I recently moved into a condo where the previous owner smoked indoors, and though I did my best to clean out the smell of cigarette I noticed it lingered in certain rooms. In addition, the ceilings were textured throughout the unit when I moved in, and I had them smoothed out, which kicked up a TON of dust. I hired DUCTZ of NOVA to do a basic cleaning of the vents around the unit for the dust and use an odor eliminating spray for the cigarette smell as well. The two workers arrived right within the window of time we had scheduled, were very kind and understanding (I live on the third/fourth floors of a building with no elevators, and they had heavy equipment to carry up) and got to work immediately -- keeping me totally informed along the way. Eventually, they showed me photos of my HVAC fan and coils, which were absolutely covered in dust and even pointed out some mold that was growing in it. They calmly and patiently answered all of my questions, explaining how the system was being affected and what I could expect down the line, and in the end I decided to have them do a deeper cleaning to get rid of all the dust, grime and mold. They did it all right then and there and even took "after" photos to show me the huge difference it had made. It's been about a day since they came and my home feels fresh and clean, and there's no more cigarette stink!! I would definitely recommend this company to anyone. The scheduling process was easy, workers were good at their job and had a positive attitude, and the price was very favorable. I had reached out to 4 other companies that refused, this site did not even question my exposure or line of work. Duct cleaning took less than 30 mins for my one bedroom condo, $515. If you're running out of options and will get an additional condo fee for not servicing on time, this is a desperate option. Ductz came out to our house this morning after we called to schedule a duct and dryer vent cleaning over the phone. On the phone we were quoted $565 total for both services (including a "special" they were offering discounting the dryer vent cleaning). The technicians gave us a heads up for their arrival and did arrive on time. However, within 5 minutes of being in our house and inspecting our furnace and AC unit, we were recommended an additional $500 worth of cleaning services above and beyond our initial quote. While I understand that there are things that cannot be identified until an inspection takes place, there was zero mention on the phone that the visit would include an inspection and that other services and costs might be recommended as a result. After stomaching the surprise doubling of the cost, the visit concluded with noticeable dirt and damage surrounding our main return including drywall damage on a previously unmarred and recently painted wall. When I asked the technicians if they would be addressing the damage, they informed me that damage is something that can happen as part of their process and it was not their responsibility to address it. It was clear the techs were frustrated by my complaints and were becoming equally frustrated at having to explain things to me. At this point I called the management office to complain. I shared feedback about having been frustrated by the surprise added costs and asked what they were going to do to address the damage in my home. Not only did I not receive a single apology for the first 20 minutes of our call, the office tried to double down on not taking responsibility for the damage to my home by stating that it was "part of their usual process". After continuing to express my frustration with that unacceptable level of professionalism, I was offered a $75 credit. Upon expressing my dissatisfaction with this credit, I was offered $125 off my total bill of over $1000 to address the failure in communication as well as the damage I now have to find someone else to come and address. After the technicians left, I discovered additional damage and mess around my house including drywall dents and scuffs on the basement floor from their equipment. My home certainly smells cleaner and the after photos appear to show much cleaner ducts, furnace, and AC unit - but I would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone unless you are willing to accept potential damage to your home as part of the process and added mess. read more

Ductz came to clean our dryer duct, which tbey did but also blew a hole in it, then said we had to replace the duct with a hard duct. They made an appt. for 1 month later because they couldn't fit it in earlier. The morning of the appt., at precisely the time they were supposed to arrive, they called to say they had to reschedule because their truck had broken down. They came 9 days later on time. They proceeded to pull out the old, flexible duct from the wall by the dryer and began to say that this job was going to take a long time and so called their boss who said they would have to come back a week later to continue it, even though they had been there only 1 hour and had already postponed the job. I said the job had to be completed that day because of the mess they were leaving. They then got up and left, with my dryer area in a mess and the duct hanging out of the wall. The company never called back. This is my definition of an unreliable company whose workers are apparently without planning abilities or needed skills. They had not told me earlier that this would be a long job. Or, worse, they destroyed the duct on purpose in order to be able to make a more expensive repair. read more

Little late with this review. I bought my first house in 2005 and they were the company I called. Abe the ower came out himself and did the job. He did a great job on cleaning out the vents. Abe has come by several times since then to check on my vents. I have used their other serves as well. I had them clean the carpets a few years ago and for the price I was happy. Last but not lest I had a water leak in my ac unit. Ducts came out and help me fix the leak as well as pump out the standing water. I know this seems long but there was a lot of good things to say about these guys. If u call, ask for Abe and tell him Beebo sent u. :) read more

