I recently visited Drybar with my sister for hair curls, and I wanted to provide some feedback. Unfortunately, the stylist did not achieve the look we requested, which was based on a picture we provided. The curls turned out dry, frizzy, and completely different from what we expected. And right when I went home the curls were gone and I had to visit Ulta to do ny hair again. Additionally, I felt that the customer service could have been better. I always wanted to try this place out and I finally made time for it. I walked in and all the stylists just looked at us and turned away and nobody welcomed us in or said hello. I understand they were all with their clients but at least say something. Someone should have greeted us as we just stood there .We then sat down and waited for a couple more minutes . The employees just looked at us and it became very uncomfortable So we decided to leave. This was such a disappointment as I was excited about the services here but after this experience I would never waste my time and enter a dry bar again . LOVE BEHNAZ at the DryBar Irvine Spectrum. I have been getting my hair done by Behnaz for years! She used to be at the Drybar Newport Beach and now she is at the DryBar Irvine Spectrum. I get weekly blowouts so my hair has to last many days and that's why I go to Behnaz. Behnaz is consistent and she always makes my hair look its best! On top of my hair always coming out just the way I like it, I love it when Behnaz washes my hair. She gives me a double wash and she really gets in there so l can feel my hair getting clean and it feels so good because she gives a nice scalp scrub and massage. I just close my eyes and relax, it's the best! Behnaz is not only an excellent hair stylist, she is a lovely human. It's a treat to sit in her chair weekly and spend time with her. What an absolute disgrace - if they cared about customer service at all they would hire someone with courtesy and the ability to provide any service at all over the phone. The receptionist repeating "that's our policy" without trying to resolve an actual issue is a joke. Being condescending and confrontational to a customer, not your best showing. Unfortunate as I truly enjoyed this location and their stylist, its a good thing they aren't the ones that answer phones. I will definitely NEVER again go to this location. I'm really disappointed in the lack of customer service and professionalism this place has. I usually go to the Drybar in Torrance but on Tuesday 11/26 I decided to go to the one in Irvine with my sister and daughter. Our appointment was for 12:15. We got to the Irvine spectrum at 12:10 but unfortunately there was absolutely no parking available. We called the shop at 12:20 to let them know we were here but running behind. Turns out the lady on the phone wasn't even at the Irvine location but at some call center. She assured us though that she'd call to let them know. anyway we get to the store at 12:35 and it's completely empty except for a girl sitting at the front. We let her know we had an appointment but she told us to wait and that someone would help us. Then this girl comes out and doesn't say a SINGLE word to us. We were telling her that we got here on time but there was no parking that we had to park far and run to get here. All she's doing at this point is looking at her computer and nodding. And then finally my sister had to ask so will you still take us. And all she did was shake her head! I was in complete shock. I mean granted we knew it was our fault and that we were late but come on. Not even a "I'm sorry unfortunately no" or " no but we can reschedule you" when we asked why not All she said was that we were gonna push them behind for the rest of the day. Someone seriously needs to retrain her or put her somewhere where she doesn't talk to customers because if she is who everybody interacts with first then that's really bad for business. I would also just like to say usually, when I make appointments with other establishments they always call or text when I'm a few minutes past my appointment time. This place did not. And the girl we spoke with on the phone did not tell us about the grace period. I know I'm only one customer but I will definitely not come back to this place!! read more

I get a call as I'm about to pull into the Spectrum for a 7:45am appointment and they let me know that the stylist called in sick. The call comes TWO minutes before my 7:45 am appointment, and it is hard to believe that was the earliest they could let me know. While they offered a later appointment, that didn't work for my work schedule. This is not the first time I've had issues with early morning appointments at this location. More than once, stylists have shown up late where I've had to wait more than 15-20 minutes. I still pay the full amount and tip well. Another time during a weekend evening appointment, my stylist had to assist a client that had a lot of knotted hair. Two stylists worked on a single customer while I waited. In that instance, I had to wait for than 30 minutes after my scheduled appointment. It would have been helpful to let me know ahead of time so I could run errands in the mall rather than wait in the lobby. They did end up doing that with another guest that came in after me. If a customer is late 15 minutes, Drybar's policy is to downgrade to a dry style. If a customer cancels last minute they still can charge you. Both policies are totally understandable and ones I support, but there is no reciprocal policy when the salon cancels or is horribly late. Aside from sincere apologies or an offer to reschedule for a time that doesn't work, nothing is done to retain customer loyalty. For corporate, I'd suggest noting customer issues on their computers...gauging when a customer checks out and their start time. It would be telling about how efficient locations are. If a salon initiates a cancellation, provide a reason. Aggregate issues by customers to provide insights about customer satisfaction. I've stopped my membership due to the multiple issues I've had at this location and now only schedule appointments when I want to treat myself. With this latest instance, I may need to find another alternative or location. It really seems to be specific to the Irvine location and management as I've tried other Drybar spots across the country with no issues. read more

Well let me tell you, this business is under new management and you can totally see the difference in the atmosphere, the staff and the stylist are being more engaging with their clients... to provide the best customer service... and that's a plus ... They have a variety of hair styles to chose from and who doesn't want to look their best without doing the work... not just that but booking an appointment was easy to schedule it or even walking-in ... I felt so relax and comfortable and confident with my stylist working with my hair ... love it !!! so ive been looking at reviews of this place at different locations. and for the most part they arent good and today i see why. there was some chick starting to work here and needed a hair model. free blowjob?! im there. workers really dont talk to me ok whatever. the chair im in where they style is super tiny and uncomfortable. worker is very young and inexperienced. mk whatever. i wanted the "mai tai" i guess its called. my hair looked nothing like the picture. my hair my curled and "styled" lasted about 5 minutes? the products they used on me seemed cheap and crappy. made my hair goopy and shiny. my hair had a bit of dandruff. i had a ton of flyaways. thanks for the experience i deffinitely wouldnt pay for a blowout here. read more

