Tried this business out because it was spoken highly of on TikTok!! It's a nice petite coffee shop on wheels and definitely had a good size line going in the morning time! I went for the specials which was a s'mores latte and my bf got the Vietnamese coffee -- we also managed to snag the last order of croissant waffle which we topped with buttercream icing and fruity pebbles -- I will say the waffle sticks weren't as good as I expected them to be since they were so popular but I think if I had them more fresh they would be better. Coffee was definitely on the sweeter/dessert side, there's only one table outside for seating but we enjoyed our treats in the car :)
I stopped by here earlier today for my morning coffee. Whenever I go on vacation I try to hit up a new coffee shop every morning and on this morning I ended up heading over to Early Bird Coffee. This location is a stand in a parking lot right off of South Kihei Road and I had driven by it a couple of times earlier in the trip. True to its name, it is open at 6 AM and when I arrived shortly after opening, I was the only person there. There were two employees working and I ended up ordering a 12 oz ube and coconut latte. My coffee here ended up being pretty good. I got the earthiness from the ube along with some sweetness from the coconut. The creaminess also seemed to come from the coconut. The coffee itself was present as well and had a strong, rich flavor. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I like that Early Bird is open at 6 AM and the coffee I had here was good as well.
LOVED this place! Really cute coffee truck in Kīhei with wonderful Vietnamese coffee and matcha option. So good we had to come back twice. Recommend getting the coconut coffee (the coconut flavor is in the cream on top) and the matcha chai (surprisingly good combo, especially if you like chai). They hand whisk their matcha!
I stopped by Early Bird Coffee and loved how many unique coffee options they had. There were so many I wanted to try, but I ended up ordering the pandan coffee and the black sesame white mocha. Both were really good, but if I had to pick a favorite, the pandan coffee definitely stood out to me. I came around 10:00 AM and there were about three people ahead of me. The wait was a little long -- roughly 15-20 minutes before I was able to order and get my drink. It's conveniently located, but it was starting to get pretty hot since there aren't many shaded spots to stand while waiting. I did like the little decor and the mirror where you can take a quick selfie. Other than the wait, I don't really have anything negative to say. I'd definitely come back and try more drinks next time.

Early bird coffee is so delicious. I got the americano with coconut foam and my friend got americano with pan-dan foam. Both were so delicious. Bitter at first but flavors blend nicely the more you drink. (I got it two days during my stay because so good.) also tried the Italian panini it was on good sourdough bread and just MWAH. Friendly service and answered questions well. There was a line both times I went because it is so good the people must go
Very good, extremely strong lattes. I had the iced coconut and ube latte. It was delicious. Smooth, strong flavors. The guy warned me it's 4 shots in a 16oz cup. I'd get two shots next time. The 4 shots gave me a wicked headache. My wife got the Saigon and the black sesame (and wanted to try both) and they were both solid. I think I liked the Saigon the most. Service is island paced. The line was pretty long and we waited about 20 minutes. No biggie if you're not in a rush.

Early Bird Coffee is a fresh face in Kihei's food trailer scene, and it's already making waves--with good reason. This charming little trailer is quickly building a loyal following thanks to its fun, aesthetic drinks. On my first visit, I had a bit of decision fatigue (everything sounded too good) and ended up ordering the Black Sesame White Chocolate Mocha, one of their signature drinks. While it was good and well-balanced with that nutty sesame, I had immediate drink envy after tasting my other half's Ube Vietnamese Coffee. It stole my heart--thicker and slightly sweet with a deeper, tastier flavor profile that really hits the spot. So, I got that on my following visits and it hasn't disappointed! They also offer a small selection of food, like croffles on a stick (yes, that's a croissant-waffle hybrid, and yes, it's as fun as it sounds) and sourdough paninis that are perfect for a light bite. I'll have to try these in the future! A fair warning though: word is clearly out. The lines can get very long. On one visit, we ended up waiting over 30 minutes. While that might test your patience pre-caffeine, I was honestly happy to see a small business thriving on our island. Hopefully as they grow, they'll find a rhythm that keeps the line moving without losing their charm. Just bring a little patience! All in all, Early Bird Coffee is absolutely worth a visit--whether you're a local or just cruising through Kihei. I just wish they were a bit closer to me, haha.
3 WORDS: MUST GO HERE! :) We recently visited Maui for 4 days and visited 3 out of the 4 days (it would've been 4/4 days but they were closed on our last day hehe). Our first experience was so great that all we could talk about was how we're going back again the next day. A little cart off of Kīhei Rd, they made the area welcoming and inviting with a few benches/tables and a little covering. The staff were super friendly and answered all of our questions. They serve coffee, teas, and specialty vietnamese coffee. Their flavor pairings peaked our interest, we've never seen a place with Pandan or Chai Matcha. They were so intriguing it could be either a miss or a hit. We wanted to try them all. They also serve food but we didn't get any. The croffles I saw on Yelp looked amazing but unfortunately they were sold out when we were there. We tried the Chai Matcha, White Chocolate Hazlenut, Black Sesame Coffee, Ube Coffee, and Pandan Coffee. The ube coffee felt a little too light on the ube flavor for me. Our favorites were the Chai Matcha, Black Sesame Coffee and Pandan Coffee. Balanced, flavorful, and ones we will savor in our memory until we can have it again.

