Went in on Easter Sunday around 1230. Had to wait about 40 minutes which wasn't too bad. Got the egg white omelette with potatoes. The potatoes were great and the salsa was amazing but the omelette was really bland. Boyfriend got the poached eggs and bacon with rice. All decent. The star were the banana crepes. I'm sure the star of everything are their sweet options. I would go back to try their pancakes for sure. read more

I hadn't been in this establishment in years...like 7 years! However, I've come twice. This place is always packed. If you want to beat the crowd, 7:30-8:00 is best. If it's filled already, 10-15 minute wait versus 30-45 minutes. I'm a stickler for omelettes...from a simple to filled almighty huge ones. I've gone other establishments, but not satisfied fully because they fill their own, but no real choice of creating my own without adding $1-$3 to my bill. I like this place, friendly and caring staff, very attentive. They have a bigger omelette selection which I selected the vege omelette (spinach, zucchini, mushrooms, Pepper Jack cheese)...rice or breakfast potatoes. I selected potatoes. A little ketchup really add flavor, no salt needed. The vegetables has a soft chew...adding texture, flavors are spot on. There's a crunch to the potatoes and better than eating rice. Average (3/5) for me but could be great (4/5) for the right person. Typical breakfast diner feel but good for the price. My initial impression is this is a place that uses a lot of sugar and fats in their cooking. I would need to explore more of their dishes before i could consider making a recommendation. Service (4/5): I went quite early so there were minimal people there. Overall the service was great, food came out quick, and multiple different hosts asked how i was doing throughout. My one complaint (which for me really bugged me) was that i had to ask for water (when i ordered). Then did not get water until my food came (with the coffee arriving before both). Cappuccino (3/5): sweet, tasted like chocolate milk, minimal coffee flavor (albeit not absent). Wrap (with bacon and pepperjack) (3/5): Oily (from butter) where it was dripping out of the burrito. The butter masked a lot of the individual flavors of the burrito (green onions, pepper jack, and bacon). If they are going to use a lot of butter I wish they would use an onion with a stronger flavor profile (rather than green onion). The ingredients within the burrito were well cooked however, and not dry. The toast on the outside was nice and added texture. The salsa had little spice but was cold which was a nice contrast with the hot burrito. Saying this, it was a decent price and it filled me up. read more

Nice place for breakfast food. Has a good selection of different items. There is a good parking lot right in front. When you get here you can check in on the iPad outside with your name and party size. It's connected to Yelp so you can watch where you are on the waitlist. It seems geared toward tourists but still a good place to have breakfast. We had 6 people in our group and they were able to seat us without too much of a wait. But I'm sure it can get very crowded. We got loco mocos, crepes, Kim chee fried rice, and the breakfast burrito. I think everything was good. I don't think anything was super amazing but it was all good. The service was really great! The people were so nice and kept checking on us. There was also a kama'aina discount, so that's always great. read more

Without a lot of hearty breakfast options downtown, this place is a great location across from the beach with a huge variety on the menu. Beautiful views out the large front windows. Prices are average for the location, but the $4 coffee was a bit wild to me and I wouldn't order again. I've been twice - the first time at opening was a fantastic experience. This most recent time we went an hour after opening and waited for 35 minutes to be seated, when we were quoted 20 minutes. Once seated, service was really quick. When our table was ready, they brought a high chair for our toddler which was appreciated. I ordered the pineapple waffle and my husband ordered the island fried rice (featuring an egg of your choice!). The waffle itself was nothing out of the ordinary but had a high dollop of whipped cream with pineapple bits which my toddler enjoyed (a little bit too much!). The fried rice was tasty and had a variety of different toppings, but it wasn't anything to rave about. Overall, my husband and I both thought this was a medicore breakfast spot in Waikiki. Located in a plaza neighboring Ala Moana Shopping center, Eggs n Things offers a great breakfast menu that highlights Hawaiian specialties. This was not my first visit, but this time I ordered the Panasadas, their take on a malasada pancake, defiantly get this with cinnamon! They were delicious, crunchy on the outside and doughy on the inside just like a malasada. My girlfriend really enjoys the crab cake Benedict's, her absolute favorite eggs Benedict on the planet and orders it every time. Expect there to be a wait even early in the morning. Though this location should be less trafficked than their Waikiki location. There is ample parking so no need to worry about fighting for a spot. read more

This place really hit the spot. We came here on the last day of our trip and regretted not finding it sooner. They have their own parking lot which is a HUGE plus, had great food, and a nice selection of souvenirs. The atmosphere was laid back and quiet, and all of the staff were super nice. I first heard of Eggs 'n Things while researching for a listicle on Japanese restaurants in 2019. I was surprised to learn that Eggs 'n Things actually had its beginnings in Hawaii and not Japan! So when I had the opportunity to go to Hawaii, I put Eggs 'n Things at the top of my list because I'm a sucker for soft, fluffy pancakes. I went in there thinking it would be like the Japanese soufflé pancakes but I was mistaken. Despite the pancakes being the flat kind, my trip there was very well worth it because their pancakes are damn good, as were the other dishes that we got. That first visit, I dined in at the one located by Waikiki beach after waiting in the long line under the scorching heat. When I went back to Hawaii this year, I decided to switch things up and go to this location instead. There's a big parking lot and with a much shorter line. You sign up for the queue using the self-serve kiosk, which was very convenient. I probably only waited about 10 minutes or so before I got seated. The menu was just like I remembered - full of many pancake options and lots of savory dishes that were hard to pass up. I tried to be smart this time by not getting a whole entree and pancakes to share because I did that last time and there was way too much food leftover. No, this time I went with the healthy route - ordered a fresh papaya and pancakes. Silly me. I was given half a papaya and had so much trouble trying to finish it even though it was juicy and sweet with all the seeds already removed for me. I was in a constant debate over whether I should prioritize the pancakes or the papaya. The short answer is I ended up taking half of the pancakes to go, which I surprisingly did end up finishing in my hotel room the next day! But seriously, you can't go wrong with any of the pancake choices as long as you get it topped with whipped cream and macadamia nuts and served with both coconut syrup and guava syrup on the side! I personally like it better with the coconut syrup but where else would you get to eat pancakes with guava syrup!? read more

Nice casual brunch spot that has something for everyone! I got the kalua pig benedict and upgraded my side to mac nut pancakes. The mac nut pancakes weren't particularly special, but they were still tasty with the different syrups (maple, coconut, or guava). Next time I'd probably try one of their other specialty pancakes. The kalua pig benedict was very tasty and paired well with the taro bun. Portions are quite large so make sure you come with a big appetite! Also, be sure to join the yelp waitlist before you physically arrive at the restaurant. We went at peak brunch time on Saturday and the wait ended up being about 1 hour. I liked this place! I had the fresh caught ahi and eggs. It was not what I expected (in a bad way). It was bad. Did not like. Very dry. Scrambled eggs were dry.
