My visit in Wilmette continues with a brunch today at the Egg Harbor Cafe. My family said Egg Harbor is great with little ones - and our 2 year old tested their hospitality, and the restaurant passed with flying colors! I ordered a Veggie Omelette with onions, red and green peppers, mushrooms, tomatoes, and cheddar cheese. I was surprised to see the cheese melted on top of the omelette - but it worked perfectly. The veggies inside were sautéed, and had a superb fresh taste! It was an excellent omelette. The omelette came with Harbor potatoes and an English Muffin. I substituted pancakes for the muffin. The Harbor potatoes, which are bite size home fries, were very good - a slightly crisp exterior and a soft, fluffy interior. They come with a light garnish of freshly chopped green onions. Since I had just been to the Original Pancake House right down the street, I ordered a side of Pancakes. I thought I was back at the Pancake House, as the pancakes were so similar! They were very light and fluffy, with a perfectly golden texture. Egg Harbor provided a bottle of delicious maple syrup at our table - I poured a generous amount over the pancakes. What a great dish that was the perfect compliment to my omelette! A member of my family also ordered the Cherrywood Avocado Toast. Egg Harbor uses a thick slice of sourdough bread topped with lightly seasoned mashed avocado, and creamy goat cheese and diced Cherrywood smoked bacon. The toast is garnished with chopped red onion and a sweet fig balsamic glaze. It's served with fresh fruit and two eggs. I didn't taste the toast, but was told it was delicious! We went to Egg Harbor Cafe for Sunday brunch with my family. My son had a hot chocolate and mac 'n' cheese with potatoes, my partner had the eggs Benedict with salmon and loaded potatoes, and I tried the chorizo chilaquiles. The drinks were good -- my partner loved his latte and my son enjoyed his hot chocolate. As for the food, it was... okay. For the price, my chilaquiles were smaller than expected and definitely didn't match the photo advertised. The consistency was off -- one side of the tortilla chips was soaked in green sauce while the other side was completely dry. The chorizo was mixed into the salsa rather than nicely layered under the eggs, which made the presentation a bit sloppy. My partner's eggs Benedict and potatoes were fine, but overall, the dishes felt pretty basic. It's not a bad spot for brunch, but I expected more for the price and presentation. read more

Stopped by for Sunday brunch. Very nice new modern place on Greenbay. There are several locations for this restaurant. Service was fairly good. The servers are pretty busy on Sundays. Once we could order, we got our food fairly quickly. Pancakes were good. I'm not a huge fan of whole grain pancakes, but these were tasty. Loved their thick MB specialty bacon. Eggs were fine. I wish that the pancakes were a little less "healthy". read more

Came in for brunch on a Saturday with my family. The restaurant was much larger than I expected, and was cutely decorated. My dad got the iced brown sugar latte and it was so good, I had to order my own. For food, I ordered a build your own skillet with over easy eggs, bacon, red peppers, jack cheese, salsa, and sour cream. This came served over potatoes and with a side of an English muffin. I will say that my meal itself was good and flavorful, but I feel like the peppers could have been cooked more for a softer texture - but that's a personal preference. They have a house seasoning that it absolutely delicious, I would definitely recommend sprinkling some over your meal. Unfortunately we seemed to be forgotten about towards the end of our meal and sat waiting for quite a while to get our waitress's attention to get the check while she folded silverware and chatted with coworkers at the table next to us. AMAZING! Let's start with this, greeted with a friendly smile and seated immediately. All staff we interacted with on this sunny Saturday was very nice and welcoming. There is GREAT ambiance and seating options at this cafe. Caramel Macchiato for the win!!! It was so good I was using my spoon for the yummy sides. I had to tell the barista this was in the top 2 that I've ever had and this is my go to drink. The Barrington Benedict with fruit was sooo good. The egg was perfectly poached and the rest was perfect temperature and bite. The season fruit bowl was tasty. I came with my children during winter break. Parking was easy to find on Central but the entrance is on Green Bay. We were seated right away and our waitress checked in on us often. I had a cup of coffee with the San Antonio skillet. I enjoyed the skillet very much and ended up taking half of it home. I ordered a kid's breakfast for one of my children and I'm surprised it didn't come with any toast or side. It was only a plate of bacon, eggs, and a fruit skewer for $6.99. I ended up giving her the English muffin that came with my meal. My other daughter had a bagel and side of potatoes. The potatoes are very good! read more

It was my first time coming here and they have such an extensive menu. I got the brown sugar latte, kind of a dupe to Starbucks, but honestly wayyyy better! Been going to the Lake Forest location for 20 years & still love it. Also been to several others. Food and service is consistently great at all locations. My first visit to Wilmette spot was less than a week after it opened. One could expect some glitches but there were NONE. Like the others it's a well-oiled machine that hums right along. There's one difference worth noting. The potatoes were always kind of sub-par, but I noticed at Wilmette they were GREAT. I mentioned it to the server and was informed that they were testing a new way of frying them and they're SOOO much better. Hoping it transfers to the other locations. The house seasoning is no longer in a grinder & I prefer that it was. The syrup is now in a bottle with a clumsy cap & not warm. Would prefer the old delivery method. We've been 5 times in 2 weeks. Tierra was our server the first time & we've requested her on each subsequent visit. She's simply delightful and makes the dining experience that much more enjoyable read more

The menu is a bit bizarre. There are extra odd ingredients added to the breakfast items. Also prices are high. All beverages that aren't coffee recipes but just coffee or soda are all $4. Most items on the menu require you to add extra sides or ingredients to get what you want. I had banana French toast. It was beyond sweet. We tried Egg Habor one morning and we have now decided that this Wilmette location is our favorite restaurant. We have tried many dishes, and they have all been great, we have not ever been disappointed and we visit often. Joseph (Joey), the General Manager, and Jessie, the assistant manager, are exceptional.
