Fluffy with great flavor. Excellent syrup to match pancakes and the whipped cream and butter were great adds. Chicken sandwich was flavorful with the most amazing aoili which was slightly sweet and rich at same time. Served with freah chips. Streak and frites was the only knock. I had the steak medium but still a bit tough and not as tender as expected. But the eggs and fries made up for it. I had eggs scrambled and it was fluffy. The shoestring fries were crispy and yum! Consistent spot in Sac... Came here for lunch. Ordered a few apps and one main. Favorites were the bone marrow, burnt ends and the crab cake. Oysters were good, just they only had the one option, and size wise they were at the max of what I can handle. The only food item we didn't love was the steak. We ordered it medium rare, and it was rare and a tad cold. That was probably due to the service. Our waiter was the only one covering the entire floor, which included a big party in the back. We had the chance to try Echo & Rig the day before Mother's Day, and overall it was a great experience. For small plates, we ordered the portobello mushroom fries and the pork belly burnt ends. The mushroom fries were delicious, especially paired with the dipping sauce on the side. The pork belly burnt ends were packed with flavor and had an amazing glaze. The portion was definitely on the smaller side, but still worth it for the taste. For drinks, we tried the Blueberry Bliss, Pig & Lady, and the Blackberry Margarita. The Blackberry Margarita was easily our favorite -- not overly sweet and perfectly balanced with the margarita mix. For the main course, the three of us shared the porterhouse bone-in, tomahawk bone-in, and the ribeye cap filet. All three steaks were incredible, but the porterhouse stood out as the best overall. The marbling was perfect, and every steak was cooked to perfection. The mashed potatoes were a little underseasoned, but honestly paired well with the richness and saltiness of the steaks. The mac & cheese, however, was absolutely outstanding. The only downside was the ambiance due to how busy Mother's Day weekend was. The restaurant was extremely smoky and very hot inside, and it seemed like there wasn't enough ventilation. We completely understand longer wait times during a busy holiday weekend, but it would've been more comfortable with better airflow. Even some of the staff near the front looked overheated and were fanning themselves. That said, our server Christian made the experience even better. He was attentive, accommodating, and gave excellent recommendations throughout the night. On a work trip to Sacramento I was thrilled when I learned that there was an echo and rig in the area I was going to be visiting. Having been to the one in Las Vegas last summer I had been dreaming of their signature burger since. It was everything I remembered it being; juicy, flavorful, perfect umami taste in every bite. If you want to go a little cheaper, check out their lunch menu. I've tried the spot in Vegas and I was happy to find the one here in Sacramento. We were served by Isa, who had tremendous customer service, excellent knowledge of the menu, and made our evening feel very special. On top of that the food was phenomenal. We started with the burnt ends, thick cut bacon, and crab cake... each of which were absolutely delicious. It was clear that, even as steakhouses go, this is a craft and an art for Echo & Rig. We went to Echo and Rig for my birthday as it serves halal steaks (Creekstone). We made a reservation which allowed us to get in quick. The ambiance was very nice and it felt like everyone was there celebrating their birthdays. The server we had was amazing and even the manager came out to wish me a Happy Birthday! They were very attentive to our dietary restrictions. I would make sure to let them know you only eat halal as they do use beef tallow on their steak and potato chips which is not halal. With that onto the food: Bread/ butter: it was absolutely delicious. One of the best breads I've been served as it was warm and the butter room temperature. I would go back just for the bread. Burrata and focaccia with burnt orange sauce: this one was good. The orange sauce was a little too strong for me but the focaccia bread was good. You can see the kitchen and people looked busy but my plate took a long time to arrive - glacial. Thoughts from first visit: I stopped by in the afternoon for a drink and snack while I read. The place is not busy at the time of my visit which is nice. For snack I got: Oysters- the oysters are fresh however there are little pieces of shells everywhere. It comes with two sauces I love the red wine vinegar. Just be careful of shells when eating it~ Samosa Cigar- such fun shape in samosa. It is fried perfectly. The inside is not as flavorful as a traditional samosa but it is still very delicious. Along with the sauce is chefs