Came here on a Thursday approx 9am. Two small groups waiting in front of us so we assumed it wouldn't be too much of a wait. Unfortunately they seemed understaffed and from the time we walked in to the time we were seated, vacant tables sat that needed to be cleaned. The wait time was about 30mins. Food was good, big portions. It's been a while since I've been to Eggs 'n Things but they didn't have coconut syrup on the tables. We didn't get a coffee refill, I guess because of the understaffing. We got here at 7:45am and did a reservation on a Friday. It was very empty so we got seated right away. The ambiance felt like any other diner. But I knew from the atmosphere the food was going to be good! I had the Kalbi & eggs while my husband had his well done Ahi. The server recommended to get the Ahi with furikake and macadamia and it was delicious. The fried rice was great - it wasn't too greasy, oily or heavy and had a nice amount of flavor. The Kalbi was tender and I loved the marinade. Overall the experience was tasty and we got served very quick! And everyone was very friendly. Would definitely go back. read more

Pretty busy on a rainy Friday morning, but we were seated right away. Service was perfect and very attentive. We ate with a toddler and they sate us in a comfortable booth in the corner. Ordered the Portuguese Omelette (sausage, spinach, cheese and onions) the onions were raw and sliced. Wish they were cooked/grilled and diced or at least smaller. Got the omelette with a short stack; other options were rice or seasoned potatoes. I thought a short stack was 2 pancakes, but we got 3! Yum ! Bathrooms were clean and parking is plentiful. On our Hawaii trip we stopped at one of the eggs n things locations and we were so happy we did! The portions were very generous and the food was made to perfection. I was back in Hawaii, and remembering the great meal I had here last time, I decided to come back. I got here a few minutes after seven on a Wednesday morning, and it was not busy at all..... as always, the place is bright and clean, and everybody was very friendly... This time, I decided to go for the Kal-bi short rib, with eggs and rice. The food came quick, and once again, it was amazing. The rib was tender, marinated very well, and absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly done, as was the generous portion of rice. It also came with a side order of kimchi. I almost asked him to leave it off, as I normally don't care for kimchi, because every time I've had it, it was very spicy. My server told me that this kimchi was not spicy, I decided to try it, and I am glad I did. It was absolutely delicious, tender, and it had just the tiniest hint of spice. Just enough that I barely noticed it. It didn't look like a big plate of food when he brought it, but it was a very generous portion. I did not leave hungry. As always, the coffee was also very good, and they kept my cup full. Prices are just a tiny bit on the higher end, but extremely reasonable for what you get. Thought we'd give it a try. Staff was friendly and we were seated upon arrival. For the amount of tables occupied, I thought we had made a good choice. It had a good variety of menu items. I decided on an acai bowl which was great but I was half through before the french toast plate arrived covered with whip cream. There was no syrup and by this time it had gotten a little busier and no one stopped by to ck on us. I had to wave the server who said, "it's right there. Oops, it's supposed to be," and went to get a container. Meanwhile, we found that the whipped cream covered toasts were burnt! Even the knife had difficulty cutting through them. read more

Very busy location with good food and plenty of seating. I had the ribeye steak & eggs with a short stack of pancakes. Coconut syrup was a great local taste on top of my pancakes. Coffee was good, service very friendly and decent based on how busy they were. I wanted a refill on my coffee and had to go to counter to make request, not knowing my waiter was aware and was just waiting on a fresh pot. I have had food here several times. This was first time service was terrible. Seated very quickly but didn't see waiter at all. Received water from busboy after 8 min but waited 10 minutes with no interaction with anyone else. No coffee offer. While I generally understand how difficult waiting tables is, our wait was over 12 minutes without even waithelp giving us an estimate. As we left, I told the counter help why we left. No apology, no acknowledgement of the inconvenience whatsoever. While not a fast food restaurant, it's not fine dining either. Food is usually good there. I ordered fried rice online through door dash and nowhere did it explain the ingredients of the dish. Then I receive the order and there's bean sprouts in my fried rice. Who puts bean sprouts in fried rice?!?!?! Horrible culinary taste. And on top of that I received a side of potatoes and the potatoes were deep fried. Horrible! For what