I decided to give this place another chance for a special occasion, and unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing. We booked the Mother's Day brunch, and both the food and overall experience were very underwhelming. For the price, the quality of the food was nowhere near worth it. Honestly, it was comparable to a basic hotel continental breakfast. The buffet options were limited, the food itself was not good, and we only stayed in the buffet area for about 15 minutes before leaving. What made the experience even more frustrating was the lack of communication from the staff. Our server never explained how the brunch setup worked, including the fact that the food was spread across three separate rooms. We didn't even find that out until we were already leaving the area. I would not recommend this place for special occasions, especially for brunch buffets. If you're looking for a memorable experience, I'd strongly suggest trying Grand Island Mansion instead -- that brunch experience is actually worth the price. To be fair, once we left the buffet area and were seated in the main dining room, that part of the experience went smoothly. I had hyped up the restaurant so so much I had been to this restaurant before with no problems. I have been to their nightclub before I don't know what under the sun on the moon and stars was the difference last night, but I was so disgusted and embarrassed at their Pizza Hut service.... And I told him "hi booth for four it's my friend's birthday" :D Once I finish saying that the phone rang and he picked up the f*cking phone We were standing there for three minutes While he's taking reservation, I really felt he could've answered and said "please hold" We were there first ??? I would understand if this was a pizza joint and that they're limited to how many drivers that they have available and they have to take every call Or that they're taking DoorDash orders this is a upscale restaurant. We visited V's Paradise yesterday to celebrate my mother's 70th birthday, and the experience was flawless from start to finish. We'd booked reservations a month in advance because my mom had been following them on social media, and the reality exceeded the hype. The vibes of the restaurant are the perfect blend of classic historic charm and sophisticated modern dining--it's a beautiful space. The hospitality is next-level. Fardeen greeted us warmly and stepped in seamlessly whenever needed. Our server, Zane, was incredibly knowledgeable and guided us through the menu with perfect recommendations. We were even surprised by the owner, Vardan, who personally wished my mother a happy birthday--he is truly genuine and thoughtful. Richard, the general manager, also took the time to share the family history of the business and gave us a tour of the establishment. He even explained the story behind every dish we ordered! The Food & Drinks: The menu is exceptional. We started with the Strawberry Paradise, Old Fashioned, Vodka Martini, and Moscow Mule--all perfectly balanced. For the table, the Meat and Chicken Kebabs and the Chicken Fried Oysters were tender and packed with flavor. We also shared a Tomahawk that my mother described as "cooked to perfection." Our individual entrées--the Halibut, Wagyu Short Rib, NY Steak, and the 5 oz. Japanese Wagyu--were PHENOMENAL. The quality of the meat was exquisite; it takes a lot to impress me, but I was blown away. A huge shoutout to Sasha, who was a total pro at the end of the night, coming in clutch to capture our group photos from every angle to make sure we had the perfect memories. First visit, came with girlfriends for R&B brunch on 3rd Sunday of the month. I believe every Sunday there is a different music genre which might be a new thing for V's. They had a dj but the music isn't too loud that you can't carry on a conversation at the table. It was great music and set the tone for more of a chill vibe (versus other R&B brunch spots that have more of a club/day party atmosphere). V's Paradise is modern elegance, yet not pretentious. It's beautiful. It is located front & center in Old Sac, so I saw quite a mix of customers come in, from the super casual tourist, baseball fans, dressed up couples, and trendy fashionistas. I made a reservation for 11am, but it really didn't get busy til after 12:30pm. I think once the word is out that they have weekend brunch (with a dj), you'll definitely need to make reservations. The dining rooms are gorgeous (restroom too!). Love the velvet furniture and all of the gold and marble accents. V's would make an impressive and sexy date night, or for just any special occasion. I sipped on a mango lemon drop ($15) at the bar while I waited for my friends. With brunch I ordered the most expensive sangria ($18) I've ever had, and it was strong, fruit forward, and beautifully presented. I would order this again. For our mains, we had the roasted vegetable panini ($19) with fries, the burger ($24) with potatoes, and the bacon and eggs ($22) with potatoes and sourdough toast. My panini was