Hawaiian Sweet Bread French Toast with Strawberries

This is the second location we tried and it's just as impressive as the location in Waikiki. The service was quick, helpful and friendly. The restaurant was clean and has significantly more seating and space than the Waikiki location. But most importantly, the food was delightfully delicious with generous portions for the whole family. We love their food presentation; specifically when there is fruit involved in the dish. Their Açaí bowls are little rainbows of fresh, sweet, color. And their whipped cream was also fresh, rich and velvety. All of it was YUMMY!

Haven't been here in years and wanted to have a quick breakfast. It wasn't busy and I was seated immediately. I placed my order and the wait wasn't very long. I ordered the ENT Pineapple-Honey Chicken n Waffles. It was alright. I would've preferred to have a jar of syrup at the table because the syrup given on the plate wasn't enough. Upon receiving the check, I was surprised that they included Kamaaina/Military discount at 7am-12pm and that there was a 3% kitchen service charge. Inside was clean and service was good. Overall, it was an alright experience. I ate and was full.

IMO - best tasting loco moco out there! It's all in the gravy. potatoes are nice and crispy too with omelets. The kids had pancakes and mopped them all up, so they must've been good too.

Pretty busy on a rainy Friday morning, but we were seated right away. Service was perfect and very attentive. We ate with a toddler and they sate us in a comfortable booth in the corner. Ordered the Portuguese Omelette (sausage, spinach, cheese and onions) the onions were raw and sliced. Wish they were cooked/grilled and diced or at least smaller. Got the omelette with a short stack; other options were rice or seasoned potatoes. I thought a short stack was 2 pancakes, but we got 3! Yum ! Bathrooms were clean and parking is plentiful. Lots of Aloha spirit, tourists and locals enjoy this spot.

Ordered a loco moco to be delivered and the patty was fully undercooked. Didn't realize until after a few bites. Hopefully I don't get sick!

Good timing to get here at 11:30am because I didn't have to wait in line and my niece was on her way. Drank coffee until she arrived (the staff was amazing and entertaining). When my niece arrived we ordered. I had corned beef hash and scrambled eggs and my niece had the minced vegan patty with home fried potatoes. Eggs 'n Things still makes da best breakfasts.

On our Hawaii trip we stopped at one of the eggs n things locations and we were so happy we did! The portions were very generous and the food was made to perfection. Definitely try the adobo fried rice when you visit. The restaurant was very clean and our servers were welcoming and attentive to our needs!

I was back in Hawaii, and remembering the great meal I had here last time, I decided to come back. I got here a few minutes after seven on a Wednesday morning, and it was not busy at all..... as always, the place is bright and clean, and everybody was very friendly... This time, I decided to go for the Kal-bi short rib, with eggs and rice. The food came quick, and once again, it was amazing. The rib was tender, marinated very well, and absolutely delicious. The eggs were perfectly done, as was the generous portion of rice. It also came with a side order of kimchi. I almost asked him to leave it off, as I normally don't care for kimchi, because every time I've had it, it was very spicy. My server told me that this kimchi was not spicy, I decided to try it, and I am glad I did. It was absolutely delicious, tender, and it had just the tiniest hint of spice. Just enough that I barely noticed it. It didn't look like a big plate of food when he brought it, but it was a very generous portion. I did not leave hungry. As always, the coffee was also very good, and they kept my cup full. Prices are just a tiny bit on the higher end, but extremely reasonable for what you get. There is a small up charge if you pay with credit/debit, but they clearly make that known when you check out. Thank you again for a great meal,

David M.

Easy parking. Fast ordering and pickup. Yummy food. Good portions. Sometimes quality not the best.

Very busy location with good food and plenty of seating. I had the ribeye steak & eggs with a short stack of pancakes. Coconut syrup was a great local taste on top of my pancakes. Coffee was good, service very friendly and decent based on how busy they were. I wanted a refill on my coffee and had to go to counter to make request, not knowing my waiter was aware and was just waiting on a fresh pot. Great service but could have been better if communicated more verbally. 3.5 stars rounded up to 4 due to the Aloha spirit and local vibes. Definitely will be back again!