this restaurant charges you'd think they'd know how to make proper breakfast potatoes. Not just buy diced potatoes and deep fry them. I will never be back. Not recommend them. I usually bring family or friends here who visit us from the mainland but today's visit was just my husband and I. We were looking for someplace to eat that would kill time while we waiting for Ala Moana to open and decided on Eggs 'n Things. Tons of free parking and they offer waitlist service via yelp app. Party of 2 and zero wait :) Provided with water and drink order taken immediately upon being seated. Their menu is extensive and they offer typical breakfast items (i.e., pancakes, waffles, omelette) plus local favorites (i.e., fried rice, loco moco). My husband and I decided to share and chose the breakfast meat n eggs which comes with 2 eggs and your choice of spam, Portuguese sausage, chicken apple sausage, pork links, bacon, ham, turkey bacon, corned beef hash, or vegan patty plus a starch which could be rice, breakfast hash, or short stack of buttermilk pancakes. We chose Portuguese sausage with rice and two over easy eggs. Eggs were cooked perfectly. 4 large slices of Portuguese sausage were delicious with a hint of heat/spiciness and that true smokey portuguese sausage flavor. Rice seemed dry like they didn't add enough water in the rice pot! We also decided on the 3 strawberry crepes. Ok, so here's where the WTF begins. 3 large crepes served rolled and topped with thin slices of strawberries then sprinkled with powdered sugar. Looks pleasant buttttt that's about it. The crepes were like pancakes or thinner pancakes but thick crepes. We also tasted cinnamon so we're thinking they must add that to their crepe batter!? These weren't the typical French origin crepes that are thin, delicate, with a hint of sweetness that were used to. These were bad! We'd probably return but we would most def stay away from ordering crepes ever again! read more

We had about 3 different workers helping us. There is indoor seating available to enjoy your breakfast with family and friends. Clean place located by Ala Moana Center. The best breakfast I had in Waikīkī was at Eggs 'n Things. The food tasted amazing, and everything came out fresh and flavorful(ps. Make sure you try the salsa). The staff definitely made the experience even more enjoyable--they were friendly, attentive, and welcoming. It's located on the second floor and has a really cute ambiance that makes it a great spot to sit down and enjoy breakfast while in Waikīkī. I also had to ask for a refill for my coffee- nobody came around! Such a bummer because I really loved this location. Eggs 'n Things is the place I go to when I want a quick and satisfying breakfast. We've tried various dishes over the years, and usually my go-to is the Eggs Benedict - I've tried this at almost every breakfast-serving place I visit, and this one is one of the best I've had - but lately I've been getting the Hawaiian Loco Moco and this is a good one if you need a meal that will leave you feeling full and content. It is so tasty with the hamburger patty and diced Portuguese sausage, and top it with 2 over easy eggs and you won't need to eat lunch because it's filling! My son likes to get the pancakes or waffles topped with strawberries and whipped cream, but at this last visit, he got the French Toast Special (blueberries, cream cheese and whipped topping) and it was delicious! Service is always great and really quick. They are attentive and regularly come to check on you. I like how the tables are spaced out nicely and it's a very peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere. This is a review that's been in the making since Dec. 2023! OMG! Hubby and I came to Honolulu, Hawaii for a much needed relaxing vacation. We were staying at a really nice hotel and were both really tired from our long flight and wanted to just relax. The next morning on December 5, 2023, hubby decided to place a delivery order from UberEats. When the food came, I was ready as I was hungry. I couldn't believe it when we opened the food trays. The food looked so good and the presentation was AMAZING. We had the Kimchi Fried Rice. On top was a scrambled egg in the shape of a flower which I loved. It was too pretty to eat but eat we did. That is some of the best fried rice I have had in my life! So flavorful. He also got the Hawaiian Thick Sliced French Toast. It tasted as good as it looked. We ate everything! We were so grateful they were available through UberEats so we could just chill outside our room on the balcony and watch the views of Waikiki Beach. Wonderful food! You won't be disappointed. Hmmmm. I wish I could give more stars. I was super excited to get the waffle with blueberries, no whip cream, since I saw a photo of the whip cream and it was way too much. My waffle tasted burnt. :( . The blueberries were sweet. But I was jus so sad about the burnt taste. We kid got strawberry waffle and bacon and he enjoyed it. The bacon was super crispy and yummy! We frequented the piikoi location when they first opened years ago, but it's a huge tourist attraction, so stopped putting it in our rotation. On a Friday morning, my grandpa and I waited about 15 min to get seated. They were bustling, but the service was good and the menu, extensive. We ordered a massive omelette and two short stacks, which left us with leftovers for later in the day. I've never been to the Waikiki locations, but have seen people lining up outside for breakfast at those as early as 6am. Unsure we'd be that desperate to eat here, but it was yummy and a homie feeling spot with both visitor and local clientele alike. read more

