RESERVATIONS: None are taken but you can get on the Yelp waitlist either on your phone or on their tablet posted at the unmanned host stand. We got seated in about 20 minutes. PARKING: Non existent. Ride share or walk from your hotel. MENU: Eggs, pancakes, waffles, burgers, crepes. Beer & handful of liquor. FOOD: Special Chef's Omelet of the Day It turned out to be exactly what I planned on ordering - mushroom, ham & spinach. Thin like a crepe but tasty. The side of seasoned roasted potatoes were difficult to stop eating. A small ramekin of what tasted like salsa went uneaten on several patron's plates including ours. Specialty Belgian Waffle Crispy, creamy & fluffy. Topped with fresh fruit (I chose banana) and powdered sugar. We got the whipped cream on the side. Delish. SERVICE: There is no host stationed so you need to sign in on their tablet if you didn't use the Yelp waitlist. If you did, simply listen for your name to be called. It's been a minute since we've been here. It was during the 2016 NFL Pro Bowl. Honestly, the food was better that time. My SIL got the French Toast and it was so stale, she had to use a knife to cut it. That's disappointing. She said the strawberries were delicious though. My BIL had the pancakes and he couldn't finish them because of the amount. He said they were good though. The whipped cream and crushed macadamias were a nice touch. My wife had a Strawberry Belgian waffle that she said was ok and would've been better if they used a sweeter waffle batter instead of plain pancake batter. She also loved the fresh strawberries. I had the pineapple and sour cream crepes and they were delicious. Hot as magma initially, which was good. I also had a side of bacon which was outstanding. It was thick cut and cooked perfectly. My husband is in Hawaii for work and just had breakfast at this restaurant before heading to the airport to come home. He said the restaurant was bright and spacious and well-maintained. It had a nice vibe to it. He ordered the Hawaii Hawaiian style Loco Moco, and said it was very good. The portion size was great, and the food was seasoned well and very flavorful. He said he was sad that he hadn't had a chance to go to this restaurant until the day that he was leaving, because he would have definitely gone back multiple times. I haven't been to Eggs 'n Things since post pandemic in 2023. I used to go regularly to the Piikoi location so I was hoping for the same welcoming atmosphere. This was quite different. This location feels like your anywhere mainland diner except no ice cream sundae on the menu. We ordered the special chocolate and banana french toast and a plate of kalbi with a side of pancakes. Drinks were POG and cold brew coffee. French toast didn't reinvent the wheel for me. What we noticed was they had no coconut syrup or guava syrup like their other locations. I reach for the coconut syrup normally. The kalbi was super thin and not what we thought it would be. There are many other places that serve kalbi that are cheaper but have more grnerous portions. Overall I'd stick to the Piikoi location. This was convenience for us since just outside our hotel. It felt like the staff was more interested in getting us seated, fed, and out as fast as they can to get the next person in so it was in ways a rushed experience. read more

We decided to try Eggs 'n Things because it was close to our hotel and it was already getting late. The food was okay, but nothing particularly memorable or worth going out of your way for. Unfortunately, the service was disappointing. It took quite a while for our server to greet us, and after taking our order, she rarely checked back on our table. We specifically requested that mushrooms be removed from one of our dishes, but that request was overlooked. It was a simple modification, and it felt like little attention was given to our order. I understand that this location stays busy, especially being right across from the beach, but being busy shouldn't come at the expense of customer service. The restaurant itself also feels outdated and could benefit from some renovations and updates. With its popularity and established reputation, I expected a much better overall experience. He was the older guy, overall seemed short and like he didn't want us there. 30 seconds after sitting down he asks if we know what we want to order and when we said not yet he just turned around like he was annoyed and every interaction after that. The chicken was really good and flavorful, but the waffle was overcooked. The pancakes were cold when they came out and were not soft and fluffy. They were hard to cut and rubbery when chewed. The "whip cream" they charge extra for is just Cool Whip. The scrambled eggs were also cold when they came out and were overcooked. They were out of green onions so they subbed with white onions. I thought they'd be diced but they came out slivered instead. The price thst you pay for the quality of food you get isn't worth it. I'd find somewhere else to eat. read more

Walked by and decided to eat here for breakfast as it was closest to our resort, Alohilani. Immediately was greeted by Giselle who was incredibly great personality. I heard a lot about Eggs 'n Things so I had to give it a try! Upon arriving, I expected there would be a wait as we had gotten there around 8am. Overall wait was around 30ish minutes. Upon entering we were greeted and drinks were served pretty quickly. We then met our server and put our order in. I had gotten the Plantation Pork Chop which is pretty much a piece of Ham. It tasted nothing like a pork chop unfortunately. My girlfriend had gotten the Eggs Benedict which when eating, there were eggshells in it. Tried to eat here two days in a row, and both times the wait time was completely misleading. On the first day, we were told the wait would be around 1 hour. After about 40 minutes, we received a text saying they were "busier than usual," and the wait kept getting longer. We left because it was too hot to keep waiting. On the second day, we were clearly told the wait would be 20-30 minutes. After 30 minutes, we received another text saying they were busier than usual and added another 30 minutes. In total, it became more than 1 hour again. It feels like a trap because they do not show the real wait time upfront. Once people have already waited 30-60 minutes, they feel pressured to keep waiting another 20-30 minutes. Very frustrating experience. read more

Inside they have booth and a long bar style seating area which is where we were sat. We had already looked at the menu before seating so we ordered right away. Service was fast and friendly. It was pouring outside so all the windows were closed making it a bit steamy inside but ok. The Portuguese sausage was really good and the portion was bigger than I expected for being the side. All 3 dishes ordered came out wrong including ahi, cheeseburger and waffle. The hostess is very rude and the service is not great. There was a party whose name was called when I walked up (I remember the name because it was unique). Well 20 mins later the person came up because she must not have heard her name called (they only call out your name once) and she asked if ordering the food to go would be faster. The hostess didn't say she already called her name and the table was ready, but proceeded to just take the takeout order. The woman was clearly expecting a text she didn't receive. Today's Special is Ahi & Eggs, but we ordered Ahi Burger, thinking the ahi shall be good today - we are not disappointed, it is pretty good, although it can have more flavor. This place has changed tremendously!! For the worst!! My husband and I had been coming here when we were vacationing and can say after 38 years it's no more for us. We went this morning and first thing they say is we are short staff so there may be a delay. Then our food comes out the Portuguese sausages were so dry, the scrambled eggs were barely cooked , and the pancakes extremely dry. You have to ask for water as well as the coconut syrup which they give you two tablespoon of it in a plastic little container.
