This place has its highs and lows for sure! I actually love the French toast it's so crunchy and sweet super delicious! The southern eggs Benedict that they are known for was a huge disappointment...if it weren't for the other food and the incredible customer service I would give this place less stars. The egg yolk was over cooked while the white was undercooked (literally not an egg Benedict) and when I wanted it redone they said that's how they cook it there which i personally know is incorrect. They did let me switch out for their best burger and I was pretty satisfied. I had gone there for the Benedict but had other delicious food. Would stop by again. read more

It's hard to add something that hasn't already been said, so I'll just echo once again -- great food, great staff, great atmosphere. Get it? Maybe just one thing that hasn't been said (or maybe it has 'cause I haven't read all the reviews), but... you know how most cinnamon buns are so dripping with sugar that they're a gloppy mess and you really can't taste anything but gritty sugar? Well, the cinnamon buns at DV8 aren't -- they have just the right amount of sugar to make you happy, a generous taste of cinnamon (and that's what we're after, right?), and a texture that's just so. Not a fan. The best thing was the free slice of bread, light and moist. We arrived and most items were gone at 2:15 on a Sunday. Ugh! They have no booze here so I could not have a Mimosa but I was OK with having some good coffee... But they don't have any good coffee. It's like the coffee dispensers in the office lounge. I did not care for the apple butter it was too gooey and had a very corn syrup consistency to me instead of a blended apple butter. Others seemed to like it quite a bit so to each their own! I went to toss my apple butter bread out and I could not find the trash can so I was wandering around looking for a minute. Ugh. Maybe I'm old Fashioned. I don't want my food in paper plates. No plastic ware. When our stuff arrived the tater tots were cold. So was my southern sandwich. Gross. Ugh. I moved on to the classic cinnamon roll which was delicious. Large, fluffy versus dense inside and a cream cheese topping. Finally something to be happy about here! Yay. Chowed it down and wished I'd gone to Malones. Won't be back. Such a great place! Upon walking in, we were kindly greeted at the door and had the menu and and restaurant explained to us. As shown on the menu, they offer employment to those in substance abuse recovery who often have a tough time finding employment. Beyond the concept, the food was incredible!! We had a special pimiento cheese chicken biscuit and a bacon egg and cheese biscuit. Pimiento was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever had, and it's a lot of food. All the baked goods are made in house and all food is natural. They also had out a loaf of their made in house sourdough bread and homemade honey butter and jam. Everyone was talking about their cinnamon rolls, which are made with croissant dough in house, but we were too full! Guess we have to come back Loved the concept, loved the food, loved the service. Perfect brunch spot! My husband and I stayed over in Lex for the night and found DV8 on Yelp. We were immediately welcomed by Tiffany at the counter. She was enthusiastic about the food and menu offerings. We tried multiple things because we love food! The croissant breakfast sandwich was amazing....dripping with goodness! I had biscuits and tried various toppings. The orange marmalade was divine. Gravy was full of flavor! It wasn't until we were about to leave that I noticed the colorful RECOVERY sign on the wall, then the heart behind this restaurant became clear. LOVE IT! The location is kind of weird along with all the other businesses in the area. Just awkward to get in and out of. I love the idea that they are helping people working that would otherwise have difficulties finding employment. The food isn't anything spectacular. Good breakfast. The coffee is good. My partner and I each had sandwiches and then split a maple bacon cinnamon roll and some tater tots. Everything was absolutely delicious. Their brioche and biscuits were fresh and the chicken on our sandwiches was hot and crispy. The cinnamon roll was closer to a croissant than a traditional cinnamon roll, but we really enjoyed it. This was a wonderful surprise for us this week! We had lunch here and the burger was amazing! Cooked perfectly, topped with fresh produce, and the bun was even amazing!! It came with tots that were the perfect seasoning and crunch! The sweet tea is also very good! Then to our surprise they served sourdough bread with butter and jams to try as a sample. I had apple butter and honey butter and both tasted so good!! Did I mention the atmosphere was a chic modern and the service was so friendly and helpful!! We will definitely come back to this place!! The only thing better than their food and staff is their mission. Love, love, love this place and everything they represent.

They're breakfast has been consistently delicious! We've used their online ordering service with curbside pickup which has been a bit of a wait, even if we arrived right when our order was said to be ready. The food has been a little cold by the time we got it, but after a quick nuke in the microwave it was delicious. I loved their Breakfast Rueben and their biscuits are wonderfully flaky. The breakfast was fresh and hot when it was brought to the table. I arrived into town about 5 hours before I was able to check in at my airbnb. I sat and drank coffee for about 2 of those hours.
