Great place to stop and get breakfast. We went there early in the morning on Sunday and the only reason they had a line was because they didn't have a ton of servers but the ones that were there did a great job. The prices are reasonable in about $20 per person not including coffee or drinks. The food was great, it's upstairs so you get a nice little view and get to feel the weather. This is my first time going, and I will definitely return.

Well, it wasn't the best breakfast I've had but it wasn't bad. Service was a bit slow and waiter seemed a bit disorganized (he forgot about our table at the end so we finally went up to the desk to ask for our bill). Was a bit hot inside but not too bad. Overall next time I'd skip the wait here and explore someplace new to me; there are a lot of breakfast spots in the area.

After hearing and seeing all the hype , the girls decided we will give this famous breakfast spot a try. We first went to another location closer to the resort and the host was so rude , we walked away and found this location on Yelp. I was able to use Yelp to get on the waitlist which helped shaved 29 mins off ( thankssss) Everyone at this location was friendly and engaging. I loved that this one was 2 stories with an open balcony . We ordered coffee , teas and brunch and everything was incredibly delicious that we took a to go order as well ! Mahea was our server and was such a good vibe ! We loved her !!! 10/10 all around !

This location is not my favorite; I prefer Ala Moana, but today they were closed because their power was out. The Saratoga location is smaller and parking is more difficult. I end up having to pay at the post office nearby, and the smallest number of hours you can pay for is 2 hours at over $11, so it's a ridiculous charge for parking in my opinion--and Ala Moana has free parking in their lot. Strike two: there's not only a 3% kitchen surcharge but also a 3% credit card surcharge. Why not just charge more for your food items and then pay the kitchen staff more/give them a raise? Ultimately it would be the same price but I will feel less like I am being nickel-and-dimed. Having multiple surcharges just feels different to me as a customer than paying more for my meal. I guess it's hidden costs versus up-front costs. In any case, you might not know about the kitchen surcharge until you get your receipt to check out. Ultimately, I always enjoy the food at Eggs 'n Things. The fresh fruit rainbow pancakes are some of my favorites, and the waffles are great too. The fruit is fresh and the whipped cream is a huge amount. But when I check out and not only am I paying $21.99 for my pancakes, $17.99 for my partner's waffle, nearly $10 for two coffees, and then 3% for kitchen staff, 3% for credit card surcharge, 4.712% Hawai'i sales tax, and now my meal is near $70, plus the parking next door for $11, a meal out for two people is getting dangerously close to a hundred bucks. I live in Waikiki and there are cheaper places for me to eat that are just as delicious. Eggs 'n Things, I've been coming here for years and I love you, but you are getting close to pricing me out for breakfast at your place.

We have been to the Eggs 'n Things in the Ko Olina location so many times (over the last 3 times we have been to Oahu); this was the first time at this location since we were staying at the Hilton Hawaiian Village. Service: The service was great. Ambiance: The ambiance was nice and clean. Food: We all got our favorites and they were great: * Pancakes with strawberries and blueberries: My younger son and wife shared this and it was delicious...very VERY generous helping of the whipped cream. * Veggie Omelette: You guessed it...I got my old favorite here (with egg whites)...it was OK (I have had better but it was a generous portion!) * Eggs and bacon: My older son got the eggs and bacon and it was tasty (per him) but the portion as you will see from the pic was small. I would recommend this location but we all preferred the Ko Olina location much more. I will give it 4 stars...you should go if you are thinking about it!

Breakfast food is delicious!!! Staff friendly. Ordered French toast and pancakes. Serving size is huge worth to share. However, you need to be really early cause long wait if you're not there prior to doors opening. Worth the place to have bfast in Waikiki.

This is a "must eat here" when in Waikiki! We were here 10 years ago and couldn't wait to return. It was just as wonderful!!! When you go ask for Jin. His personality is the best! Tye place is small and your neighbor sits close. In the Aloha spirit; just embrace it and enjoy.

