They need new coffee makers or grinders...Or an employee is doing something wrong to coffee. I am a Dunkin' donut worshipper for its coffee. Ive been to at least 35 different stores across the country and this stores coffee is consistently burnt and bad tasting. Has been for at least 2 years now. I will stop by every 2-3 months in hopes something has changed, but no. I will continue to drive to the HW 17 location until they fix problem or fix the attitude problem. Seriously ive even had day old coffee from a Dunkin' that tasted decent. This is just bad. Donuts are hit and miss. As is the service. No one really seems pleased to be there. But are pretty friendly to me at least. It keeps its business by location and brand name alone. read more

One of the worst experiences I've had with a Dunkin (the other being with the store off of 17). I placed my order ahead of time with the mobile app so that I could pick it up through the drive through. When I arrived at the location, there was an extremely long line. It quickly became obvious that the line was not due to an excess amount of customers, but because each car had to wait approximately 5 minutes before anyone greeted them on the intercom. So after waiting 20-25 minutes in line, I finally pulled up and told them I had a pick up order. After pulling up to the window, they handed me to my drink as if that was the only part of my order. I told them that I had also ordered hash browns and a breakfast sandwich. The employee went to check on it and told me that they were starting to make it now (meaning they either forgot or didn't pay attention to the order). A few moments later, he tells me they do not have the croissant for the sandwich. He offered a sourdough alternative which I said was fine. He then asked me to pull up and wait while it was cooked. After about 35 minutes, I finally received the sandwich and it was completely inedible due to how burnt it was (see attached photo). By this point I was already late due to an order-ahead drive through lasting 20 minutes longer than I would've imagined (I would imagine 15 minutes max, but 35 is ridiculous!) I don't write reviews often unless it's a memorable (good or bad) experience, but this was the second time I've had issues with this location having an extreme wait time for no apparent reason and issues with my food. I personally work in retail so I understand understaffing and "rush hour", but in my personal experience it seemed like the staff was simply being lazy and/or had not interest in doing their job in a prompt matter. And even if there was a legitimate reason for the wait, no food service should ever give out a sandwich that looks like THIS! Please do better. read more

Worst service ever! We went in for donuts on a Saturday at 11am and there was hardly anything to choose from. We asked if there were any others being made, but was told "what you see is all we have". It's a Saturday in a donut store that is open all day, but they don't make any new batches of donuts? The cashier was very rude and rushed us into picking our 12 donuts, acting extremely impatient and annoyed. They forgot to make one of our drinks, and we ended up waiting at the end of the counter for several minutes before anyone asked if we needed help. Won't be going back anytime soon. read more

I was charged $18.25 for 1/2 dozen doughnuts and 1 small coffee. The excessive amount didn't register until I had paid with my card and I asked the employee how much a 1/2 dozen doughnuts should cost, she looked that the ticket and then threw it away. I asked for a refund. She said she wasn't authorized. I asked to speak to her manager. She put the manager (I only got the name "Dy") on the phone and Dy said to come back tomorrow so she could issue a refund. I explained that wasn't acceptable to me and if she is the only one authorized to issue refunds she should come to her place of work to issue the refund. She said no and hung up on me. For the next few minutes, the employees tried calling her but she wouldn't answer. One male employee got so irritated with the situation and Dy's unacceptable response to the issue that he quit on the spot and walked out. Before the male employee walked out I asked if he could get my receipt from the trash can and he gave it to me. This was the only employee who was helpful in the whole situation. I requested the full name of the Manager, but the remaining employees were told by the manager to not give out her name. Dy was extremely rude and had no intention of helping resolve the situation. I left the doughnuts and coffee on the counter and walked out after 30 mins of silence from the employees. read more

Either they are out of something, a machine is broken or they ask you to hold 5 minutes at the drive through before you order. When I moved to Charleston from Connecticut/NYC 15 years ago, I was thrilled to have a really good DD for my coffee fix. Dunkin' is a religion in New England and the Dunkin' on 17 was excellent. That was then. Now we have two Dunkin's in Mt Pleasant and as others have mentioned, the service and quality is abysmal. Expect a DD to have donuts inside? Don't bet on it here. They're always out of Donuts! And when you place an order in the drive through - expect problems and a wait. (FYI - Stay away from ordering on the DD app! The app is excellent but the employees don't see the orders). The franchise owner needs to clean this mess up, or sell these locations to someone who cares. Terrible employees, old coffee and no donuts is no way to go through life son. 'Nuff said. read more

