I'm so happy we decided to drive about 30 minutes to try Egg N' Joe today , it was absolutely worth the trip! The restaurant has such a nice atmosphere. It's very clean, cozy, and welcoming, which made our Sunday brunch feel even more relaxing and enjoyable. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and welcoming. She had such positive energy and made the whole experience even better with her warm service. My favorite dish was definitely the Dungeness Crab Benedict , it was perfect! The flavor was amazing, and everything was cooked just right. I truly think this is a must-try for anyone visiting here. Honestly, I loved everything we experienced today. Always plenty of food on your plate and always served with a smile! Great variety of food. One of my favorite breakfasts is the stuffed hash browns. It is really stuffed with egg, sausage, bacon. Served with always very fresh fruit. Eggs Benedict to suit all tastes, although the crab was a bit of a miss for me as heating it through the crab gets very dried up. Their hash browns are really crispy and hot. The potato pancakes are not quite what they are! Not made with mashed potatoes but squished up hash browns. Still lovely and crispy with a side of the best bacon in town. Chef serves your eggs exactly to order and the coffee is GREAT. THIS RESTAURANT DESERVES A VISIT! You will not be disappointed. When I dined at Elmer's Restaurant in Oregon, I immediately became obsessed with their German pancakes and Zenner's sausage. Thankfully, they have two Elmer's locations here in Arizona, where they're better known as Egg n' Joe. The menu is much smaller but many of their hits are included. Their coffee, which I believe is also out of Oregon, is crazy good! Service was friendly and the interior is clean, colorful and bright. I had the strawberry crepes with eggs and bacon. My friend had some kind of egg Benedict with avocado. She said hers was good. But all I can really comment on is my strawberry crepes. They were amazingly delicious. I asked for my bacon to be crispy. Whoever was cooking that day knew exactly what that meant. Because my bacon was just the right amount of tender and crisp. I asked for my eggs over medium and they were a bit overdone. But this isn't really a complaint. Eggs can be tricky and it only takes 2 seconds if you're doing something else for it to go wrong. I myself am not a huge egg person anyways so I'm not upset. The server was nice but I did feel like she could have asked us at least if we wanted refill or something on our drinks. She did come by and ask us if it was good, or something like that? Of course I said everything was fabulous. I really also like that I could literally walk here from my work. We had gone there for lunch and there wasn't very many people in there so we were able to get served, get our food, and get out within the hour lunch break, almost exactly. The Establishment was clean and everybody was friendly. Do I recommend? Absolutely! And I will definitely be going back to try different things on the menu. It was a very interesting menu. I do wish they had boysenberry syrup, though! Lol. That's a hard thing to find these days and it's my absolute favorite on pancakes. Considering it's like a breakfast joint it's pretty upscale so I was surprised they didn't have it. I don't want to beat this horse into the ground though.. overall? I absolutely loved the food. It was delicious. And I will absolutely go back. If you're not used to Scottsdale prices, the menu prices might seem a little steep, especially if your usual breakfast joints are places like Denny's. But I guarantee the food is going to taste 5 times better. The quality will be 10 times better. For my breakfast and a drink of diet Coke, I paid $23 and some change before tip. read more

4 stars - good We went here for brunch on Sunday. As you can imagine, it was very busy, but we did not have to wait too long even though we had a large party. The restaurant has a diner atmosphere and is decorated with its merchandise. Our waitress forgot a couple of things, but I cannot fault her for that. Again, it was very busy the day that we went, and she was very friendly. Our food was delicious. I got the cinnamon roll pancakes, and it came with a lot of food. WILL NOT EVER RETURN everything started out fine. Walked right in and host seated us outside. But it quickly went downhill after that. There was one overworked male server covering the whole patio on a Sunday. It took him over 20 minutes to get to us to ask for drinks. By that time we were ready to order our whole meal. The food took an additional 30 minutes to come out after we ordered no big deal there. Except for the fact that when it came out, it was completely underdone. To the point where my whole family is sick right now. Honestly we should have sent it back but for what? For them to spit in our food? My husband ordered a Pepsi - and we didn't realize this until he had drank it (because you couldn't see until the glass was clear) but there was a long black hair stuck to the inside of his glass. Gross!! Uploaded a pic of that. My daughter's bacon that came with her Kids meal was underdone. All of my fish and chips (which is notated as a signature item) were horrific. Underdone. And the tartar sauce for the worst I've ever tasted. Bottom line is I don't know how this place is still running. We will never come back. read more