Looked for a spot a bit out of Waikiki and was happy to find one near the Ala Moana center. I expected a wait when we arrived at noon on a Sunday but there wasn't one (swung by on the way from the airport). This is about the size of the two-story location in Waikiki. it's in a strip mall just outside the giant parking garage so maybe people don't find it? Anyway just as awesome and looks like a diner just like the spots in Waikiki. Our server was great and kept the coffee and water coming and made sure we had everything we needed. I was a bit nervous when we first sat down and saw that the only syrup on the table was just normal maple syrup (uh oh!). But I knew the food would be good even if they didn't have the coconut syrup (sniff!) so we sat down and ordered. When I asked about coconut syrup they brought it to my table (yay) and I was thrilled. I had the smoked salmon benedict and that was amazing also. Came here around the brunch hour on a state holiday that landed on a Wednesday during spring break. The wait was about 15-20 minutes. I'd recommend putting your party on the waitlist prior to arriving so your wait isn't too long, especially on a hot day. We got plantation iced tea, pancakes, eggs benedict, and a breakfast meat and eggs dish. As any other place, stir your drink else you'll just be sipping on juice or syrup. I opted for Portuguese Sausage with taro roll and rice for my eggs Benedict, because why not? It was okay but not something I'd go out of my way for. The pancakes were a little disappointing since it wasn't as fluffy as we'd hope it to be and the mount of whipped cream just toppled and melted quickly into the bland pancakes. At the end, we asked a worker to explain the 3% transaction fee for credit cards. His response was he didn't know, he just works there. Such a disappointing response because as a worker for the restaurant, you either know or refer to someone who does. Another worker said that to take the Kitchen Service fee (3%) and just double it and it'll be the amount for both the credit card and kitchen service fee. Again, wrong information! If you really like their food and don't mind these extra charges, the Kitchen Service fee is placed before taxes and the credit card surcharge is after taxes and tip. This has been our "go to" for breakfast eats! You can sign in on their app through Yelp and it tells you what place in line you're at. Whether you arrive before your reservation is up, remember to go to the cashier and let them know you're there. Sometimes they can take you early as there's no shows. Service has been very good. As soon as you're seated, a server or the person that seated you typically ask if you want coffee and/or water. Service is very good as the food typically comes out within reasonable time even if they're busy. Luckily the 3 times we've been there, we got Dee as our server. She provides great service and checks on you to see if all is good including coffee refills. We got to converse with her for little bit as we told her we appreciate her good service. She's been working there for 14years and is humble to not let her patrons know that she's actually a manager!!! We hope upper management recognizes great dedicated employees such as Dee! It's their favorite breakfast spot and has quickly become one of mine. We always try to set a reservation, then your whole party has to be there to be seated. The employees remember some of us and always greet us like friends. Food menu has a ton of great options, as we have a diverse need of dietary accommodations. Stopped by Eggs 'n Things at an off-time around 2pm so there was no wait and the restaurant was only about 20% occupied. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Corned Beef Hash Omelette ($15.95): This is just corned beef with eggs and no other toppings. Omelette served with choice of potatoes, rice, or pancakes. Went for the pancakes and asked for their coconut syrup which makes it absolutely delicious! Corned beef omelette was very simple, nothing special. Island Style Fried Rice ($16.95): Rice stir fried with fishcake, assorted meat, veggies, and topped with 2 eggs. Decent portions but personally felt there was a lack of flavor in the rice. I did enjoy the charred rice bits. Good service throughout our visit. Pay for the meal up front with the cashier.
