Ordered my egg sandwich and had to wait about 20+ mins even through there wasn't a lot of people there at the time. After 10 mins, I saw lots of people that came after me that got their orders BEFORE I got mine. The cashier did not acknowledge to me about the long wait or anything and I had to ask around and there was a lady making drinks that asked me about it. The guy also put my order in a to-go bag even though it CLEARLY says 'for here'. I don't know if I'm to blame for even coming here and spending my own money to enjoy a good lunch but I don't feel like I should come back here. It would be helpful for better communication to walk-in customers on how long orders will come out. Really could've asked for a refund back since I waited a long time for ONE sandwich, much prefer to go to a mom&pop Mexican spot where they make orders under 10 mins. An egg sandwich should not cost almost $12 and you're forcing customers to wait "more than 20 minutes if not acknowledged that it's going to take longer due to large DoorDash orders", which can EASILY be communicated. read more

Really enjoyed the strawberry matcha drink we had. It disappeared way too fast! If possible, I would ask for less ice or a bigger size next time. It was like 80% ice. It was my first time having a strawberry matcha drink so I didn't have much to compare to but I thought it was super good! Tried a little of the pink dream with almond milk. Also great. Reminded me of a strawberry agua fresca. We really liked the Ultimate Sando, too. But it took too long for us to receive. It was about 25 mins and our drinks were long gone by the time we got it. Great spot for a quick breakfast. Prices were kinda high, but it's the Bay Area. 22 bucks for an egg sandwich with a coffee including a 2 dollar tip. Clean spot but table and chairs wobbled at the spot I was at. Sidewalk dining available as well as takeout service. Recommend ordering ahead as they had some lines of people waiting to get service. My bf and I stopped by after a workout and we were excited to try this place. Sadly, we were pretty disappointed. We both ordered the eggy which was the most simple sandwich on the menu. The bread was soft and the eggs were very light and fluffy. The sandwich was lacking in flavor and didn't really taste like much. I wish there were more flavors and texture to the sandwich. TL;DR : Ordered online through their website and waited 40+ min because my order was forgotten. My 4 item order had 2 mistakes too. Food was good but overall experience was ridiculously bad. SERVICE (1/5) : One of the worst experiences I've had in a long while. I was coming out of the nearby children's discovery museum thinking I would order something quick to grab and eat at home to make it back for kids nap time. I thought I was smart ordering online while I was still in the museum thinking it would be ready by the time I got there. Wrong and bad idea. I got there about 20min later and thought my food should be ready soon. I saw a long line since it was lunch peak so I asked worker #1 in the front by the cashier where I could get my order and she said it would be put on the shelf. I waited 10min then asked worker #2 if my order would be coming out soon since I saw them calling out a ton of orders. Worker #2 asked for my name and said he would look for my order. 5 more minutes pass and I realized something was wrong since people who were in line when I came were getting their orders already! The place had pretty much emptied out since it was after 1PM. I asked worker #3 and he asked for my name again and at this point is when I realized my order was ignored for 35min because I saw him print out an order with my name on it to give to the kitchen. Ridiculous! After my order was actually placed it came out in 5min. I'm already unhappy as it's taken 40min for my order to be ready but my drink was still missing! I asked and a few more min later it came and I left. Apparently it was my mistake to trust them because I should have checked the order. Of the four items I had, two had mistakes. One sandwich asked for sauce on the side but instead I got no sauce. My drink listed crystal boba which I paid extra for but it was missing. Horrible horrible horrible! Even if the food is good this amount of mess up isn't excusable. FOOD (4/5) : Food tasted good especially The Chic ($11). The fried chicken was flavored well and was very crispy but unfortunately since mine was missing the sauce the sandwich was dry and not as flavorful as I guess it should have been. The Eggy ($10) was pretty delicious too with mashed potato in a jar topped with a poached egg, bacon, and chives. I dipped the baguette in and it was perfect for picking up all the gooey goodness. Breakfast burger ($11) was okay and I definitely preferred The Chic. Lastly the strawberry matcha latte ($4.50) was a great rich drink though I prefer boba guy's version a bit more. read more