From the minute we walked into the door my mom and I were treated with care and attention. All the employees are super sweet and kind and are willing to go above and beyond to give you the best experience. I know when I go with the family on vacation we are going to hit a few breakfast places. Mainly because it's one of my Kiddos favorites, doesn't really matter where as long as he gets eggs, sausage hash browns and pancakes he's in business. Everyone but he and I seemed to be getting the giant German pancake including my German wife and Father in law. The food was hot and delicious, I got the country breakfast because (I'm predictable AF!) I think biscuits and gravy are a staple and a great way to know if the place is any good. My food was great, kiddo ate all of his breakfast and my German family loved the pancake. The restaurant is a newish diner in a strip mall, really clean inside no food under the table and the restrooms were clean and well stocked. Service was fast and friendly. You can tell they were paying attention as soon as we finished eating they brought the check. FIL recommended this place so no surprise it was good. read more

This place did not live up to 4 stars and way over priced for the food/experience. I was so bummed. The food was just okay, definitely not worth the price though. Our friend cannot have gluten and specifically asked for no gravy, his omelette arrived with gravy on top. When he asked the server if that was his or it was a mix up she said no it was his. He explained he ordered it with no gravy and she had it replaced but apologize or seem to care. Another person asked for refill on coffee more than twice and no refill? We never got our drinks refilled either. For a $16 meal & $4 coffee, at the very least you can refill drinks. I've served breakfast before so I understand it can be overwhelming, but to me the restaurant appeared fully staffed AND other staff maybe a host or expo brought some of our drinks to begin with. Neat little spot in north Scottsdale. Great dining room and yes, they have a patio. The server was attentive to our group and prompt with requests, especially for our two little ones. The food was good, I had the ranch breakfast and added gravy to my biscuit. The ranch is two eggs, hash browns, choice of meat, and a biscuit. Diner style breakfast and pretty quick in a good way. It was clean but had hints of farm inspiration. We sat inside but they had a good size patio with misters. Also of our food came out around the same time which was very nice. I personally got the German pancake combo. The pancake had a slight crunch on the outer rim and then soft and cake in the middle. I got berries and I smoothed them in syrup and they were delightful! I have been here once before, and thought we'd give it another try. We were seated quickly, and our waitress got our drink order in a timely manner. When she returned, my coffee mug was filled with grounds, and my wife's latte had spilled over creating a sticky mess all over the outside of a cup. I asked for a new cup of coffee, and while she did this, it still had some grounds in it. It took a little bit to order, but not too long, and then we waited more than 35 minutes for our meal. My scrambled eggs were cool, not warm. And both sandwiches that my party ordered were smeared with avocado, and in fact some of the fruit also had avocado on it. The manager came to our table at one point where I asked him why our food is taking so long and he didn't even let me finish before he walked away from our table. My fiancé, his mom and I came to Egg n Joe after Pat's run. It was the perfect place on the way home and we wanted a hearty meal and boy did we get that. My fiancé's mom and I ordered the sun Devil skillet which had chorizo, eggs your way, avocado, beans and corn, and some hash browns. The bowl was huge and came with a delicious biscuit on the side. It ended up being two meals for both of us! My fiancé ordered the cinnamon roll pancakes and he loved his meal. Finished all the pancakes and said that he thought they were better than butters!! Solid breakfast. I got pancakes and there were quite a lot. I think at least a stack of 4. Very big. But just plain eggs and bacon with it as the only pancake combo. I'd prefer more combinations like hash browns and gravy and like two flapjacks. We don't need so many flapjacks. But they were good. More butter too would be good. read more

