While this dish is typically supposed to be made with pork belly, chef Ricky substitutes it with pork shoulder for a more familiar taste/texture to our Midwestern community. I'm not mad honestly. The meat was so tender and pulls apart easily to eat with the rice which means it was braised long enough. I only ate half of the serving as it feels like a generous serving. I enjoyed that it was paired with slides tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and pickles veggies. The only thing missing was the nước chấm dipping sauce. Dumping everything into the bowl is a valid personal choice, but it is not the way of the Jedi. I rarely rate restaurant this highly, but this place is being talked about and I decided to pop in. The place was quite busy, but we get through the line quickly. You order and pay first, then seat yourself. They assign a number to you and deliver the food. It came out piping hot. We ordered off the lunch menu. The lunch special includes your entree with your choice of soup, choice of 2 crab ragoons or eggroll, fried rice and a fortune cookie. Price is right. A friendly girl does come around to re-fill beverages and check on you, but there is no ordering from your table. Nevertheless, the food is wonderful. It is basically a Viatnamese restaurant, and that is what you should order. They also have Chinese and Thai dishes, also tasty, but look around. People order these huge white ceramic bowls of Pho, pronounced Pho, which is a noodle soup with a good stuff in it. And theybhave such wonderful other things like theae clear wrap pork and shrimp spring rolls. You wouldn't expect to find hipster all over a restaurant in this busy suburban part of town, but word gets around. People flood jn for lunch. So far they manage to seat everybody, and seatjng is tight, but people are rushing back to work, so there's a turnover. We loved everything we ate, and I'm going back again today tk try some new dishes. It's not white tablechloth. But the building is new, the decor is actually pretty and modern, the tables and chairs are nice light wood and there are hugebpkate glass windows so it's bright. What can I say about Egg Roll #1 that hasn't already been said? The staff is awesome, the restaurant is always clean, the prices are budget friendly and the food just brings about a reminiscent comfortable feeling that you get when eating something delicious. I have driven by this location so many times, never assuming the wondrous food that was being served inside. Definitely kicking myself for missing out on years of this stuff. I started working in Beech Grove last year, and only started eating here once I heard great things from my colleagues. I usually get a lunch combo for around 5.50 which includes a 1/2 order of a meal, along with egg drop soup and your choice of an egg roll or 3 crab Rangoon! They have an awesome online menu if you're like me and want to check it out prior to ordering . My favorite meal is the Beef Lo Mein, but when I'm trying to eat a bit healthier, I tend to get the Beef Pho soup. It's a bit lighter of a meal, but the soup is outstanding and very Instagrammable (if that's your thing)! Whenever it's raining out or the weather is nasty, I get this intense craving to go to Egg Roll #1 and just bask in the comfortability of this restaurant and the delicious soups and foods! If authenticity is a must for you, this is the place to go. Egg Roll #1 is easily one of the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Every time I come here, I'm impressed all over again. The food is consistently fresh, flavorful, and served in portions big enough that you almost always leave with leftovers. We were looking for a place to eat while our car was having an oil change at the Goodyear next door. We discovered a busy restaurant with an enormous menu including Vietnamese, Thai, and Chinese food, Diners order at the counter and then the food is brought to the table. While we were waiting we wanted to try all of the great looking dinners the people around us were eating! I had a #10 off the Vietnamese menu that included stir-fried pork, soft rice noodles, and pieces of crispy spring roll. My daughter had a chicken lo mien dish with crab Rangoon as an appetizer. Absolutely the BEST Chinese food that I have ever had! I have been going to Egg Roll #1 for the last 20+ years and have never been disappointed. I have tried several other local Chinese restaurants and they always disappoint me compared to Egg Roll #1. I actually won't even eat Chinese anymore unless it's at Egg Roll. I love that they expanded their location. The owners are very nice and I watched their daughter grow from a very small child to now helping at the restaurant sometimes. This is one of my favorite go to places .. they have Vietnamese,chinese and and ti food as well.. if you go here you have to try the Vietnamese egg rolls. Omg the sauce is too die for and they come with fresh basil leaves romaine lettuce and cucumbers. You rap the egg roll up and then dip in the sauce. If you plan to go over lunch go early or later to miss the lunch crowd or you will struggle to find a seat. The crispy egg noodles with pork, shrimp, and chicken had perfect texture and great flavors. It tastes terrific and made my night. Pho Saigon is an excellent Thai restaurant and would highly recommend everyone come check it out because it is excellent food at the right price. You will like it!

The service Hong Kong offers are food delivery options, carryout, or you can dine in the restaurant. It took about 20 to 30 minutes for me to receive my six fresh hot chicken wings. The chicken wings were an actual big size, not too meaty to me, just right. The restaurant does have restrooms that are only for customers.
