This is a place that has been very popular and a tourist attraction but I have no idea why. Maybe if you can eat anything in the world it's okay but my experience, especially after waiting, even with our names put on a waitlist prior to arriving was not great. You would think that in 2023 breakfast places would offer some sort of non dairy option and be accommodating to food allergies. When you ask for a burger with no bun and no fries and extra lettuce or salad and you get a big plate with just the patty it's pathetic when you're charged $17 for it. That is ridiculous. How could a chef not feel like they should make that more attractive to serve up. I mean they are saving on fries and bun. Also, we had a cake for our friends birthday and they don't allow that at all and was told by management we had to put it away. Do they serve birthday cakes?? Did we not just order a bunch of food?! What is the issue there.. after waiting an hour I will never return! Terrible... read more

A few friends recommended Eggs 'n Things to me while I was visiting Honolulu. I vary between giving it a 3-4 stars depending on what you are looking for or expecting. In either case, it definitely gets busy on the weekend mornings, so expect a long wait. It is basically a diner style set up and the food is hearty and filling. If you are looking for straightforward breakfast diner fare, then you could give this place 4 stars but beyond this there is nothing exceptional that makes it really stand out (aside from the large volumes of food and the insanely over the top amount of whip cream they serve with some dishes). I would really only come back here if I was in the mood for a hearty breakfast and the line was shorter. read more

Breakfast quite tasty. Friendly and helpful servers. Little pricey. Looks like they're short staffed. Limited parking.

Loved this place. Wanted to go for a simply nice breakfast and casual atmosphere. I usually don't order coffee, but walking in to this little diner, the smell was amazing. Little back story, I went to another diner a few months before and ordered a coffee and it was sour. Turned me off to diner coffee, but at Eggs n Things I had 2-3 cups! Honestly, I ate so much during our vacation but what stands out most in my mind is the Eggs and Kalbi that I had. The meat was marinated to perfection and everything that morning was just perfect. My husband and my son shared a stack of Guava pancakes and my husband had an amazing looking omelette. My son's chicken mango sausages tasted great as well. We come back to HI in October and will be headed here for sure. :) read more

It was our first time eating at this place. Staff was friendly. Food was delicious. I recommend this place overall. One thing you have to arrive early for breakfast or wait outside for a table. But at the end is worth waiting. read more

We've been coming here during a few recent trips to Oahu. When we fly in at night, we stopped here since they're open a little later than other restaurants. Both times we were the only ones in the restaurant, which was fine by us as our food came out quickly. On our last trip, we came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning a little before 8am, and we had to wait, but only about ten minutes. We all ordered breakfast items, with myself ordering the blueberry whipped cream pancakes, my wife sharing the sour cream and blueberry crepes with my mother-in-law, and my father-in-law ordering one of the specials - poi waffles with fresh fruit. Even though the place was packed, our orders still came out fairly quick. My pancakes were topped with a lot of whipped cream, way too much for me in fact. I should have probably ordered the regular blueberry pancakes, which are also $2.50 cheaper. They were tasty and very filling so I wasn't able to finish all FIVE of the pancakes. My wife and in-laws also enjoyed their meals. Service was fine, and we'd go there again if in the neighborhood. read more

After surviving the Mid Pacific, Iolani and Punahou graduations, all in one night, we needed some nourishment. Didn't feel like Zippy's or anything in Waikiki so we hopped over to Eggs and Things. We ordered the Kim Chee Fried Rice, Hawaiian Loco Moco and the special omelette (zucchini, spinach and Portuguese sausage). Everything was great. I wished they could have cooked the zucchini a bit more - it was still crunchy - but it was ok. Service was great and the staff was very pleasant despite the late hour. read more

