I took my car to Edge to have the brakes pad changed to ceramic, to reduce the extreme amount of brake dust from the factory pads. The first set of pads received from the supplier were semi metallic not ceramic. Dan caught the error immediately before they were installed. I left the car at the shop so Dan could contact his supplier and reorder the pads. I received a call later that day informing me that he received the ceramic pads. No problems with the front. They were installed without any issues. However the rear pads were ceramic but not the right size and that he would have to do some research to find out what's going on. Mind you the car is a 2024 so there may be some parts discrepancies. I returned back to the shop to pickup the car but they were having trouble clearing the service mode messages from the screen. Dan assured me that it was just a communication error and I could drive the car while they sourced the correct scan tool and figure out what's going on with the part number for the rear pads. It was the end of the day so I decided I would leave the car. Dan arranged for me to have a rental and assured me they would sort out the rear brake pads and service mode issue the next day. The next day I received a call from Dan. He sourced the correct scan tool, cleared the service mode messages and worked with his vendor to find the correct rear brakes. The car was good to go. Problems happen in life but it's how you respond to them that makes the difference. I was treated like a VIP. They drove me to the rental car office and secured a vehicle for me and I never had to call and obtain a status. Dan kept me in the loop 100% along the way. With this particular 2024 model the manufacturer and vendors still haven't fully synched up but Dan figured it all out. Great service, communication, polite and professional. I purchased an E46 M3 from TX but was unable to get it to pass CA smog test due an issue with the secondary air monitor. I previously took it to another BMW shop who had the car for several days but weren't able to fix it. I brought it in to Ryan and Edge as kind of a last resort. Brought my 2013 Corolla in for front strut replacements and CV boot replacement after getting a full inspection from a nearby Toyota dealership. Maybe you're wondering "why take your commuter car to a shop specializing in track and performance cars?". Because people who work on cars being pushed that hard know their stuff! :) Ryan was amazing. From the prompt follow up calls when booking my appointment and getting a quote, to inspecting my car and giving me all of the details. I really felt like I was getting help from a friend who was looking out for me. Three big things I want to point out: - The Toyota dealership quoted me for a replacement (struts) I didn't actually need. They wanted to get me in for expensive work without it being necessary (disappointing but not surprising of course). Ryan could have easily followed through with the replacement and earned more since I was the one who asked for it and didn't know any better. Instead he was upfront, told me that there was actually a much more minor issue, and the struts did not need replacement at this time. This saved me at least $800. - An issue I had been experiencing for over a year (squealing when braking hard) that recently turned into a bigger issue (LOUD thumping) I originally assumed may have been the struts, turned out instead to be my brake drums. The garage I previously took my car to (who were the ones that originally replaced these parts) claimed and assured me that it was due to dust and nothing to worry about, yet the problem persisted and only worsened. Twice I took the car in to the other garage and each time they couldn't resolve it. Ryan identified the issue immediately and fixed it the same day. I've been driving the car for a little over a week now and it's finally stopped thumping. - Ryan showed me exactly what the issue with the old brake drums was and brought the part out for me to take a look at. I'll never pass up an opportunity to be educated because hey, cars are complicated and you need to know what's going on even when taking them in for repairs. Really appreciated that gesture as most places are too busy and just want you in and out. Take your car here. I'm a fussy hard to please human. TL:DR Ryan did what he said and more. Highly Recommend. I asked them to install an M Performance limited slip differential into my beloved new-to-me BMW M240i. They did it in less time and for a little less money than they quoted (I wouldn't expect that every time). Both of those numbers were lower than any of the seven other shops I called - and some of those shops (some with more and full five star reviews) had never done this installation before. When they finished, they test drove it and told me there was a slight rattle that they suspected came from items in my trunk. I removed the items, drove the car, and heard the faint rattle. Ryan then rode with me and heard it - no excuses, no "some rattles are normal" he just asked to put it back up on the rack, tracked it down, and had it back out for me to test drive in minutes, literally. Problem solved and explained. Again, no hassle, no talk back, just getting it done right. And they didn't mark up my interior. Very very impressed. Edge isn't convenient to my location. They're an hour away and I expect I'll go back for just about anything I need. Last, when I was there, every car in the shop was performance oriented. All had high performance summer tires (or racing tires) and some had visible suspension mods. People who drive their cars very hard trust this place. So far, I do, too. Avoid this place. My Hyndai Sonata wouldn't start, and this place was close enough, so they have got my business. They quickly figured out that starter had to be replaced. They replaced it relatively fast (I dropped the car at noon, and picked it up at 6pm). However, they charged me $780 for this work. They did not provide an itemized explanation of charges - just stated $350 for parts and $390+ for labor. JFYI Starter for Hyndai Sonata at dealership price is $279 with same warranty as at this place, and it is a 2-hour job. $200/hour for a mechanical fix sounds like something a Lambo dealership would be charging. When I asked about the labor costs, they explained to me that they tested something in the car. When I asked for a test report, they told me that everything is OK with the car. Seems very unprofessional. Would not recommend. I am giving them one star for actually fixing the car. read more

He also confirmed they could take before and after pictures of the job and that they use walnut blasting for the job, which is the way to go if you really want it clean. He called me up and scheduled me in. I ended up dropping my car off and picking it up at the end of the day. I rented a car from the Enterprise down the street, which was reserved in advance by Edge. The job took a little longer than expected. What turned to be a 4pm estimate ended up being a 5:30pm estimate. Thankfully, Ryan kept me updated on timing through texting. They did a great job, and I'm happy with their work. I would bring my VW back to them in Dublin despite having options in San Jose for similar work. read more

Brought my car here to install downpipes. Spoke with Ryan over the phone who gave me a straight up no BS quote for labor time and cost and explained it all. Also labor rate was better than anywhere I called locally. Dude was super pleasant and honest. I'm a big fan of EDGE Motorworks. Ryan Roche and his team did an excellent job of taking care of my MINI Convertible. The clutch failed in my 2012 vehicle and I had it towed to their shop. EDGE arranged to help me get a rental car for a great price at a nearby facility. The cost estimate for the repair was pretty high. Ryan helped me figure out how we could lower the price and completed the job ahead of schedule. EDGE also generously ended up covering the rental car cost as I was closing out my bill. Over the next few days, I had a couple of other issues pop up that weren't related to the clutch repair job. Ryan and his brother came to my house to assess the issue and dropped me off at a coffee shop so they could check it out in more detail back at their shop. A couple of hours later, they came back to the coffee shop and delivered my MINI in good working condition.
