Met friends there and has a slight wait on a Sunday morning. Three in the party ordered different omelettes and all raved on how light and fluffy they were. Nice and clean little diner with friendly faces and a surprisingly diverse menu for a little diner. I ordered the Classic, which arrived piping hot and prompt, along with my much needed coffee. Not so good as breakfast places go. I had the corned beef hash eggs Benedict. First thing I noticed was that the English muffin was not toasted or browned. Then, the hollandaise sauce tasted like it was either made with margarine or with a not so great butter. Also, I did not like the corned beef hash itself; the corned beef did not have a good pickled flavor, and the potatoes were puréed to the point you barely notice them mixed in with the corned beef. First, this review won't be about the food. This will be about service. I visited this establishment for the first time today and decided to get the sweet potato pecan waffle and sausage patties. My order was to-go, after I placed my order I was told it will take 10 minutes. I sat to the side as other patrons come in and out. I noticed a few other people place to-go orders and patiently wait. After about 15 minutes, I saw the other people leave with their orders and yet my name hasn't been called. I was the before them and I didn't order alot. When I looked at the counter there was a plate which I assumed was there was there for a call-in order. The plate was opened and laying there and yet NO ONE called my name. Now the other customers names were called and orders given in a timely manner. After sitting there for 20 minutes total, I went to the counter and asked about my order, the waiter goes to the back looking for the order then comes back and gets the plate that has been sitting there for 10 minutes getting cold! To add to that she was unsure if I paid or not!! I don't want to say this is a race issue but being ignored as a human being is totally disrespectful. I will not patronize this establishment again. New casual breakfast and lunch restaurant in an area of Roswell that desperately needed such a place - good call by the owners Mike and Judy. They have done a great job refurbing the space and hiring a great staff - very friendly. I was there for lunch and had the tomato bisque and a grilled chicken spinach salad. Very tasty. Next time I will go for breakfast to sample the breakfast fare. They have a "gluten friendly" pancake which I am eager to try as this is a rare sighting in the Roswell area. We were looking for a nice spot for brunch and this is it! Located in the Public shopping center the restaurant is cozy and bright. The service was really good and we were waited on by the owner Judy. It was a Sunday so the whole family was working. The food is really good and so was the coffee. Fast, Friendly Service and Good Food. Visiting the Alpharetta area and were looking for a good breakfast place or two, came across this one based on online reviews. Went on a rainy Tuesday morning and there was no wait at all, but I can see how this place could have a line, very similar to a popular restaurant back home (in CT). The menu is extensive without being too long, good selection of breakfast staples with the southern faves. Would have loved to have tried more but the food we ordered came out very quickly, was well prepared and everything else we saw being served at other tables looked equally good. We had waffles, eggs, homefries, corned beef hash and biscuits and gravy. No big secrets in any of it and very tasteful (and tasty) in its' simplicity. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars if that were possible, not quite five stars but definitely a place I would visit again if I was in the area. read more

First of all, let's be honest... as of this review they have only been open for 3 days. So, I added one star because things will probably improve. With that in mind, WOW!!!!... The Home Fries were the best I've ever tasted (do they use some type of sweet-infused oil?), and the Cheeseburger was amazing! It was so juicy, but yet still cooked through. The bun was extremely good as well. My wife had the Ham & Egg sandwich which was delicious. The ONLY thing that could have been improved upon was the Sausage Gravy & Biscuits... the biscuits were wonderful, but the sausage gravy was a tad too runny (especially for us Northerners who compare it against Bob Evans). That being said, the flavor was very good. Definitely a keeper, and we can't wait to be regulars!!! I never come out this way but I was meeting some friends for brunch with their kids and we decided on this place. There was a wait but it was not that long and they were super accommodating to kids. I'm not a big eggs fan (I know right?!) but for some reason I was craving an omelette. I decided to go for the "goodness gracious" omelette with hash browns (I added cheese to them because the omelette sounded TOO healthy). Not sure what the problem is,but getting a seat was the first