Idk why I've never yelped this place but this was maybe my 4th of 5th visit to Eggs 'n Things. I usually bring family or friends here who visit us from the mainland but today's visit was just my husband and I. We were looking for someplace to eat that would kill time while we waiting for Ala Moana to open and decided on Eggs 'n Things. Tons of free parking and they offer waitlist service via yelp app. Party of 2 and zero wait :) Provided with water and drink order taken immediately upon being seated. Their menu is extensive and they offer typical breakfast items (i.e., pancakes, waffles, omelette) plus local favorites (i.e., fried rice, loco moco). My husband and I decided to share and chose the breakfast meat n eggs which comes with 2 eggs and your choice of spam, Portuguese sausage, chicken apple sausage, pork links, bacon, ham, turkey bacon, corned beef hash, or vegan patty plus a starch which could be rice, breakfast hash, or short stack of buttermilk pancakes. We chose Portuguese sausage with rice and two over easy eggs. Eggs were cooked perfectly. 4 large slices of Portuguese sausage were delicious with a hint of heat/spiciness and that true smokey portuguese sausage flavor. Rice seemed dry like they didn't add enough water in the rice pot! We also decided on the 3 strawberry crepes. Ok, so here's where the WTF begins. 3 large crepes served rolled and topped with thin slices of strawberries then sprinkled with powdered sugar. Looks pleasant buttttt that's about it. The crepes were like pancakes or thinner pancakes but thick crepes. We also tasted cinnamon so we're thinking they must add that to their crepe batter!? These weren't the typical French origin crepes that are thin, delicate, with a hint of sweetness that were used to. These were bad! We'd probably return but we would most def stay away from ordering crepes ever again!

Irma K.

Everything we ordered was delicious and the portions were definitely shareable if you like or if you're hungry will fill you up! The servers were all nice and friendly. We had about 3 different workers helping us. There is indoor seating available to enjoy your breakfast with family and friends. Clean place located by Ala Moana Center. This is one of our go to for breakfast when in Honolulu.

Barbara D.

Used to be my favorite breakfast spot! What happened, Eggs n things? The service went downhill! I don't feel the aloha when I walk through the doors anymore. More like angry auntie greeting you and telling you to wait outside rudely. The wait is brutal even when you get yourself on waitlist. Total wait time for us was over an hour and 20 min for our food. I also had to ask for a refill for my coffee- nobody came around! Such a bummer because I really loved this location. They had top notch service here but I guess it's hard to find good people nowadays.

Typical American diner which serves eggs, pancakes, waffles and sausages/pork chop/corn beef hash etc Famous for their pancakes and gave it a try with the banana pancake with whipped cream. It was decent. But I am not into the thick style of pancake and prefer mine to be fluffy and light Must admit the sausages were tasty. Pork chops were the lean type. The maple syrup and coconut syrup was the best thing that deserves a special mention Overall might not go back as there are other venues we want to visit during our stay in Honolulu read more

First time here with my friend and I loved it! The wait wasn't that long considering we were there by 11:45. The service was really good, the manager was our waiter. You HAVE to try the iced sweetened cappacuino it tastes SO DELICIOUS! The papaya bowl with yogurt and fruits were pretty good too. Overall my experience here was really good. Potatoes were yummy which impressed me too :) 10/10 recommend if you want breakfast at any time of the day! They also have lunch specials after 12pm and are open till 10! read more

