    Beef Panang Curry

First time here, fell in love with the place. The green curry pork fried rice was very unique, and I say that coming from California and saturated competitive Asian districts. The flavor was incredible, I can't wait to be back to try it again. Aromatic and crunchy. The restaurant itself has been there since 2006 and is authentic Thai. The owners are so chill and friendly, they feed some stray cats that live under the shed outside, so the entire vibe is familiar and relaxed, so nice. The ambiance is great too, they have candles, wooden carved decor and a lot of air circulation/filtration which is an important detail I love in any restaurant. We'll be back

Made my first visit here today for lunch. Do not allow the outside appearance scare you off. It was clean inside, the staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. The soup with the small portions of spring rolls had a very good flavor. The cashew nut with chicken was really good. Good prices especially the lunch deal. Recommended.

Food is legit! Pineapple duck curry and vegetable pad Thai both Thai hot. Some of the best Thai food we have ever had.

This tiny Thai Restaurant is so cozy and inviting! It's a nice quiet place for an amazing authentic meal. It appears to be family owned and operated, and all of the staff is so friendly and attentive. My favorite dish is the Chicken Pad Thai, of course. The medium spice level I chose was perfect for my liking. The dish was loaded with plenty of chicken and was so full of flavor that I could taste every ingredient. I can't wait to go back!

The owners are so sweet! We really enjoyed speaking with them as well as our delicious food! So much flavor. So much spice. Absolutely amazing. We loved the papaya salad, pork satay, chili paste shrimp (the shrimp was perfectly cooked) and spicy basil noodles with beef. I will be back!

We revisited Duang Tawan. Same lovely, shack of a restaurant, lol. But still has the best, by far, Thai food we have had in Baton Rouge. I had the same basil beef with rice. Chock full of onions, bell pepper, bamboo strips, beef, hot pepper, and a savory and semissweet sauce. Served over jasmine rice. They know how to cook their vegetables. Not until they are totally limp, but still having a tiny bit of crunch. The basil flavor is what I come for. So many Thai places cook with basil, but Duang Tawan knows how to infuse their dish with it. Staying on our top Thai list!!! Will be back.

I got the Panang and Tom Yum from here that's was pretty good, even my boyfriend he is Laos said that this place got the better Thai food he ever tried in BR. This is the mom-and-pop store, good environment, cozy and y'all know that when it is the family restaurant it always hit good!! The service is amazing, she is really caring she makes me feel like my mom. Plus if you are want it spicer they can do it too, for me that makes the food taste more like the original one, but don't do it if you can't handle good in spicy. Btw i know the pictures suck lol.

Then I remembered this Indian restaurant that I tried before, even though my husband has not. I visited this place back when it was still smaller and had not expanded yet. I still remember the food being delicious so I was really excited to come back. We went around lunch time and it was not too busy. We decided to do the buffet since I knew they added it after the expansion, but I never got a chance to return until now. The buffet was 19.99 per person. I am not sure if that was a holiday price or the regular price. The food was amazing and full of flavor. I really enjoyed the mushroom masala and the butter chicken. Their goat curry was also very good, the meat did not have any strange taste or smell. I do not usually like goat so I was hesitant, but this one surprised me and I actually liked it. The service was super nice and attentive. The server noticed we did not have naan because they were out at the moment, and when the fresh batch came out he brought it to our table right away. He talked to every table and made sure everyone was doing good, and he also listened to feedback. Everything was great, but me and my husband both felt that having a few more food options would make the buffet even better. The selection was still on the smaller side, although I do understand Indian food can be more expensive and time consuming to prepare. I do wish they had samosas and garlic naan. The regular naan is good but garlic naan always hits different. If you do not want buffet you can also order plates instead. After about thirty minutes I noticed a lot more people started coming in, which means this place is well loved and popular. Overall it was a good experience. The price is a little high for the amount of selection, but the food quality is top tier so it still feels worth dining in. We would definitely come back again

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with stellar customer service that set the tone for our entire experience. Our waiter, Justice, was truly delightful. It was an absolute pleasure being served by him. He was incredibly friendly, patient and attentive, especially with our party of 14, which included children. His attention to detail and welcoming demeanor stood out, and his positive energy elevated our experience. Justice went above and beyond, and his efforts did not go unnoticed! The entire staff working on Saturday, April 4 was top notch. Everyone we encountered was warm, helpful and professional. We specifically found this restaurant because we searched online for gluten free restaurants, so we were excited to see that you offered a separate gluten free menu. However, there are some serious issues with the accuracy of that menu that need to be addressed. When we asked about the pork rinds brought to the table, we were told they are fried in the same oil as everything else. That in itself is your choice as a restaurant, and we understand cross contamination can happen. We were also told the french fries are cooked in beef tallow in a separate fryer, but they are not considered gluten free, which is why they are not listed on the gluten free menu. Again, that is completely understandable. What is not acceptable is having items listed on the gluten free menu that are not actually gluten free due to cross contamination. The pork rinds and cheddar filled tater tots were both listed on the gluten free menu despite being fried in shared oil with gluten containing foods. For someone with celiac disease, this is not a small mistake or a dietary preference issue. My husband has celiac disease, and if he had eaten the pork rinds based on trusting the gluten free menu, he could have become extremely ill and potentially needed hospital care. Our daughter has gluten sensitivity, and she would have been sick for the rest of the night as well. Many people still treat gluten free as if it is just a fad diet, but for people with celiac disease, it is a serious autoimmune condition that causes real physical harm. To the OWNER: please educate your staff and kitchen on what gluten free truly means, and update the menu so customers can trust it. People with celiac disease should not have to risk getting sick because menu items are mislabeled.
