We came to Dynasty BBQ to celebrate mother's day on sunday evening, where it wasn't too packed. There are multiple locations in the Bay Area but this was the first time we visited this one in Newark We ordered quite a smattering of different skewers including chicken gizzard, beef, veggies. What's nice about Dynasty is that they come pre-cooked, and effectively the grill is to keep the skewers warm. Flavor wise, the seasoning is not too salty and has great taste. Overall I would recommend this place for skewers!
This restaurant is very close to our house but its our first time trying it. The interior is very beautiful! I didn't expect it as we entered the restaurant Yoj have to order through the QR code o. Each table. There was an older couple who came before we left and try didn't like the idea of ordering throught the phone. I think that's one disadvantage of electronic ordering. J think the seniors should be considered too. The food is really good! The skewers were all tasty: beef, lamb, chicken with pineapple and chicken gizzard. I didn't like the vegetable skewer. The wrapper was like paper. The eggplant with garlic and the cucumber salad were so good! Definitely a must try! The cold noodle was delicious too! Left the restaurant so full! We will definitely be back!
We came to here to celebrate Mother's Day, and it wasn't too crowded. We ordered quite a few different skewers, including chicken gizzard, beef, lamb, and veggies. One thing I really like about this place was the seasoning was flavorful without being too salty that you could actually tasted the meats flavor. Highly recommended!
Honestly, I'm such a fan now!!! this skewer place is so good!! the flavoring is still on point and it's still fresh. You have to get the spicy noodle as well !!! service is super kind and friendly. It's super clean inside as well. We would definitely come back again.
We had been craving some bbq while in the area that wasn't the standard kbbq. Ever since we tried Chinese style bbq skewers last year, we definitely wanted to try more, Dynasty bbq came up on Yelp and seemed quite reasonable in price and serving size. When you enter and get seated, you will be prompted to go on the url code at the table to pick your items. While I understand that this is the new way for restaurants to serve guests post-covid, the vast menu items you have to scroll through makes me long for physical menus of the past - but that's just my boomer take for the day. There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus. Great food here and definitely will be back to try more of the other menu items for the full experience.
After Chef Liu closed, I had to find a new skewer spot which was a struggle to find a place of the same quality. I absolutely love Dynasty BBQ! To me, it's better quality than Ace King BBQ, but to each their own. Sometimes this location has live music, which is cool. - I've only encountered them twice in coming here. The skewers are well balanced with meat and fat. So juicy! Service is not anything to complain about, so I'm content with that. There's another location in San Mateo or Burlingame, which is just as good too!
The flavor on the skewers is perfectly fragrant and delicious. My favorite is the beef because they're so juicy! The noodles were also yummy but I would recommend ordering that first since we got a bit full from the skewers. This place is easy to order with your eyes and not with your stomach Even though you order from your phone, the staff is diligent and the ambience is calming.

