I've been coming to this restaurant for years and I found out a couple fun facts. It used to be located near Ena road. It relocated but it did more than that, they now have 3 locations in Waikiki. From loco moco to eggs with fried rice down to the amazing fluffy and spongy pancakes with maple, guava, or coconut syrup, this restaurant will provide you with a light or hearty selection from their menu. I am a fan of the Portuguese sausage omelet with added cheddar cheese. The eggs are perfectly fluffy and filled with chopped Portuguese sausage! The country potatoes that I ordered as a side, it was crispy crunchy on the outside and delicate inside! They do potatoes right! This is usually one of the places my wife and drop by on our visits to Waikiki, but now will have to cross off our list of places to eat. Last night we walked in and were told the upstairs room is closed. The only seats available were in the downstairs area. The only seats we could choose from were in the direct sunlight. I guess business is so slow that they opt not to use the larger comfortable area upstairs. We were able to switch to another table, but we had to be a bit protective. I was looking forward to their Loco Moco. It is your standard burger patty over rice with a fried egg on top (they put a double egg on top). The brown gravy they use have onions, mushrooms and Portuguese sausage cut in. It has been quite delicious in the past. My wife and I ordered one order each. Our order came in small paper bowls, and my burger was burnt. Not sure if it was a patty that was sitting around for a while and recooked several times, or it was just burnt. I was starving, and my wife"s order came out okay, so I didn't complain. I also felt that the staff really didn't care. I feel that the restaurant changes into a third rate version of itself after 2PM trading only on it's name. Small portions, paper plates, plastic utensils, possibly using leftovers from the morning instead of fresh food, and to insult to injury, there is an extra $.75 surcharge for each dish after 4PM. The only upside was using the the ID card app to get 20% off. I will say the new guy was nice. After I went up to them to get more water, he was willing to bring us more water afterwards. He may be the only redeeming factor at this place. It may be different in the morning, but I don't think we will ever be returning. It's too bad. I use to look forward to coming here. Second trip here- we came back to Oahu and decided to give this place a second chance as the manager had asked us to do in the previous review. I ordered the eggs Benedict with no hollandaise sauce. My husband ordered the Loco Moco. Our food came out and my eggs Benedictcame out with hollandaise sauce on it and I said I ordered no hollandaise. So he took it back and it didn't come out for 20 minutes. My husband finished his whole meal and we still were waiting for me food. We basically took turns watching each other eat. The bill came and they didn't remove it from the bill. Not trying to be cheap but that's bad customer service. Our server was nice though. Positive thing is they have fresh squeezed juices so that was a plus! Oh they don't allow you to bring in coffee. They asked to take it away and hold it for us. Well now that we've been here a second time there WILL NOT be a third time. First visit here-I ordered an omelette and asked for it to be scrambled and the waiter said that they can't scramble it. I said u can't just mix it up? He said no we don't do that but that I can order another item and customize it so that I can have my SCRAMBLED OMELETTE. Would have left if we weren't hungry. I also got orders of pancakes and they were the fluffiest pancakes I ever had and they have three different types of syrup they have maple syrup guava syrup and coconut syrup which was one of my favorites. With parking it was pretty good because you can park across the street in the post office late you have to pay. read more
