Plenty of free parking and outdoor seating in courtyard to eat. We tried their $12.95 Combo Special (any Burger or Chicken sandwich, waffle fries, and a drink!). The girl taking our order was patient with all of my husband's questions and our order came out fast and nice and hot. My husband ordered the Creamy Garlic Fried Chicken Sandwich, he said it was crispy yet tender chicken breast on a soft Potato Roll. He enjoyed it! I had the Reuben Not on Rye sandwich. Served on a Po Boy Roll which was a little too hard for my liking, but the Pastrami was plentiful and had very little fat. EARL Kapolei is between Old Navy and the food court, next to Aunty's Hotpot House. Ordering from the tablets was easy, but confusing in a way. We thought we ordered Pastrami sandwiches, but ended up with "single" burgers with Pastrami in it - along with pickles, lettuce, onion, tomato, and cheese. The bread was a bit mushy for me, but that's ok... we enjoyed our short break from our families and appreciated the clean, bright environment! Note: Noreen had ordered a complete meal that included chips (she had to go back to the counter to get a bag), a drink (self-service), and a side of waffle fries. My bestie and I saw a uber eats deal on their sandwiches and decided to do a pickup order. We ordered two Creamy Garlic chicken sandwiches and a Mango gelati to share. The chicken was very crisp and was not dry at all. The sauce was good but as a hardcore garlic lover I could have handled more! The bun was nice and soft making this a delightful and not overly filling sandwich. The gelato was not too sweet and the custard is soooo ono, I mean I still think about it everyday. Called in to order the French dip special, the sandwich was great I enjoyed it. However the service was lacking for 2 reasons. They placed the onion soup in the bag sideways for some reason and because they stapled the bag shut id have to rip it open to check which why would I do before I got home, so it began to leak on the way home staining my pants. Additionally, they did not inform me they weren't taking cash like they normally do so when I go to pay you have to pay the service fee if you want to get food there which they should inform people when they call to order. read more

The Earl is in Kapolei... Congrats on your third location in Ka Makana Ali'i located with majority of the restaurant right in front between Koa Pancake House and Scratch Kapolei. This location is croooowded today and there's zero air conditioning so I'm sweating as I'm waiting for my order. The music that seems to have speakers in the kitchen area is quite loud so as I'm placing my order the staff had a hard time hearing me let alone couldn't remember what I ordered. I got the Caprese Veggie...(taken info from menu) includes tomato, pesto, fresh mozzarella, balsamic, herb mayo, lettuce, sweet peppers, oil and vinegar, & parm blend. All was nice and fresh definitely different but in a good way that they put a slight twist on the classic and into a handheld sandwich. There a bout five tables inside and outside as well all which are taken of course which is no problem as the food court is just steps away and is much cooler being in an open air area. Great to see that they're doing well in Kapolei but it's too hot and crowded and waiting for my sandwich felt like forever (but it was fast) since they call you by your name I had to stay inside so I don't miss it. I was so excited for the opening of EARL Kapolei, yet I have now dined twice and neither time has been on par with the original (now closed) EARL in Kaimuki. I know prices have gone up everywhere, but does that have to mean quality goes down? First visit was pretty tasty. Not up to the level I have come to expect from EARL, but decent. This last visit was sheer disappointment. From getting one sandwich order completely wrong, to an over cooked burger on a soggy bun. Sorry, EARL. With all of the choices we have to dine at, I don't image we will be back. RIP read more