First of all, this place got the ambiance down! I seriously felt like I'm in one of those old Chinese kungfu temples or something. With that said, seating is kinda limited. Place isn't huge. Food was good, food was decent. It did take forever to get our food after ordering it. I legit thought they forgot our orders. Parts of the first order came when we were getting our 2nd order of food. If food came out faster then I would give it another star
Tried this spot out with my friends. They took a while to notice us enter but let us pick any table we wanted. Ordered through a QR code online and everyone can pick what they want. They bring the sticks out already cooked. The heating tray on the table is just to keep it warm. The skewers are pretty good. Everything seems to be caked on with the same spice blend regardless of what it was. The beef, chicken pineapple, enoki mushrooms, and a choy were my favorites. Pretty good overall and easy to eat and share with friends. Main complaint is I wish the food came out hotter. All the temperatures of the skewers were about lukewarm so it did not seem super fresh and the warming platter doesn't help much since there is just a few tea candles under it.
Really solid skewer joint in central Fremont with lowkey vibes and friendly staff! It is actually renamed to Dynasty BBQ now but google maps still says Oyama. The seasoning on the A choy was really good it didn't taste watered down at all from the vegetable. It is not that spicy either it is more savory even though there are chili flakes. In order of my favs for the meats: lamb, special lamb, beef, fish tofu = beef tendon I would definitely recommend getting the lamb and beef skewers they have a nice bit of fat in them for a melt in your mouth texture. The seasoning is yummy and savory - the meat quality is quite high. Would be nice to get more spice and aromatics in the seasoning or add an option for that. The appetizers we tried (cucumber / potato) salad were good too. Nice seasoning and good textures! The staff were also super accommodating my friend has a peanut allergy and they double checked with each order to make sure the right precautions would be taken. They also let us get a separate grill pan to avoid cross contamination.
Dynasty BBQ now has a few locations in the Bay Area, and the Newark location was recently named one of the best Chinese restaurants in the country by Yelp. This was my first time trying Chinese skewers--we got 18 in total, plus their cold cucumber salad and spicy rice noodles--and each bite, infused with their signature spice mix, was bursting with flavor. The decor felt very authentic, but I couldn't help feeling the price was a bit steep for what I expected to be a more premium experience.
Dynasty BBQ is located in a small strip mall. The place used to be called Oyama BBQ. Parking seems to be OK. Not sure during peak times. Elegantly decorated with antique Chinese furniture. The chairs are not the most comfortable of chairs. I should know, growing up my parents had the same kind of furniture. Order via QR code on your table. The great thing is that they skewers can be customized to not be spicy. What's the use, you say? Well, my wife cannot eat spicy foods. So I asked that they omit it from some of the skewers. They however played it safe and did our whole order. No problem, it was still seasoned well with cumin and other spices. *Beef Skewers (4/5) - tender yet firm enough to know you were chewing beef. *Beef Tendon (4/5) - I like tendon so this was all my choice. Firm and chewy. *A-Choy (4/5) - wilted and charred slightly but still had a nice crispness. *Chicken Wings (3.5/5) - lightly seasoned bit cooked well. Support your local business.
Wasn't sure if this place was called Dynasty or Oyama because the signs and menus all have both names - the staff mentioned it was Oyama so will go with that. The skewers are fantastic here - can't go wrong with the lamb or beef ones. There will most likely be a line during dinner time so definitely come early if you don't want to wait too long. read more
Amazing chinese skewer place! We ordered two rounds of food, which actually ended up being a little too much so had almost a full meal togo after. My personal top three choices as a pescetarian were enoki mushroom, a-choy, and squid. My bf's personal top three choices as a person without any dietary restrictions were enoki mushroom, a-choy, and lamb. Also the wrapping the skewers in buns were a great addition to give some diversity to the food as well. read more
Very inviting. Place is very well decorated and there was live person playing the gu zheng. It was pleasant listening to the music. You order the skewers via QR code on the table and they bring the food out to your table fairly quickly. It was pretty tasty. However, some of the people in my party complained about food being spicy. We had lamb, beef, chicken heart, chicken gizzard, squid, tendon, pork belly, chicken and pineapple skewers. The cold cucumber salad was delicious. The cold app player with think slices beef came with a separate dipping sauce. That sauce was so good!!!! We also orders a round of the garlic scallop with vermicelli noodles. It was good but the scallops was dinky. Definitely will come back. read more

The atmosphere is warm and authentic with beautiful traditional décor. The skewers are amazing--lamb is tender and juicy, seasoned perfectly without being too salty or too spicy. Lots of variety from meat to vegetables and seafood, all delicious. Service is friendly and attentive, and the food comes out quickly. A great spot for anyone who loves BBQ skewers--highly recommended! read more
We really enjoyed the skewers here! The atmosphere was also really great, we loved how the restaurant was decorated in a traditionally Chinese way. The service was also really fast, I liked how you were able to order on a QR code on your phone and the food came out fairly quickly. The little skewer warmer on each table was also a really nice touch, it made the presentation really aesthetic and helped keep all of the skewers warm! We ordered beef, lamb, taiwan sausage, and corn skewers. My favorite was the lamb! The lamb & cumin combo is just so delicious. It had a smokey flavor and was cooked perfectly. The portions were also really large, I thought they would be tiny like other skewer places but they were huge! We were full and had so many leftovers to bring home. The only thing I didn't like about Oyama BBQ was the seating. The table we were sat at was essentially blocked off by the table next to us, meaning if we wanted to exit or if the server wanted to pass us our food the table next to us was in the way. It felt awkward having to ask them to stand up or scoot over so we could leave. I also felt like the table next to us didn't really appreciate the servers reaching over them every time they dropped food off to our table. read more

