Du Bu Gong Bang makes their tofu fresh every morning, and you can genuinely taste the difference. Started with their signature black sesame firm dubu with kimchi -- so much better than packaged tofu. The spicy seafood soon dubu (shrimp, oyster, squid) was rich and comforting, and the seafood scallion jeon came out massive and crispy. Also got the la kalbi, which fell right off the bone. Every dish comes with rice, four side dishes, and steamed cabbage -- great value and portions. Will definitely be back.

Upscale Korean tofu spot with lots of veggie-forward, healthier options. Menu is extensive but easy to follow. Very busy, with a more self-service setup for utensils. Food was clean and fresh overall, though a few dishes (like the mushroom perilla) felt slightly underseasoned. Pro tip: scrape the rice from the stone pot and add hot water for scorched rice soup--don't skip this. Also seems that there are daily specials! (See pics)

The house-made tofu is wonderful! However, we must have came on a bad day; service didn't even give us a beverage, let alone acknowledge us, until I flagged someone down over 20 minutes into being seated at a table.. That shrouded the entire experience for us.

A pretty good traditional Korean restaurant that serves tasty tofu stew. It was quite busy last weekend when we tried this place out and it was recommended by my friend's friend. Service was excellent and they recommended their popular dishes. The side dishes were pretty good, but limited. Portion size and price were not bad. My favorite was the oyster seaweed soon dubu with the grilled mackerel.

Overall Solid, busy Korean tofu spot with good service and a cute, clean vibe. I came in extra excited because they make their own tofu, but the food leaned more modern and Americanized than I hoped, so I can't give it a full 5. Price and value Pricing felt average for today's economy. Not cheap, not outrageous. The in house tofu is a cool value add, even if it didn't fully hit the "wow" level I've had from tofu shops in Korea. Food and flavor The biggest thing to know: the flavor profile felt more catered to modern tastes that are sweeter and spicier rather than the more traditional OG style. That's not "bad," just different. If you're expecting Korea level authenticity and balance, set expectations accordingly. What to order Best bet: stick to the OG sundubu stews, especially the spicy options. That's where this place shines the most, and it's the safest way to have a satisfying meal here. What I'd skip The pancakes were not worth it to me. They felt too thick and batter heavy, with not enough filling for the flour ratio. I'd rather spend that stomach space on stew and tofu focused dishes. Service Service was pretty good. Staff was attentive and the overall experience felt well run. Atmosphere and wait Atmosphere was cute and clean, but it's very popular. Expect a wait unless you make a reservation ahead of time. Recommendation If you're in Georgia and craving a more authentic leaning Korean tofu experience (by US standards), this is worth visiting. Just go in knowing it's more modern, sweeter, and spicier than traditional OG style. Order the OG spicy sundubu stews, skip the pancakes, and you'll have a much better time.

Atlanta has a lot of good Korean food, and this place is definitely on the list for tofu stews! I ordered the spicy tofu + egg stew, and it came with crispy stone pot rice. Personally, the crispy rice was a bit too hard and dry, but it still tasted delicious. Stew was great! Pretty comparable to ones I've had in S. Korea, though maybe a tad bit less flavorful. Definitely prepare yourself for a wait if you come on a weekend or busy time, we waited around 40 min (at least Teso is next door so we shopped around!). It was busy inside so food also took quite long to come out, around 30 minutes. However, having the side dishes (banchan) to snack on while waiting was nice.

