. The sole purpose of a dry bar is to style hair, and my hairstyle did not even last one hour! Note - I get a blow dry every week (at a different salon) and the curl last 2 to 3 days. I explained all of this to the manager and she said she could not do anything. DO NOT GO HERE read more