Solid diner food, good service. Definitely deserving of four stars--I don't quite understand the lower overall average. Are people are expecting the fine dining and the best food they've ever had? Its a really solid diner serving up good breakfast food. Very accommodating to my kids. They split a pancake stack with fresh whipped cream and strawberries--the pancakes were light and fluffy and just sweet enough. Even my wife had a hard time not reaching over for the kids food. My wife and I each had omelettes, which were well done. I really prefer the thin style omelettes, where you get egg and filling on each bite, not the type where its thick eggs with hardly any filling. Eggs 'n Things does it right. Good overall service as well--drinks were promptly and continuously refilled. Always a good sign. I would definitely go back next time in Oahu and looking for a good, hearty breakfast. read more

Service was great. I'd rate it a solid 6/10. Macadamia Pancakes we're supposedly rated as their popular dish but I thought it was overrated lol. They were just regular pancakes with macadamia nuts. I was expecting the pancake to be a macadamia nut flavor. Benedict's we're alright & chicken wings were a bit too salty! read more

I ordered online with Uber eats and my food was under cooked. I did not receive my coffee or my maple syrup which I paid extra for. I wouldn't normally complain but what kind of breakfast place serves a waffle with no butter or maple syrup? The real crime here. As long as you join the waitlist at least an hour before you want to eat, you will be good to go for a table. However, extremely overpriced for mediocre food. My friend and I's bill was nearly $65 including tip. I got the turkey bacon, cheese, and tomato omelette which was good but nothing special. What really brought this review down to 2 stars was the "fresh fruit" bowl that cost $8.50 and was nowhere near fresh. The fruit was at least a few days old, and disgusting. Overall, decent for the proximity to our condo but would not go back. read more

Sunday mornings here is very busy and parking is limited. Staff is pleasant and service is usually fast. The fact that it is close to Ala Moana makes helps to keep it on our list for breakfast. Today they has creeps with mangoes and sour cream. Hubby had that. It looked better than it tasted. The mangoes were a bit tart. I'm a pancake person and the pancakes here are nothing to write home about. I'm still looking for the best pancake place in town. read more

LOCATION: In a little complex on the makai/kokohead corner of Piikoi and Kona Streets This place is easy to find. Parking is adequate. ATMOSPHERE: Clean, well appointed, and always busy. It has a friendly , lively atmosphere to it. SERVICE: Drop a star. Brand new hostess was asked for some cream for our coffee. She got the cream and delivered it to an adjacent table and walked away. She was new, so I was willing to overlook it. However the waitress had to be asked for water and coffee refills a couple of times during the meal and never did stop by to ask if everything was all right, or if we needed anything. PRICE: Ouch but worth it. Figure on $20 to get full. QUALITY: The loco moco was yummy and fillling. The omelette was also decent. Portions adequate. OVERALL: Service lackluster to poor. Pricey but overall experience not bad. read more

This is practicing covid 19 procedures, The wait wasn't too bad, we waited 45 minutes on a friday though. I believe that the restaurant looks clean for the most part and the servers are dressed professionally and appropriately. I ordered an appetizer and it came out with my food, which is very odd. I also ordered some strawberry pancakes with the Jr's Pork Adobo fried rice. The food was fantastic but the server (Jirus) we had was very rude. When he gave me my food he had missed a couple things I asked for. I didn't get any syrup or ketchup with my potatoes. I kept asking the server (Jirus) if i could get some and he just kept giving me the finger. He was placing his finger in my face as well while we were ordering. Overall food is great, the service was not good. Did not leave a tip and will not be coming back. Thanks Jirus read more

This used to be my favorite breakfast place when I lived on Oahu. The location in Piikoi is new to me, but the food is basically the same. The sweet bread French toast was excellent once topped with their coconut syrup. The eggs Benedict was "the best I've ever had", according to my daughter. The only bummer is that there are no substitutions, and we wanted to pay extra for some banana macadamia nut pancakes. Oh well. read more