I have to complain about the beginning of the dinner. The few skewers we received were cold. And it should've been reheated up so we weren't eating cold skewers. That didn't taste good. (Only minus 1 star) The service other than the beginning food issue was attentive. The servers come out with the skewers and stated what they were. The server printed an English copy because I didn't know Chinese of the they mark up when we received the order. They also lit our candle back up. We ordered more than 15 skewers that I don't remember which ones we ordered as the satay flavors were similar. The textures were different. We used our phones to scan the QR code for the menu. We ordered skewers and tried tripe, heart, and such. It was really good.By the end of the night, we had a lot of fresh hot skewers because there were more customers ordering. Out of the ordinary, we also ordered quail and eggplant with garlic. Fun to eat. read more

Glad I found this delicious Asian skewer spot! We ordered 18 items between 2 people and were full. My favorites were the scallop vermicelli, chicken gristlet and chicken skin. Skip the pork skin because the texture was more rubbery than crispy. The original beef & pork skewers were also good and came in a set of 2! Can't go wrong with the chives to add some vegetables in the mix. Ambience was great and the decor made the experience more enjoyable. You order through a QR code, which sends your order to the register. The staff would then have to send your order to the kitchen. The service can be a bit slow depending on when the staff sees your order and sends it to the kitchen. I like the idea that you can add on orders as you go though. They also have a variety of Asian drinks and some desserts that I'm excited to try next time. Will definitely be back soon! read more

Best chinese skewer spot I've tried in Norcal thus far. The seasoning on each item was ON POINT and tasted more complex than just cumin. Would HIGHLY recommend: - Beef - Mantou - Quail Egg - Garlic Eggplant Would likely recommend: - Garlic Scallops (this was a bit drier compared to other places and the vermicelli got stuck on the shell, but still good. Would NOT recommend: - Pork Belly - Cheese Corn (see the attached picture... It was really WEIRD that they put sprinkles and raisins on top... also, there were any mayo, so it tasted a bit dry) Service was alright, they did enough, but nothing special. The restaurant itself was really pretty and gave off old traditional chinese vibes. read more

I literally dream about these skewers. I came here for the first time for a birthday celebration. I ordered some lamb, beef, sausage, and bread skewers. The meat was ridiculously tender, juicy and flavorful. I loved the feeling of biting it off of the skewer! I loved the attention to detail with the traditional alcohol jar and cups. The service was also impeccable - everybody here is so kind and are dedicated to ensuring you have a good time. They were super accommodating to our requests for reorganizing some tables since we had a large group. Also, we were able to get a birthday package (you need to go on your birthday, verified via ID) which was filled with thoughtful goodies. Overall, you can really tell how much attention to detail the owners and staff have put into this restaurant. I can't wait to come back! read more

Oyama BBQ takes over the old OK Noodle space in Newark. When did OK Noodle close? That was my question when I heard about Oyama BBQ. I decided to try it out. The place is usually open for dinner, but on weekends, they are open during lunch. I managed to get a table. The wait staff, which spoke Mandarin, were friendly and helpful as I scanned a QR code at the table for the menu. Their specialty are skewers, so I ordered a bunch. While waiting, I took in the interior which was renovated and redone. The skewers came out one type at a time. The seasoning was flavorful. The meats were lean and good quality. I will definitely need a return trip to sample more of their menu. read more

