A very special shout out to Tom our server. He individually made, upon bringing the food over to the table, the Mushu Pork rolls, without any sauce dripping from the bottom!! This is my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. I regularly stop by for a to-go lunch order during the week. I've had multiple items on the menu and everything has been delicious. Not only that, the portions are very generous. I'm usually able to make two meals out of what I get. Service is always so friendly too. Embarrassing, yet cleansing and cathartic. We got: Veggie egg rolls and cream cheese wontons. Mu Shu Pork. Kung Pao Chicken. Honey walnut shrimp. Egg Fried Rice. Chicken Chow Mein. They start you off with a plate of fried noodles...think Chinese chips and salsa. Shoyu at table, sweet and sour sauce provided, hot mustard upon request, the ubiquitous Sriracha also on table. Yeah, we weren't shy. All of it was tasty. We bagged about half of it to go. Large portions. Small place with just about half dozen tables. Very bustling take out scene. I can't help it. Egg Roll King is just one of our favorites. We must do it as often as possible and I really don't have to do a review each time. I know it is always a foodie experience when we go. But today was special and the craving was overwhelming.... thus we entered and were immediately recognized by mr Tom. He insisted we sit comfortably by the large aquarium. The lovely missus has her favorite sweet and sour dish with Chicken and my roving eyes stopped at the Chicken Chop Suey dinner. We also wanted a to-go order of Bean Curd and Vegetables for the grand daughter. I need to write that the sweet and sour chicken was fantastic. A thick sauce that is second to none and battered chicken pieces that filled the plate with carrots and pineapple. She enjoyed this and it was enough to have the leftover put into a container. I enjoyed the fresh broccoli and Bean Sprouts and the tender chicken in a stir-fried fashioned soya sauce. Put that on top of white fluffy rice and you've got a great tasting dish. Egg Roll King is so cute. It is not huge. Parking is easy. The prices are great. You can get egg rolls for as little as 3$ for 2 chicken ones. Yummy. We try to dine there, but we also deliver when we are in a hotel nearby or we do take away. All are great. The food comes fresh, hot and as ordered. The service is very nice and they are good with kids. You will like them. We just love their egg rolls and get them all whenever we are there, we just take the rest with us. They are great the next day. They have, Vegetable Egg Rolls (2) Chicken Egg Rolls, Pork Fried Wontons, Cream Cheese Wantons (not for me usually) and Fried Dumplings egg rolls. All are great. They also have wonderful fried rice and have a good selection. We love all their food. Their Kung Pu Shrimp is great. All of the main courses are very good. A Small Hot & Sour Soup was excellent, with the caps of Button Mushroom bobbing on top, tofu, egg, and broth that had the perfect blend of sweet and sour notes. Fried Pork Dumplings were small but nicely constructed and very good in taste dipped in Plum Sauce, Sweet & Sour Sauce, and Hot Chili Oil. While others at my table split a Large Won Ton Soup and enjoyed extensive Mu Chu Chicken Wraps and House Special Chicken with Broccoli, Diane addressed her well-constructed and sweet Honey Walnut Shrimp, and I concentrated my attention on Shrimp in Lobster Sauce and Kung Pao Three Flavors (Beef, Chicken and Shrimp). Specifically, both appetizers (egg roll and wonton) had been deep fried within an inch of their lives...should have been golden brown, but they were deeply brown and dried out. It's almost 8p and my go-to for Chinese was already closed. I frequent Yelp so naturally I searched for the best reviewed local Chinese food and decided to give Egg Roll King a shot. The reviews and pictures looked too good not to. I tried to call in an order, but no one answered the phone on my multiple dials. My bestie and I decided to take a drive to order in person. Egg Roll King is in the Stater Bros shopping center & to the right of Golden Spoon. There is plenty of parking for such a small establishment. Just a few tables inside and loved the nice saltwater tank by the register. A nice gentleman took our order and was appreciative when I left a tip on the receipt. It was a 20 minute wait for takeout which was great! We get home and start mowing down the Orange Chicken, House Special Chow Mein, Honey Walnut Shrimp and 2 egg rolls. Right away, I knew it wasn't a meal I could enjoy. The orange chicken had the flavor, but the meat was indescribable. It was like eating cardboard. The shrimp wasn't edible either. And finally, the egg roll. It had a crispy outer shell which was great, but the inside was all soggy & gooey. I'm not usually one to throw food out bc I hate being wasteful. I couldn't do it. Not to mention the runs immediately afterwards. Yelpers, I'm so sorry but you've definitely got this one wrong. I can confidently say this was my first let down from you. Here's what we had: House Beef-nice and tender, great sweet soy sauce flavor, comes with broccoli. Kung Pao 3 meat- Probably some of the most flavorful kung pao I've had. I would order this again even though kung pao isn't normally my favorite. Honey Walnut shrimp- A little too much breading for me, but still pretty dang good. Shrimp chow mein-Great flavor to the noodles and tons of shrimp. It's like $1.25 to add shrimp to the chow mein and they add 8 or 9 large shrimp. You could make this a meal for less than a McDonalds combo. Cream Cheese wontons-These were pretty darn good too, priced very fairly as well. Owner is friendly and attentive enough. If you came in with a party of 15-20 you'd probably need to take over the entire restaurant but that being said, their online orders were consistent so you knew it was going to be good. We tried the house special chicken, orange peel chicken, chicken fried rice, curry chicken, fried dumplings and of course had to try some egg rolls. I'll be honest, the egg rolls weren't anything to write home about but everything else was beyond delicious. I loved the way the chicken was finely cut up, and the portions were massive. I was in the area on Sunday and searched for a good Chinese restaurant on Yelp. Egg roll king had many very good reviews, so I thought my friend and I would give it a try. David was our server and was very attentive although they were very busy with takeout orders. I had the chicken with mixed vegetables and I asked for extra broccoli instead of rice. My food was very good and perfectly prepared with fresh vegetables that were not overcooked. Since we ordered the lunch specials, it also came with an egg roll and fried wonton. My friend ordered the sweet and sour pork with brown rice and he loved his meal too. We also ordered a small wonton soup which was plenty for two people. The soup was amazing (and quite pricey so I'm glad it was worth it)! I had been craving honey walnut shrimp and this was the most reviewed on yelp so I was excited...but something was off. This place is going to be our GO TO for Chinese! We came here on a Thursday night around 6 pm, and it wasn't too busy. We were able to get a table for 5 right away. The inside is very small so the restaurant can't hold a huge party of over 8 people. We were lucky to get a spot. There was an older gentleman serving all the tables, and he took our order after a few minutes. We got the orange peel beef, honey walnut shrimp, house chowmein with beef, chicken, and shrimp, and the server suggested we get the house chicken. It also came with white rice on the side. They brought out crispy noodles as an appetizer with sweet sauce. Our food arrived and everything was delicious! The chowmein was super tasty, loved all the meat, and the house chicken was BOMB.COM! The food here is really quite solid. Small place, I was told 95%+ of their orders are to-go. I ordered eggrolls (of course!), egg fried rice, walnut shrimp, and the chicken special. The fried rice is ok, not amazing but good enough. The rest of the food though, really quite good. The eggroll was a vege one and it's really tasty. You can really tell that they're hand made and not left frozen for weeks. The Chinese man that serves you is sooo friendly. Some of my dishes come with steamed rice and he offered but I said the fried rice was good enough. I only ate half of my servings and brought the rest home.