Five-star reward users beware: I've been mildly annoyed with Eggs n' Things for a while because they've forgotten items a couple of times, and I find it annoying that they make you pay in advance, so you can't pay in cash if you want to order takeout and not have to wait a long time for your food. But, I accepted those things because mistakes happen, and maybe they've been burned on takeout orders before. Today, however, will probably turn me off them for a while. I got a five-star notification that I had a 25% off reward. I don't live near this location at all, so it's a rare treat, but I was willing to make the drive because I was excited to use my reward. However, when I got there, I punched in my phone number, and the reward appeared, but they said I couldn't use it because I ordered online. Ok, I guess that's annoying but fair, but then I asked for future reference, should I have ordered over the phone so that I could tell them about my reward? They said no, you're only allowed to do it in person, and since they don't let you order ahead without paying, that means I have to place my order in person, and then wait at the store for up to an hour (that was the wait time they gave the guy before me) for my food while I could be doing something more productive with my time. IDK if I'm blowing it out of proportion, but it just feels a little sneaky to me that they would lure you with the promise of this great discount and then make it so difficult to use. (Plus, I had already paid them my tip online, so I paid a generous - for takeout - tip on this poor service.) Otherwise, besides the occasional missing item and slightly smaller portion sizes (in relation to the price), the food is fine. However, I don't think I'll find it worth my time to make the drive out there for a while... read more

I really enjoy eating here because they give good portions of the staff is always really nice. You also get discounts if you are military or local. I especially love the adobo fried (btw I'm not a big adobo) with two eggs over easy. The other I like it here is because there is no issue with parking and plus it is close to my house. If you like breakfast, well the name of the place says it all. Pancakes, waffles, assortment of meats, syrup and whip cream on top. The spam fries are interesting as well if you like spam. It's also walking distance from Ala Moana Center and the bus stop if you don't drive. I recommend that you check this location as well there other locations. Btw they serve breakfast all day and they have acai bowls too!! read more

The service was great able to get people in and out quickly. They have some must try items on the menu. Don't miss out.

Hangry post warning. Very poor seating management by the hostess. We were waiting 20 minutes, told the wait is 30 min. There are 5 couples ahead of us (so clearly the wait will be more than 30 min). 2 counter spots open up, so the hostess asks the next couple if they want counter, they say no. You'd think she'd then ask the next pair. But no she walks off to chat with her coworkers while the seats sit empty. After about 5 min a person walks in and asks if she can sit at the counter and the hostess sits her right down. The food here is average diner food. We used to come here because its convenient and reasonably priced. This is my last visit to Eggs n' Things. read more

The omelette was EXTREMELY runny. They also did not offer bell peppers or avocado. Not worth the money or the wait. Go to Denny's or IHOP. read more

Having been customers since the days of the original Ena Rd and Kalākaua/McCully locations, the degradation of this business has hit an all time low. The history of Customer Service and satisfaction created those long lines and waiting times for quality looking and tasty food. The new and modernized service is heavily lacking too. On this visit, there were maybe 3 servers, a busser and some food deliverers. There were No Water or beverage refills offered in the 1 hour service period. It took 20 mins to give our order since our server was working a 10 plus customer table in the middle of the restaurant. Meanwhile, as our throats became parched awaiting the arrival of the food and drinks, there were four employees in the Juice Bar chatting and visiting while keeping up with there phones. Upon arrival of the breakfasts, I asked for a container of the salsa. The food deliverer brought a small plastic lidded container with what was approximately 2 teaspoons. When I asked for more, I was told they only serve one. Jerry would turn in his grave. The portions have shrunk, as well as the plates, but not the prices. What was once a Classic of Waikiki, no longer exists. Stick with Denny's or IHOP. read more

I've been on a search for some really good eggs benny and I found it here. Out of all the places I tried, this one tops it off for me!! My basic eggs benny dream come true :) it changes every time I go to all breakfast places, but they're my favorite so far! I love it. It wasn't salty, and the sauce was nice and light! I think I got a lot of Canadian bacon which all the other places don't really give! So more bacon, more yummy in tummy ;) I also tried the Hawaiian loco moco, it was good too. But I made a mistake, should have swapped regular rice for fried rice for the magic touch! Other than that good experience but expect to wait for 30 mins or so on their busy days. And parking is crazy jam packed! read more