Took my parents here for lunch since we haven't tried this location yet. Food: Decent but expected better from such a popular spot. Salmon Benedict was okay, sauce was a bit bland. Using taro bread was a nice touch! Omelette was good. Not too salty. Pancakes were not as fluffy as we would've liked. I've always raved about their coconut syrup. It's so good and definitely elevated the pancakes. Even my picky parents enjoyed it, which says a lot! Service: Our server was friendly & the food came out fairly quickly. We were seated on the 2nd floor on a hot day. Not ideal for open-air seating (no AC). Parking: There's no dedicated lot. They suggested parking at the post office across the street ($10 for 2 hrs); we managed to find a metered spot nearby.

2nd day in a row they gave us the wrong order. Today just gave me attitude that we didn't order what we said. Then tried to make it like it's our problem it happened 2 days Ina row! Manager could not be more bitter angry and less helpful. Will never return after 7 years of coming every day on vacation Oh and bacon burnt beyond recognition as well

Waited over our wait time and there was a lot of empty tables but we understand that there could be understaffing. Ask for countertop if you want to wait less we weren't aware you can do that. We got the macadamia nut pancakes which were regular pancakes which were a little dry plus macadamia nuts on top powered sugar we added whipped cream, these needed syrup and wish we liked them more but they were simple. The kalbi was a small portion, the eggs and rice were good. The marinated meat was flavorful but was a little touch and not as tender as others I'd had on the island. Overall we wouldn't wait for this place luckily we got on the yelp waitlist but still ended up waiting a lot longer than expected. It's a cute little spot with a lot of souvenirs you can take home which we did take home for some friends. I like the shop a lot.

There was a line but didn't have to wait that long. We went from #9 on the waitlist to #2 in about 5 minutes. I didn't realize how small and outdated the place was. It needs a total makeover! Esp the single seating, they were basically facing an empty boring wall Staff super friendly. Food came fast but it was just ok. Nothing to write home about. The hyped up fried rice I read about on the other reviews was nothing to hype about ‍ We deconstructed the rainbow pancakes bec we wanted to taste the macadamia nut pancakes on its own. A little disappointing but we still ate it :) 4 stars for the staff. 3 stars for the Food and 1 star for the ambiance.

Cute place, not a fan of the omelette. It had a rubbery taste . Hubby's ribeye, and eggs under seasoned. Definitely not worth the wait. If you go here, go with the pancakes Nice and fluffy. If you could see the pictures below, you would notice my plate has different potatoes as my neighbors which I found very odd, mine were frozen, and hers were fresh. Great breakfast spot if you're looking for diner type food with some Aloha. My go-to is the Kailua Pork Benny on a taro roll. Definitely get on the Yelp waitlist before you head over. I usually have a 20-30 min wait, but it's worth it. read more

The receptionist of this popular restaurant is great. He made sure that those people waiting in line are informed about their wait. Our breakfast is really good, and looks good, too! (See the photo!) My only slight criticism is our waiter. He seemed so depressed with low energy. It's nor really an issue as he tended to our needs but when you're catering to tourists, you really have to make an effort to put up a "front". I would have given this restaurant a five-star rating but because of the waiter, I can only give four stars. But overall, it's good! read more

10 min wait yet when we got upstairs there were multiple open tables. Andrew our waiter did great job. Ordered strawberry whip pancakes. You get 6 huge pancakes. I could only eat one Husband got pineapple sour cream crepes and struggled to eat them all. While they tasted good going down can't say the same about coming up. Place is very noisey. We didn't make a reservation, but thankfully there was a wait list we were able to join online. Seems to be a shop and the bathroom on the first floor and then the actual restaurant on the second floor. Once we got up there, the server took our order and the food came out quickly! The pancake was huge and very filling, I could only eat 2 before getting full, so I took the rest to go. While it was great for the most part, we felt very rushed. I understand they were very busy but we got our food and then what felt like 10 minutes later, we were asked if we wanted a box and our check already. We had barely even ate our food yet! Nevertheless, I understand they are fast paced and want to get things done quick. Overall, would definitely come back and try some new foods. read more

