This is the go to brewery to go for "experimental" beers - I especially loved the wild bing cherry and O'Leary's milk stout. My husband loves their IPAs too! Delicious pizza, cute puppers, good seating, cool ambiance. Was a little disappointed there weren't more sours on tap this past visit. But that's ok, pizza was delish (spicy Calabrian) and the fruity sour was VERY sour. Will be back! read more

Was disappointed to walk into E9 today only to see a very packed patio with tables close together and even four people standing and drinking brews right next to a table that had another party. We ended up walking out because it didn't feel safe, even with the outdoor setting. read more

Great pizza and beer if you don't mind waiting for a very long time. I've been here for an hour and a half waiting for a take out order. The website doesn't work for online orders and if you call in, they'll direct you to the online ordering. There's also no place to sit while drinking the beer I got while waiting. I want to like this place but the service is pretty bad, and this isn't the first time it's been this way. Update: Pizza is cold. No apologies from the staff. I won't be back read more

It was 'aight. My beer was warm. Guess they'd only been open a few hours. Nice to have another place walking distance. I'll try it again. Probably closer to a 3.5. Also, no dogs on the patio and don't try and get pizza to bring home because "it's not meant to be eaten that way" and they don't have boxes. I think they serve the most authentic wood fried thin crust pizza in Tacoma. We came here for the beer but fell in love with the pizza, needless to say the beer was amazing as well, sours made once a year, IPA that have the best hops - I would say this place is an easy 5/5. Great new brewery with a lot more space then it looks like from the outside. Most of the tables are large 6 to 8 people tables which is good for socializing with friend or others. Outdoor seating area is huge. The brewery is in the back which you can see from the seating area which is really cool. The beer is great and they have some snack food for purchase which is nice for a brewery setting. Will definitely frequent E9, great new spot in Tacoma. Cheers! read more

Finally stopped in to try this place. It's spacious and has lots of places to sit inside and outside, I like how they separated the spaces with a wall of glass so you can still see the barrels but not be in the colder area. The guy pouring was knowledgeable and patient with me as I'm not much of a IPA drinker and all their beers on tap were on the hoppy side. He suggested a nice crisp kölsch beer that I enjoyed very much. Later on they had a stout and that was just delicious (can't remember the name). We weren't hungry but I did nite their food menu is limited, things like cheese, meats and crackers are available but I think they will soon have wood fired pizzas. read more

After exploring almost all of the Tacoma breweries, I can officially say E9 is my favorite! One of the only breweries with outdoor seating, which is a huge plus during the summer, but their indoor seating options are super cool too and you can always find a spot. Most importantly, they have the best beers, and the wood fire pizza is DELICIOUS! read more

2 stars because the beer is decent. When I walked up to the bar, the blonde girl at the bar said, "What's up?" But it sounded more like, "What do you want?" She poured me a sip of an IPA that was all foam, to the top of the taster glass. I didn't like it and asked to taste the coffee porter, and she just poured me a pint because her friends showed up and she was clearly done with me. Could be a really cool spot, but the brewery clearly doesn't care about customer service in the least. read more

Amazing brews, tasty wood-fired pies and excellent customer service. Such a great spot and way to spend a few hours hanging out...you can even bring your pups with you. Another thing to mention about the beer selection - nice variety, BUT I was so excited to see some farmhouse style ales on the menu. These were a hit for me for sure!! read more

Great service, cool environment, and some dang good pizza and beer. The pepperoni pizza with lavender oil is just spectacular. My only complaint is that they didn't offer enough variety on the beer menu. I'm not a big hops fan and also didn't want something quite as dark as a porter but there seemed to be nothing like an nut brown ale in between. But that's a minor complaint. We had a great time here. Was kind of bummed to be booted out once the clock struck 10 PM on a Saturday. Didn't want the night to end! read more

Came in here after a bad experience down the street at another brewery. The bartender was full of information and super kind. He helped us pick out some brews, and they were fantastic. E9 has great vibe to the place, and I can't say enough about the service. I had a sandwich there called the Enzo and it was the perfect pairing with my IPA. Well in my mind everything pairs with an IPA. Good job on the outdoor area, can't wait for the BBQ and Pizzas. read more

This is one of my favorite breweries in Tacoma. The highlights are: (1) dog friendly; (2) delicious pizza; (3) great beer. Every time I come their pizza always impresses - which is a real challenge to find in Tacoma because the pizza scene here, well...sucks. But this is a great place. I have brought a number of friends from out of town to come enjoy and most of the time they always take a pack of beer home with them! read more

Was okay, nothing different or special. Food was so so, beer selection was decent. I know it's a brewery but it's super annoying to know what you want to order and there a group of people in front of you sampling every damn beer they have. Figure out a system for this please. We almost left due to waiting seriously 20 minutes to order food and drinks. read more

The beer was pretty darn good and the atmosphere and service were good enough for what is. My main issue/complaint is with the charcuterie menu. First and foremost no prices(?). I've been to more than a few higher end places without the whopping bill i ended with after wild boar salami, pepper jelly, fig spread, cheese, and small baguette. I cannot say i didn't enjoy it, but damn, way too expensive for a brew house in Tacoma. Ask first and buyer beware. read more

Just left without pizza that took over an hour (according to their reciept) going to eat somewhere else. Had already paid tab with 25% tip, will not make that mistake again. They obviously forgot or lost the order, but he stood his ground and said I ordered at 6:27. Multiple people who ordered after me had gotten theirs. Fantastic pizza. We got the radiator and the morty's truffle hustle. Excellent crust, high quality ingredients, and flavors that perfectly walk the line between overpowering and too subtle.