Came here on a Saturday morning and waited for about 30 mins before being seated. The atmosphere was nice and bright with friendly waiters. I ordered the Hawaiian Loco Moco and my girlfriend order the French toast. I was probably one of the better loco mocos that I've had. So we ate at Eggs n Things for the first time, and I will say that I highly enjoyed it. We didn't go in at a peak time (645a), but I'm very excited that I found a place to eat that's conveniently located right next to my school. The atmosphere is very charming. The place is very clean and very bright with its cheery yellow walls. Our waiter was very nice and attentive as well. I had the turkey bacon and egg whites with brown rice. My cousin had a loco mock with scrambles eggs. The good was very good. I'm not too fond of brown rice, but there rice was nice. Also the prices aren't too bad. It was about 10 bucks a plate, and I was full after. All in all, it was a great place that I will def come back for more. I wanna try the waffles and pancakes next. They look good! read more

Arrived at around 11 am to eggs n things . The wait to be seated was about five minutes which wasn't to bad. After being sat though it took around 10-15 minutes just to be greeted and for waters to be given. We took a good look at the menu and had waited kind of long to get our order put in as well. When the food actually came out it was displayed very nicely and smelt great. As I looked around at each persons food I noticed how good the presentation of each dish actually was. I was very pleased with my meal cause it tasted very well. Besides the service it was a pretty good place to eat overall. To be honest though I had no idea who was our server the whole time and never had my water refilled. There was even a guy placing orders on his phone which I found very odd technique. I guess this is the future though? Don't forget to show your hawaii id for kamaaina discount! read more

Had dinner here for the first time and it was cute! It reminded me of a Zippy's, but more catered toward breakfast. My friend and I came to an epiphany: is it called eggs n things because there's eggs in everything? I had the plantation iced tea (yumm!), fried saimin with spam and veggies in it, a side of greens accompanied it with pineapple vinaigrette, my friend ordered the special french toast and the eggs benny. We devoured everything and I had food to take home! (Always a plus). Overall, not bad for a chill date or just spending time with friends. read more

Breakfast for Dinner. I don't know if any other combination of words could make my heart melt more. Eggs and Things has really come a long way since their origins on the outskirts of Waikiki, but they still deliver a great breakfast any time of day plus some great entrees for those who feel they need something more substantial at lunch or dinner. The portions are healthy but not too much, and the quality is solid. My favorites are their omelets and pancakes, but the spam fries make a nice pupu too. You can get booze here too, which makes for an interesting pairing with your waffle. Always solid, higher prices, but I feel it's justified with the portion size. Pro tip: skip the crowds and go at night. read more

The haupia was complementary and it was soft and delicious - not too sweet. Service was quick and friendly. They explain how to eat each dish and what to pair it with. I was looking forward to eating at Helena's Hawaiian Food, but unfortunately my experience with the…read moreservice was incredibly disappointing. When ordering, I mentioned that I probably wouldn't be able to finish all of my food and would take the rest to go. Because I said that, I was told I would NOT be allowed to eat inside the restaurant and that my entire order had to be takeout. I was honestly shocked. I was a paying customer ordering a full meal and simply said I would take whatever I couldn't finish with me--which is something people do at restaurants every day. I even added a 20% tip to my order. I tried to explain the misunderstanding at the front counter. I explained that I absolutely wanted to eat my meal there; I was only saying that because I knew I wouldn't be able to finish everything, I wanted to take my leftovers with me afterward. The employee at the front counter with tattoos refused to hear my explanation. Her answer was completely black-and-white: either my order was "to go" OR I could eat it there. There was no willingness to listen to what I was actually saying or resolve what should have been a very simple misunderstanding. Their customer service model simply doesn't make any sense to me. Why should a paying customer be forced to choose between eating their entire meal inside or ordering everything to go simply because they know in advance that they'll need a container for their leftovers? Taking home food you don't finish is an ordinary part of dining at a restaurant. I wasn't asking for anything unusual or special. I simply wanted to sit down, eat the food I had purchased, and take whatever I couldn't finish with me afterward. The interaction felt unnecessarily rude and incredibly unwelcoming. I had specifically come here because I wanted to experience a well-known local Hawaiian restaurant, and instead I was made to feel like I wasn't welcome to sit down and eat the food I had just purchased--even after leaving a 20% tip. Unfortunately, I never even got the opportunity to enjoy the restaurant because of how I was treated. Very disappointing experience and definitely not the kind of hospitality I expected.