So amazing. My husband and I just spend time in Hawai'i for our honeymoon and we're looking for a fun place for breakfast. We searched up on yelp and this place is highly rated, and definitely for a reason. It tends to be on a wait so check in with yelp to get on the list. Once you're sat, the service and food are amazing. It's inside/outside so you can feel a nice breeze no matter the seat! Just a super great experience so we went twice during our trip. I would give a negative 5 stars if I can. Rude staff, the manager was even worse. After we were seated for approximately 15 min without service, not even water, I told the manager we've been waiting for about 15 min. We didn't even get an apology. She actually had the audacity to come back to me and said "You've waited only 14 minutes." Stay away from this horrid place. Full of attitudes from the top down. read more

Food itself was ok, the coffee was not good at all but more than anything this may have been one of the dirtiest places I have eaten, almost causing us to leave before we were seated. This place needs a thorough deep cleaning from the bottom level to the top floor. The staff were ok but not well trained and served my meal over 5 minutes before my pregnant wife's meal. read more

Everything about this place was amazing. The staff here is so welcoming it's uncanny and they are so prompt. Even with how packed and crowded the restaurant gets they are all so hard working and friendly. The inside of the restaurant has a decent amount of seating, but if you don't have a reservation there can be a bit of a wait time. The food here is outstanding. Spam and eggs & the kalbi and eggs were our favorite items. It was so simple but delicious. The island fried rice and the kalua pig benedict were pretty good as well. read more

I signed up to the waitlist two times over the 40 minutes I was made to wait. The host Edwin pointedly ignored us and refused even to make eye contact. Other guests arrived after us and were seated multiple times. I travel to Waikiki every year for convention business and will make sure all attendees and coworkers are aware. read more

Amazing food! I will def come back for the food and ambience! Everything came out around the same time and it was all fresh! Here are the food verdicts: Kalbi and eggs (5/5) - tender and juicy kalbi with tasty kimchi! I got my egg over medium and they were perf for the kalbi. I love getting kalbi in HI whenever I can, it is so good here! Hawaiian pancake sampler (5/5) - or should I smack-cular! It includes macadamia nut pancake, pineapple pancake, and coco pancake with a heaping pile of non melting whipped cream, and not to mention super pretty and aesthetic! I wish I could have that every morning, they put fresh pineapples too! Omelette (5/5) - the omelette was pretty bomb not gonna lie! I think my fam added extra stuff like bacon and mushroom, it was a big omelette which satisfied our tastebuds. Crab cake benedict (4/5) - It tasted amazing! My fam does not like very runny egg yolk, but I think it would do good to get over easy eggs (we got over medium for it) if you get the taro bread. There is just too much bread for the benedict, so getting more runny eggs can be good so you can use the taro bread to scoop up the excess runny yolk and enjoy it! My fam left like half a bread bc there was nothing else to eat it with. Overall a 5 star review from me and my family! Would def recommend the kalbi and eggs to anyone! read more