I bypassed the drive-through and came in because I wanted an assortment of donuts, and that's just not nice to do through the drive-through. I will honestly say that since moving down here, this is the best DD I've been to. I'm comparing it to the ones in West Ashley, so take that as you will. The manager was very friendly and had a good sense of humor, which you need when you're working in the service industry. Donuts were all fresh and the iced coffee was made just how I like it. I wrote yesterday abt this store to corporate...Now I have to again !! Yesterday I called, couldn't leave a message then redialed EVER TIME I HUNG UP FOR 30 MINUTES. I then left work early to GO TO THE STORE to order 2 boxes of coffee and 3 dozen doughnuts. 68.$$ worth.I asked the clerk if the phone was working and was defensive.said he was probably w/ a customer...it was 3 pm-330 when I got there 10 min. later there was 1 person there. I remember this happening last year when I needed to order for a company event SO VERY WEIRD I arrived at 7:15 as scheduled this morning for pickup..there was 2 puddles of coffee on the walkway to the counter yesterday and it was still there this morning..I asked abt it, was told there was a leak that they had. ?? I then was at the counter w/ a VERY RUDE young girl. She argued with me that it had not been paid. When I said you may need to call the man that helped yesterday, she gave me a dirty look & said"RELAX"...in a stern way !! NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL...then I went to the car w/ the doughnuts & in coming back for the coffee I passed her right outside the door, (she was taking an order to a waiting car), she then after all the rudeness...let the door drop in my face. Been going to this location for years , the last 6 months terribly bad service , poor quality and always being out of featured items is the norm . Rude staff rules the roost and doesn't care if they have your order wrong ...again Obviously whoever owns this location doesn't visit it much or he'd go ahead and sell the property and get out of the donut business and managing disgruntled employees . Driving from Charleston to Atlanta and wanted to get a coffee before I hit the road with my wife. Posted time for closing is 8pm and it is 7:40. We wait at the drive through and get no response so we pull around to the window. There is an employee standing on the sidewalk and we ask if they are open to which she responds, "we are closed so we can clean everything up." I say, "don't you close at 8?" she says, "I dont know what time we close but we had to shut down to clean." How do you not know what time you close? terrible customer service, and cleaning comes with the territory but it happens after restaurant is closed. Management I'd look into your employees shutting down at least (closed at 20 till) 20 minutes early. read more

I went to Dunkin today to get my usual small coffee and a donut. I handed the clerk at the window a one hundred dollar bill because that was all I had. She began to yell at me and told me she did not take those and that she would take care of my food today but repeated over and over that she did not take large bills. I was trying to say, "Thank you for doing that and I will make sure I come back in the next day or so as always and make it right", when she seemed to go on a tirade of anger against me. I tried to explain that I understood and she just kept yelling. This woman who looked and acted like she just crawled out from under a trailer park wheel, had tow teeth and needed a bath. The manager at this Dunkin Donuts was so rude. We ordered bagels with butter and got cream cheese. When we went in to exchange them the manager insisted that we did not order them with butter but actually cream cheese. The bagels were for my children. I think I know what my children like and don't like. He actually got loud and threatened to call 911 on us. This was over CREAM CHEESE. All I can say is that I am very disappointed. It was 7:00 AM and the parking lot was pretty empty (3 or 4 cars). No one was in line at the drive-thru, so I decided to . I ordered a coffee with extra cream only at the drive-thru. When I pulled up to the window, I found the staff laughing and goofing around (fun at work is one thing, but this was far above and beyond that). I was barely acknowledged at the window as the young lady was still goofing with her co-workers. When i got to work and tasted my coffee, I found that they had put sugar in it.....it was like drinking syrup. So, after about half of an extra large coffee, I had the throw the rest out. A mistake is one thing, but being careless because you are goofing off with your co-workers is unacceptable. It is no wonder their lot was empty if this is the customer service they have been providing lately. read more

This Dunkin Donuts location in Mt Pleasant off Coleman Blvd is MUCH better than the other across town off Highway 17. They seem to always be fully stocked with food and drinks and move people through the drive thru at a much faster pace. It's the closest Dunkin Donuts on this side of Charleston to anything we had in New England as far as speed and consistency of their products. read more

This store has gone down hill in the past year or so. The selection of donuts is very limited compared to other DD's. For some reason they just stopped carrying sugared donuts, my favorite. I asked about it and they said they don't have them any more. Staff did not know why. They removed the TV from the eating area. Used to be several groups that would come by, buy some food and coffee and chat. No more. Staff is fine, but not near as friendly or as fast as in the past. The drive thru line was about 15 cars long, the cashier inside did not know what he was doing and seemed under the influence of something. When he asked someone to get him more change , everyone just looked at him and went about their business. We had to order the same sandwich 3 times before it was right, we had 5 coffee drinks and every single one was wrong , and had to be re made. The staff were not kind and acted annoyed that they had customers. They had to ask what our order was multiple times while waiting for our items. Service is incompetent. Asked if I could get some decaf coffee (whole bean) ground for me and it was as if I was speaking a foreign language. "No, you have to do that at home" was the reply. I don't know anyone with a coffee grinder at home. Then I ordered toasted 2 bagels with the emphasis on toasted. I get home and have 2 untoasted bagels with about a teaspoon of cream cheese on each. My husband and I came here for a quick cup of coffee before we started our day. Our first hint was there were absolutely no other costumers at 10:3 on a Saturday morning. After pulling into the drive thru, the attendant asked for our order. My husband asked about a frozen drink they had on special but dismissed it when it wasn't actually a coffee drink. Instead he ordered two lattes instead. We pulled up to the window to pay, and the total was for the frozen drink we had asked about and our 2 lattes on ice. My husband said he wanted them hot and he didn't want the frozen drink at all. The attendant turned around and mumbled loud enough for us to hear, "that's not what you f***ing said". We drove off. Absolutely not. I don't care where the misunderstanding came from but you absolutely don't speak to a costumer like that. Now we know why there weren't any costumers.
