This place is super cute. It's Ljubljana a step up from a diner. The entire staff was very nice and welcoming. My Benedict was pretty good, it came on sourdough bread that was buttery and soft. The crab cake was delicious. They also serve drinks

Service was excellent! Everyone was so sweet and complimentary, especially in regards to my mother's birthday. Trish was the best server ever! So sweet with great recommendations. The owner, Judy, came and chatted with us after our meal as well. The restaurant T-shirts don't lie - they really are a family. And when you come in, you're treated like family too! I loved how you could mix, match and substitute anything on the menu. You can really create your perfect breakfast at an extremely affordable price! A fun bonus I liked was the 90's rom-com inspired playlist. It went unnoticed by most but added to the familiar and comfortable feel of the restaurant. I got the Hazelnut Harmony coffee was SUPERB. I wasn't impressed with the pralines (they didn't seem roasted) but the coffee was excellent. Perfect amount of sweetness while still tasting like hearty coffee. The food was the BOMB! You can't go wrong with anything on this menu. The Turkey bacon was crispy. The portions were hefty. If you want a lighter option, I would recommend a breakfast sandwich (the Egg Bomb BLT was amazing) or an omelet like the Goodness Gracious. I highly recommend the home fries - which were seasoned to perfection. The menu items we dubbed the winners were the strawberry cheesecake pancakes and the shrimp and grits breakfast bowl. I loved how any pork options could be swapped for Turkey. We were happy with everything from the service to the atmosphere to the food. I highly highly recommend! Thanks for making my mom's 50th birthday spectacular, Eggs Up Grill!

I have been to Eggs Up Grill twice now and every time it gets better. One time we went and didn't have to wait long even though it was busy and this time we went for Friday lunch and we sat immediately! Ordered a French vanilla ice coffee and it was delicious to start. For the entree, I ordered the goodness gracious omelet and well goodness gracious!!! It was so delicious and filling and huge!! Not to mention another reason to love eggs up is that they have nutrition facts online and that's a huge bonus to me. Our waiter was also super cordial and attentive despite it not being busy! Our order came out fast and correct and we could not have been more pleased! Definitely quick and easy for lunch and would consider going again versus just for brunch on a weekend.

My husband and I loveeeed this breakfast spot! We stopped by around 2 pm and we didn't know they closed at 2:30 (we're not morning ppl lol) but we were still welcomed in and happily served. I always feel bad to come in when they're about to close but they were very welcoming and asked us to stay. Trisha was our server and she was super sweet. What we ordered: SOUTHERN STAPLES Two eggs, sausage biscuit and a side of sausage gravy, with side of home fries. STEAK & EGGS Two eggs, 6 oz. sirloin steak, grilled tomato and garlic toast, with side of home fries. I asked for no tomatoes. My husband really enjoyed the Southern Staples, the gravy was very delicious! I ordered the Steak and Eggs and was actually very surprised at how good/tender the steak was. Also cooked to perfection. Sounds bad but most breakfast places always mess up my steaks, but not them! This is a little far from home, but I told my husband whenever we're in Alpharetta I wanna eat here! No pedí tomates.

We stopped by here on our way to the Outlets for a day of shopping. I joined waitlist and arrived in the time stated to grab a table. However one there they could not find my name and had to wait about 15 minutes for a seat. The host explained to me that they had a new system and did not use Yelp's join the waitlist software anymore so that's why I did not show up. After seating, the waitress came over and took our order with water and coffee. We ordered shrimp and grits with egg whites and corned beef hash. The shrimp and grits was very watery and with two shrimp in it, the egg whites were fluffy and delish. The corn beef hash got good reviews along with the potatoes and eggs. If we stop by again, shrimp and grits will not be my choice.

Unfortunately, our excitement quickly faded before we were even seated. When I walked into the restaurant, I was completely ignored by a young blonde employee named Claudia who was standing behind the counter in the waiting area. She looked directly at me and continued what she was doing without so much as a greeting or an acknowledgment. A simple, "Good morning, someone will be right with you," would have gone a long way. Since no one else was in the lobby and I noticed a clipboard on the counter, I politely asked if there was a waitlist. Claudia responded with an attitude that she "wasn't the hostess." I calmly asked where the hostess was, and she simply replied that she was clearing tables. There was no offer to help, no explanation of the process, and no attempt to assist me. She continued interacting with other staff members while I stood there feeling like an inconvenience. Thankfully, another employee who appeared to be a waiter noticed me. He immediately picked up the same clipboard that had been sitting on the counter, took my name and phone number with a cheerful attitude, and let me know it would be about a 15-minute wait. His professionalism completely contrasted with the poor customer service I had just experienced. Once seated, our waiter was personable, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The food was also very good. I ordered the Chicken Sausage Scramble with hash browns, and it was delicious. My friend ordered the Catfish and Grits and thoroughly enjoyed her meal as well. The food and our waiter helped redeem the experience, but first impressions matter. Management should ensure that every employee understands that providing basic courtesy and hospitality is everyone's responsibility, not just the hostess's. Even if greeting guests or managing the waitlist wasn't Claudia's primary role, there was no excuse for being dismissive or rude to someone walking through your front door. Alpharetta has no shortage of excellent brunch spots with both great food and outstanding customer service. Sadly, because of the way I was treated before I was even seated, I won't be returning to The Southern Porch. I also won't feel comfortable recommending it to friends or family. It's disappointing because the kitchen and our waiter did their jobs well, but one employee's attitude overshadowed what could have been an otherwise enjoyable brunch.

It's a small, popular place, and the wait can be long, especially during brunch hours. Some of my friends had to wait for almost 2hrs for the table. That said, it's a family-run style restaurant with a cozy, homey vibe, and the food is good. They serve classic Southern breakfast and brunch dishes, and most items are flavorful and comforting but compared to other brunch places the portion sizes are small. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is friendly, though service can feel a bit slow when it's busy. Overall, it's a good spot if you're craving Southern comfort food, but go with patience--or try visiting on a weekday to avoid the long wait.

The restaurant itself is beautiful with a warm, modern aesthetic and comfortable seating. They also offer outdoor seating, which would be especially nice in good weather. I had the fire-roasted broccolini and a salad with a house-made blue cheese dressing that was excellent. Service was fast and attentive, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. As someone who recently moved to the Southeast from the San Francisco Bay Area and spends a lot of time traveling for work, I'm always looking for memorable meals on the road. While the hotel itself was fairly typical for a business stay, the restaurant was easily the highlight. My fiancé immediately said the atmosphere reminded him of a café in New York City, and I completely understood what he meant. The beautiful decor, dim lighting, dessert displays, and overall energy made it feel like we had stepped out of Avalon for a little while. I ordered the tiramisu, which was delicious, and my fiancé got the cookies and cream cheesecake, which he gave a solid 10/10. The dessert selection alone makes it worth stopping in, especially when you want something sweet after dinner without committing to another full meal. Our service was quick and kind, but what we really appreciated was that we were able to just sit, enjoy our desserts, and spend time together without constantly being interrupted. Our server was attentive when we needed something but otherwise let us enjoy our evening, which was exactly what we wanted. They also have a full bar along with their extensive coffee selection, which makes this such a fun late night spot. I was very tempted by an espresso martini, but after already having a margarita with dinner, dessert had to be enough for me this time! The ambiance was definitely the standout for both of us. Even my fiancé, who rarely comments on restaurant decor, kept pointing out how cool the space was. Between the atmosphere, huge dessert selection, great service, and the fact that you can stop in later in the evening for coffee, cocktails, and something sweet, Café Intermezzo is such a great addition to a night at Avalon.