good, nothing great. I think they could've used a thinner bread, instead of a hoagie. The crispy matchstick fries were delicious. I asked for a side of ranch, and our server Tyler informed me it was and extra $4! WTF? Really? I didn't need ranch that badly. I do appreciate Tyler for letting me know in advance though. I bet people have complained that they didn't know about that absurd extra charge when they got the bill, and the restaurant had to eat the cost. Kudos to Tyler for avoiding that incident with me. LOL He also saved my friend from ordering the $175 tomahawk steak. She was thinking it was something else and didn't even notice the price. When she ordered it, I looked at her like she was crazy, and Tyler politely steered her away from that suggesting if we we all wanted to share it. The tomahawk is 48oz of meat! Came with some girlfriends for brunch because they posted they had a DJ playing reggaeton music that day and thought it would be a fun vibe. The DJ was set up but he wasn't playing any music, it was all regular music over the loudspeakers. Maybe because it was dead inside??? Anyways, we got a carafe of mimosas which was ridiculously expensive ($55), my friends both got the crab cake Benedict and I opted for the frittata. My frittata was mediocre, it honestly lacked flavor. I had to drown it in Siracha. My potatoes were a tad burn as well. My friends devoured the crab cake Benedict tho, so that must have been good. Overall, I feel this place is a one and done experience for me. I get the location and overhead must be crazy high for this place, but I couldn't justify some of their prices (especially that mimosa carafe). We went to V's Paradise specifically because they had a live saxophonist, and it ended up being a great experience. We came during brunch when the space was bright and not too crowded. The hostess and our server were very attentive, they let us choose our seats and even moved us closer to the saxophone, which we appreciated. I ordered hot water, which surprisingly can be hard to get at some places, so I was pleased they brought it without any issue. We tried the Dubai Espresso Martini; it was good, though I think next time I'd just stick with a regular espresso martini. For food, we ordered the Crab Cake Benedict, the French toast, and a side salad that wasn't even on the menu. The crab cakes were delicious and full of flavor. We added a side of fries because they were recommended, and they did not disappoint; thin, crispy, and well seasoned. The French toast was tasty, especially with the compote. The side salad felt very fall-inspired, and I was genuinely impressed with how quickly they put it together even though it wasn't listed on the menu. Lovely bar...shady practices. Ordered the devil's flowers Pinot (@ $15 glass) and when the check came it showed a $25 Pinot plus tax. When I called the bartender out on it, he made it sound like I hadn't specified which Pinot when I ordered, and he just assumed it was the most expensive one when I literally said, "I will have the devil's flower Pinot." I really wanted to love this place. The ambiance is beautiful, and I had high hopes despite the 3.7-star rating, I figured maybe brunch would be a better experience. I spent a lot of time searching for a nice brunch/lunch spot with a solid kids' menu, and since my son loves steak, I was excited to see that option offered. We made a reservation for 10 to celebrate a big milestone for him, expecting a special and enjoyable experience. Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. We called multiple times in advance, even mentioning the occasion, and no one informed us that a Taco & Margs bar crawl would be happening at the same time. When we arrived, there was a line out the door and down the street, blocking the entrance. Inside, the music was so loud that we could barely hear the people sitting right next to us. Our waiter was very kind and did his best under what seemed like difficult circumstances. The appetizers came out quickly, but the rest of the food was extremely delayed and arrived sporadically, making it impossible for us to eat together. It took about 1.5 hours for several dishes to come out, including my child's pasta and my aunt's meal. My aunt is diabetic, and the delay nearly caused a medical emergency. I had to urgently ask the waiter to prioritize getting her food out. My crab cake Benedict initially came out with hard-boiled eggs instead of poached. While they did remake it, it didn't arrive until we were already serving cake. When I finally tried it, the crab cake was mushy and underwhelming, and the eggs were still overcooked. The drinks were excellent, but also quite overpriced. Most of the other food was just okay. The general manager stopped by to thank us for coming and mentioned this wasn't a typical Saturday, but there was no real apology for the experience. After a $500+ bill, the only compensation offered was the cake-cutting fee and a glass of milk. The space itself is beautiful, and the seating was comfortable, especially the