Pizza with No Name (peppers on half)

I've been coming to E9 for years, and it continues to be one of my favorite spots. The food is consistently excellent, the beer is always top-notch, and the staff are some of the friendliest and most welcoming people around. No matter how busy it gets, the service never feels rushed and you can tell they truly care about the experience they're creating. They also have great merch and events, which just adds to the charm and sense of community they've built. Every visit feels reliable in the best way, you know you're going to get great quality, great vibes, and a place you actually want to come back to again and again. I truly can't recommend E9 enough!

I gotta bump up my rating for E9. It's become my most favorite brewery in Tacoma. I always love coming here and though I try to be fair and rotate and support all of the independently owned craft breweries in town I am always and consistently drawn to come back to E9. Their beers are just so, so good and so different compared to when I first had them when I moved here. So if I break out of the rotation it's almost always to come here. My latest beers here was the Choco Bliss which is a Imperial Stout loaded up with chocolate flavor. It's barrel aged and a real boozy one. This was one I haven't had previously so it was a real treat to get one of those! Another really good beer that I haven't had before until my last visit was the Brown's Point CDA which is a dark ale. This had nice bitter and malty flavors to it. You can also get some fantastic pizzas here and we have gotten many over the course of our visits here. Our last item we had to eat here wasn't a pizza but a stuffed Hungarian pepper with rice. It's considered an appetizer but for us...at least for the current situation it was like having a light lunch. The food here is great and even if you don't want a beer then definitely try out their pizzas!

Been here twice. Will 100% be back time and time again. Parking is so so, street parking on neighboring blocks. Indoor and covered outdoor seating. The pizza is absolutely reason enough to come here. Even if you aren't a beer drinker (me), the food and atmosphere are top notch! The husband says the beer selection is also good. So there ya go! Everyone we have encountered working at the counter has been so lovely! Friendly and knowledgeable and welcoming. One lady had the coolest earrings! A must go if you haven't tried and a must go if you have friends or family visiting!

What a great brewery. Great food, great service and great drinks. This is a rare brewery that can offer food, drinks and allow dogs which I really appreciated. Their beer selection is both expensive and high quality. And their food is well above average. The pizza was amazing, but the broccolini appetizer was even better. The only weird thing is that you have to get a table before ordering food, but since it was just me and my dog I couldn't easily 'reserve' a table without leaving it to order the food - especially on a crowded Saturday night. It's too bad they don't offer a QR code option to order, but overall this didn't impact my great experience here.

My husband. And probably an IPA. And wtvr the Special pizza was that day.

Advice : Don't bring a date. Bring someone you KNOW you love. Like your dog! Or your sibling or parent or cousin. Just one! Have a nice meal and a couple of drinks together. Yes even the dog. The folks who work here make it feel like coming home. It's our Happy Place. It can be yours, too.

i live walking distance from this restaurant and i was curious to see what it was about, The food was sooo delicious we for "The radiator" pizza and i was blown away by the flavor!!! truly a unique taste. The man who serviced us was so helpful when it came to explaining the brews and types of ciders they had and let us taste a sample of their cider i ended up getting a glass and loved it !! The place itself is relaxed and a place for an intimate quick dinner or a night with friends. We sat outside and even tho it was rainy and chilly we sat next to a heater and couldn't even tell!! Will definitely be back!

My wife and I have eaten here on multiple occasions and it has become our favorite restaurant and bar in Tacoma. The staff is attentive and friendly I've never had to ask for a refill and they always check to see if we are enjoying our food. The E9 beers are ice cold and delicious! The menu is unique and all the dishes we've tried have been spot on. The interior decor is cool and very chill we love sitting in the bar to eat. I 100% recommend this place for a nice evening out with friends or family.

Margarita pizza...very tasty (but a bit greasy for a margarita).
    Cory W.

Greeted with a very warm welcome. I ordered the Margarita Pizza and the Fuzzy Claus beer. Both were excellent choices! Seating is varied. You can sit inside the bar room or out in the brewing area. This place is dog friendly as there were a couple well behaved dogs that customers brought in. I'd recommend this place! Only about a 10 min walk from the Hilton Garden Inn.

    Brussels Sprouts Salad

We just met friends here and had a wonderful time! The food & drinks were great and all of the friendly doggies were just amazing. We shared a pickle plate, Brussels sprouts, a Spicy Calabrian and a Radiator. The pickly things were juicy, fresh and had lots of interesting flavor. The carrot hummus was a little bit lost among all of the juicy tang but the bite I found with a corner of the fluffy bread was delicious. The Brussels sprouts salad weighed about 5 pounds and was a savory pile of tiny sprouts fired in the pizza oven, piled on creamy burrata and topped with oodles of sweet hot chilies. The Radiator was my favorite of the two pizzas we tried. You just don't see 'roni cups often around here and paired perfectly with the toothsome, perfectly charred crust and the hot honey drizzle. The Spicy Calabrian was a close second though with creamy ricotta and spicy Italian sausage. The cider on tap was a highly unique and delicious peach hot honey that went superbly with the pizzas. If you like beer, dogs, pizza and nice people, stop on by.

Went here with friends who live in Tacoma. Loved it so much we brought more friends when we were driving through. This visit we got the truffle hustle which was tasty with big pieces of mushroom and a good truffle taste. We also got the radiator pizza and the honey was a perfect balance of sweetness to the flavorful pepperoni. They always have a good selection of beers and offered us tasters.

Each slice had this much pepperoni!
    Katie N.

Cute place I liked that you are able to get half pours of their beer. I had one of their ipas that was good. Extensive pizza menu as well. Pizza was legit covered in pepperoni. It was a little greasy.

Perfect beer on a perfect day.
    Andrew C.

Always a good time here. Great wood fired pizza on the patio and a great selection of drafts and bottles in the tap house. From saisons, to ipas. You can find some very interesting beers here. One of my top 3 breweries in Tacoma!

    Chillin' in the outdoor seating.

Great food and beer! Friendly and welcoming staff. The outdoor seating is perfect for bringing your dog. Will visit again!

Particularly, our most recent visit was this week and we had 2 servers. One, named Kassidy, took our order and then did not check in with us during our entire meal. This is our second time with this server. The second server, name unknown, dropped off food and the check and just walked away without a word. There was no interaction, no check in to ask us if our food was ok, no check in for additional drink orders. We had to flag down the waitress to order another drink after she had checked in with other customers. Again, pizza and salad was great, but some improvement on the service is needed.

Not a huge fan of the ambience in Bar Rosa, plywood floors and very dark. We were sat in a booth, and it was as the sun was setting. The windows are all illuminated and beyond filthy (inside) - it was hard not to notice with the windows open and leaning towards our table. I also was the unfortunate one to have the sun straight and my face for about half of our dinner. Service was hit or mess. We waited a long time with no check in for more cocktails. The cocktail choices are great, however, they were out of a particular cocktail my friend wanted to order. We started with the meatballs, not good. The sauce however was phenomenal! Meatballs were just very dense and dry. The appetizer came out not even 5 minutes after our order was put in, so they were lukewarm at best. When we ordered our pizza, they were out of the homemade sausage, this was Saturday night at 6pm???, so we ordered the foraged pizza as is. The pizza was delicious. My friends ordered the Marguerita - crust was a bit over done. Food was good- $30 a pizza good, not in my opinion. Hi, generally do not leave negative reviews- I look for the silver lining at majority of restaurants I visit- but this was a tough one for me. Again- maybe an off night.
