Really pleasantly surprised by this new restaurant. Food was solid, and ambiance was really clean and modern. Big portion sizes as well. My favorite was the black pepper beef and will definitely reorder that next time. Prices are slightly on the pricier end.

3.75 STARS IDK who Eilleen is but she's wild... And living in 2040 because $32 for baby bok choy is ridic. I guess unicorns and minions are harvesting these precious veggies. Good thing there are more affordable dishes on the menu. In soft opening phase, Eilleen's Kitchen took over Nom Burger and TAP'T Beer & Kitchen in DT Sunnyvale. One side is serving Chinese cuisine (open now) and the other side is hot pot (similar to Haidilao) that's opening in 3-4 weeks. Takeout, indoor dining, and outdoor dining. M E N U Regional Chinese, mix of Fujian, Chongqing, and Sichuan cuisine with modern, elevated touches. Large menu: https://qrcode.chowbus.com/m?code=miIRFf Order by QR code and you can make adjustments with the server; i.e. less salt, less sugar, no onions, etc. Beer & wine available. Auto-service charge (tip) by party size: 1-4: 15%, 5-8: 18%, and 9+: 20%. More than fair. Open the green envelope for disposable wooden chopstick tips. We didn't know and were wondering why the chopsticks had a hollow tip. F O O D * Hangzhou-style Crisp Yellow Eel 西湖脆鱔 ($22): https://tinyurl.com/yv7nhkav If you like Okabe Kanikko, Japanese fried baby crab snacks, this will be your jam. Served room temp, these are the same eel served in Toisan claypot rice but fried. Satisfyingly crunchy with a savory sweet glaze. * Mushroom Stir-Fried Beef Tongue 鲜菌炒牛舌 ($26): https://tinyurl.com/y6rejs3s Meaty porcini mushrooms and thinly sliced beef tongue were sautéed in aromatics and mild peppers. Flavorful (not salty) with good wok hei. * Red Braised Pork Belly w/ abalone 古法红烧肉 ($22): https://tinyurl.com/mt6ws3wb - They need to update the menu because it only comes with abalone for an upcharge of $18. The Shanghai-style braised pork belly was tender, savory, and delicious with a crown of rich, gelatinous fat (not greasy). A bowl of rice is a mandatory accompaniment. * Marinated Spot Prawn 生腌珊瑚虾 ($26): https://tinyurl.com/23kfjhrh A limited special, the raw spot prawns were dressed with a hella salty, pungent sauce that tasted like fermented bean curd. Chef says, it's an oyster sauce base but it def didn't taste like it. It was incredibly overpowering, verging inedible. We were asked if we wanted to send it back but was later told dishes cannot be removed from the bill (huh?!). The only recourse is to order something else. * Garlic Vermicelli Steamed Prawns 蒜蓉粉丝蒸开边虾 ($28): https://tinyurl.com/tcck7zcz - Swapped for the marinated spot prawns and paid the difference Was iffy on ordering a Canto dish based on the chefs' backgrounds but this ended up as one of our fav dishes. Shrimp seasoned with an aromatic garlic based sauce and steamed over a bed of mung bean vermicelli. Tender shrimp with springy vermicelli absorbing all the rich, umami flavors. S E R V I C E Upbeat, friendly and attentive service from Katherine. It was not busy at the time so food came out fast except the last dish that took 25 minutes. Suggestions to Mgmt: (1) If you're not training staff on the menu, add descriptions for menu items. (2) Rethink some menu prices...why is bok choy priced higher than shrimp dishes?! (3) I hate sending back food but sh*t happens and there's no way the POS doesn't allow you to remove an item from the bill. Making customers order a replacement dish is not it. A M B I A N C E Upscale, sophisticated dining room with pleasant shaded patio. P A R K I N G Street and garage parking. It was farmers market day but we easily found street parking in front. Overall, Eilleen's Kitchen serves tasty Chinese regional cuisine with a contemporary flair but YMMV depending on what you order. By the time we finished at 12:30 pm, the resto was mobbed by mandarin speaking customers so you know this place is legit!

Been here a few times and the food has been excellent! Black garlic pepper wagyu cubes was very tender, juice, beefy, a mix of savory and taste of sweetness and garlic flavor. Pork belly was also very tender, the meat was a mix of layers of fat and lean meat. The sauce was also a mix of savory and sweetness. Mushroom stir-fried beef tongue was also a favorite, beef tongue was thinly sliced and tender, and blended well with mushrooms. The black shrimp ball was good too, nothing too special, still delicious. Their lunch special are good deals with generous portions. It's a bit on the pricier side but the taste was great. Service was courteous.

(Tom Cruise voiceover) The vibe is nouveau restaurant chinois! Taiwanese vibe! Crystal warmly greeted us! She is super nice! Black Garlic Pepper Beef Cubes (Wagyu). My fave! Soooo much garlic! Succulent! Fab! A must! Pepper Century Egg Salad. Soo good! Wild Pepper Stir-fried Beef Tenderloin (spicy aka SPICY!!!!!). Delish! But beware practically everything green is a hot pepper! Kapow! Eileen Special Baby Bok Choy. Special soup! Luxurious! Mexico Coke. In the green bottles! San Pellegrino. Would order everything again! Thanks, Crystal! Woohoo! Hao Chi! Hen Bao Le!