Not sure this place lived up to its hype. After getting recommended this place for breakfast by several people we decided to hit it up. The inside was lots of yellow and beige and tons of kitchy souvenirs from syrups and honey to rain ponchos and key chains. We waited about 10 minutes to be seated. Ordered Macadamia pancakes and they were so fluffy and with a total of 5. My partner got the Loco Moco, it was OK. I liked the syrup choices coconut and guava, but all in all very sweet! Ordered a side of spam and potatoes because I need something to cut the sweet, very high prices on the unmarked sides. 4 slices spam was nearly 6 bucks! Also my partner was served and they said they said my pancakes would be out shortly. It was at least 5 mins. Just a bit of a pet peeve of mine. Need to plan/manage tickets a bit better so we can eat together. This place to me was just OK, it reminded me of a Hawaiian Perkins. read more

My cousin and I went to this restaurant for the first time because I wanted to see why outrageous lines to get in were a common sight on the weekends. We went on a weekday hoping to avoid the long waits. Fortunately we were seated quickly. Unfortunately things went downhill from there. We did not get our coffee in a timely manner. Personally, that is the most important thing for a "coffee shop". Cream was not brought along with the coffee either, and the refills were few and far between. The restaurant was not extremely busy at the time. We also did not get our ordered pancakes. The food was actually better than the service that we received. The fried rice loco moco was small but tasty. My cousin enjoyed the pork chop which was actually a ham chop. I was pleasantly surprised about the kamaaina discount. However, I would avoid going to this place again because of the poor service we received that day. read more

With everything going on we finally found someplace with sit down service. Everyone is spread out for safety. Every other table. Great job!

Greatest local breakfast on the island . Love everything on the menu. It's always great Mahalo

First-time diner at this establishment. I was promptly seated by the hostess at the bar (maybe next time I should sit at the booths for a full dining experience). MY ORDER: I ordered the Crab cake Benedict with 3 buttermilk pancakes. My breakfast was ordered and came out quick within 2-3 minutes. VERDICT: -1 star for less hollandaise sauce (which I think should be running over the Benedict). The muffin was toasted well and the crab cake was a little mushy (must be pre-made then frozen or something), but overall it was good cause I was hungry and the eggs were runny--my favorite! Pancakes were fluffy and golden brown to perfection. I enjoyed it with some coconut syrup. My waiter was very cordial and welcoming. Refilled my water when he noticed it was going down. He checked to make sure I was doing okay. Would I return? Sure thing! Looking forward to trying out the other menu items. read more

This will be a zero star if it's allow. We made a reservation and came in to eat on Wednesday morning, we came to the restaurant, it wasn't busy at all in there, but Denisag still let us wait till everyone on the party is here, which we had 2/3 at the moment, but my dad can barely walk or stand, which is kinda having a bad mood about it already, but after we all here, we ask for booth seats which it's empty, then the server started to get annoying about it maybe? Because she started to throw the plates and utensils on the table. We were trying to talk it out, but she end up saying "don't yell at me" which we didn't yell, and we were try to look for her manager, and she told us " she is the manager, what are you trying to say" and started to question us " what's your attitude", we end up leaving the restaurant with very bad mood to start off the day, the servers name is Denisag, I'm not sure if she is the manager or not, but never been treat like this before at a restaurant, we understand it's a policy for them that the whole party have to be here to be seated, but at the time, it wasn't busy at all, A lot of empty tables, my dad is 80 years old, she doesn't seem to have a heart on handicap person, because she kept mention about the handicap seat, which is foldable but she mention as can't fit the booth. I wouldn't recommend this location because of the service specially if the manager are acting like this. Their food is always good but not this location, maybe try a different location, the atmosphere of the employees or server are better in Waikiki location read more

I come here every so often and they've always gotten my order correct. However this particular time, the server, who's name was Doyoung, had not only misheard my order but also charged me for the an item of similar content however more expensive. We ate here as a family on Sunday morning. My husband got a coffee to drink and the cup was pretty small. He ordered corn beef hash and eggs and it seemed that the hash was a standard store bought style hash, nothing special. My eggs Benedict on the other hand was large and pretty good. It was slightly skimped on hollandaise sauce but still good. Our son had a fruit and yogurt cup and it was probably one of the best variety fruit cups around for a kids menu and his hot chocolate was fun and came with tons of whipped cream and cute colored sprinkles so he was super happy!! I would have to say we would only eat here again if we were on this side of town and it had the shortest line, other places around have larger better tasting portions for the same price. read more

