We decided to come here because I was impressed with their cute animated and humanized decorations of eggettes driving a car, doing a peace sign, etc. outside their doors. My friend and I shared their original eggettes, which they made in front of us and was similar to makjng a waffle. They also had chocolate and honeydew flavors which I wouldn't mind trying next time. I always come here when I'm craving a good strawberry drink with boba. After years of going to various boba places and trying all their drinks, I personally feel like eggettes isn't the best place to get milk tea. It's a great place to get eggettes, freezes, and all other asian munchies but from my own experience I just never loved their milk tea and boba (Of course this is just my own taste, I want to say their milk tea drinks are probably on the same quality level as Quickly and around the same price, if not slightly cheaper). It's pretty nice to come here because it's usually never crowded, so I get my drinks almost instantly, and parking is super easy. There is parallel street parking right on El Camino and if that doesn't work out for you they have a private parking lot right next to the shopping center. Back to the food, their blended drinks on the other hand never disappoint and they perfectly compliment the eggettes. This specific location has 3 different flavors for eggettes (original, chocolate, and one other..that I can't remember because I never get it, but a third does exist). My favorite drink to get here is the strawberry freeze with boba. It's $3.25 for a blended drink! You really can't complain about the price because that's really reasonable for a freeze. If you're bored and willing to spend money, eggettes always has some sort of claw game stocked with the cutest toys. This last trip I went I got really lucky and got a cheshire cat tsum tsum in one try; other days haven't been so lucky, so make sure if you go, you bring a friend who will stop you from wasting all your cash after failing to win once or twice! I have witnessed people spend twenties on these machines. Don't be that person if you're going to regret it! Eggettes is one of the best milk tea shops ever! I tend to go for the the Jasmine Green Milk Tea Freeze with boba because it's so delicious. I think they make the best jasmine green milk tea because it's a perfect balance of tea, milk, and sweetness and everything is blended so well. So convenient that this place is on El Camino and it's so easy to get to (street parking and lots of parking in front of 7/11). If you grew up around this area, you'll know that this establishment is a childhood staple. I haven't been to this location in years so I can't vouch for whether the quality has changed. I think it's safe to say that this spot is a great place to come for cheap snacks and boba drinks! I'm not a boba aficionado nor am I super picky about my teas and the boba itself so this was just right for me. I ordered the original Eggettes ($4) and a regular 16 oz Passionfruit tea with boba ($2.25 + $0.50 for boba). The Eggettes itself was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. It got cold quick so be sure to pop it in the oven or microwave if you're taking it home. As for the tea, it was pretty sweet so I had to dilute it with a lot of water. This was a win for me because I got a drink and a half just by doing this. Please be patient as there are sometimes only 2 people working at a time. Eggettes is a pretty decent boba shop in the Bay Area. This particular location still serves consistently good boba along with their eggette waffles. With this particular location, I would say the least appealing thing is the building itself. The walls could use a better paint job and the floors still look like construction concrete, but at least the area is spacious enough to fit a few tables and play board games. The parking around this area isn't bad and away from busier sections of the Bay Area. With so many choices of boba, there's always something interesting to choose from. Finally I have found a place that can do fresh taro milk tea with no sugar. The taro was fresh and tasty, perfect with the milk and boba. This is in a small building complex on the side of the street. Not much for ambiance but wide selection of menu items. They also have 3 flavors of eggettes. Echoing Francis' comments, the eggette's from my childhood are more crispy and light, with just enough batter to coat. These were chewier and more waffle like. I love the honeydew flavor but you can never go wrong with the original flavor. I also ordered a hot honey green tea. It was perfect during the cold weather. Egg flavor is still a bit lacking, but shape and form and general look & feel ain't bad at all (either that or I've come to lower my $tandard$). I've always had eggettes at the Noriega location and sometimes at the glen park location but i never knew there was one in SSF! Inside it's decently sized but isn't as nicely decorated as the other locations i've been to. But their imitation shark fin soup is phenomenal! in fact, it's probably the best i've ever had in my life! This place has always been the best place for teenagers and young adults to loiter in South San Francisco. No, I'm serious. They have computers with AIM and internet access, tons of open space, and large purikura machines with all of these cool functions and backdrops for not too expensive of a price if you split it with your pictureboo or group of friends. First Timer here!!! Okay so: I got the Slim Milk Tea as I like mine less sweet than most places. I don't know why people are complaining about the Boba, because it's really not bad so maybe it varies on the freshness or something? My wife got the Soy Milk Tea - which was actually less sweet than mine (weird...) They have a LOT of different drinks here (with tofu/fresh taro etc.) which was nice. But .... The Eggetts were good, I tired the original. Crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Wish I had some maple syrup to dip them - maybe they have a sauce but I was too shy to ask. Lol The decor could use a little sprucing up -- it looks a little out dated and the walls are pretty bare except the TV that plays what seems to be the hip hop of Asia with provocative Asian women and a magazine rack underneath & the menus are pretty much laminated paper with no real good description (yes I understand for most people it's pretty self explanatory but a nice description is always nice for people that have never tried it) I'm not totally in love but I'm definitely not mad at it either. They've since opened a couple other locations around SF/the peninsula but I always come to this one. The owner usually is at this location and is really friendly. They also have free Internet for all customers. For their namesake, they have the best Eggettes anywhere. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside; just how it should be. Really good boba and eggettes. I think the original eggette is the best; the upcharge for the flavored one isn't worth it. Their teas/milk teas actually taste like tea, and you can taste the jasmine in the jasmine green teas. Boba consistency has always been perfect with just a hint of sweetness. I also like that the iced drinks have crushed ice in them instead of large cubes. Personal preference: I like to get the teas half-sweet, which is plenty sweet enough for me with half the diabeetus! I like getting this with green tea instead of black tea for less caffeine. * Mango milk tea: also bits of mango! Still working my way through the flavor list. Cons: popcorn chicken isn't that great. They have a special popcorn chicken machine that is neat in theory, but it means you don't get that great made-from-scratch spicy popcorn chicken with bits of fried basil at some other joints. I ordered the mango freeze which was advertised as made with fresh fruit and it came out with a bleachy cleaning agent taste. The cycle is complete; I've visited all three Eggettes locations. Eggettes SSF looks like the oldest location. It could use a renovation. Some of the menu is hard to read and I think they have fewer drink varieties here. The Diamond St. location has the largest food menu of the three locations. The food menu here is pretty limited: fish balls, shu mai, rice rolls, shark's fin soup, and a dessert soup. I ordered the plain eggettes (Hong Kong style waffles). Eggettes masters the texture of these puffs but these seemed to have less flavor than the ones I had at the other Eggettes locations. I do love how the puffs are crispy in parts, soft in the middle. The crunch is quite satisfying. I had a tapioca drink too and they know how to cook those tapioca balls. I liked my red bean milk drink (it was put through the blender) at first but later on it seemed chalky and powdery. They also have those toy machines and three internet terminals. Not to insult people who live around here but there isn't much in this area. Seems like a strange place for an Asian dessert cafe. And it's cash only. I even researched online on where to buy those pans for making at home.... (Hong Kong Ebay as it turns out). But I 'm not sure this eggette thing is going to take off. After my first sip, I got so angry at myself for not giving Eggettes another try 2 years ago because this drink was delicious! The milk tea itself was not overly sweet and I love the real taro bits at the bottom. I also ordered a chocolate egg puff and it came out fresh, hot, and sweet. It's an awesome snack if you're not looking to break the bank and need something on-the-go.