challenge of the morning. It appeared there were 3 hostesses and 3 empty tables cleaned and no one sat my husband and I. After 20 min. We sat ourself down because we were in next. Well,having challenged the seats we went on to order, do not know waiter name he never said told us. He also never asked if we needed water or coffee refill hi how we did. I ordered egg and cheese with chopped up bacon, well when I got it bagel was cold and two half cooked slices of bacon ,not chopped,were served to me. Ok I was hungry and ate, but both the noise level and the staff were not enjoyable. No one said thank you even as we paid the bill. The food was great, but the size of the restaurant is rather tight. We were placed in a table with very little room to move around. I felt like I was up against a corner trying to enjoy my food. Not only that, there is only single bathrooms. I had to wait 20 minutes to even get up and use the restroom. I also noticed that the AC unit was dripping water above the bar where customers were sitting and food was being brought out. I THINK THEY'RE ON TO US As I was on my way to Canton, my friend and I decided to stop in for breakfast. As the waitress began to engage us, I felt a sort of awkwardness because I think that she suspected we were Yelpers and wanted to make a great impression. It was just too much for me as I would much rather have an "authentic" experience than one that is not. She was very present at the front end but not so much toward the back end of our meal. I just ended up leaving the money on the table, (discretely of course). Regarding our meal, my friend and I both ordered the classic breakfast, I requested breakfast potatoes and sausage while she ordered the grits with cheese and bacon. I don't usually order meat or toast but since it came with the meal, I was fine. The eggs were fine, the sausage was a very generous serving and while not inherently greasy, it appeared to have been fried in oil. Hmmm? The bacon and breakfast potatoes were very well prepared and delicious. The toast was a miss, as I said I don't usually order toast when dining out because I like a hearty whole grain wheat bread that is well toasted to crispiness. This was that "color it brown and tell them its wheat" bread that would just get toasted on the edges. It reminded me of what you get when you try to toast bread in a skillet, just warm, limp bread. I need a solid vessel to support my eggs and sausage. Although the waitress tried to assist with a different order of toast, the outcome was the same. Also, when eating toast, I prefer to have real butter and a rich jam, no marjarine, jelly or commercial apple butter. Although my friend loved her grits, I thought that they looked more like a soup as she sort of slurped them with a spoon. I prefer thicker grits that I can eat with a fork. Yes, I expect my grits to have grit. Yes, I would return to this restaurant in another year or so, (once the excitement of seeing a possible Yelper has died down), and I would probably try an omelet with a side of potatoes only. I was thrilled to possibly have a weekly go-to breakfast cafe after morning mass. I texted my family and made plans for next Sunday. I've changed my mind and will NOT return. The food offerings are the usual breakfast fare. I had oatmeal and a breakfast wrap. I'll give it a 3 rating out of 5. Laura the server was very pleasant but clearly very busy. All in all, I would have returned. Sadly, the unnecessary bad experience originated from Mike, the owner. When I checked in, I clearly stated to the host, that I was looking for a table next to a wall outlet because I needed to work. I waited 10mins (there wasn't a wait for anyone else) for that perfect table and I was OK with that. I was seated, ate and began working. About 40mins after I got there, still having coffee, the owner stopped by and told me he needed my table for another customer and that I needed to leave. I politely mentioned that I was working and had hoped to finish and that I clearly mentioned this to the host. Very abruptly, impatiently and unsympathetically, he blurted out, "this is not a work place" and that he had other customers. It's not that I was asked to leave after he gladly took my money, it's Mike's uncaring and gross misconduct that is simply unforgivable on all levels! It's bad business and very unsavvy behavior. Apologize for the misunderstanding with the host and make your case. That would have been the right response. Mike, you don't need to bully your clientele to make it in this business. You unnecessarily embarrassed a paying customer! Is it really just all about getting your customers in and out of your joint (all about the $$$$s)? That's how it appeared today. The net of it is there are just too many restaurants in the Alpharetta/Crabapple/Milton area that offer impeccable service, amazing flavors and gratitude for my business, I'll be glad to spend my hard earned money and celebrate with family and friends anywhere but at Mike's establishment.