Talked directly with owner to make appointment. Was fine and accommodating in making the appointment and were able to accomodate the day i wanted so I accepted even though I felt they were slightly overpriced based on the quotes I got from their competitors. They were to arrive between 1:00 -4:00 pm. on the scheduled day but got a call the next day from someone else stating they could move my appointment up to 9:00 am as they had had a cancellation. Told him that would be great! They called back about an hour later saying "oops" they were looking at the wrong day and they really don't have a morning appointment but they could still come at the original scheduled time. Ok, no worries. I was fine with that. The big day arrives!!!! 4:00 pm rolls around. They are a no call, no show. I call them at 4:15 pm to inquire when and/or if I should expect them to show up. They were still at their previous appointment which was a bigger job than they anticipated so they were going to be late. Maybe another couple hours even. Asked if I wanted to reschedule. I did not so they offered to still come out after the other job was done which I agreed to and apologized for making them have to work late on a Friday night. I didn't really want that either but hey, I took the whole day off to get this done. Fast forward to 5:00 pm. Owner calls and apologizes and offers $100.00 off to reschedule for another day. I declined his offer and advised I would find another option. From my perspective they do not have an effective scheduling system or front office help to ensure timely and effective service to all their customers. A shame really as the owner seems nice and tried his best to make up for the missed appointment. I would assume they do an effective job at cleaning vents but overall there are just way too many other service providers in this space to choose from to give them a second chance. read more

Making the appointment was the easy part. They show up to do the job and they immediately try to up sale me. You need level 2 cleaning and humidifying system has this and that. One problem, there is no connected humidifying system so I knew right away it was a scam. Then the young man tries to tell me my drier must not be working it's all blocked. Again minor problem,he was not even looking at the vent for the drier. At this point I have lost all faith in this company. I was originally told it will take a little over 2 hours. Well the vent system that was so clogged that needed level 2 cleaning only took them 40 min to do a three level house and they did not even clean some of the vents as I watched them go floor to floor. I'm not impressed at all. I used them because they came highly recommended by a company I trust but will not be using their service again. read more

We called Ductz to clean our vents and put up a bird guard (we were having problems with birds in our dryer vents once spring hit). They came out, did a seemingly great job, were easy to work with- a great experience. A week later, we had even more dust than we started with (it was very grainy- almost like sand), and a month later, the bird guard fell off and the birds moved right back into our vent. We called, hoping they'd come out and replace the guard since they had just installed it- not so. After another month of phone tag, they told us it would be another $150 to come out and repair it; we had already spent $742.00 to have them clean the vents and install a bird guard that would last longer than a month; we felt it was unfair of them to ask us to pay even more money to have the job fixed when it was their product/service that was defective. They even told us they'd be in the area next week and could come out and do it- we assumed that meant they were waiving the travel charge, and we offered to pay $75 for installation and the new guard, but they told us, "we're not coming out for just $75.00." I cannot in good faith recommend a company that doesn't stand behind their products and quality of workmanship. Unfortunately, we've had to contact the Better Business Bureau to resolve this issue, and hopefully we'll get the new guard in soon. read more

Our home had their air duct vents cleaned by ductz of nova.The two gentlemen who came to my house Phil and Dexter were both professional and courteous. Their quality of work was outstanding. Not only did they make sure to be thorough but also made sure to clean up after themselves through out our home. Sweeping up their messes along the way and inspected all the places they did work through out my home to make sure everything was clean and put back in place. Both gentleman were kindly aware of my two children and made sure to let me know if it was going to be loud or when they needed access to personal areas such as the children's bedrooms. This was the first time I used Ductz-of Nova and I just wanted to compliment you on the awesome service. I called on Friday evening and not only was Ductz-of Nova the only ones who answered the phone but I was able to get an appointment for Monday. I was having major issues with my dryer and was on the verge of just breaking down and buying a new one. Ductz showed up on time on Monday and had my dryer fixed in under an hour. As a full time working mom I can't tell you how grateful I am. It literally used to take me all day just to dry one load of clothes and now I am able to dry a load of towels and sheets in just one dryer cycle.