Our server was very helpful and even brought out a pamphlet explaining each dish. After reading it over, the three of us decided to each try one of the signature Hawaiian combo plates. LAU LAU COMBO (PORK) - 22.99 + poi + lomi salmon The set came out in cafeteria-style trays, almost like a grade school lunch. Our server recommended eating the main entree and lomi salmon with poi, a fermented taro paste. Judging by how it looked, I thoroughly expected the poi to be sweet, but it was actually much more sour, almost like yogurt. I didn't enjoy it too much on its own, but it worked incredibly well with the pork lau lau. The pork was mostly tender and juicy, with a fragrant, leafy steamed flavor that reminded me of the Chinese zong zi my mom makes. The leaner parts of the pork were a bit dry, but the steamed taro leaves helped. The lomi salmon (salted salmon mixed with onions and tomatoes) was refreshing, although the pungent raw onions were a bit much for me. The 'uala (steamed sweet potatoes) had a natural, earthy sweetness that we all enjoyed. Lastly, the haupia (coconut pudding) was incredibly tasty, with a strong coconut flavor that made me sad when I took my last bite. One of my friends got the chicken lau lau, which we actually enjoyed even more. The chicken was delicious, and there was so much of it. Overall, we enjoyed getting to try some authentic Hawaiian dishes at Highway Inn, especially our server and the pamphlet gave us a better understanding of what we were eating.

The rice wasn't great since it was a bit mushy and clumpy, but the star of the show was the fresh tuna. The "old school" ahi was my favorite for its simplicity and addictive sesame flavor. I recently visited this restaurant with high hopes, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a series of letdowns. Here are the three things I never thought I would experience at a restaurant: Waitlist Woes: We followed the recommended process and checked in on Yelp's waitlist. However, upon arrival, we had to endure an additional 45-minute wait, well beyond the estimated time provided. The lack of proper communication was frustrating. Mismanagement Mishaps: After patiently waiting and finally moving to second in line, we were shocked to witness three different parties being seated ahead of us. Bewildered, we approached the staff for an explanation, only to be told we had to check in again. The lack of organization and clarity was unacceptable. Disappointing Service and Food: The servers seemed disinterested and barely acknowledged our presence. We had to repeatedly initiate contact for basic requests. My order of steak and eggs, specifically requested medium rare, arrived barely cooked, resembling a rare, purple slab. I did something I'd never do I had to request to cook it more . Regrettably, they burnt it to a well-done state. It was an abysmal culinary experience. Leaving the restaurant, I felt compelled to share my honest feedback. My first negative Yelp review, I found it necessary to recount this particular incident. In conclusion, this was by far the worst service I have ever encountered, and I have no intention of returning to this establishment. I hope that my review serves as constructive criticism for the restaurant to improve their service and prevent others from having a similarly disappointing experience read more

Tryna get seated at the Waikiki locations always seems sort of daunting, so this Ala Moana location was the perfect place to finally try out Eggs 'n Things!! Went for dinner with the bf; I got the $11.95 veggie omelet (spinach, zucchini, cheese, & mushrooms) with a side of potatoes (but I could have picked a pancake or rice instead if I wanted to), and the bf got the $13.45 eggs benedict (also with a choice of side). My omelet was delicious, and the boyfriend definitely liked the eggs benedict. The potatoes we both had were alright, but they were just lightly seasoned potatoes; nothing too amazing. Sadly, we didn't actually try any of the pancakes or waffles...the plan was to try one of the pancake desserts, but we ended up not getting it because our server brought the check too soon and since we had been sort of on the fence about getting more food and didn't want to make him re-do our bill, we just ended up passing. Speaking of service: The host was a little aloof about seating us, but he might have been worried about cashing out a guy who wanted to pay and leave. Our actual server, while nice and friendly, always seemed to be on fast forward or semi in a rush every time he spoke. But I do have to say that it was really cool to see that they take orders on iTouches! Way to be modern guys! I want to go back one day soon for the actual pancakes/waffles...they sounded so good! read more

