Dumpling u was a delicious spot we stumbled upon when our first choice fell through. What a blessing! We ordered some dumplings and chicken fried rice to share. The portions were big and enough to share and take home. Service was great. It was really busy for a Friday at lunch but we received our meal faster than expected. Came for their soft opening and was so excited to see we got a legit dumpling spot finally open here in Fresno! I appreciate the effort into the design and feel of the dining area. Great place for casual dining. Be sure to join waitlist when you can. It was an hr wait within just 15-20min of opening. You know it's legit when the first thing you see when you walk in are the two aunties wrapping the fresh dumplings by hand! Having just returned from visiting Shanghai their xia long baos reminded me of the iconic Nanxiang Steamed Bun restaurant (南翔馒头店). I also like that they make them larger than ones you would get from Din Tai Fung (鼎泰豐) which helps keep the dumplings warmer. One order was plenty for two people to share with two other items. The xia long baos passed the pick up test. The wrapper are supposed to be delicate and yet they did not rip or tear when picking them up from the steam basket. The soup inside has the perfect umami flavoring and they're so perfect for cold weather. Their beef rolls are a must try - it's like a Chinese style burrito wrap made with a flakey crispy pancake wrap with a little chewy texture. The beef shank inside was cooked perfectly - normally takes 3-4hrs to braise it so soft! Can't wait to come back to try their beef noodle soup and pan fried dumplings! Soft opening: walking in you automatically see the dumpling ladies, which was giving din tai fung vibes which I love and appreciate! We ordered what we usually get at din tai fung not necessarily to compare but to see if this will be our spot when we have the cravings. We ordered the soup dumplings, schezuan dumplings, and braised beef noodles. The schezuan dumplings were ok. The sauce was really just chili oil, no other flavor. I felt like the dumpling itself did not have much taste to it. The braised beef noodles were cooked well. I loved the beef, bok choy, and noodles. The broth felt a little bland but once I put a little soy sauce in it, it was so good. Now to the dumplings... ok.. I really enjoyed the soup dumpling. By itself it has flavorful taste and you add the vinegar to it and it's 10x's better. Service was ok. I think they're new so I'll give them grace. I feel like after looking at the menu, I knew it more than the server. BUT, the place has a lot of potential and I definitely am coming back to try more! read more

Very excited to try this place, but didn't realize that it had become so popular so quickly. Be prepared to wait unless you join the Yelp waitlist in advance. Inside there's nearly no waiting area so if there's inclement weather, everyone is going to pack in by the door and the rest of us will be suffering outside or staying in our car monitoring the online waitlist. Inside there are two different rooms, which is good if you have a large party because you can essentially have space to yourself and then there's a very large dining room with many tables and booths. The wait time that we have noticed on the two evenings we've come during the weekday are roughly 35 to 45 minutes in the evening. We opted to try the spicy wonton, XLB, beef noodle soup, and the house special beef roll. The spicy wonton was nice, although Jingle Bao has a better and more flavorful spicy wonton. The XLB had great flavor as did the beef noodle soup. We were a little disappointed with the house special beef roll. It was a little too greasy for my liking and lost that flaky crusty texture within about 20 minutes. Service was great although the food coming out was really slow. We chalked that up to a soft opening. They have complementary iced tea next to the register while you wait. I thought that was a really thoughtful touch because it cost nearly nothing and is not water. We saw many orders of noodles come out and will definitely be back to try that. read more

It's one of my good friends birthday. I made reservations the night before for a lunch date 11:30am through the Yelp app (love the convince and highly recommend). Initially made reservations for 5 but there was only my friend and I with my two kids. We arrived 3mins before our 11:30am reservations. It's currently their Soft Opening. The interior is so cute!! As we entered we were greeted and you can see them making dumplings. I told them I had reservations and we were promptly seated. The lunch crowd followed after. The workers were really nice and attentive. My friend and I ordered to share. Our order: House Special beef roll, custard bun, steamed mantou, char siu bun, chicken deep fried dumplings, and house special sausage fried rice. Took about 20min for our food to arrive, once one plate arrived they all started to trickle in. Everything came out fresh and hot. The food was amazing!! The custard buns were delicious and so cute, made into pig characters my daughter loved it. The char siu bun was my favorite the meat was so flavorful and it just melted in my mouth. The special beef roll was my friend's favorite it was a mix of sweet and salty. The fried dumplings were delicious. Didn't realize the steamed mantou was just the steam bun with no filling. The house fried rice was perfection! Towards the end of service they were so busy and we were waiting for one of our servers to return so that we could order more food to try and also to go. It took a while for them to come back but it was understandable as they were quite busy so we just decided to order to go. We were seated in the smaller dinning room where all of the tables were filled and it