This place really needs adult supervision. The kids that are making drinks and taking orders both in drive thru and walk up window have demonstrated they are not able to organize themselves adequately for the pace of demand they have. I placed a mobile order to be picked up at 4:10 and waited an additional 20 minutes for my drinks to be ready. Once received, I noticed one of the drinks was missing the soft top, which is an additional charge. It truly is an annoyance to wait for a purchased product and have it fall short. The music in there is super loud which I'm sure interferes with their ability to effectively communicate. Even asking at the window, you have to tilt in to hear the person speaking and vice versa. Staff is always nice and polite. It can get busy so there maybe a wait time. Coffee is good and they have lots of drink options. There's no inside seating and only have 2 benches outside. I got a pure mango smoothie, but you are given the option of adding another fruit in for no extra cost but I just wanted to keep it simple! The smoothie was not that bad. Not my favorite. I hate updating a review and removing stars but it's been a while since I reviewed this place and it's gone downhill recently. My last 3 visits the wait has been atrocious. There has been no one outside taking orders, they are having cars get to the window before ordering which extends the wait and causes problems with the order as cars in the shorter line will try to cut in front of cars that have been there before them. On my most recent visit 2 cars used the other lane and cut in front of me and the car in front of me, no one outside taking orders or guiding traffic. It took over a half hour to get to the window and get my drink and that was with 6 cars in front of me. Not sure what happened but without having someone outside taking orders in advance to keep the line moving and keeping cars in order it's just kind of chaotic and one of the reasons I don't think I'll be returning to this location, 3 times in a row is enough to say something has changed for the worse. read more

I am always making a trip to Dutch Bros whenever I'm in town! I love how nice and friendly all the staff are and they seriously make some good suggestions on what drinks to get! Their prices are decent for the amount of coffee or drink you are getting. Their drinks are pretty customizable as well. The lines at dutch bros may be intimidating but it's pretty impressive how their operations go because it goes by quick! Due to COVID, it is card only and drive thru only so maybe that's why it's so long? It looks like there's a walk up window that they might open up once the pandemic is over. read more

I love coffee and I don't normally go grab coffee at these places, because I normally just brew my own at home. Once in awhile, I will want a freeze aka frappe. Sometimes you gotta buy yourself a treat, because I would be lying if I told you I grab coffee from here for a pick me. I recently tried their strongest coffee which is called the 9-1-1 and it's supposed to have 6 shots in it, I didn't feel like it was as strong as the coffee I brew at home. All the freezes/frosts I've tried was delicious. At this time, I do not have a favorite. I can't remember what each one tastes like anymore, sorry guys. My last freeze I purchased was the "Candy Cane" and since it's the season, why not. I liked it a lot and I would definitely get it again. Definitely tasted like Christmas in a cup. Lines are super long every time I have visited, but I wouldn't be intimidated because it moves quickly. Staff usually seems really nice and they all look happy to be there. I don't know if it's a rumor or not, but I did hear that they will be opening up other locations in Bakersfield, so if you live way on the other side of town like me, then you won't have to go on a fantastic voyage just to get a taste of Dutch Bros. read more

You can't beat this place. I can't wait for additional Dutch Bros to be on my side of town too. They are the Chic-Fil-A/In&Out of coffee places. You can't beat a place that has upbeat peppy workers, who are always willing to chat while you wait almost no time while they make some great drinks. It has definitely been one of my favorite go to coffee places, whenever we traveled out of town, but I would have to say I was ecstatic when I found out they were finally coming to Bako. I'd always wanted to open my own Dutch Bros, because of the great experiences I've had at many other locations, so I was still just as happy knowing a location would open here because of the great service they employ and train. Definitely worth the short drive to this location, and luckily now they don't seem to have a line wrapped around the building, I think mainly because of the great training the employees receive on top of the rhythm they are in now as well. What can I say. It's a brand new business opening here in town. If you dont expect long lines, I'm not sure what to tell you. I will say though, they make it as fast as possible, having two people taking orders. I will say the lines are shorter in the middle of the day. When we tried to go and night, the cars lined up all the way to the Dollar Tree. The people who work here are super sweet and laid back. They accidently missed me while taking orders. When they caught it, they gave my drink for free, which was very sweet of them. I have never actually been to a Dutch Bros before (missed it on my trip to Portland I guess) so I ordered the Kicker. The Kicker is coffee with Irish Creme, very tasty! Coffee was brewed well and the drink wasn't the sweetest I've had. I do plan to come back and try more off the menu. The only real downside is that I have to drive across town to do it. Oh well, more field trips for me! read more

First ever DBs location in Bakersfield and there's already 3 or 4 more locations. This is an overdue review. My first taste of DBs was in Fresno - obsessed with it for sure! So when Bakersfield planned to open one up I was so excited. This location has came a long way from opening to what it is now. Service is always great and the workers are so friendly. Some may think they're trying "too hard" but honestly if they were I appreciate it because it makes your experience there that much more pleasant. I've never had a problem with drink orders being messed up because either I'm set with their menu or I'm ordering from their secret menu (YES! They have a secret menu. YW! ). We have been here more than a dozen times and they are slow and never have any order that they do things in. I know waiting when they first open was going to happen, that is why I'm not doing a review. We have had coffees spilt on my car and wait times that are ridiculous considering there's only ten cars in drive way when we arrived. So three stars for pretty much having the greatest product on the earth here and the two missing because the lack in motivation and speediness lacks. I've been living under a rock and have never tried Dutch Bros Coffee. Yep. Never had one cup of DBC. I read many a friends excited posts across social media in anticipation of Bakersfield's first Dutch Bros Coffee. I couldn't imagine what all the hub-bub was about, especially after reviewing the menu online and not finding one drink without tons of sugar or flavoring. I'm a simple gal, with simple coffee needs. The most exciting thing about me might be the extra shots in my Americano. Other than that, I don't mess with the seasonal drinks. But on this morning as I was leaving a very early morning meeting I opted to stop by and try it out. As I approached I notice the massive line of cars and prepared route set by employees. I found my way in line about mid way down into the parking lot (about 20 cars from the front) and proceeded to wait about 15 minutes. All of the time much needed as I explored the menu and read about their secret menu items. Yes - secret menu! That's where things get interesting. from the Molten Lava Mocha, to the Bob Marley - there's a multitude of flavor varieties just waiting for your order. What struck me as especially amazing were the ultra pleasant staff. They were being trained and grouped into two's - it made me appreciate the DBC training method and how dedicated they are to making sure employees are trained correctly from the start. Kudos there! Once ordered my drink came out lickety split and I was out in a flash. I was a bit bummed that it didn't come with the whip cream and fancy look like the photo - but I blamed myself for maybe not ordering correctly. Did I like the sweet treat? Not especially. It was more like a milk shake to me. Quite the heavy dose of sugar and lactose in the morning can make for an interesting afternoon. In retrospect, I think I would've ordered the Caramelizer instead. The drink was just a bit too watered down for me, and the flavor just reminded me of a caramel latte I could get anywhere else. Sadly, from this drink alone, I don't think this place fully lived up to all the hype. However, I'm still giving 4 stars because of the overall experience I had here. Obviously, Dutch Bros is really well known, as there was a long line for the drive-thru (which is the only thing open, no indoor/outdoor dining due to covid) on a Sunday morning. The place was so organized in getting cars thru in an efficient manner. The workers were also SO nice!! They engaged in conversation and made me feel really good as a customer overall lol.