couch, which at least gave our kids a place to lie down while waiting (hungry) for their food. While they do offer a kids' menu, I wouldn't consider this a kid-friendly environment. Overall, a disappointing experience given the occasion. There was a photographer that was taking photos of each table. She returned with them framed for sale, which we thought was a bit tacky. Either give a complimentary photo as memorabilia like other upscale steakhouses do, otherwise don't interrupt us for photos and sales like you would experience at an amusement park. $25 is what we overheard the price for 1 picture in a plastic frame was! DINING: the salad were fresh, wines listed paired well with entrees, charcuterie board contents were all well chosen. The cheese was creamy and sweet. For main courses we picked halibut (a bit fishy tasting/smelling), steak (exceptional here!), and corn risotto (amazing!). They were very considerate of my dietary restrictions and were able to make the dish vegetarian (and can make it vegan too!) PLEASE GET DESSERT AND COFFEE HERE! Amelia (bartender)..Fardeen..the General Manager...and the owner are all very professional and take pride in what they are serving to their customers. I love the kabobs so I ordered one to eat at the restaurant and the other to go. The meat is well seasoned and I love their hummus that goes with the dish. They have happy hour on Wednesdays and Thursdays and I enjoyed a nice glass of red wine with my appetizer( the beef kabob is enough for 2 people and more of an entree because I am not a big eater!) Went here for Valentine's Day. $175 per person for a prefixed menu 4 course meal. I haven't been here for the full menu to choose from but when I went it just felt like a money grab. The 4 course meal in total came out to $400. It included a small appetizer that you had to share, a small soup that they gave both, a salad that we had to share "wasn't exactly to my liking ", a main course you could choose from 3 different dishes which was short ribs, roasted chicken and scallops. Then desert which you also shared... I get it's a fine dining restaurant and I've been to different restaurants before like Morton's, Firehouse, the Kitchen, even Ruth's Chris which I try to avoid because the quality over the years has gone down significantly. I can honestly say I didn't really quite enjoy the food. I've never spent that much and feel cheated. If I'm spending $400 on food for two and I have to share a small 2 piece appetizer with a main course that just has mash potatoes, artichokes and roasted chicken on top then I would have just stayed home. Nothing really stood out to where I was like wow, this is really good. Not only that but the service took hellaaaa long. How you gonna have a prefixed menu and still have a long ass wait in between courses? We were there for 3 hours, waiting outside for 30minutes to be seated and still waiting between courses for a duration of 2 hours. Not only that but they brought out the wrong food for my girl and she ended up having to wait for hers so we ended up sharing my plate cause we were both hungry from the small portions and the waiting and by the time her correct order came out we already finished my main course. It was just an unpleasant experience. Not to mention the table next to us said we missed the picture taking. They showed us a framed picture. Well we couldn't do that cause we were still waiting outside to be seated for our RESERVED table that I paid for in advance... so only half the people inside got their pictures taken I'm assuming cause there was a lot of us waiting outside. All in all, way overpriced for what it was. I'd have just gone to Ruth's Chris and get 2 fat tomahawk steaks and actually be full. You can either due quality or quantity. If you're not gonna give me quantity at least let it be higher quality dishes. We ended up eating again somewhere else cause it wasn't enough. But seriously, it was very lazy and non creative for the dishes they served. No steak for that cost is just crazy to me. My Mother's Day brunch experience was extremely disappointing. My daughter paid a $75 deposit to reserve our table. I arrived first and was refused seating until my two daughters arrived. If the deposit secured the reservation, there should not have been an issue seating me -- especially since the buffet for my seat was already paid for whether the others arrived or not. I explained to the host that I am currently recovering from knee replacement surgery and needed to sit down. I was eventually offered a chair while waiting. When we were finally seated, the table only accommodated two people even though our reservation was for three. When I pointed this out to the hostess, she responded, "I already have the seating planned out." My response was, "Well, you did not plan well." We were eventually moved to a larger table. The food experience was also disappointing. The bacon was served raw and we had to specifically request that it be cooked well done. The most unacceptable part was that water began leaking from the ceiling directly into my plate. When the owner was informed, he responded by saying it was "clean water coming from the AC." Regardless of the source, water leaking through a ceiling into someone's food is unacceptable. He also stated that shutting off the AC would require canceling the buffet and only offered me a clean plate -- which I had already gotten myself. No apology, discount, or other effort was made to address the situation. Overall, this establishment seems far more focused on ambiance than customer service or guest experience. read more