was a bit loud I was having a hard time hearing what my friend was telling me and she was in front of me. For limited time they are also giving out super cute re-usable bags. Overall we enjoyed our food! The restaurant is clean and the staff is so friendly! Stopped here for lunch with friends. Overall our experience was great. We ordered cucumber salad, dry string beans, tan tan noodles, pan fried chicken dumplings, and my friends ordered the soup dumplings. The service was great and quality was definitely comparable to Din Tai Fung. The reason I only gave it 4/5 stars is because there's no option for chicken soup dumplings. They only have pork or pork/shrimp mixed. I would've even been happy for shrimp only soup dumplings. Maybe this is something you can add to the menu like Din Tai Fung. We had gone for lunch. The beef shank is flavorful and you can't go wrong with a scallion pancake. Tan tan noodles were really good as well. Lots of flavor and good spice. Pork soup dumplings lacked some flavor. The soup is heavy on the white pepper, which I do love, but could use some other flavors to balance it out. Pan fried pork dumplings had a different soup base that seemed soy sauce based and was a little sweeter than the soup dumplings. A good option. No complimentary tea unfortunately. 20/10 Best place in town for dumplings! I couldn't wait to get home and I'm currently sitting at the restaurant still! It's THAT good! You definitely have to get their classic soup dumplings! Everything else was perfect, and flavorful. Their service is great even when they were really busy. They were quick to collect empty plates, so your table doesn't get too full of dishes. They even had two ladies in the front making the dumplings by hand behind a glass window. I tried to get pictures of most of our plates, but we were too hungry and missed a few! Love me some dumplings so let's get into it. We had reservations at 6:45 and seated promptly! Service was very good and they were pretty busy. They also have reservations available through yelp which is convenient and you're able to view how many people are ahead of you. They have people making the dumplings there and it's a cute experience. Something that Fresno does not have, and truly needs. As for the food. We got the *garlic noodles* usually I am all about salt but this was too salty. I would try another noodle dish next time. However, their noodles are thick and very good. *spicy pork soup dumplings* lacked flavor and was expecting more spice. Even adding the spicy chili sauce they have on the side still was not enough * Sichuan style wonton* I could probably eat these all day everyday lol. Pretty flavorful and tasted fresh! Highly recommend these. They were not spicy. *beef roll* also another really good dish, similar taste to bahn mi just wrapped in a flaky scallion pancake. Get these and share them. Music inside was vibey and the overall atmosphere was chatty and had good energy. This spot was delicious! Finally authentic dim sum / dumplings in Fresno! We loved the pork wontons in chili oil and the potstickers. The garlic noodles were almost Italian in nature but udon noodles, fun combo. The staff was also very kind and attentive. Will be back! read more

Incredibly excited to have visited tonight. We were on our way to a local dumpling house and saw the soft opening sign while driving past. We quickly flipped around and ran in to ask if they were open and if open to the public. They immediately sat our party of 3, brought water and took drink orders. Our knowledgeable dumpling super expert was Jasper and we are so happy that we sat in that section because the service was incomparable. Every wait staff there was kind and attentive. Let me say- start with no more than 4 items, we went a bit over board as our excitement grew in each discovery of their menu items and we definitely had food to take home. Get them, they are unlike green beans I've had before. Get the house beef roll - the flavor, the texture - my favorite dish here. Cucumber salad, crispy shrimp ball - recommend! Service was fine, the manager checking in on us towards the end of our meal was much better than our waitress. She didn't have any recommendations of her own aside from what was already marked as favorites on their menu. The ambiance is very casual and kind of loud. I personally won't be going back. I paid $85 for 3 people, which 1 of us was a 10 year old. She was the only one that liked the food. The 2 adults stopped eating after tasting the food. The only thing that was tasty was the House Special Beef Roll. The pork soup dumplings were disgusting and I am open to trying everything at least once. The chicken shumai had no flavor. The pork xlb was a bit salty and the wrappers were a little thicker than I'd usually like but they were juicy! Also, if you want ginger for your sauces you're going to have to ask. Pan fried pork buns were solid but would've been way better if they were fried for longer!!! I was really missing the crispy bottom. Came on a Friday evening and didn't have to wait. Was greeted and taken to our table. Seated along the wall, they have cushion seats and sauce options like , chili oil, soy sauce, and vinegar. The order: I got a bit of everything. Starting off with the beef rolls, a pretty generous amount of shredded braised meat inside with cucumber wrapped in this crepe-like wrap that's slightly crispy. Super filling dish and comes in 4 rolls. The honey walnut shrimp is a must order item, probably the biggest shrimp I've seen used for this dish. Tastes exactly like how honey walnut shrimp should taste like, beautifully fried, that's sweet and savory. I loved the Jajang noodles! Noodle doneness was perfect, the ground beef and cucumber were not overly salty, my daughter's fav dish. I