Wow, wish they made bread like this at home! By the way, I recommend making a reservation at OpenTable. They did have empty tables when I went in, but I assume they keep a few open for regulars and special guests. I went with their 80th anniversary $80 tasting menu for breakfast, and it worth absolutely worth it. Each dish comes paired with a drink, so there's big value here to justify the price tag. The service was outstanding as well. They started me off with a Brandy Milk Punch, which tasted kind of like an elevated eggnog. It paired with the Baked Apple. I'm not usually a big fan of apples in terms of texture, but they did it well and I liked how they stuffed the core with oatmeal. It's a nice half slice of baked apple in a tasty, brown sugar glaze. I went with the Seafood Gumbo because I didn't have the heart to eat a snapping turtle (I'm assuming), but people did say good things about it. It came with a Bloody Bull cocktail, a spin on a Bloody Mary. It wasn't my cup of tea, but I get the flavor profile and the spice pairs well with the gumbo. The soup really did help really kick things off and set the tone for the rest of the meal. I highly enjoyed their Egg Hussarde, which was invented here. I've had a lot of bennies, but this one is fantastic and paired well with the champagne. I also ordered my egg soft and it was poached perfectly! This is definitely an elevated version of Egg Benedict and I hope more places around the world adopts it! The Petit Filet Mignon had a cute presentation with their Potato Rosti and came sliced over a bed of garlic spinach and garlic demiglaze. Fantastic! The red wine 'Cuvee Vincent' Cotes du Rhone 2023 was very smooth, definitely was no $8 retail California table wine. If a dish could be a love letter, this was it. And the World Famous Bananas Foster? Magic! Love the presentation, love the story, and love the taste. You get a whole banana so the portion is good and the coffee helped cut through the sweetness. Vanilla ice cream gave it a nice, clean taste. No danger of a tourist trap here: all in all, Brennan's is absolutely worth the trip!

While you're here, I'd say that the cafe au lait is also worth trying. I noticed that the lines tend to be longer in the morning but there was little to no wait at night time. Service is mixed--some workers are really friendly while others seem rushed and are a bit harsher. It is a casual spot and you can pretty much grab any open table to be seated. One thing to note is that it is cash only. Overall, I'd highly recommend this location of cafe du monde!

I was a little confused when I first walked up, as there isn't a place to order. You simply sit at an empty table and a server comes to take your order. The beignets were warm, crispy, and covered in powdered sugar. It's hard to explain what they even tasted like because they were just that incredible. I ended up getting them again the next day--I genuinely want to make another trip out here just to have them again. Be aware that it's in a heavily tourist-filled area, but besides that, I loved this spot and will definitely be back the next time I'm in New Orleans!