kiss! For drinks I got: Pig & The Lady- it's is tropical and delicious! Tart from the passion fruit. This drink is so good! A unique creation the bartender whipped up, it's like a cosmo but with tequila. When I was ordering a second sip, they ran out of gin for that drink. So the bartender said I'll whip something up. Very cool. Service is nice and helpful. The place is connected to the Sawyer hotel so you would go across the hotel lobby to use the restroom. A nice little walk cuz the hotel is beautiful too~ Considering this is a fancy place, the food and drinks are priced as expected. Stopped by Echo & Fig in Sacramento for a solo dinner and had a solid experience overall. Chris was a great server, I was on a work call and he was courteous, attentive, and respectful of my timing. Service felt seamless. The portobello fries were fresh, crispy, and flavorful with a perfect dipping sauce, definitely a highlight. I ordered the zabuton steak. It was cooked and salted perfectly, but I probably wouldn't order this cut again. The flavor was very beef-forward , almost like burger meat in steak form. Not bad, just not my preference. Steaks come with house-made kettle chips and one Rockefeller mushroom. All other sides are à la carte. The chips, while house-made, are still just chips. The mushroom unfortunately didn't hit .. it was very dry and shriveled. The berry "shortcake" also missed the mark for me. The hibiscus was extremely chewy, and the shortcake itself was savory with a firm, almost hard biscuit texture, not what I expect when ordering shortcake. The ice cream was good, but overall the dessert was just okay. Ambiance is medium upscale with a romantic edge with a good mix of after-work diners and date nights. Been wanting to try this place for a while and since it's pretty pricey, wanted to wait for a special occasion to come. (They validate parking for 2 hours.) We made reservations online and arrived a little early. Didn't realize there was a Kings game the same day and the bar was busy, however the restaurant itself was okay and had plenty of seating available for dining in. The Ambiance: The front entrance doors were opened and stayed open because it was physically smoky (most likely from the kitchen in the back) and had a bbq like smell. Wasn't a fan of the smoke or smell but it is what it is. I feel bad for the employees if it's like that everyday. The service: We were seated in about 10 minutes. The hostesses were friendly. Our server was Jorge, he was nice. One of the Food runner's Jahee, was great (sorry if name was misspelled). I appreciate that the staff were great about refilling our water. I was really excited as I wanted to compare the flavors between Kurobuta pork and Duroc pork. My wife loved he fish, it's her new favorite. I finished it as well, you never waste protein, need those gains (lol) Here is why the rating was still a four: mistakes happen. The sweet and spicy flavor was bold but balanced, coating each bite without making it soggy. Hands down the must order dish Fried Spinach (4/5): This dish had great potential and mostly delivered. The spinach was lightly fried and flavorful, with a nice savory base. The combo of red onion, cauliflower, and broccoli gave it some body, and the chile lime vinaigrette added a zippy, tangy brightness that kept it interesting. But what it really needed was more crunch. A little more texture would have taken this from good to amazing. The Mrs. wanted to have a nice steak dinner date before seeing a movie at the DOCO. Upon walking in, did notice some of the booths have some massive tears and patched up with duct tape. Upon being seated, 3 people came up to us to ask us if it was our first time and we were also asked by the hostess who walked us to our table. Seemed excessive and shows lack of cohesion with the front of house. We ordered some cocktails, a gin city and a dress to empress. My wife liked her cocktail ok but quickly switched to wine. My gin city was not well balanced. It sat with 2 sips taken almost the entire service and no one asked me about it. We started with thick cut bacon, roasted broccolini, shrimp cocktail, fried spinach salad (I know, but someone recommended it), a bavette steak, and a ribeye cap steak. What I liked: cook of the steaks were on point. The thick cut bacon was solid. What was fine: The broccolini had a decent smoky quality to it. What needed help: The shrimp cocktail came with 3 shrimp for $18. Kind of a weird number for an item often shared between 2 people and certainly not a good value at $6 per shrimp. I don't like that they include zero weights for the steaks. Most great steakhouses will do this. What I hated: The sides that come with the steak are poorly executed and unnecessary. The potato chips were burnt and completely unseasoned. The stuffed mushrooms were dry and tasted of almost nothing (very underseasoned). So much prep and cost