also got the pans fried pork dumpling. It's steamed and fried well. Not burnt at all on the bottom, soft on top and has pork and vermicelli noodle filling. I dipped it with some sauce soy and chili oil, super delicious. Finally, the cute pork custard buns have a rich custard center that's sweet and the bun itself was soft and moist. Will order this again for sure and it makes my daughter happy cause it's so cute. Staff were attentive and friendly. Not a huge restaurant but adequate space for a lot of customers to dine in. Tables are busted down and cleaned quickly, and they have a tidy restroom for guests. We came here to try this place out on Wednesday. The food was good and tasty, service was fast. However the reason I am giving them a 1 star and if I could it will be a Zero is due to a bad burn I got from their food. My son ordered their Pan fried shrimp and pork Bun. When the waitress she didn't tell us they were pipping hot. I took a bite and right away their steamy-boiling liquid gushed out and burned my face badly. I had to put cold water on face and then ask for some ice as I could not stand the burning feeling on my face. The manager came and apologized but only took the item off the check and gave us a 20% percent off the check. I have been in pain and have bad burns on my lips, the skin between my upper lip and nose, the inside of my nose and some part for my cheek have been peeling off. Really wanted to love this place but they got the quality and the flavors all wrong. Starting the with XLB pork and crab - very bad flavor, low quality pork - with way too much fat. I know soup dumplings have fat but the soup pouring out of these is water mixed with lowest quality ground pork and the flavor is very off putting. The green beans tasted like the propane from the wok they cooked them on and the scallion pancake was super dry - they don't have proper napkins so I was forced to use 20 cocktail napkins as a substitute and they did not pack my to go box or ask if I wanted sides of sauce to go with my leftovers. Arrived around 8:15PM to pick up my to-go order of won ton soup and beef rolls. It was still busy but well staffed. Service/help was good but the cashier did not know if they charge more for using credit. Seems like something you'd want your cashier to know... The location seems very well staffed. Good preparation for the volume of business they are doing. Of course the viewable dumplings work station is awesome. Always enjoy seeing things being made. The food: $33ish 1) Won ton soup was over flavored and I didn't love the texture of the filling. It was tight, finely ground meat without variation in contrast. Was hoping it was going to be my new addiction but I much prefer other versions out there including from Jingle. Those versions have a better quality texture and shrimp added. 2) Beef Roll: One of the most delicious things ever tasted! So flavorful, textured with ample filling of both beef, veggies and sauce. Truly sublime! Glad I got to go as this place is overly packed and busy all day long. Not willing to fight the crowds to eat in or bring a guest. Again, delivery food is not going to be perfect. This was probably my favorite item that I ordered Hot and sour soup: ordered it extra hot and extra sour this time. It arrived slightly better than before. A bit too thick for my taste and not enough egg. Still not really sour or spicy enough for my taste. Still decent. 6.5/10. Pork soup dumplings: the worst I've ever had. No flavor at all. I know they don't recommend you get them for take out, but that shouldn't have affected the flavor. 1/10 Some Korean noodle dish that I didn't really enjoy. I'll refrain from rating that one since I'm not sure I know what it's supposed to taste like. Shrimp taro cake was okay.. Came with sweet chili sauce. 7/10. The chili oil was still very good. Love how when you walk in you see them preparing dumplings. Seating was nice, there's always a wait. The restaurant itself is kind of smaller than most but looks good, I like their seating with the cushions on the bench. Alright as for the food, I was disappointed. The TAN TAN noodles weren't bad but they also weren't mind blowing. Every sauce that was on our food literally tasted the same, an oily chili sauce with no spice whatsoever. I mean taste isn't bad it's just everything tasted the same literally, just different foods. Spicy wontons, a flop. Spicy and regular pork XLB was gross. The broth in it was weird didn't like it. Spicy is nonexistent. Shanghai wonton soup scary, little baby white shrimps floating all over and broth wasn't soothing it's was just a burst of flavor like a wonton soup you never had haha I didn't taste bad it was just different not my favorite. Pan fried pork dumplings, meatball inside looks suspicious. Like the skin on them how it was as thick but didn't really come out with a crispy bottom. Cucumber is great, super garlicky love that. Crepe cake, nothing fancy taste store bought, no razzle dazzle just layered cake with a light matcha whip filling. Maybe it's the stuff we ordered but this is what we would usually order at other dumpling places.... Kinda disappointing. Not worth the hype to me. Jingle bao was better. Great service! We went for my daughter's birthday and arrived right when they opened at 4:30 PM. It was already pretty busy, but our waitress was amazing..super friendly, personable, and answered all of our questions. Unfortunately, I didn't take any photos of the food, but we ordered several dishes since it's family-style with large portions. My favorite was definitely the spicy garlic noodles! We also ordered broccoli, dumplings, fried rice, and more. Our food came out incredibly fast, within about 5-10 minutes. Everything was delicious, and the service was fantastic.