Heard many great things about this place and so my family decided to visit during our vacation. Arrived at 7:20 AM and still had a 15min wait although no one was there. Before seating us, I overheard the employees in the check in area taking very inappropriately about "the food we serve is here is pure garbage, we are giving everyone diabetes" to which I kinda just looked at them surprised they would be so causal about it. Flew from California to Waikiki to check out Eggs N' Things - this place was highly recommended so had to check out the Waikiki location . We waited 40 minutes for breakfast - had the Blackened Ahi which was cold, the Hawaiian fried with eggs were good and pancakes were to die for! One of my friends came late and we had sat down before she arrived so we had to pull up a chair. She was given a hard time by Ryan (the manager I believe) - rudely asked to put on a jacket as she was in a tank top, then asked to sit alone away from the rest of us because she wasn't here when we first sat down. There was absolutely no reason for this because there was several empty tables and no one was at the restaurant. Not sure why my friend was targeted, but she was only person of color present at the restaurant and the way in which Ryan was speaking to and looking at her was extremely disturbing, unwelcoming, and disrespectful. Had a wonderful experience wanted to show my wife and authentic Waikiki business from the 70s. Is it not a fancy storefront you're not paying for the building you're paying for the experience. Wonderful group of local people run a local business that serves great food at reasonable prices staff was hospitable and polite, and willing to offer suggestions for local activities. The food was very tasty. My husband got the omelet of the day, I got the spinach, bacon, and cheese omelet with potatoes and my son got a waffle topped with pineapple . We are at the bar because I accidentally booked on the wait-list of one of the other locations but they got us in quickly. Everyone showed excellent customer service and was really friendly. Definitely suggest getting here before opening or at least putting your name on the waitlist at 7AM. My boyfriend and I were doing a staycation in Waikiki and we walked from our hotel to here. I placed my name on the Yelp waitlist and we only had to wait 10 minutes after checking in with the host to be seated. Not sure if it was just us but the floors felt a bit slippery so please be careful when you're walking around! Our meals were okay - nothing special but eggs n things is a classic place if you were born and raised on island. My boyfriend is from the mainland and really liked the Kalbi, I found that I had to really chew into it and it took some effort haha. I remember when I used to take people here, and they would be impressed with the quality and quantity--plates just heaping with good cuts of meat, noodles, and rice. Those days are no more. As they say in Japan, the price performance is poor. Furthermore, their staff is rude. I can only imagine it was an owner working this day because it was a face I haven't seen that often. An older gentleman who appeared to be of Okinawan descent, working the cashier register, accosted us because I was privately discussing with my family about splitting different items with them. We were all ordering something, so he wasn't losing any money, but he told us about how prices are double in Waikīkī. First of all, it is rude to interrupt your customers that way. Secondly, we don't go to Waikīkī or care about Waikīkī. What happened to serving the locals? Third, Waikīkī has an assortment of restaurants, prices, and qualities, and they shouldn't be how you base your services. Lastly, I guarantee I could find a better deal in Waikīkī if I wanted to. Next time you're in the area, just go get a $6 bento or a $5 burrito from 7-Eleven next door. I assure you, the price performance and experience will be better. If Rainbow Drive-In is in the business of comparing themselves to other things, let's compare them to 7-Eleven and at least try to be better than them, right? I can get mochiko chicken from 7-Eleven for $6.99 that is similar in portion size and better quality. Meanwhile, they are serving their fatty, dry chicken for $16.75. Highway robbery! And they are not fancy, with their dirty picnic tables and plastic cutlery. They are just a step above a food truck, if that. Save yourself from the hype. They have gone downhill like a landslide. Tasted good but nothing past standard expectations. We let the waiter know we had a 30th birthday at the table, and they brought a couple scoops of vanilla ice cream with a candle, and did a decent job getting the whole room to participate in the singing. It could also be the type of crowd this place attracts, since it seemed that everyone was so friendly and approachable. Thanks to the quick and consistent service, we were out in a little over an hour with no complaints.

Place is a hole in the wall with missing ceiling tiles and exposed panels above our table (gross!!). Sis loves this dive so we keep coming back!