I've tried this place 2 times now. The first time I was a little over 5 minutes late -- please note- the parking in the spectrum is horrible!! I drove around for over 10 minutes looking for a spot (it was a lunch time appointment, bad idea I guess!) I couldn't find anywhere to park, so I had to go the parking structure which is so far from the salon. I was literally running across the center to get there. When I walked in I was told that I needed to be on time, Since I was 8 minutes late they could not see me. They didn't offer to reschedule me or offer any other solutions. The person totally had the diva attitude, lol. I was so angry, but I understood that I was late even though I tried so hard to be on time. I thought I'd give it another try a few months later. For my second appointment, I booked online for the following day and received a confirmation email. I had a wedding to go to, so I just wanted a simple blowout with some curls. An hour before my appointment they called to tell me that two stylists didn't show up to work and they had no times available to see me. I could't believe how rude the person on the phone was. Unfortunately for me, just 2 hours after having my hair blown out and flat ironed, it was a frizzy nightmare. It was not raining and there wasn't any more moisture in the air than an average evening. I contacted the salon in the morning and even sent a photo. The receptionist initially said they would redo my hair and scheduled me an appointment. However I received a call back a couple hours later saying they wouldn't redo my hair or give me a refund. The Manager, Samantha would only give me a free add-on but I needed to buy another blow dry service. I've had my hair professionally straightened 100 times and never had it frizz up so quickly. I usually do the surveys drybar sends to my email directly, but decided to write one here as well. I have micro bead extensions, and i have a lot of them. I come here weekly for my blowouts. I am not sure what is happening at this location but they really need to make some changes. I've been here a few times over the last few years, only really going for special occassions. It was very busy and I had made my appointment 2 weeks prior. I got there on time, and had to wait and wait for 20 minutes before a stylist was free to start my hair style. I chose my style from the look book and had her wash my hair. The style came out exactly as I wanted and I am sure it will hold through the event I'm attending. However, you could tell they were short staffed because they were running behind and my stylist had to miss her (well deserved) break. They probably should space out appointments more and give their stylists the mandated breaks they need. I may go to the one in Newport instead in the future. read more

All the reviews are true. I had an 11:00 appointment and the stylist didn't start working on me until 11:30. I asked for a blowout and a braid and I think my 13 year old sister could have done a better job with the braid. It was embarrassingly bad looking. I ended up taking out the braid when I got home. My experience at the Drybar at Irvine Spectrum was extremely disappointing.I do have to say that every other Drybar location that I have been to in the past two years of having a membership has been wonderful. My daughter granddaughter and I were coming to the Drybar to have a good beginning to our Christmas celebration. It was the first Christmas since my husband passed so we were hoping to do something different and special. Unfortunately we were stopped from entering the parking area due to a protest going on. The police shut down the street leading to the parking lot at the Irvine Spectrum. Since I could tell that we weren't going to make it within the grace period I made sure to call. We were promised to at least get one blow out and the other 2 would be dry styles if we could make within a certain amount of time. We really tried our best and my granddaughter got out of the car to run and get there within the timeframe set by the front desk people. When she got there, they said that all they could do was a dry style. When I arrived after hurrying through the Spectrum and leaving my daughter to find parking, the front desk people offered to give me a dry style too. I really wish that we had both declined a dry style since what they did for my granddaughter was next to nothing and she was finished in a super short time. Our frustration was complete when we were charged for our dry styles and my daughter's dry style who didn't even get there for a long time because of the police blocking the entrance to the parking. $105 later and we weren't pleased with the results! The worst thing about the experience was the way we were treated. The front desk people didn't know about the protest and really didn't seem to care. There weren't any customers waiting for hair appointments and it looked to us as if there was only one person working there when we went by there a little later. The shop is supposed to be open until 10:00 but it was very obvious that everyone had gone home. I reached out to customer service and received an email from Kelsey Flanagan where she tried to explain that there was a misunderstanding and that she would refund some of the money and give us a complimentary blow out. Then she sent another email and apparently she had spoken to the manager of the shop and she declined to give us anything other than a $17 refund. Being called a liar is something that I have never experienced when dealing with people who want to keep my business. This is just bad business for them. I recommend that you never go to the Irvine Spectrum Drybar and instead give your business to the Drybar at Victoria Gardens where you will be treated with respect. The stylist that styled my hair was Parker, and girlllllll 10/10 recommend! She made me feel super comfortable and gave her suggestions. Love the dry bar! I've been here a few times now and haven't been disappointed! I always show them a picture of how I want my hair to turn out and it always looks amazing after! They also offer you coffee or a mimosa while you're getting a blowout ! I usually come before I have an event ! I ask them to barely use any hair spray because once they really over did it ! They have something called a dry style- wash your own hair and make sure it's dry then they will style it for only $25! I do personally prefer this since I love using my own shampoo products! Also called on Monday and said I would get a response between 24-48 hours which never happened either... I got a call from them and answered it and there was nobody on the other line. Received an email saying they couldn't reach me . I came in to get my hair styled (dry styling) for graduation and because I had heard good things about this place from a friend. I came in with slightly damp hair and was told I would be charged the full blow out price (double what I was expecting to pay). She proceeded to blow dry my hair for a couple minutes then curled my hair. Appointment was on time, so that was nice and the products smelled nice. However, my hair fell by the time I went to graduation and I had even put extra hairspray in. The curls looked nothing like "beachy waves". $50 didn't feel worth it to pay for two minutes of blow drying and some curls I could have done at home. read more