We came in on a Thursday evening for a date night and we waited for a while. We don't know anything about this spot and when we asked for the menu, the server told us to google it. She then walked away with the next couple. We tried googling it and couldn't figure it out. Unfortunately had to leave hangry. It's a bummer because we've been waiting for this place to open all summer.

The combination of meat, veggies and the exterior crispy pancake created such an outstanding tasting effect. The lamb dish had one of the most tender meats I've tasted. The brown sugar sticky rice cake was soft inside and hard outside; with just the right amount of sweetness. Service was ok. They should've been kinder and more grateful. I liked how they have a sign posted on window saying that gratuity is at free will and you don't pay for the wrong dish they send to you. It showed accountability. That's why we keep coming back, for now.

There was no line for us to be seated. I was able to flag down a server to seat us since they seem to be extremely busy cleaning tables and servicing others. The hotpots are full of ingredients and the broth has always been tasty. Unfortunately, the meats seem to be overcooked. Prices have been going up over the years where only the monthly special is enticing for the value. Servers were friendly and checked in on us, but it took 25 minutes for our food to show up at our table after we ordered. The only consistent experience I've had are the oranges at the end of the meal. They are always amazingly sweet, juicy, and comes off the peel easily. I don't usually enjoy oranges, but I love the ones HomeEat offers! Will be back if in the area, but hope kitchen service will be quicker in the future.

We knew to go early, since they don't take reservations and we often see lines outside. We arrived at 10:30am and the front manager said if we can be done my 12:30, that they had a table for us. Party of 12, since we got there early, we agreed. The side room had the biggest round table for us. They ask you what kind of tea you want, we like chrysanthemum tea. You order the items on the paper menu and it comes to your table. So we got going on the orders and TBH, we must be hungry, because we did a lot of orders (we had plenty of left overs). Tried some favorites and a few new items that we thought were unique to their restaurant. My dad has to order crispy noodle and chow fun, and we also ordered chicken fried rice. The service was prompt and attentive, with enough servers to take care of the side room. Since it was the "sun room", the sun was shining through the windows and it was bright. Review from my parents: it was just meh, they prefer the other place near our house. I think the food is good, but probably won't come back again with a big group of us, since they don't have many big round tables. And personally, I prefer the whole experience of the ladies coming around with their carts. Perhaps their dinner menu is also worth trying. Bonus for us is that we can literally walk to this restaurant. Parking could be an issue if you come later.

Ironically, I'm not a fan of them myself--they're a bit too eggy for my taste. When it comes to dim sum quality and service, I honestly prefer Koi Palace. The food quality there is more consistent, and the service is much more phenomenal. The only things this place really has over Koi Palace are the lower prices and those black sesame custard buns my friend loves! I've been here at least a dozen times, and the food can be hit or miss. Sometimes dishes come out cold, like they've been sitting out for a while instead of being served fresh and hot. That said, there are a few items we always order that are consistently good when brought out fresh like salted crispy pork chops, siu mai, shrimp rolls, and fried calamari. Be prepared for a wait on weekends since it gets crowded. If you're coming with a large group, it's best to arrive before noon. The restaurant is located next to a hotel, and finding the restroom can be confusing since it's inside the hotel. Service is also pretty minimal--they seem understaffed, and I almost always have to flag someone down just to get basics like soy sauce, chili, and water. I don't understand why they don't just have the sauce on the table for guest to dip, but I get that they're saving $ on controlling the cost down. On my most recent visit, the experience really went downhill. Our table had food but no soy sauce, chilli nor water, and when I flagged a waiter multiple times, he got visibly annoyed and irritated. It was frustrating--we shouldn't have to chase someone down repeatedly for basic condiments. Being met with attitude for that honestly left a bad impression. That experience alone makes me reconsider coming back. Good food at a good price is one thing, but poor service--especially to that extent--can really ruin the overall experience.

We called and they will credit our cc. Fook kin rice was good. Salt & pepper pork was a little soggy. Dim sum was okay. All of it was not hot and fresh. We arrived around 1 PM on a Sunday and were told it would be a 20-25 minute wait. That was fine. But when we were seated we noticed the carts did not have much food. So we ordered 4 dim sum items off the menu. No one told us how long it would take to get these items. We ordered traditional dim sum items and at most dim sum places it would just take a few minutes. But after 20 minutes, nothing had arrived. We asked one of the workers and he angrily told us it takes a long time to prepare them. After 5 minutes one item showed up. But after waiting 20 minutes we decided to leave. As we were paying the bill, another item showed up so we just took it home. What bothered me most was no one apologized for the long wait, offered to somehow compensate, etc. They just acted like another day at Saigon Seafood Harbor.