Well, the Monkeypod Kitchen Mai Tai is that "song" for me. No matter how many months pass between trips to Hawaii, it's the one thing I'm always craving. First stop after our five plus hour flight is to always sit at the bar and hum my way through a Mai Tai. We've tried competitors' Mai Tais, but Monkeypod has THE BEST Mai Tai on the island (possibly the country)! It contains a double shot of rum, so pace yourself if you're a lightweight. What makes this extraordinary is the lilikoi (passion fruit) foam on the top. It's the reason I am "passion"ately in love with this cocktail. We've eaten at a table in their main dining room, however, we really enjoy bar seating during Happy Hour, which is from 3:30pm-5:00pm, daily (except select holidays) and again from 9:00pm-11:00pm. It is first come first serve at the bar. If you prefer table seating, be sure to make a reservation. The wait can be long without one. Their Happy Hour items include all of their appetizers at half price, excluding any seafood. Cocktails are $4 off, beers $2 off, wine by the glass $3 off and the pizzas (excluding the Bourgeois) are $17. All of the items we've tried are super delicious and the bartenders are all very friendly and professional. They also provide live music daily, at 12:30pm, 3:30pm and 7:30pm. Live music always adds such a refreshing and lively atmosphere, perfect for those vacationing vibes. Cramped & uncomfortable waiting & dining areas, unpleasant noisy ambience, and VERY strictly enforced, unfriendly policies. We visited Eggs & Things Waikiki for my birthday on August 22, 2013. When we arrived at 8:30 AM, the hostess quoted us a 30-40 minute wait time, and I wasn't about to waste away any part of my beautiful birthday in paradise sitting in their over cramped waiting area, so we took a leisurely stroll to Starbucks where I got myself a delicious Venti Frappuccino to celebrate my bday. Upon returning, we waited about 20 more minutes only to be called upstairs and then they REFUSED TO SEAT US because I had my Venti Starbucks in hand, and they "don't allow outside beverages". The only options the server gave us was 1) Stand here and just down the whole thing first before they seat us, like they do with water at the airport before going thru Security (HELLO, I'm a small girl, and this drink was a Venti...I wanted to have it to enjoy over the next hour or so!), or 2) Throw my full drink away & order something from THEIR coffee bar!!! I told the server I got the Starbucks while I was stuck waiting in their line, and that it was my birthday, but he did not care and looked at our party of 2 as if we were such a huge inconvenience. He didn't even offer to package up our order to go for us. Honestly at this point due to the customer NON service, I would have liked to have just left and not given them any of our hard earned money, but since we waited so long and had plans immediately afterward, I had the idea to order & take our food to-go and eat it from our ocean view penthouse suite. It turned out to be a MUCH better idea than eating in their restaurant, which I noticed was very uncomfortable, cramped & such a noisy atmosphere. If there was music playing I could not hear it over the sounds of all the silverware clanking and the other patrons were all speaking loudly to be heard over everyone else. The Corned Beef Hash omelette and Portugese Sausage dishes we ordered were OK, though I could have made these items better myself in our own kitchenette & saved us the overpriced cost, the hassle and the inconvenience of dealing with such rigid people. The server was so rude, unfriendly and unwelcoming that I was thankful I didn't have to tip because it was a to-go order. I usually tip 20% but would have written a negative tip amount on this order if it were possible. So the moral of the story is, this is a tourist trap, highly overpriced and you will be treated like a herd of people trying to cram through airport security. I will never eat here again. Save your money and your time and go to Duke's Breakfast Buffet for all you can eat goodness, a great view, consistently awesome service & much better ambience. read more

My wife and I ate here the day after we where married as we stayed down town for the evening. It was a nice walk to the place but we didnt mind at all. As we get there about 930 or so we where told it would be a wait time of 10 or so minutes in which we both where ok with. 3 minutes later our buzzer goes off and we headed up stairs. We where seated in the back along the balcony. Now mind yoh not the greatest view but, I didnt come here for a view I came here for some good food. The service was excellent from start to finish. Even though we had our backs to where the waitress came from she was still able to get us our drinks and food with having it spilt everywhere. Which for me was very impressive because each time she came I was trying move out the way but ended up being in the way. We ordered half a papaya which very good way to start the breakfast. We both ordered iced coffee with milk. For me it was quiet strong but thats not a complaint just it was a little unexpected. For food we both ordered the portegese sausge and eggs. My wife had it with rice. I had it with the pancakes. Now for me, Im kinda a pancake snob. If the pancakes are not as good as can make at mom why even bither going to the resturant and oredering food. But I alsways have to try it where ever I go. Here at Eggs and Things, they do it right. Not to dense, not bland at all, just right. So if yoh come here expect great service and aweskme food. read more

My husband and I went visited (their new location, 343 Saratoga Rd, not 1911 Kalakaua) their new location, after going to there old location any time we were in Hawaii. We were really pleased to find, that they had the same menu and the exact same prices! The new location is a two story building, that feels like old Hawaii, they even have these great historical pictures of Hawaii throughout the restaurant. This location has a more open air feel. We actually went twice so far... once we waited with the mobs of people waiting to get in in the morning, but then we found out they just opened for dinner, from 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM, so last night we went in the evening. That's one thing great about this new location, it is much closer to the heart of Waikiki, so it was only a 10 minute walk from our hotel (Royal Hawaiian). In the evening, there was no wait, and it had a great relaxed feel. Nothing like having breakfast for dinner (only on vacation)! I would suggest trying to go in the evenings, if you need somewhere to eat that's filling, delicious, and economical. I think this won't be a well kept secret for long... I don't think many people know they don't have to wait in the morning lines, they can come back at night and just really enjoy the atmosphere. My husband fell in love with the Ahi and Eggs, so I'm sure we'll have to come back at least one more time before we go home. read more