to have these sides just drag down the overall value/experience. They just became a nuisance that I had to eat around because there was no way I was gonna eat it all. The fried spinach salad was a greasy over-dressed mess. Would have never ordered this without a recommendation, but this thing isn't even a salad nor is it executed well. I see that this place wants to be upscale, but it's not. The front of house hasn't improved since they opened (2019??). The cocktails aren't great but they are just as expensive as anywhere else. The sides for the steak are a crime. Just leave them off! This still feels like a place that can't quite figure it out. Granted, Sac is kind of a terrible steak town so that has worked in favor of weaker steak experiences à la Echo and Rig, but I doubly this place has what it takes to truly last. I asked the waitress which steak she would suggest and she suggested filet tenderloin or the Spencer, I went with the Spencer it was cooked well but under seasoned. The chimichurri added a lot of flavor, the roasted garlic mash was good but also under salted. My husband got the swordfish and he enjoyed it. Service was incredible, and the ambiance was top tier. I ordered the ribeye and I was a little underwhelmed - too fatty and not tender. The Mac n cheese was great, so were the oysters. Great service and ambiance but the food is just not memorable! I have attempted to dine here before but never seem to be amazed.

Ambiance decor nice modern, but too LOUD!!! That's the problem with new interior restaurante designs. Jorge great server, but had to wait for a while to find out they no longer had muscato. Food- 2 of the oysters were too fishy tasting. The fresh bread was good with the soft butter. First time dining on rib eye cap (who knew). Cut was small considering the cost. Taste was same as a regular rib eye cut, but with the rib eye cap there was a lot of fat which the server suggested I order it medium and not medium rare. The cut was overly over powered by the charred prep. Would O order again -No. Especially not for the price of such a small cut. There was a side dish of cauliflower and other veggies that was absolutely delicious and was probably better tasting the awful potatoe n/garlic chips(ugh). read more

It was a pleasure to go to a restaurant that actually relied on decent seasoning rather than chili for flavor. I had the pork chop and it was one of the best flavored ones I have had in the Sacramento area! It came with cabbage that was very tasty too. I was there for lunch and walked right in, but having a reservation is very much advised. The server was polite and fairly knowledgeable about the items on the menu. It was a nice place with a combination of table and booth seating although it was a bit "open" if you are looking for some place more secluded. There is outdoor seating and that looked inviting. There is a bar and bar type seating also. At first I thought it might be one of the places that was surviving only because it is next to The Golden 1 Arena, but I was wrong. This place was alright, but not a blow-your-socks-off great steakhouse. Located in the Kimpton Sawyer Hotel at DOCO, this place enjoys prime real estate right next to the arena, and makes it easy to find. Additionally, there's plenty of parking---especially on non-event nights at the arena. While you do have to pay, this establishment will validate your parking, and you get up to 2 hours free. When arriving, we were very promptly seated, but we did have a reservation. I'd suggest getting a reservation, as I've noticed they can get pretty busy. The staff was generally good, although at times it seemed that there were longer waits. You do get a generous portion of bread and butter, and along with that, we ordered a salad, our mains, and a side of mashed potatoes. The salad was good, and we really enjoyed eating that. The mains were interesting; I had seen in previous reviews that there are generous portions of chips served with it. The waiter said it was more of a garnish, but when the dish was actually served, there is quite a generous amount. The chips themselves were alright. The mushroom served alongside was nice, but wasn't too memorable. The steak itself was ok; I had asked for medium rare, but it was definitely closer to medium/medium-well. Overall, just an ok steak. My companion made a comment being surprised on the size of their steak being smaller than expected. You do get a selection of one of the sauces, and I was able to try both the charred onion and the chimichurri . The chimichurri wasn't the best version of it I've had; it lacked a punch that better chimichurri has. The charred onion was better, and I actually enjoyed it. For our sides of mashed potatoes, they were solid. It was a solid-sized portion. I really wished the supposed-to-be star of the night, the steak (I ordered a ribeye) was executed better. read more