My husband and I stopped in on a weekend afternoon and were seated right away. The decor is modern with a zen vibe. It's very cute. As soon as we were seated and placed our order, we were served complimentary hot barley tea. Napkins and utensils are conveniently stored in the table drawer, and the servers bring plates, bowls, scissors and tongs as needed. I was a bit unsure why the bowls were provided, but the server explained that traditionally people mix the rice from the stone bowls into the regular bowls and then pour the hot barley tea into the stone bowl. This softens the crispy, slightly burnt rice crust and creates a nutty and savory tea you can enjoy. My husband and I ordered the following dishes: 1. Seafood Scallion Jeon (small size) 2. Spicy Oyster Soon Dubu with LA Kalbi Combo (He upgraded the plain rice to Umami Mushroom Rice +$2.95). 3. Grilled Eel Sot Bap Combo served with a Small Plain White Soon Dubu (I upgraded this to spicy +$1). The Seafood Scallion Jeon had a perfect balance of chewy and crispy textures with a fresh scallion flavor combined with savory seafood. This was delicious and the small portion was more than enough for two people to share. The Spicy Oyster Soon Dubu was rich in flavor and had a generous amount of oysters. The LA Kalbi was well-seasoned and cooked to perfection with a satisfying smoky char. The upgrade from regular rice to the Umami Mushroom Rice for (+$2.95) added extra depth to the meal and was worth it! The Grilled Eel Sot Bap was topped with sliced ginger and scallions, then torched table-side for the final touch of sear. The result was amazing. Overall, both the food and service exceeded my expectations. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a wonderful dining experience.

As an out of state visitor, this place was absolutely divine and delicious!! The food came out quickly with great servers who were attentive. Inside the lighting was calming and the restaurant was clean, along with the tables that held the utensils. Bathrooms were clean also. Overall wonderful place and highly recommend!

Very friendly and welcoming service, and the food warms the soul. The LA Galbi was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. My spicy sundubu was good too, but it lacked a little depth this time around. I sat alone underneath the tree, which was a lovely spot.

Du Bu Gong Bang is a solid tofu restaurant located in the same shopping center as Chubby Cattle Shabu, Teso, and Sweet Hut. The service we receive is great. The staff is very attentive and respectful. The interior is clean with a very nice woodsy aesthetic. Napkins and utensils are all located in a drawer at each table. Food is super tasty! The menu is extensive and there's good combo options too. * Seafood Pancake ($19.95/Large): Yummy! * Eel Combo w/ Spicy Tofu Soup ($19.95): Very filling. I recommend paying the extra $1 for spicy soup though, the plain one is super bland. Eel is good and topped with eel sauce on a bed of rice. * Galbi Combo w/ Tofu Soup ($29.95): Always a good one to order! * Oysters Combo w/ Tofu Soup ($24.99) All orders come with side dishes (kimchi, fish cake, sesame veggies, etc) and cabbage wraps. Portions are big and definitely shareable. I'm a fan!

This was my second time here - the first time I did not review because I think it was a fluke - service was extremely slow and disappointing on a busy day, our waitress forgot to put our order in so we sat for 1 hr waiting before they realized. They offered one of the cheaper items on their menu - a cabbage dumpling for free but it was not very good nor enough to make us feel better. The second time we were served promptly and service was good. Food is great - the black sesame tofu didn't really taste like tofu but was still good. Fried fish is delicious and so is the soondubu. Pancake is also good. I would give it 5 stars if the service wasn't terrible the first time. Pretty large restaurant and really cute/aesthetic ambiance.

    Altogether.

Wow...if you want a nice dining Korean style experience, this is the place to be! The ambience is very zen and relaxing. The staff are super nice and helpful. I was seated pretty quick and they immediately brought a pot of hot tea. The air was a bit stuffy as everything was made pretty hot. Luckily, today has been a pretty cold day. It is about 5:28pm and the night is drifting off to the dark. Overall, the price wasnt bad at all for the amount of food you get and I was able to bring some food to go too. I highly recommend it!

One of the best meals I've had in Duluth! We got the soondubu and grilled mackerel. It came with some side dishes, ssamjang, steamed cabbage, and stone bowl white rice. The grilled mackerel was soooo good. So crispy yet tender! Soondubu was really good too. Spicy one had a nice kick to it. You eat the white rice then pour hot water in the stone bowl to make a nooroongji and that with kimchi was so delicious! Highly recommend going here if you're in the area!