Everything was yummy and flavorful! We ordered from a QR code and it came out pretty fast after ordering. We ordered Beef Skewers, Lamb Skewers, Chicken Wings, Chicken Gizzard, Chives, and Spicy Rice Noodles. The meat comes off the skewer easily. ( I wished there was more in it) Lots of seating and waiters were attentive. They had someone play on the Chinese harp LIVE!!!! read more
Really cool skewer BBQ place! We went here for dinner. This place even has a live Gu Zheng music performance, which is quite a surprise. The skewers are quite tasty and reasonably priced. I ventured and tried the pork foot bbq for the first time. It's tasty and chewy. I liked how they marinated the meat very much. We came around 6 pm on a Friday night, and didn't have to wait long. But there are a lot more people waiting in line around 7 pm when we left. Come a bit early to avoid the long wait. read more
So good! Tried this place out for the first time and the food definitely lived up to how good it looked! I know they are known for their skewers but I definitely enjoyed the stand alone dishes much more. The skewers were placed on a bed heated by three candles but honestly that didn't do much of anything to maintain the heat. The spicy rice noodles were SO good and the enoki mushroom dish was full of flavor and worth getting as well. I also tried the cold cucumber dish and beef with sauce; cucumbers were delicious but the beef was alright. Good service, moderately priced, and excellent ambiance! Will return! read more

We ordered several beef skewers, chicken with pineapple, and tendon skewers. The beef was our favorite! It wasn't dry at all. There was a good amount of flavor. The chicken was also very good but less flavorful. The tendon was very chewy not my most favorite. We also ordered the cold noodles. The noodles were super yummy! It soaked all the flavor in from the soup. The service was average and the ambiance was very friendly. A good place for family and friends. read more

10/10 recommend this place! So happy that we finally tried this place. Some of my favorites - stinky tofu (It is very stinky! Could be a good or bad thing depending on if you like stinky tofu), chicken feet, and lamb skewers. Yellow croaker is probably my least favorite. Not crunchy enough and a little bit fishy taste, but overall pretty good skewers with reasonable prices. The cold noodles go well with the strong flavors of the skewers. read more
My friend found this place that opened recently near my house. The interior was so cute and felt cozy. The only hard part was that the staff only knew how to speak Mandarin, but the ordering system is online so it wasn't too bad! We tried all the meat skewers, potato sticks, and buns! They also have noodle dishes. There's a good amount of selection for food and drinks! I thought the spices were yummy for the skewers! A great late night eats hole in the wall! The inside decor takes you to a different world and is so cute for pictures! My eyes were definitely hungrier than my stomach and I ended up ordering most of the meat skewers. My favorite ones were probably the pineapple chicken, the beef, and the tendon. The service was super quick and helpful with questions about ordering. The spicy noodle soup was way too hot for my mom and I but if you like spicy give it a try! read more

This place is so good. The food is amazing, with a lot of selection and featuring authentic flavors. The food comes out quickly, and they keep it on a heated stand to keep your skewers warm. The ambiance of the restaurant is also great, I've been here twice and one of the times there was a live 古筝 (guzheng) show for background music. The servers are attentive and willingly answer questions. Even when the wait is long, they offer tanghulu to those waiting for a seat. Definitely come here for great flavors and ambiance! read more

First visit... Overall experience is perfect! Foods were excellent, they did whatever to fulfill your requirements. Very tasty indeed! Service was great, I had a good conversation with one of the waitresses, she has long blonde hair, very polite and very thoughtful to customers' needs. Environment is very cute, gives you a vibe that you really are in a traditional Chinese restaurant in America, from decor to music to the food stove, etc... Even I am not living nearby, I will definitely come eat again. Oh, compare to other BBQ stick restaurants, prices here are decent. read more

Oh-YUM-a! Great spot for skewer and spicy food lovers (that's me!). Do come here with friends so you can order a variety of skewers and dishes - went ham with a couple buddies and ordered 6 types of meat skewers, 5 vegetable skewers, and 1 noodle dish. All in, the total came to ~$40 per person, which is not bad considering the amount and quality of food we ordered (we were stuffed btw!). Highlights were the Chicken Wing, Eggplant (super garlicky - do not let the sauce go to waste!), and Buns (crispy with a light sweetness). The Gizzards were a bit underwhelming but not bad. Also, the Spicy Rice Noodles were a nice carb-y accompaniment to share and could be a standalone entree if you're craving spicy noodles. Oy-Imma need one of these in Oakland / Berkeley!! read more
