My last review was positive, however our experience yesterday was not a good one. First, as I walked in, the person at the front didn't seat me. The restaurant was not busy and I asked to be sat after standing up front for several minutes. When I was sat,the person up front picked up our menus after just sneezing all over herself several times- after which she didn't use sanitizer or excise herself to wash her hands. It's flu season and she should have been more careful. I will say she was apologetic for not seating me more timely. That was nice of her but I could not get over her unsanitary sneezing! The party I was with ordered and when everything came out it was all wrong- one person received hashbrowns instead of grits, got a burned English muffin instead of a biscuit, and some else's ham was burned. When they brought out the biscuit (after we inquired about it) it was overly saturated in margarine and had a weird taste to it. The margarine literally coated my throat after taking a small bite. I also thought my grits tasted like margarine- I don't understand why some restaurants do use real butter. It's much better for the body and the flavor is 100 x better. Anyway, we will not be going back to this restaurant. read more

Hubs and I got there at about 8:30am on a Sunday to beat the brunch crowd. Super clean and bright. The atmosphere makes you wanna whistle the Andy Griffith theme. However it does not go at an Andy Griffith pace. Coffee? Bam! Chocolate chip and granola waffles? Bam! A side of fruit and more coffee? Bam! Bam! I love the fast service here. We make it a point not to linger too long after we eat. Why? Breakfast is pretty cheap. Servers need to turn their tables over quickly to make more tips from the meal costs. read more

Waited 45mins for food for party of 3 on a Thursday morning. Food was ok, nothing special. Kids pancake was horrible. When asked at checkout how things were, I told hostess "marginal" and the above concerns. All I was offered was, "Sorry about that, everybody came at once." They could have at least offered to take off our coffee & tea that were never refilled as a gesture! Huge disappointment. Never going back. read more

As someone wrote in another review, Lexington, has needed a decent breakfast place for a while- Waffle House & IHOP get old pretty quick. I've been thrice with my 4 kids in tow and they've got a decent breakfast selection for both adults and kids and they are reasonably priced. The only fly in the ointment is the wait on Saturday mornings.(30 minutes 3 times) I will now only go there if my kids get up early enough to beat the crowds. It's probably because there's a dearth of breakfast restaurants in Lexington, but the challenge remains for this Eggs Up Grill location to turn tables while trying to keep service high. If anything, it probably demonstrates the potential for competitors based on demand I suppose- but the Eggs Up Grill certainly has a head start and could keep competition at bay by trying to figure out a way to reduce wait times. It's a good problem to have for them. read more

I've been here once with a friend and we really enjoyed it. The seating was quick for the time that we arrived and the service was excellent. The staff is very friendly and that goes a long way with me. The food is fairly basic breakfast food, but that's what we expected. read more

Outstanding service, super clean, friendly staff, and best potato salad I have ever had. My wife enjoyed her blueberry muffin and eggs that were also cooked to perfection for her. Best place to eat if one person is a breakfast person and one person most of the time is a lunch or dinner person. Their bacon also makes for a good review by itself. read more

Food was okay, despite it not really being hot (it sat in the pass for quite some time before being delivered to our table). The waitress did not seem to really know what she was doing, slow service, as well as slow to refills drinks. The poached eggs we ordered had a fairly big piece of shell in them. You won't find gourmet food here, but you will get a fairly priced, good breakfast at a reasonable price and friendly service. If at all possible, skip the weekend and go a little after the weekday rush. Great spot to meet friends. There is a board near the kitchen where there's a count of number of eggs served. read more

We went in for the first time as a party of four. The wait was reasonable and they text you when ready so that's a plus. Food came out pretty quickly and portions were very good size, no one left hungry. We had a variety of different food and everyone was pleased. Looks like we're going to be coming back here for breakfast. Downfall, the wait for the bathroom can be crazy and it's by the kitchen doors, so you feel in the way. read more

Great place to eat breakfast! However, I wasn't very happy today when the NoWait app said "No wait -- Come on in!" and then I get there and there is a 30-45 minute wait. When I asked them why the app wasn't updated, the hostess said it was because they were sitting people so quickly. I don't call a 30-45 minute wait quickly sitting everyone so they need to be updating their app! About the only negative experience I have had with this restaurant. read more

I've been three times and happy with my food each time. On my last visit I was slightly annoyed because after being seated nobody acknowledged us so after waiting awhile I finally as the hostess if someone was working our table. The hostess went to one waitress but she was clearly not going to serve us. Hostess then takes our drink order but was told by above waitress to only tend the door. Several minutes later our waitress came and took our drink order and seemed quite cranky. After all was said and done, our waitress finally apologized and all was forgiven. Had a late Breakfast there today, the service was unexceptable. Waitress was very elusive, never checked on us. Forgot half our order, we could see it sitting on the warming area for over 20 min. 1st time for us. The wait to get seated was not bad, plus they have benches outside, and free coffee. Almost as busy as just us café in Cayce. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was ok. No onion sausage ( link sausage was sad in looks and flavor ). Home fries were mushy (almost like they had been frozen). Eggs ok. Sourdough toast was great. A friend and I went here for brunch on a Saturday. It was VERY busy. We had a thirty minute wait. There was no room inside to sit, so we waited outside, where the restaurant had set up a coffee station for their waiting patrons. They texted me when my table was ready and we walked in. Although busy, it did not feel overly crowded. I had the two eggs over easy with bacon and hash browns. When I told the waitress that I would skip the toast, she offered some other options, including a gluten free pancake, which was delicious! My friend had the sweet potato pancakes with the cinnamon syrup, which she said was very good. Our server was courteous and warm. FYI the hot chocolates are enormous. read more

I had breakfast with my kids on Saturday morning. It was busy as expected and the service was reasonable considering the circumstances. I ate the bananas foster French toast. It had good flavor but the brown sugar was candy consistency rather than carmelized. This made it hard to eat, like Jolly Ranchers. My kids enjoyed pancakes and eggs. Home fries were flavorful. The Eggs Up Grill is a welcome addition to the Lexington area. The food is always fresh and extremely well prepared. The staff is one of the best I have ever encountered. Waited about 45 min for a table one Saturday morning, so I was expecting something really special. Its actually pretty standard - maybe a step or two above IHOP but not gourmet. The service was good and management went out of their way to make sure everyone was happy with the meal. I would definitely eat breakfast here again but wouldn't stand in line for it. read more