Weirdest place I've ever eaten at. You gotta line up and someone hands you the menu and you have to decide what you want (while standing up), then tell a stationary server what you want. Then you line up and pay for your meal, then line up and wait for a table. They gave me a pager that lights up and vibrates when your food is done. You have to hold up your hand so they know where to bring the food. My pancakes came with coconut syrup and FAKE maple syrup - yeah FAKE ! Sugar syrup ! Pancakes were very tough and hard to cut. Eggs were good, but anyone can make good eggs. Then I tried to order more food but was not allowed to. Guess I had to get back in line and order more food and wait for another table. A server was tapped on the shoulder by a customer and she yelled at him NOT to do that. NO idea why they would not have a regular way of getting food to you and pay after.... it's like they don't trust anyone. Kinda like a MacDonalds way of doing it. AND, paper plates and cups and plastic utensils... screw the environment ! Oh my gods... weird place indeed. read more

This place sucks!!!! How can you have terrible service in Hawaii. My wife and I were looking for breakfast this morning and decided to try this place out as it is right down the street from the Trump Wakikki. We wait 25 mins to be seated. Once we are seated we order our food and water as well as orange juice. A minute later a rude gentlemen maybe the manager says that I can't drink Starbucks coffee inside the restaurant. Yet we I look around there are others with coffee that seems to be from outside places as well as water bottles from the Trump Hotel. When I questioned why I was being singled out the alleged manager goes well its just water. My reply was well its just coffee and I ordered another beverage which was orange juice as well as ordering about 40 bucks worth of food! Long story short we left but please don't eat here try out the Denny's on Lewers Street or Mac 24/7 these places are much friendlier. Also the Trump has a great breakfast buffett and a great staff! Couple months ago I went with a buncha friends to see what the whoop was about the hr long lines, only to find that there was no whoop. Please tourists, don't waste your time here. Locals, you already know. I dont get why people wait that long for breakfast when they can easily get it anywhere else! There's nothing special about the breakfast here. Customer service: I don't like the hosts much (who likes being yelled at or seeing japanese tourists being yelled at to get their attention). There's not much geniune aloha there. I much prefer the servers, they are much better at customer service. Food: The macadamia nut pancakes considering i don't like pancakes much. But I'm sure I can make better at home. The restaurant now feels very corporate and has lost the charm it once had. Unfortunately, the cleanliness of the establishment has taken a significant hit. The restaurant was dirty, and the bathrooms were in poor condition. The wait was incredibly long, so I highly recommend making a reservation online to avoid standing in line. Also, make sure you don't go to the wrong location. Once seated, I found the tables to be quite small, which made for an uncomfortable dining experience. The food presentation was disappointing as well. The plates were plastic and cheap, which didn't help the overall feel of the meal. I ordered the loco moco, and it was way too salty. Overall, it's sad to see how much this place has declined. I hope they can improve their standards and return to their former glory. read more

We were there for brunch, around Noon on a Wednesday. I had an omelette w/ cheese, mushrooms, and onions. My side was potatoes. My wife ordered a waffle w/ Nutella and whipped cream w/ a side of spam. My omelette was perfect. Cooked the way I liked it with just the right amount of filling. The type of potatoes weren't specified when I ordered them, but when they came, I was thrilled... they were home fries, also cooked perfectly. My wife throughly enjoyed her waffle and spam. They offered her syrup to go with her waffle, but she didn't need it, due to the sweetness of the Nutella. The only down side is that you can put your name on the waiting list online, but it doesn't seem to do any good. You get your table based on arrival. This is why I deducted one star. read more