So glad we stopped here on our way out of town. The place is small and waa busy but we were okay with that. We ordered the ultimate Sando and it did not disappoint. It tasted great and the bun held up and wasn't soggy. Avocado was bright and fresh. I also got the sunburst and it was refreshing and just what I needed. The only feedback I have is the guy behind the counter seemed a little lost/tired/out of it? The communication from the kitchen to him was all over the place and our name was never called and we had to go up and ask if it was our order sitting on the counter. Could have just been an off day? This afternoon I decided to try Egghead for the first time and I won't be returning. I showed up at 2:30 pm knowing they close at 4pm so didn't feel the need to rush the experience. I asked if I could pay with cash and they had said they already had closed the register. If you aren't familiar with the menu you have to order on the ipad to read all the options and it makes ordering a long process, plus having to wait for the people infront of you to do the same thing. Ordered a $7 vietnamese coffee expecting sweetened condensed milk, because thats how you make a viet coffee... It was very bitter and I asked for more sweetened condensed milk and they said they only have milk and sugar, so we were charged $7 for a plain very bitter coffee. It shouldn't be advertised as one if it isn't?! The music was very loud abrasive dubstep EDM, not very nice for a Sunday brunch experience. On top of that the couple behind us weren't served what they ordered and went to double check on the ipad what they ordered, they had a photo that didn't match what they were served. Lastly, at about 3:15 they started mopping with bleach water and it was hard to finish the meal with the smell of bleach in the restaurant. There was still 7 people in the place and they were straight mopping, without sweeping and without a caution sign until almost done. I order from here occasionally and this has never happened before so I'm assuming it's a one off. Other than this the food here is usually very nice and one of my go to spots to order breakfast. Not going to lie, on the weekends, my husband and I door dash a lot. So, I haven't actually been to Egghead Sando Cafe but I have ordered their food plenty of times. I always get the eggy, egghead salad, and a drink. My husband always try different sandwich's from here and all of them have been so good. One weekend, my niece and her boyfriend came from Sacramento to visit and we ordered some sandwiches for them before they left. I had a Chic Sandwich with a side of tater tots! I throughly enjoyed the Honey Matcha, and it was the highlight of the meal. The Tater tots came in second: light and delectable. The Chic Sandwich had most of my excitement when ordering, however, I'm afraid it didn't deliver all the way. The bun and condiments carried the sandwich way too much; if the chicken cutlet had been more seasoned we would have a winner! Middle of the road experience. Came about an hour after they opened and ordered the Chic. Wait times that other Yelpers mentioned was definitely true. We waited close to 20 minutes for one sandwich. A family before us said they waited closed to 30. Apparently a big order came in. You could tell because they had sandwiches lined up all over the front counter where people were ordering. By the time we left, there were about four annoyed Doordashers waiting, plus other patrons all kind of looking at each other trying to figure out what was going on since the guy at the front was overwhelmed. The plus was the sandwich was tasty. Chicken flavorful, bread fluffy. The bad. It was cold by the time we got it and walked across the street to eat it outside. My review is solely based on DoorDash experience and with the bias that breakfast is my favorite meal. The brioche bread is soft, spicy Mayo adds a unique level of flavor, I like my eggs over easy and the yolk always has a nice runny texture. Nomsssss Rating from most favorite: 1) breakfast burger: all the flavors just hit right. Runny yolk on a burger is unbeatable. 2) ultimate sando: the thickest of them all lol. While I love all the ingredients separately or variations of the ingredients together, the avocado with sausage was not my favorite. Overall a very filling sandwich. 3) the chic: chicken thigh with 5 spice seasoning so it's juicy and reminded me of an oversized popcorn chicken. I love me some popcorn chicken. This chic is also thicc I split half with a co-worker and that was filling enough. 4) B.E.C: bacon was too salty and pretty basic sandwich overall, I which they did something special with the bacon to make it stand out. I have yet to try any other drink because the strawberry hojicha latte has me in a chokehold, I always order with less sugar. Hope they have more creative sides other than fried potatoes. I ordered the match latte and it was very powdery and bitter. Like there was more powder than needed. The food was wet and they charged me for avocado but there was no avocado in my sandwich. Best breakfast when you don't have time to sit down at a restaurant and it's a nice spot to eat on the weekends when you are in chill mode. I wish I could have tried all of the breakfast sandwiches but I chose the ultimate sando for my first try. With the tater tots, it was a lot of food for one person. You could probably share with someone else if you are not that hungry which indicates the good size of the breakfast sandwich and the amount of tater tots they give you. Is this place new? I wouldn't want to come back again to this location (might try another location) Coffee is $5. When I asked to get milk with it, the cashier looked at me ask if I was speaking a foreign language. Asked if I wanted a latte? No, I want a coffee with milk! Then charged another $0.50 for the milk. But it's sweetened??? No one told me that. So it ended up in the trash can. I was annoyed at that point. I really think if you are charging me a house coffee with milk for $5.50, you should at least tell me it's sweetened and if that's what I wanted. When I picked up my bacon sandwich, my fingers were covered with yolk! The egg had already exploded and leaked out of the wrapper and all over the box. Overall, a pretty solid place to go to! It's not too expensive and the chic sandwich tasted really great! The chicken had a nice crispy texture and the sauce and seasoning added to its flavor.
