Been hearing and seeing this place all over town, so decided to give it a try. It was fairly empty on Monday night for dinner but they had tons of to go orders waiting to be picked up. We sat wherever we wanted and used a QR code to order. I wish there were photos for all the items on the online menu, but we ended up ordering the vegetables noodles, pork soup dumplings, shrimp siu mai, fried dough and sesame balls. Everything came out pretty fast, but we did for the dumplings to cook so that took awhile. We really enjoyed the noodles and I personally enjoyed the dumplings more than the siu mai. Noodles were topped with tons of veggies too! Soup dumpling wrapper was a little too thick but the soup inside was flavorful. The fried dough tasted just like a less sweeter version of a donut. This restaurant recently replaced Pho restaurant that was there for many years. As far as the ambiance, the welcome was lukewarm at best. I was seated quickly along with a glass of water and a practically tossed menu placed immediately on my table. I witnessed other groups who just sat down before I did, still waiting for service. After waiting more than 15-minutes to be acknowledged, I decided to place my order to-go. Very casual fast foody place that order from an app and have single use utensils The xlb was pretty legit. The pan fried dumplings 生煎包was ok as the dough was too thick. Also got the 辣子鸡 (chicken thigh fried hard with dried chilis), it was good and not too spicy. The garlic string beans 四季豆was ok as not tasting too much garlic flavor. I came here for dinner at like 7pm on a Friday, and it was packed. We had to wait about 15-20 min so while we did, we put our drink orders in. We tried the Oreo smoothie (tastes just like Oreos), mango smoothie, taro milk tea with tapioca (could be sweeter), and coconut smoothie (mild with tad bit of coconut flavor). Major quality control issues with delivery. I ordered a dish that turned out completely inedible because it was loaded with an insane amount of salt. I ended up having to take it to my own kitchen to try and recook it just so it wouldn't go to waste. Hopefully, this was just an off-night for the kitchen, but definitely watch out. read more

Been super excited to try ever since they put up the coming soon sign. Fortunately, work is walking distance from this location. We went during the soft open and it was a great first experience. It was tough at first bc they were pretty busy and it's not the largest place. But we were able to get a table quick. It was clean in there and busy, you can even watch the employees prep the dumplings. We ordered the Szechuan Chicken story fry, pork dumplings, green beans, and pork bun. The food is delivered by their wonderful robotic server. I wonder if they named it yet. It seems to get paid pretty well bc it delivered our food quick. Lol. Everything was very delicious! I absolutely loved the dumplings. Thought they were the best I had in awhile. The bun was soft and tasteful! And the Szechuan chicken was fire. Super flavorful and had a nice spice to it. Since it was the soft opening they provided free drinks. Tried the milk tea, it wasn't the best but I think they're working on that. Overall, I definitely plan on going back. Got takeout on a weeknight. It was quite busy in the restaurant and very hot so we opted for takeout instead. Got the pork and cabbage dumplings, Shanghai pan fried noodles and the Szechuan chili chicken. We also got a hot and sour soup. The hot and sour soup wasn't the best. Very sour and not spicy. It was also $8 for a small container. The noodles were also quite dry and didn't have much flavor. The chicken was pretty good though! It was spicy and flavorful. The dumplings were also pretty good! They were juicy but the skin was on the thicker side. We also got two boba drinks from their soft opening special but they gave me the wrong drink. Overall, not a bad place for a quick bite but definitely on the pricier side for the quality. read more

Went back for a second time: was not as good. The dumplings/ wontons did not seem as fresh. Wonton skins were not soft, and they were falling apart/ breaking apart not in a good way. First time trying this and WE LOVED IT! everything was fresh and the ingredients and seasoning brought everything together. This is a great comfort meal for a cold night. The portion size is good. The spice was just right. And the dumplings Chef kiss!! Oh! they have these cute insulation bags so my food stayed hot while traveling back home. I had discovered this place on my way to another restaurant last week. I'm not gonna lie,they had me at the words fried noodles. The first thing i liked ,was the convenience of ordering from your table using their app. I unfortunately couldn't do this as I was out of Data. However I approached the counter and my order was taken so it was no biggie. So I chose the Shanghai pan fried noodle with beef and pork and chive dumplings steamed The noodles I'm gonna say were hit and miss. The appearance of them looked great. The taste was OK. To me it was like someone took some prepackaged Ramen tosted them in some sauce green onions,seasoning and bochoi. The noodles could have been a little more crispy since they were pan fried. However thats a personal preference based on my past of a simular dish where the noodles were crispier. However that may not have been the concept they were going for,with this dish.The eggs was over cooked almost to a burt consistency. Now you would think with all this negativity, I didn't like it. However far from the truth. Because it was like this ,to me it gave a feeling of authenticity . The dumpling were great as well. However they did have a strange smell to them. Not to the point that I wouldnt gladly order them again though. The taste was quite pleasant though. I also found them to be a nice size as well. They do have a nice selection of fancy teas. I chose water. Would have been nice to have had some unsweetened tea. But maybe doing so might take away from the authenticity of the place. I may return to try some of their other dishes. read more

