I have been searching for ways to reduce my carbon footprint and live a more low-waste lifestyle and I am so excited to have finally found this place! I originally heard of this place when I saw their table at the Costa Mesa farmer's market and when they said they were opening up a store front at The Lab, I knew I had to check it out. I went over the weekend and refilled my containers of distilled white vinegar and cleaning spray for counter tops - grand total $4 (this is a steal as my white vinegar container was massive). They also had a large selection of reusable bags (produce bags, grocery bags, ziplock style, etc) and a variety of beauty products (shampoos, toothpaste, witch hazel, facial oils, etc). I decided not to go too crazy this time, but am excited to explore some of those items next time. Also the woman working there was super friendly. Tldr: this store is awesome & thanks for bringing zero-waste & refill stations to the community! I first became a patron of Eco Now at a local farmers market and ordered more items from their online store as gifts for family members. Thea was selling hand-sewn produce bags & while she wasn't the first to come up with this concept, she chose very cute textiles & patterns that even my kid uses them for storing her toys in the car! I'm shocked at the bad reviews of "stealing product ideas" since they're everyday household items that are repurposed. Not only did I see similar items on google but Etsy & Pinterest as well. There are shops that sell hair bows for kids & pottery for small plants. Are those stores stealing someone else's idea? Thea brought the concept of zero waste products to OC & has been an excellent resource for the community. I love this store & it's been a relief to know I can get hand soap & household cleaning supplies from the shop with the current state of affairs. Love this store! It is a great place to browse if you're thinking about being more environmentally conscious and reducing unnecessary waste but not sure where to start. All the staff I have encountered is so incredibly friendly too so don't hesitate to ask for help! I personally refill my body wash soap here. If you are a fan of the fragrances from essential oils like lavender and tea tree, you'll love the scents! You can bring your own container or buy an reusable one at the store. There is a little scale on the table at the center of the store when you walk into the store where you can find the weight of your container. You write that weight down on the container itself using one of the pencils provided and you can go refill it with whatever you need! At the end, staff will weigh out your container with your product and subtract the initial weight of the container. Out of their body washes I've tried the lavender and tea tree and both smell amazing. They turn my shower into a mini therapy session because they are so calming and almost intoxicating. Sometime the more natural body washes leave a "squeaky" clean feel after the soap is washed off but not these ones! The store also does contactless pickup or delivery which is super helpful! read more