Aside from that, however, I was the only person who enjoyed their lunch... and that's because I got a burger. Son and wife confidently agreed the chicken sandwich wasn't too great. The $7.50 EARL fries was also underwhelming! I thought the flavor was okay, especially if you like cheese whiz and ranch. The menu states they use cherry peppers, which we were curious to try, but what we got was banana peppers...? $7.50 for a small order of fries is a bit steep, but it sounded good, so my wife gave it a try. My Mushroom Single had good flavor and ordering the bun grilled makes all the difference! I didn't like them serving bruised and old looking lettuce on this $12.50 sandwich tho!!! If I'm ordering a "gourmet" burger, I surely want ALL my lettuce to be fresh... today, it was not. Give them a try at least once tho! Earl Kapolei is located in Ka Makana Ali'i Shopping Center next to Aunty's Hotpot, by the Old Navy parking lot side. Me and my boyfriend tried the creamy garlic chicken sandwich from a friend a couple days ago so we wanted to try it out ourselves so we came today. Upon entering, it looks big because the tables (six) are spaced out, but it gets really crowded and it feels hectic waiting inside for your food because there's the line of customers nearly waiting out the door and everyone else waiting for their order too. They take your order relatively quick but waiting for them to make it is another thing completely. We ordered the creamy garlic chicken sandwich, hot honey chicken sandwich, Earl fries and bacon fries. Ka Makana recently renovated their food court seating area so we were able to find a table nearby and wait for our food. We waited a little over twenty minutes and for our order we paid about $40. We really like the chicken sandwiches because there's so much flavor and it's crispy and juicy but it's just so overpriced for what you get. The creamy garlic sauce is so good and has some sesame seeds in it, it almost reminds me of a garlicky "everything bagel" seasoning. The hot honey chicken is more sweet than it is spicy, I was expecting more of a kick and it was really messy. I kind of wish they added some lettuce or tomato because I feel like it's just bread, chicken, pickle and some kind of variation of a sauce. The fries were thick and fresh but again, way overpriced for what you get. Almost $8 for bacon fries, and we got four little cuts from a single slice of bacon? They're a little bit stingy with the toppings/sauce on the fries in general. But because they're cut so thick, you get full quickly. Overall, maybe we would come back again? We stopped by today (7/6/24) for lunch, as soon as we walked in we were greeted by the cheerful employee working the register. The color of the interior reminds me of Jamba Juice - bright, colorful, happy. What we ordered: I ordered the FIREBIRD - fried chicken sandwich with Nashville style hot sauce, pimento cheese, chipotle sauce & pickle. I give this one a 12/10: had the right amount of heat without sacrificing flavor. Hubby ordered PASTRAMI SINGLE - burger with pastrami, Swiss, American, mayo, ketchup, lettuce tomato etc. it was good but it was better when we ate it with ranch to cut the saltiness of the pastrami. Wanted to try this place for lunch and we did take out. Got us the Italian ice with vanilla yogurt it was pretty good and refreshing for a hot day. For Sandwich I got the Turkey Club. It caught me off guard on the size which was smaller than I thought it would be from the photos on yelp, but they filled that Sandwich up and the pesto was very delicious. My husband got this crispy sweet chicken sandwich and it was very flavorful. Overall we were pretty satisfied with our picks and would order the same thing again. If you can snag a parking in the front during lunch rush hour then your lucky like us it can get crowded to find parking. But I'm glad they're located in the front of the nearest parking lot. Earl is one of our favorite spots on the island, we've probably tried every sandwich on the menu. Today we got the french dip 4.0 and it was the best french dip we've ever had and probably one of the best sandwiches at earl that we've tried. Every sandwich we've tried here is great and always has very high quality ingredients and is always super stuffed. I ordered the Firebird and Bacon Fries. The Firebird had great flavor. The chicken was tender and moist and it wasn't over fried like Jack in the Box. But I wish it was spicier. The piece of chicken was also on the small side. I had a few bites where I was just eating the bun, even though I centered it on the bun. The bacon fries could have used more cheese. The bottom fries were plain as the cheese and ranch did not penetrate the top layer of waffle fries. The meal was filling nonetheless. Next time, I will try the subs. read more

So, I ordered the Firebird Chicken Sandwich, Earl Fries, and Chipotle Chicken Cheesesteak to try out. In total, it came out to about $45. Firebird Chicken Sandwich was the best of the three followed by the fries. It was probably the best chicken sandwich I had. It was sweet but also spicy, and it didn't feel oily. Service was great. My Wife and I have been enjoying EARL since 2014 back in Kaimuki. Ironically we moved to Kapolei in 2014 but still made the trek out to Kaimuki to enjoy their food. What drew my Wife and I back then was their creative yet comfort food menu and just their overall passion for really great tasting sandwiches. You can tell when an establishment really cares and enjoys what they do and EARL embodies that. Fast forward to 2024 and they've now added their 3rd location which comes to no surprise to us. Consistent quality and excellent customer service has brought them this far and in our neck of the woods! 10 years later they haven't skipped a beat. Food still has a level of consistency and quality that is unmatched. You definitely will NOT get this quality at a chain restaurant. Sure it you'll save a buck or two but you'll miss the quality by a mile. This location I noticed has burgers, chicken sandwiches and fried chicken as well. Something we're excited to try next time. We ordered the EARL's Cheesesteak and they knocked it out of the park. Bread was crunchy and soft, it did not get soggy from the juices of the tender meat. The flavor of the meat was on point, it was not oily either. Don't let the size of it fool you either, I have a hefty appetite but even sharing the sandwich with my Wife, I was left full. The restaurant itself was bright, organized and laid out great. The customer service was great too. You're immediately greeted when you come in and thanked when you're given your food. They checked my order before paying and double-checked when I picked up the food. Earls cheesesteak was very tasty, I got the Chipotle mayo on the side. Huge fan of the old EARL menu (bring back the turkey jam sam!) but the new East coast sub menu doesn't really interest me. However, some of the weekly specials are definitely do not miss. The crab cake sliders were perfection. I'll always stay on their mailing lists to know about the specials, and in hopes that one day my beloved TJS will come back. I miss the original Kaimuki location and ambiance (not to mention the prices!) but I'm thrilled there's a west side location now.