I'm surprised by the low rating of Dumpling Master given our experience. We went for dinner on a Monday evening and got one of the last tables available. You order using a QR code and water was brought promptly. The beef Shanghai noodles were really good! Large enough to share and was super flavorful. We also ordered some fried chicken dumplings that were huge! Two of us ate for less than $30 which is a steal given rising prices. I think it's worth checking out! read more

I came in and ordered to go during lunchtime, but it wasn't too busy. They had nice music playing and it's well lit. I was greeted and ordered pork soup dumplings, garlic green beans & a brown sugar boba. They were out of tapioca pearls and suggested I try the crystal pearls, and she charged me for them. Not terrible, I just feel they could've worked with me on that. The food is def made to order and I waited for about 15 minutes. They out my bag on a to go shelf instead of handing it to me, so I didn't know it was ready. Food wise though, it's really good. The green beans are flavorful and crunchy & they came with rice. This is a sit down restaurant in a small shopping plaza. I was greeted promptly upon walking in. It was a nice day weatherwise so outdoor seating was optimal! The food was amazing. The cucumber salad & vegetable spring rolls were great. This was my 1st time trying steamed beef dumplings & they were amazing!! After eating the appetizers, I honestly wanted to try 1 of everything on the menu. Instead I narrowed it down to the Shanghai Fried Noodles w/shrimp. It was A-MAZING! While eating a Pork Bao from the Decatur Dumpling Master location, I bit into a ¾-inch piece of metal and badly chipped a tooth. The metal was hard and sharp. If I had swallowed it, it could have caused serious internal injury to my esophagus or stomach. The metal appears consistent with a fragment from a meat grinder. The on-site manager was apologetic and agreed to pay my dental bill. However, despite my repeated requests to hear from an owner about what steps were being taken to ensure this doesn't happen again, no owner ever contacted me. All Dumpling Master locations in the Atlanta area are operated under the same local ownership group. I am posting this review so customers can make an informed decision before eating at a Dumpling Master. Hard, sharp metal in food is a serious safety failure. read more

Dumpling Master is a perfectly fine spot for soup dumpling junkies like me. There are only two choices here (pork or pork & shrimp), which is much more limited than the menu at Northern China Eatery -- but the taste & quality is great, the service is a bit different than the usual restaurant -- you scan the menu and order from yoir phone, as many courses as you wish. Seating is limited and always a wait. But the to-go counter for pick up and door dash type deliveries stayed busy as well. read more

Disaster. They refused service to my whole family because of my licensed and trained service dog. Management said they don't know if anyone was allergic so they could not serve us. This restaurant just opened in my area. I have to say the dumplings didn't compare to the restaurant I went to on Buford highway that is michelin star rated and makes soup dumplings. We had both pork and chicken soup dumplings. The pork had very little flavor and just seemed to be mostly ground pork and no savory aspect. The chicken dumplings had more umami flavor. The dumplings themselves were just okay for me having had handmade dumplings from another restaurant they didn't compare. I also had the szechuan chicken with seemed battered and hard and had only tiny strings of onions and barely any of those. It was overcooked and chewy and I wouldn't order it again. Two in our group had ramen and one was spicy and he seemed to enjoy it and the other was not and she seemed to be just okay with it and one of us had fried rice with shrimp and it looked really good and he seemed to enjoy it but when I asked if they would return they just looked at me and said maybe. I guess it felt like a franchise to me and as in if your name has lobster in it you should be awesome at cooking and serving lobster I feel like if your name has dumpling and master in it your dumplings should absolutely be above the rest. They aren't though. I was so looking forward to this restaurant opening in Snellville and I hope they work on their menu offerings and do better because having just opened here I was expecting it to be optimal and I was disappointed. The front staff were doing an awesome job waiting on people and serving them and our food came out timely as well so that was good. We didn't taste the food. We arrived and one gentleman was before us on the waitlist. After 10 minutes a couple with two children showed up. We mentioned there was a wait list, he said he hoped they were on it because they checked on saw there weren't tables 'a long time before' so thought they would come back. I asked the server why they were seated before the next in line ( a gentleman and his son), and she began arguing with me, loudly, making up reasons why they seated the group of four and shouting because they stopped by 30 minutes ago they should be seated, although they weren't on a wait list. Additionally, while standing in the restaurant, the rest of us were outside because the new space is extremely tight, one of the people ordered a drink while waiting so they got the table. We were told we couldn't order anything until a table was available. The attitude put us off so we left. We won't go back to this location or any other of this chain. Working in hospitality, we have no patience for this type of service. Sure, newly opened restaurants always have kinks to work out but bad service shouldn't be one of those kinks. I'm posting because too often people just leave or never return. Restaurants should know why. I will also be contacting the restaurant directly. We ordered hot and sour soup and wonton soup! Server finally brought the bowl of lukewarm wonton soup when we had almost finished the cold dumplings!!