I have frequented this establishment on multiple occasions; however, I must express my disappointment with the lack of professionalism exhibited during our most recent visit. The server who attended to our table appeared unfriendly and unhelpful. We made a simple request for water, but received no response as the server simply walked away. Additionally, despite multiple reminders, our order for a side of spam was overlooked and not served. This lack of attentiveness persisted even when we requested the check from another server who, rather than providing prompt service, expressed displeasure through eye rolling and failed to deliver the check in a timely manner. Furthermore, upon reviewing the bill, we discovered that we were still charged for the missing spam. When we brought this to the attention of our original server and informed her of the situation, her response was dismissive and accompanied by an attitude, asking if we wanted it removed from the bill. In summary, the overall service provided at this establishment fell far short of the expected standards of professionalism. read more

Came in today for Father's Day breakfast because my dad was craving waffles. Arrived at 8 am to a short waitlist and was notified soon after via text. First off, service was excellent, our server was helpful with ordering and checked on us often as he made his rounds. Portions were generous and atmosphere was great. In addition to the waffles, we ordered a fried rice, the omelet special, two coffees and a tea. The only reason I can't give this 5-stars is because of the price. Our meal was $75, and with tip $90. For a special occasion like today, no problem. But would I become a weekly regular? Sorry, no, not for $30 per head. Local people say that this restaurant is for tourists and the pricing definitely reflects this. I would say that these are Waikiki prices... but it's not in Waikiki. I would suggest a Kamaaina discount, or just lower the prices- there's no rule that says every location has to have the same prices. Or maybe we're just not their target customer, which I totally understand as well. read more

I was at Eggs'n Things for Breakfast with my classmates (about 10 persons) and the restaurant was quiet full of people. Nevertheless we got seated after maybe 5 Minutes. The service is very gentil and made a funny ambiente. They tipe your order in kind of a smartphone what is uncommon but seems to work quiet well. We waited for our 10 meals about 10-15 minutes but the waiting was worth it because we got a huge punch of food on the table. I wasn't able to have lunch that day because i just was to filled up with eggs and things ;). Concerning prices we paied 15-20 dollars per person depending on what was individually chosen for drink. You also don't have to care about tip because it's already added to the bill. The restaurant is well made up with lots of warm colours. Overall very good service, food and ambiente. For an established restaurant, the service was absolutely horrible. Although it appeared some of the staff was new, their should not have been a lapse in service. I also happened to overhear staff members in confusion over which person should be servicing which tables. Food was really good. What I love about this place is you order at the front, pay at the front and then sit down to wait for your food. Your food only takes 2min to get to your table. read more

Nice, steady place to eat in Honolulu. I like coming here because it's simple and the people are kind. I always order the Loco Moco, it's a good size and the gravy is tasty. read more

Cafe Kaila is a great, cute spot for brunch. They serve classic breakfast dishes along with lunch…read moreoptions that start at 11am, and the selection is solid--especially if you have a sweet tooth. My personal favorite is the French toast, which you can top with a mix of banana, blueberries, and strawberries for an extra $3-5. They also offer special off-menu sweet treats like cornbread waffles and banana bread French toast. We haven't tried those yet but plan to next time. We've been here a handful of times and it's becoming our go-to brunch place. I usually order the frittata omelette, which comes loaded with onions, mushrooms, and your choice of meat or mixed vegetables, plus a side of really good roasted potatoes. On our most recent visit we went for a combo to balance sweet and savory: soft scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, and two big slices of French toast with strawberries. It was delicious. We also ordered the pastrami eggs Benedict with sides of fried rice and roasted potatoes. We both left completely full and not at all disappointed. The staff is extremely friendly, and there's plenty of seating. It does get busy (there's usually a waitlist because it's popular), but in all our visits the wait has never been more than 10-15 minutes. Highly recommend for a solid, satisfying brunch