Drove by this place a bunch of times before we just got curious enough to try it. It's a little shack off of South Kihei Road typically with a pretty sizable line. We parked in the lot but there was a little street parking available too. We loved the coffee a lot here. We visited two mornings in a row. Got the Pandan, Black Sesame, Ube, and Saigon coffees. Very good, price was decent, and just the sweetness/strength we were looking for. We were also able to get the croffle sticks and they were super good as well. Got the Matcha Buttercream w/Nutella Drizzle and Oreo. Very nice treat but you have to come early. Be patient since there are only two of them in there churning everything out but it is very worth it. They are really nice people and Early Bird is our favorite coffee place in the area!

This is the perfect place for an early morning choice especially if you like to support local small businesses. I appreciate the Vietnamese Coffees on the menu. There were 4 of us ordering. A Black Sesame coffee, 3 different types of Matcha lattes, 2 Chicken and Pesto Paninis. All were very good and I will hope they are still going strong when I visit the island again in the future! read more
Early Bird is such a great little shop on the island! I went here with my sister on our second day, and it was pretty busy for a Monday around noon. The line doesn't move super quickly, but once you order, the service is fast. There were only about three people working inside this little truck, but this crew is mighty! They were moving as fast as they could. Just a heads-up, it does get HOT while you're waiting, so be prepared to stand outside for a bit. What we got: Guava Matcha Latte - 8/10 Earthy and super tasty! You can really taste the guava, and I thought it paired really well with the matcha. Vietnamese Coffee - 8/10 Love that they incorporate Vietnamese coffee here! It was strong and not overly sweet, which is exactly how I like it. Ube Coffee - 7/10 A unique coffee drink! I really liked the balance between the ube and coffee. Neither flavor overpowered the other, and it worked really well together. Definitely a fan favorite on the island. Every time I'm in Kihei, I make sure to stop by Early Bird :) The owners are seriously the sweetest, and the flavors are always consistent. The coconut honey latte is my favorite so far! Honestly, everything on the menu is worth trying. Their chicken pesto panini is so ono, definitely a must. read more

This place is one of the best local coffee shops in Kīhei! Super nice staff and the drinks are amazing. I love that they keep it interesting with all the different flavors and specialty drinks. I got the iced banana bread latte with cold foam and it was so good. The paninis and croffles are also very tasty. Can't wait to come back here!! read more

We were out by the plantation and my husband wanted an ube latte which they didn't have. However the cashier recommended this place so we made our way over. Definitely worth the trip. I got the matcha latte and my husband got the Vietnamese coffee with Ube. Both were amazing. My matcha was very smooth and had the perfect amount of oatmeal. The Vietnamese coffee is strong and the sweetness from the Ube perfectly balanced it out. Highly recommend stopping by this place. The coffee shop is very unassuming and shares parking with a car rental but they have some tables to sit at. Overall amazing coffee, thank you! read more
Always love supporting fellow Maui High alumni. Finally back home for a visit & my bf & I stopped by twice! On the first visit, I was looking forward to trying the matcha, but unfortunately they were out. I asked when it'd be back & he said Wednesday. I took that as my excuse to come back again. I went with the milk tea & added brown sugar & the bf went with the ube coffee. The milk tea was delicious, perfect amount of sweetness with the brown sugar flavor. I'm not a coffee drinker at all, but oh that ube was amazing. Just the Vietnamese coffee alone was yummy. Even once mixed together, you could still taste the ube flavor in it. A few days later, I saw that matcha was back, luckily we were still here! Went with the matcha & added starwberry & bf got the pandan coffee. The smoothness of the matcha, yummm add the strawberry in there 10/10. The pandan was good as well. However because pandan is a more mild subtle flavor to begin with, once mixed it kinda disappeared, which is fine because the coffee alone is still amazing. They were busy both times we stopped by. Give them a try! Definitely want to try the cold foam next time. We'll be back for more. read more
Only coffee shop around the area that has 5.0 with 34 reviews (as of this time of writing) on Google. It was only 25 min walk from my Airbnb. Tried the Coconut Ube Signatute Drink for the first time - absolutely love it, probably one of the best I have! Came back the next day and tried Black Sesame White Chocolate Mocha - still love it!!! But still prefer Coconut Ube Coffee. Anyways, I think this might be my favorite coffee shop in Maui!!! read more

The coffee was good, not too sweet, just how I like it. But overall, nothing really stood out. It's a decent place to try if you're in Kihei or just passing through, but probably not worth going out of your way for if you're 30 minutes away. I'll likely stick to somewhere closer to home next time. But I'll definitely try them again if I'm in Kihei. read more

If you're in Maui, don't sleep on Early Bird Coffee Shop! This place is everything you want in a local gem--run by a sweet, hardworking local family that pours love into every cup. Forget the big chain cafes--this is where the real flavor and aloha live. I tried the ube Vietnamese coffee this morning and it did not disappoint! It was the perfect balance of bold coffee with just the right amount of sweetness and that unique ube flavor that makes you do a double take (in the best way). I can't wait to try the black sesame next time. What made the experience even better? The vibe. I got to "talk story" with the owner's mom--an absolute sweetheart who told me she loves hanging out there on her days off just to greet people. She even hands out water when the line gets long and the sun's beating down. Who does that anymore?! That's true aloha spirit. It's a super cute little spot, easy to miss if you're not looking for it--but absolutely worth the stop. If you love good coffee and supporting amazing local businesses, this is the spot. I tried the ube Vietnamese coffee, and it was the perfect balance--smooth, not too strong, and not overly sweet. The staff were super friendly, the prices were reasonable, and the location is perfect. My partner went with the Vietnamese coffee topped with hazelnut cold foam, and she absolutely loved it. We also ordered the veggie and chicken pesto paninis. I swapped the balsamic in my veggie panini for pesto, and it was 'ono! If I lived on the southside, this would easily be my go-to spot every morning. read more