This is kind of like Denny's, as far as menu and ambiance. I like craft food and beverages, especially for breakfast, should have looked at the menu before stopping to eat. So after dropping off my daughter for school, I thought let's try a new place for breakfast. This place seemed cute and convenient as it was in the shopping complex with sprouts. Lots of parking. At first glance, I knew I was disappointed with the way the food looked. I HATE when my biscuit is burned, that coming out burned was a disappointment. The avocado was old and brown. I shifted that right on off the omelette. I honestly was surprised someone would send that out. The hash browns were not cooked all the way through. The highlight was the actual omelette once I took off the avocado. It tasted good. The coffee was very strong, which isn't my go too. Overall, I would not go back here. Seems like a lot of retirees go here, so I loved people watching the older couples there. That was the highlight :) Would highly suggest they improve the quality of the food before they send it out. Make sure the food matches the picture on the menu. Secondly, look at the produce, if the avocado is brown most people don't want to say that when they are paying for breakfast. Got the beer batter fish n chips with a side of coleslaw and tarter sauce, paid about 20 bucks for the order, and tbh this whole order was complete trash. I might as well eat from the dumpster if I knew it was going to be this bad. The fish had way to much batter and not enough fish, just tasted doughy, the fries were probably the best thing out of the whole order, but even those were okay, and you can just tell that they were made with old oil, the coleslaw and the tarter sauce were just to gross to finish and threw it away. That is pretty awesome and not something you see on a menu everyday. I ordered the farmers omlette and switched out the gravy for hollandaise. Overall so bland. Looked BEAUTIFUL and delicious but diving in it was pretty flavorless. I added alot of salt pepper and hot sauce but still fell a little flat. I substituted a salad for the normal sides (biscuit, pancake, hashbrown and fruit) Came with tomatoes, olives, croutons. The Ranch was very good but I'm bummed I couldn't finish it due to old soggy lettuce. Pieces were brown and looked a bit old. Something they have no lack of, and deserved 5 stars for, is their service. Great service, super friendly servers! They had no problem doing any substitutions for me. I wish there could be a rating for food and separate for service since the bland food is what gave Egg N Joe 3 stars. I will give this place another try since it's quaint, very affordable ($37 for 2 people) and has a great outdoor patio. Plenty of parking and have options for everyone. They don't take reservations, but a normal Sunday 11am brunch, you'll wait around 10-20mins. My fiancé and I stopped in Scottsdale overnight before heading up North, and we are so glad we found Egg N'Joe because they are absolutely delicious! My fiancé got the Hungry breakfast and it was a great portion with such fresh flavors, and I got the veggie and egg white bowl, which was an excellent vegetarian option. I got fruit instead of biscuit and so glad I did because the bananas, and pineapple were fresh and sweet. We sat outside and if was nice and low key and the sun felt nice on a sunny January morning. The service was outstanding and everyone is so welcoming as well and very attentive. I highly recommend this place for breakfast as it as a lot of variety and isint just your average breakfast spot. Disappointing service My children who ordered from the kids menu got charged for a large drink. Specifically on the kids menu it says it comes with a free small drink. The server decided my daughter (11) was older and gave her a large drink and charged $4 for a drink that was supposed to be included. I was surprised that Egg N' Joe looks and feels like a plain, sparsely decorated, diner. I was also surprised when I asked for a bloody Mary and was firmly told no, considering that there is an Arizona Liquor License on the wall by the front door. When I asked if I could get the California omelet with crab instead of chicken (because I wanted the cheese blend that comes in the California omelet instead of swiss), I was firmly told no. That said, the crab omelet with swiss was still delicious, and my wife's German pancake was also really good. Finally, while we were only there for perhaps an hour, with an hour or so to go before close, and no wait for tables, our server dropped the bill off while we were still eating, and then hovered annoyingly until I put my credit card down. It was almost as if they've had people dine & dash, or were worried my wife and I would. Two no's and a hover, that's 3 stars from me. read more