It's a little tight inside and out but that's okay! The atmosphere is amazing, the random chickens/roosters walking around makes it even better while you wait on your table. Typically in any place where you wait for a table it takes a while, however here the turnaround is fantastic! Granted I traveled alone for a couple of days but you better believe that I dined twice here for breakfast! The employees are sweethearts and they care for you like family. I believe the manager came by my table both times I visited and even told me "hey you're back" and which I responded "of course!" If you're in Oahu, Eggs 'n Things is a must-visit! I came here for breakfast and was blown away by how good everything was. The food came out hot and fresh, the portions were generous, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming. The real star, though? The coconut syrup. Hands down one of the best things I've ever tasted, it's sweet, creamy, and adds that perfect island touch to their already amazing pancakes. I wish I could've bottled it up and taken it home! The Hawaiian chicken and waffles were absolutely delicious, and the Kalua pork Benedict with multicolored potatoes was a standout. Seating is available upstairs, with a spacious patio overlooking the street and plenty of indoor options as well. Update: the owner said to email them to let them know what happened. I emailed the email provided by owner and of course I got no response. They put in there to reach out like they care but I emailed him the same day and it's been over a week and no response. Proves my point that their customer service is horrible and treat people like crap. Take your business to other locals or even corporations who appreciate your business rather than this indifferent company/owner. The food is okay, bit overrated.... The staff were nasty and condescending on multiple occasions behind customers backs. I was wondering what was going on so I starting observing the waitstaff and noticed that they were only pleasant to non-white customers. I thought it was just me thinking this, until we went else where for meals. We went to go into a shop and an American white man said to us "I would advise you not to go in there, they don't like white people!" Then it all clicked.... Stop by for breakfast and was sent upstairs to dining room. Place was ok and no one greeted me. So went to find a seat. Lady came by 2 minutes later and said I sat myself. Well, no one was at entrance. Then sat there for 10 minutes and it was not busy. Saw 3 or more wait staff just walking around all grumpy. I don't know how or why a restaurant named eggs & things could be so utterly terrible. With all the hype we read about, we waited. When we were finally seated it took about 10 mins for a waiter to stop even though they passed us a few times. Our food finally arrived and it was a completely different order. I've eaten my way through more spots…read morethan I should probably admit, so when I say this place absolutely demolishes about 95% of what's on the island, I mean it. We were on a Waikiki staycation thinking it was going to be just another tourist area spot. Nope. This place came out swinging like it had something to prove. The fried rice. I'm calling it right now, best on the island. No debate. No ties. Straight number one. If there's a fried rice championship belt, they're holding it and not giving it back. Kalbi was ridiculous. Whoever is back there cooking deserves a raise and a vacation, then come right back because that was unreal. And the portion size felt like they accidentally gave me two orders and just said send it. Bibimbap was solid too. Only tiny knock is the stone wasn't hot enough to crisp the rice, but at that point I was too busy going to work on everything else to even care. Overall this place is a 12 out of 10. Math doesn't apply here. Line should be out the door 24/7. If it's not, you're all sleeping.

I kinda felt sick after, I think the guacamole may not have been too fresh which caused my tummy to be upset a bit. Overall, for the price point the food was pretty mid. Plus before I walked into the restaurant, a guy told me not to go in and that the food wasn't good so that may have affected my experience.

The Ilikai has been known for their Eggs Benedict since the 1980s, and this breakfast definitely lived up to that reputation. Also, the omelet was fluffy and cooked to perfection with amazing flavor. Pancake was perfect, if you like fluffy. For a peaceful view of the sea, ask to sit at the bar tops facing the harbor. The service was friendly, and it felt like all hands on deck with everyone checking in to make sure everything was perfect. Easily one of the best breakfasts I have had in Waikiki. Honestly nothing to rave about, I've had better burgers/sandwiches elsewhere even here on Maui but it wasn't terrible, it was just ok in my books and satisfied the hunger. I think my guy friends come here often since it's walking distance from our hotel and they probably just crave some American food and honestly I'm probably the most foodie of the bunch haha! The service was good and for the restaurant being pretty busy on a Sunday evening, they were quite attentive which I appreciate. We got condiments and our waters were refilled timely. I thought it was cool they offered Breakfast all day. My friend was almost going to get himself a Breakfast plate but he changed his mind last minute. They look like they have a great selection of sweet like Pancakes and savory like Loco Moco or Benedict's. This was located at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Shopping Center so lots of tourists trying to find something to eat.