My partner and I came in around roughly 9:50-10pm. When we arrived we're were initially informed that we had to order soon because they were closing in 30 minutes and were understandings of that. Shortly after we were seated, (literally 1-2 minutes) about 3 employees came to our table letting us know we needed to order within the next few minutes. It was like 10:05. I tried asking one of the employee what the meat options were and was just interrupted by him being persistent in us ordering and did not really answer our questions, mainly because I noticed some of the meat options were pork and I do not consume pork for personal reasons. My partner and I felt overwhelmed and just ordered something we thought would not include pork. After submitting our order another employee came by with the check already without us asking insisting for us to pay before our food even came out. Mind you the restaurant closed within 20 minutes at this point. When our food did come out, it did contain PORK!!! We just left shortly afterwards and left the food on the table.

I was absolutely obsessed with the smell of this restaurant before I even went in! I appreciated them, giving us two grills, and the staff actually cook the meat for you. I wish I was sitting more towards the left grill because whoever cooked the pork belly on that side made sure the flame was hot enough and it cooked the pork thoroughly while also making it crispy on the outside. In front of me, the griller did not make the heat high enough so it took a while for the pork to be fully cooked. She told us it was done and it was still kind of chewy so I kept swapping back-and-forth from the left grill onto this one. That's the only reason why I gave it a four instead of a five out of five was because I did not like the way they cooked part of our pork. It was so chewy the fat was not cooked at all, but it was an easy fix. I just had to cook it longer on the other grill but again we shared two grills between eight people so 1/2 of our group got to eat more than us. I like how the pork doesn't have a really strong, pork smell, and it tasted very good like it was seasoned properly. I absolutely love the kimchi! I love how this restaurant stays open pretty late so we can enjoy eating and drinking. It's such a nice casual place to hang out. For dessert, we had kimchi fried rice haha. It was such a great night!

We were greeted quickly at both the door and table. For a dumpling house, there weren't that many options for dumplings. We order two types of dumplings, a noodle dish and an entree on recommendation of the staff. The pork soup dumplings were very soupy on the inside and had a good flavor. The pan fried bao dumplings were alright but morning to write home about; I thought the bun to filling ratio was good for a bao though. For noodles we got the house rice noodles. I typically don't order this but I thought it was really well done with a good ratio of ingredients and flavor. Lastly we ordered the sales egg pork ribs. They were cut to bite size pieces but that's deceptive since they were bone in. Some pieces were all bone and some all meat. While the flavor was good, some might call it dry and the cut made it difficult to eat. While the seasoning for all the dishes were flavorful, I thought the salt was a little heavy. We found a restaurant not far from the matcha shop. It felt more like a Chinese takeout spot than a traditional sit-down restaurant, so there wasn't much to speak of in terms of decor. We decided to share everything we ordered. The first dish we tried was the Szechuan noodles. The flavor was excellent, but unfortunately, the dish arrived only lukewarm, as it appeared to have been sitting for a while before being brought to the table. Next, we ordered soup dumplings, but the restaurant accidentally brought out pan-seared dumplings instead. Thankfully, they let us keep them while they prepared our original order. The pan-seared dumplings were actually very good--piping hot and full of flavor. When the soup dumplings finally arrived, they were decent but didn't quite live up to the pan-seared version and lacked the same level of flavor. Finally, our Szechuan chicken arrived. It was hot, fresh, and delicious. The chicken was crispy with a great spice profile that delivered the classic Szechuan kick without being overwhelming. It was served with fried rice, which was fine but nothing particularly memorable. Overall, the experience was good but not exceptional. The food had some strong points, especially the Szechuan chicken and pan-seared dumplings, but the restaurant ultimately felt more like a solid Chinese takeout spot than a destination dining experience.

My second favorite is the dry spicy mix, shown in my photo. After experimenting with the different broths, this became my preferred choice. The dishes were well prepared, flavorful, and served in generous portions, making for a satisfying dining experience. One thing to note is that because of the large open dining room and the number of guests, the noise level can become quite high during busy hours. If you enjoy a vibrant, energetic atmosphere, you'll probably appreciate the lively environment. However, if you're looking for a quiet place for an intimate conversation or a peaceful dinner, you may want to visit during off-peak hours or choose another setting.