I'd been wanting to try V's Paradise in Old Sacramento since it opened and finally went. The staff was friendly and attentive, which made for a great start. We ordered two Mimosa Carousels ($95 each). The presentation was cute, but it felt like more juice than liquor--not worth the price. For appetizers, the lobster toast ($17) was unique but not my taste, and the halibut aguachile ($24) was pretty good, though the menu mentioned a tostada that never came. For mains, we tried a steak with scallops, but the steak was dry with a strong mezcal flavor (not listed on the menu), steak sauce extra $4.The tomahawk ($250) came with mac and cheese and fries and took over 45 minutes. The chef brought it out with a little show, which was entertaining but unnecessary when you just want your food. Overall, the experience was fun to try once, but the food and drinks don't justify the high prices. I probably wouldn't return. read more

We came here for a very special occasion and V's Paradise pulled out all the stops to make it special! It started with complimentary bubbly and didn't stop until the check came. The food was delicious! We had Scallops and Steak with two potato based sides. Everything was absolutely amazing! 10/5 would recommend those meals. The service was top notch from start to finish! The staff checked on us to ensure our night was special and it was! The ambiance of this place is super cool! They had a DJ spinning all night which was great! If you are looking for a special place or just a place in general with fantastic food. This is your spot! Check it out! You will not be disappointed. read more

This was our first time coming here, we heard about the restaurant lounge through social media and friends that have been here. For starters, we were seated at the bar at first, we were waiting to be seated at one of the tables & we decided to get drinks. We ordered The House Sangria, an Armenian Dream, and a glass of Cab. Super yummy, the drinks did not disappoint. We were celebrating our sister's birthday and she even got a free shot from the couple that was sitting next to us. The bartenders were super nice & quick as well. If you wanna just get drinks, you will be super satisfied for sure. After getting some drinks, we were seated in the main dining area & let me just compliment the esthetic of the restaurant. Super modern, it gave high-end, it low key gave more lounge than restaurant. We loved how it looked and felt. The live DJ was super dope too, shout out to him. Our waiter Roosevelt was super nice, his customer service was A1 and we enjoyed him overall. Despite the esthetics, the staff and the drinks being on point. We were actually disappointed about our food, we ordered the Ribeye and the Lamb Chops. The presentation was beautiful, it just lacked seasoning to us, my steak had no body, it was bland. Despite the food not being up to par, in our opinion. It was a busy rainy Sunday night. Everyone was very sweet and accommodating. We ordered 2 apps, the chicken wings and the scallop crudo. The crudo was devine! I could have eaten 3 of them but alas I had to share. The buffalo chicken wings were just ok. They were buffalo chicken wings (wink). My daughter ordered the lamb chops and added scallops. My husband ordered the steak fries with shrimp and I ordered the ribeye with a lobster tail. Everything was really good! Keep in mind, all the seafood was extra. The food was lukewarm and that is my only complaint. I would totally eat there again! Keep in mind, it was pricey which is why we went for a birthday dinner. read more

So this was a good time. I made a reservation for dinner on a Saturday night. Saw this place on social media and had it favorited on my Yelp. Took hubby for his bday. We shared the Cesar salad, I had two espresso martinis, hubby had the v's fashioned, we shared avocado toast, and my entree was the seafood pasta. Now check the correct names for the items I'm describing but this is essentially what I ordered lol. All of the food was good, my martini was delicious and service was excellent. The general manager came out and spoke with us for a while. He was a very nice man who was kind and personable. He even sent over a complimentary birthday treat after learning why we came. This was such an interesting experience. Let's start with the fact that they call this an elegant dining experience. I would beg to differ. Mo Bamba was literally blasting and one of the servers was spinning a napkin up in the air and