Back for spare ribs that were substantial! Tomato beef chow mein with Hong Kong style noodles, shumai, corn soup. All yummy. The lady helping us was covering the entire restaurant efficiently. Old school vibe!

I ordered lunch takeout from here again. It was ready in less than 10 mins. This time I wanted to try their shrimp with lobster sauce, which also includes snow peas and water chestnuts. Both vegetables were overcooked to my liking since I prefer more crunch, but overall tasted fine. The amount of shrimp was plentiful. To add more flavor, I added soy sauce and chili oil. Their steam rice was meh, but luckily I had some at home. Since the portions here are generous, I was able to make two meals from this one dish.

This place is very non-descript and unassuming little restaurant in a small unassuming strip mall. It basically looks like any other small Chinese restaurant. But we were surprised by the quality of the food! We've been looking for the best replacement for Sam Woo that closed a couple of years ago in Irvine and we haven't found anything. This place gets closer than most! The fish with black bean sauce was our favorite at Sam Woo and it's almost as good here. The fish was perfectly cooked -- very tender -- and the sauce was just right, flavorful but not overpowering. The same for the Mongolian beef. A lot of places overcook the beef or put on so much sauce you can't taste anything else. This was perfectly cooked -- very tender. The only thing you could criticize was that there weren't a lot of green onions. Same again for the beef chow fun and shrimp with lobster sauce. Ask very well cooked and very flavorful. The only criticism we have is that the place could definitely use an upgrade in look and feel. It's definitely been a while since they last decorated. This could be a but if the appeal for some, I guess ... We're definitely coming back!

Okay Chinese food for good price. We ordered their beef mooshu, fish with black bean sauce, chow mein, and green beans. I understand that Chinese foods tend to be more on the oilier side but Everything was very oily and overly sauced. My stomach was not a happy camper. Service was good and the people were nice. The inside of the restaurant, their seatings could use an upgrade

They have almond duck!!! The real kind. Pressed duck with a crispy bite and gravy on top. So good! I remember it a little differently from when I was a kid but I just appreciate its existence. Very classic Chinese restaurant with big circular tables in the middle. Definitely come here for great classic dishes. FOOD: Not only do they have Almond Duck but they have the classic hom yu (salted pork and fish meatball) and of course things like chicken chow mein, kung pao, Mongolian beef, fried wontons, etc. but almond duck! All of it is good. Some better than others. But so happy to find these rare classics that so few serve. What a gem. SERVICE: Had great service and super nice. I did take out and they packaged it thoughtfully and perfectly. I've never seen such care to keep your food safe. COST: More than reasonable! Some dishes like roast duck and almond duck feel like a steal! Definitely coming back.

Wow wow , I've been looking for a sweet quiet ambiance of a place to eat Chinese food like how Gongs was. I miss Gongs in HB but this place has exceded their food and quality, great costumer service. They serve egg rolls, pork with pineapple sweet and sour sauce, chicken chow mein , fried rice , sweet and sour pork, walnut shrimp , chicken with mushroom n veggies and a fortune cookie and of course delish tea. You have to check them out they have a deal for family of 2 or 4 and it's a lot for your buck . Totally one of my FV top Chinese restaurants so check them out . Just remember little places are the best

Love this place! It's a small, family-run restaurant with great customer service. They even give you a whole pot of hot tea for free -- and it's delicious. Our water was refilled every few minutes without us having to ask. Their lunch specials run from Tuesday through Saturday, and the prices are very reasonable. Each lunch special comes with rice, soup, an egg roll, and an entrée. I expected small portions for the price, but all our orders were generous. We togo the leftover. The food is fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. Highly recommended!

Ordered takeout for lunch over the weekend and was very satisfied!…read more We ordered: -spicy chili oil wontons -scallion pancakes and beef roll -pan fried buns -xiao long bao -green beans -cucumber salad -popcorn chicken Everything was delicious! The beef with the scallion pancakes was sooo tender. The cucumber salad was extra refreshing with the perfect balance of savory and tangy. You also can't ever go wrong with spicy wontons, pan fried buns, popcorn chickens, or braised green beans. Yum! Huge bonus: the restaurant is directly connected to Ben Gong's Tea. Loooove the osmanthus milk tea! I'd recommend subbing out the crystal boba and rice with regular boba and tea cubes.

Mine and my bf's go to are the dry fried green beans, mapo tofu, Chong Qing Spicy Chicken, and Yang Chow fried rice. These are more than enough for two people and we always have leftovers to take home. The mapo tofu pairs soooo well with the fried rice and my bf loves the chicken. Green beans are flavorful and crispy as well! Hot and sour soup is HUGE. They aren't consistent in making this because some days it's the perfect balance of tangy and spicy flavor, but other times its tooooo sour. The restaurant is very spacious. I love that you can just order via QR (on your phone).

The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the black bean sauce was rich, savory, and packed with flavor. It's the kind of meal that keeps you coming back whenever you're craving something hearty and delicious. The restaurant has a casual, old-school atmosphere that feels authentic and welcoming. The food comes out quick and it may not be a Michelin star worthy food but it's definitely a comfort food for a lot of people. Their black bean noodles are a staple but I also recommend the spicy shrimp, sweet n sour pork, and sizzling rice soup. Their jjambbong (spicy seafood noodle soup) is just ok.. Service is great because I think the servers recognize my family but speaking Korean also helps. Unfortunately, I have witnessed some of the servers being kind of rude to other patrons. The servers are just always in a rush. But I always find myself going back whenever we have a big group. Don't expect a nice, clean, modern ambiance. The carpets old, decor is questionable, and sometimes there's a weird smell. But I will continue to go here.

The hosts on the phone were super helpful and it was really easy! 1pm on a Saturday and waited less than 1hr doing so (only half of that being in person too). Service top tier as usual. Favorite dishes: - Spicy noodle w/ chicken wontons: sauce is a banger, not too spicy, and they're generous with it to coat all of the noodles! - Lomo Saltado w/ Filet Mignon: the fries are sooo good with a sweet crunch to it PLUS the creamy little spicy cilantro green sauce is so good!!! Picanha had too much fat on it for me, the filet mignon was definitely the move - Garlic noodles: Perfect amount of garlic & butter to the noodles. And again, the green sauce is so superior with this.

I've had a taste of almost all the entrees on the menu, and all of them are a hit from me. The standout for sure is the garlic noodles, specifically with the ribeye. The service is always friendly and welcoming as well, and after all these years of eating here, they remain very quick with brining the food out. Of the Kei Concepts restaurants, this one has been consistently very good.

I totally understand that it's not necessary if you have enough servers. However the servers were just waiting for customers to place orders on the tablet which is exactly the same as a robot. Even refilling water, customers need to place an order on the tablet. Manager never showed up to the table to communicate with customers. How they can improve their service quality if they don't ask? China wears: Bowls look nice, but it is too small for pouring dipping sauce. It is for service small portions of appetizers? No pot or bowl for skimming the scum off. Customers have to use those small bowls for dipping sauce. it makes full quickly. Meat preparations: Thickness of meat is for BBQ, not for shabushabu. It takes long time for meat to be fully cook and it does make meat to be firm. Customers need to chew many time to eat. Shabushabu meats should be very thin, just 5 seconds to let them soak in the boiling soup. I hope the thickness could be thinner next time.
