We were there for dinner and the lovely missus has her favorite Sweet and Sour Chicken with a bowl of steamed white rice. We started with a super blending of the Hot and Sour Soup. Our young server ladles the soup for us. My hunger for a good meal full of vegies got me the Buddha's Feast and Pork Fried Rice. We marveled at the big fish tank and the wall decor. This place does NOT miss! Was in the area and about to head home to the other side of HB and was like "Wait! I'm right here! I hafta stop by!" I got there a little before 4pm on Sunday and they were closed. I didn't see the sign that said they open at 4. I got in and placed my order (Orange Chicken, House Special Chicken, House Special Fried Rice, Cream Cheese Wontons) and had everything in about 20 minutes. Within minutes of opening there were already multiple parties being seated so if you're going to dine in get there early. Still wish they had a location closer to me. They start you off with a plate of fried noodles...think Chinese chips and salsa. Shoyu at table, sweet and sour sauce provided, hot mustard upon request, the ubiquitous Sriracha also on table. Yeah, we weren't shy. All of it was tasty. We bagged about half of it to go. Large portions. Small place with just about half dozen tables. Very bustling take out scene. Egg Roll King is so cute. It is not huge. Parking is easy. The prices are great. You can get egg rolls for as little as 3$ for 2 chicken ones. Yummy. We try to dine there, but we also deliver when we are in a hotel nearby or we do take away. All are great. The food comes fresh, hot and as ordered. The service is very nice and they are good with kids. You will like them. We just love their egg rolls and get them all whenever we are there, we just take the rest with us. They are great the next day. They have, Vegetable Egg Rolls (2) Chicken Egg Rolls, Pork Fried Wontons, Cream Cheese Wantons (not for me usually) and Fried Dumplings egg rolls. All are great. Ordered takeout for my household, grabbed an order of vegetable chow mein, egg fried rice, a cup of egg flower soup, an order of the house chicken, an order of the Mongolian beef, an order of vegetable egg rolls, and an order of cream cheese wontons. It took about half an hour for all the food to be ready, but once I got it I could tell it was super fresh. Everything was piping hot, and the serving size was generous- for the egg flower soup, I ordered it as a 'cup' and not a bowl, but it still came out to 4 servings!! While others at my table split a Large Won Ton Soup and enjoyed extensive Mu Chu Chicken Wraps and House Special Chicken with Broccoli, Diane addressed her well-constructed and sweet Honey Walnut Shrimp, and I concentrated my attention on Shrimp in Lobster Sauce and Kung Pao Three Flavors (Beef, Chicken and Shrimp). The phone customer service here was so friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the egg rolls hands down as an egg roll critic had to be the worst I have ever had. They were hard to eat. Very soggy from the inside, definitely frozen. The insides were not my personal favorite at all! They did have a nice crisp but that was all. Egg Roll King is in the Stater Bros shopping center & to the right of Golden Spoon. There is plenty of parking for such a small establishment. Just a few tables inside and loved the nice saltwater tank by the register. A nice gentleman took our order and was appreciative when I left a tip on the receipt. It was a 20 minute wait for takeout which was great! We get home and start mowing down the Orange Chicken, House Special Chow Mein, Honey Walnut Shrimp and 2 egg rolls. Right away, I knew it wasn't a meal I could enjoy. The orange chicken had the flavor, but the meat was indescribable. It was like eating cardboard. The shrimp wasn't edible either. And finally, the egg roll. It had a crispy outer shell which was great, but the inside was all soggy & gooey. I'm not usually one to throw food out bc I hate being wasteful. I couldn't do it. Not to mention the runs immediately afterwards. Yelpers, I'm so sorry but you've definitely got this one wrong. I can confidently say this was my first let down from you. We were in town for a tournament and looking for Chinese food and decided to try to have lunch at Eggroll King. When we arrived, we told the gentleman that we would like a table for 13 (6 adults, 7 kids). He immediately made it seem that we were an inconvenience to him and started going off about how small the restaurant is and anytime there is more than 6 people in a group we should have to call the restaurant in advance. HOW would we have known this was a "rule"? There was no attempt to even try to accommodate us other than try to make us feel guilty. It was inappropriate for him to speak to us like that while there were other patrons in the dining area. We turned around and left the establishment because of how we were treated, you don't deserve our business. Shame on you if this is how you treat customers. read more

So I'm giving this place 5 stars not because it's the most authentic or cutting edge Chinese restaurant, but because it's just tasty as heck and actually reasonably priced. Two people can get out of here for $30 ordering one protein dish and one side dish like chow mein. This place has heavier, sweet sauces. It's definitely not "healthy", but it tastes really good. Here's what we had: House Beef-nice and tender, great sweet soy sauce flavor, comes with broccoli. Kung Pao 3 meat- Probably some of the most flavorful kung pao I've had. I would order this again even though kung pao isn't normally my favorite. Honey Walnut shrimp- A little too much breading for me, but still pretty dang good. Shrimp chow mein-Great flavor to the noodles and tons of shrimp. It's like $1.25 to add shrimp to the chow mein and they add 8 or 9 large shrimp. You could make this a meal for less than a McDonalds combo. Cream Cheese wontons-These were pretty darn good too, priced very fairly as well. Owner is friendly and attentive enough. Any time I went to Stater Bros or Target or anywhere in the vicinity, I'd always wonder so one rainy night when my family was scrambling for dinner ideas, I suggested this place and I'm so happy I did. Let me start off by saying, it's a rather small place. If you came in with a party of 15-20 you'd probably need to take over the entire restaurant but that being said, their online orders were consistent so you knew it was going to be good. There were 4 of us in our party and boy did we over order but who doesn't love leftover Chinese food. We tried the house special chicken, orange peel chicken, chicken fried rice, curry chicken, fried dumplings and of course had to try some egg rolls. I'll be honest, the egg rolls weren't anything to write home about but everything else was beyond delicious. I loved the way the chicken was finely cut up, and the portions were massive. The flavors were spot on (hats off to the chef) and the customer service was excellent. My family and I enjoyed our time here and we look forward to the day we come back. read more

Egg Roll King did not disappoint. The food was incredible, and as a family of six, we were thrilled with how affordable everything was. The other server that delivered our dishes was kind. Food: The portions are shareable! Each dish on their menu is large! 1) Kung Pao Chicken - My partner ordered this, and we shared it. This dish came with a choice of white or brown rice. He chose brown rice. We enjoyed this dish! We adjusted it to make it a bit more spicy. The chicken was cooked well and coated with a good amount of kung pao sauce. It wasn't too salty. The vegetables made it even more tastier. 2) Honey Walnut Shrimp - I ordered this dish, and of course we both shared it. This also came with a choice of white or brown rice. I chose brown rice. The shrimp was pretty big, cooked well, and coated evenly. I looove the sauce! It was creamy, not too sweet, and had a strong lemon taste. Pricing: I'd say it's definitely worth its price.