dancing like we are at a sporting event. Additionally, they came by and took photos of us, sure that's fine that's cute. But then they come around to sell them in these tacky frames. Has any of this sounded like an elegant dining experience? No. I have had a better experience at Outback Steakhouse. This is not worth your money or your time. Which is really disappointing since the restaurant is in a cool building of Old Sacramento. The food actually wasn't awful but was overshadowed with all of the above. What V's Paradise IS and what it WANTS to be are different. They need to accept that they are a wannabe Vegas experience and not a classy or dignified venue. Spend your money anywhere else but here for an elegant dining experience. There are so many good places in Sacramento and it's not here. read more

I was almost going to give the restaurant a 5 star rating but I was so disappointed when I got home and discovered the waiter gave my friend my risotto leftovers The lobster risotto was so delicious, I was savoring each bite. It was smooth, creamy, a little taste of heaven in each bite. Instead I received my friend's seafood pasta which wasn't bad, it just wasn't as amazing as the risotto. One tip, the Armenian Caesar salad has a topping of breadcrumbs which has a strong cumin flavor so be careful if cumin isn't your seasoning. Lastly, you can't go wrong with a glass of red wine and some garlic fries. Speaking of wine, this place will get you in the mood to dance and the waiters will be ready to dance with you. This restaurant is very fancy and pricey. Nice decorations inside. 7:35pm we arrived here. I thought Raphalel was going to be our server but it switched to Lacey. While he was at our table I sneezed and he said salute 2 times. I sneezed third time and he made a joke and it was so funny. He was very likeable and gentleman. Our server switched to Lacey. She became our main server, she was very friendly and sweet. 8:04pm waiting for food. 8:20pm we got salad. 8:23 got appetizer (shrimp lobster toast). A different server named Amelia served us salad. We ordered Old fashion- came smoking-super strong for me, Lemon drop, Ny steak frites, Ribeye, Filet mignon, and Caesar salad with vinegrette. Shrimp lobster toast, white sauce tastes sour, orange sauce tastes smooth mayo and mild not sour, bread is very rich and buttery. Since our food was taking too long, I finally asked when our food would be coming since it's been almost an hr. They said they have a huge party so I guess. To the guy with the curly hair with the bad perm, he was rude, we asked if he can take our pics, he said yeah but walked away. I guess he was busy. There were fruit flies flying around our drinks and food so the restaurant would need to get that fixed. I couldn't get a picture because my ladies were squatting them away. What an experience! My friend and I came on a Thursday night, it was not too busy and we did not need a deposit for the reservation. We were initially sat at a two seater table, kind of small so we asked for a booth, and that was thankfully accommodated. I really need to start remembering names because our waiter was amazing and he made sure we were good the entire time. Mind you, we were there for about three hours lol The food was great! We ordered a ribeye and a New York steak, we also tried the caviar. I read some of the lower star reviews and maybe things are different on the weekends, but I had an awesome experience here and my friend and I will definitely make this our new go to! And if you do order a tomahawk, be prepared for some entertainment! I personally thought it was pretty cool! read more

My friends brought me here for my birthday and it was amazing food and entertainment. The entire experience was beautiful we had a live singer the entire dinning experience. At that time they had a sushi chef on service, sushi was made to order which I absolutely loved. I will definitely go back for the experience again. read more

definitely cannot stop raving about the spot came here to get a drink for my son's birthday and get the kebab because I am infatuated with the kebab is so delicious so much flavor. It was big enough for us. All four to share also had their happy hour old-fashioned it was really good. My daughter-in-law had the raspberry lemon drop. That was good. This restaurant is definitely a hidden gem in the Sacramento area. In short, the experience and the service were excellent. We definitely recommend this place and will come back. He not only made us feel welcomed as we entered the restaurant, he engaged us throughout our time there. Shane was a great bartender. The drinks were on point. I had the Blood Orange Margarita. Later that evening, we had dinner reservations for my birthday. Again, Fardeen and the staff took great care of us. Thank you! + Cuisine They have a unique take on some traditional dishes. They mix in an Armenian flair with much of the menu. They have the best Caesar salad we've ever tasted. The filet mignon was mouthwatering and the scallops were delicious.