One of the wife's co-workers recommended this breakfast spot. We liked it so much the first time…read morethat we ended up going back the next day. On the first day we were seated at about the middle of the restaurant and had a server that was friendly and attentive. I ordered the Eggs Benedict which for some reason has Turkey as well as Canadian Bacon and ended up being pretty good. The wife got the Kalua Pork Eggs Benedict and we split a short stack of pancakes. As I previously noted we really liked it and since we were struggling to find a breakfast spot for the next day we decided to go back. However this time we were seated in the back of the restaurant and the experience was completely different. We placed our orders and after that were pretty much ignored by our server, (a teenage looking male). I ordered an iced tea and for some reason they bring it to you without sugar, (this happened both times). The pancakes were delivered without butter and I wanted Tabasco for my eggs. So since our server wasn't coming around, I got up and asked someone for help. The server showed up and I asked him for the sugar, butter and Tabasco. He brought them to us and just dropped them on the table without saying a word. He never checked on us or came back around. After we finished eating a woman came around and brought us our check. I asked to speak to a manager and she said she was the manager. I told her that we had been there the day before and had a great experience, but on this day the service really left something to be desired. Our server seemed to have a bit of an attitude. She apologized and brought the check back and said that she had taken my iced tea off the bill. I appreciated the gesture, but really? Taking about $3 off the bill? Not very generous. Bottom line is that the food is good here, but make sure you do not get seated in the back of the restaurant as it seems like that means you're going to be ignored.

We arrived around 9ish (mid week). There was about a 5-10 min wait time (not bad considering this place is pretty popular among locals). Staff were friendly and attentive. And the beach vibe was definitely chill and laid back. Our food was delivered freshly hot and in a timely manner (very grateful for that). Of course my wife ordered the famous lilikoi pancakes- they were light and fluffy and topped with an amazing passion fruit sauce 10/10! I don't normally eat a short stack of pancakes, but that lilikoi sauce was fire!!! I ordered the moké nui omelette- it had bacon, ham, spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, onions, and cheese! It was very hearty! And the hashbrowns were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside (just the way I like it). My kids shared the sunrise breakfast- (2) pancakes, (2) eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, and toast! Overall, we had an absolute divine dining experience! If we ever come back to the island (which we will), this will definitely be on our list of places to revisit. Mahalo!

Noticeably smaller. There was still plenty enough to split between 3 people, but when I compared our portion to several tables around us, felt like we were gypped. Cons- this place can get really busy depending on when you go. It could also be far, depending on where you are staying too.

We loved the idea of this quirky place and ate there twice. The first meal was perfect- great…read moreservice, delicious food, plenty to take home. Recommend the tacos! The second time, the food was also good but here's where our problem came in: our appetizer of chicken wings (delicious! we had them both nights!) was no sooner put down on our small table when out came our entrees. There wasn't really room for all of the dishes and I had to do some creative stacking. Now we had the choice of either eating our hot appetizers (and who wants to eat cold chicken wings?) or letting our entrees get cold while we ate the wings. Speaking to our server about our displeasure really gave us no satisfaction. She basically shrugged that that sometimes happens. We had specifically asked for the wings to come our as our appetizers. She told us that Japanese diners like to share their plates so they are used to bringing everything out at once. I have to say, I understood what she was saying but she did not have any empathy with our frustration at having to eat cold food. So here's my tip: go to Goofy's. The food is really really good. But if you order an appetizer, make it very clear to your server that you want that to come our well before your mains. Also, to Goofy's: a little empathy can go a long way to defuse a perceived slight by a customer.

We may give breakfast a try and see how that compares. For now, though, the original Goofy's was way better.