I arrived about 10am, didn't realize it was a peak hour but makes sense because its location, on Saturday and I passed by people waiting/sitting outside the restaurant. It was only me and the host said there was a 5 minute wait for parties 2 and more. Once I checked in with the host I asked if I could sit at the bar. She said yes but I had to wait a moment. It took around 5 minutes which made me realize that the bar seating wasn't a walk up bar at that moment. Lolita was my server and as busy as she was, she greeted me promptly. Took my drink order first and within a minute I had my hot tea and cold water by my side as I looked through the menu. She guided me to the specials that day, which looked great! But I chose a vegetarian omelet with egg whites instead. My meal was delicious, I would have had more salsa with my omelet but I forgot to ask as I was thoroughly enjoying my breakfast. The ambience was very family friendly and the staff were friendly and understood efficiency. Lolita and the cashier reminded me to show my ID for more discounts. It felt like a good team work environment which also made my visit comfortable. The bar area and the restaurant can be a bit tight depending on your size but it was enjoyable as the patrons were considerate. read more

My daughter and I ate here yesterday, 3 October 2022 and immediately seated. I ordered a NY steak medium rare and received a tough medium steak. I advised the person going around with a white hand held POS named Randy and I had showed him my steak and asked him, what does my meat look like it was cooked, he stated "medium." I advised him that I had ordered Medium Rare and he said well, its on the medium side and walked away. Of course, I did not want to make a scene as the resturaunt was busy but it is not the norm when bringing situations like this it is not addressed. So, in closing, the food here was unacceptable to include the service from Randy. read more

Long wait and dingy place, but nice view of the ocean. Randy was pleasant getting our order. We ordered island fried rice with eggs, sour cream blueberry crepes and a scrambled egg with sausage on the side. Most of our food took about 30 min to come out, but the side of egg and sausage didn't come out for another 10-20 min. The side of eggs came out cold and this 1-star review is for what happened after we notified one of the staff members (manager?) - bald and overweight, acted like he owned the place barking orders at servers and non chalantly approaching customers. We called him over and asked if we could please have a refund for the eggs because they took too long and were cold on arrival. He picked up our plate, looked at it, perhaps trying to take the temperature with his eyes, smacked it down on the table and went to the kitchen without saying a word to us. He came back and asked to see our receipt, and credit card. This whole interaction left a terrible taste in my mouth, not once did he apologize, and maintained a very holier-than-thou attitude. Food was crappy, unprofessional, rude customer service was even worse. Never coming back and definitely don't recommend. read more

Gosh. This was a let down. The wait was long, but we looked over the menu while we waited. They have a smooth system so you get a buzzer. The food was mediocre. The omelettes were not good. Maybe we made an error and they really are only good at pancakes? They coffee was weak. The service was OK, but not terribly friendly. We also were sat by a table for two with another two top pulled a few inches away. Though there were two other tables for two not right next to us, they sat another couple by us right after us. That couple ended up having a fight/tough conversation. It was so uncomfortable for all of us. We couldn't not hear them, as the tables were side by side. This colored the experience, though the mediocre food left enough of an impression. read more

Obviously a hot spot with heavy tourist traffic in Waikiki. We paid $7.00 for 2 hour parking, because we were told by the staff that there was a 1 hour wait. At 2.5 hours, we were 12th on the list. We watched several parties greater than 4 people that arrived and checked in after us be seated prior to our party of 2. They have an advanced computer system for check in and notification for seating, to be this inaccurate in advising wait times. I believe they seated larger parties in hopes for larger commissions. We left and went to another highly recommended spot Sweet E's for the second time during our trip. Waited 15 minutes. Would NOT recommend Eggs and Things.Mac Nut pancakes were the hope. It was a bust. If you just have to go to ENT, I recommend setting your appointment as discussed in other reviews here so you don't get lost in waiting queue.
