From the moment we walked in, the place felt very comfortable. The decor, tableware, and lighting all created a warm and relaxing atmosphere. Ordering was done via QR code, which was convenient. There were quite a few standout dishes. The「stir-fried beef tongue with king oyster mushrooms」was my husband's favorite. The mushrooms were sliced thin and had a really nice crisp texture, and the beef tongue was tender with a pleasant chew. The「Fresh Winter Bamboo Stir Fry With Kurobuta Pork」was fairly standard and didn't stand out too much, but since I personally enjoy bamboo shoot dishes, I still liked it. The「Signature Home-braised East Sea Yellown Croaker Served With Handcrafted Pure Rice Cake」was very good. The fish was tender and flavorful, and the rice cakes were soft and chewy, soaking up the sauce beautifully. Mixing a bit of the sauce with rice was especially satisfying. The「Stir-fried Asparagus Lettuce」was bright green and looked very fresh when served. It tasted just as good--light, slightly sweet, and crisp. The「Marinated Coral Shrimp」was the only dish I didn't really enjoy. The shrimp itself was fresh, but the flavor was a bit hard to describe--slightly sweet and spicy, but somehow lacking depth, which made it feel a bit off. For dessert, the「Brown Sugar Glutinous Rice Cake」was delicious. It had a lightly crisp exterior and a soft, chewy interior, with a hint of peanut aroma. It was very satisfying, though slightly on the oily side, so it might not be for those who prefer lighter desserts. There was one small service hiccup: before we had finished eating, the check was placed on our table. We thought it was a signal to pay, so we settled the bill. Right after that, the server asked if we wanted to pack leftovers and started boxing up the dishes we planned to take. In reality, we hadn't quite finished eating yet, but felt a bit awkward saying so. That said, the service was still polite throughout. The bill included a service charge, and for two people, the total came to around $260 with tip. It's on the pricier side, but still reasonable for the overall experience. New Chinese restaurant in downtown Sunnyvale. The interior is clean, spacious, and very modern. I especially appreciated the thoughtful detail of providing two pairs of chopsticks for each guest - one for personal use and another for sharing. I liked this place enough to visit twice in one month and try a wide range of dishes. The pricing is on the higher side for the portion sizes, but the flavors are spot on, so I think it's worth it. Been here a few times and the food has been excellent! Black garlic pepper wagyu cubes was very tender, juice, beefy, a mix of savory and taste of sweetness and garlic flavor. Pork belly was also very tender, the meat was a mix of layers of fat and lean meat. The sauce was also a mix of savory and sweetness. Mushroom stir-fried beef tongue was also a favorite, beef tongue was thinly sliced and tender, and blended well with mushrooms. The black shrimp ball was good too, nothing too special, still delicious. Their lunch special are good deals with generous portions. It's a bit on the pricier side but the taste was great. Me and my roommate visited on a Sat. noon. We both grow up in the eastern China and we agree the seafood taste is truly authentic, exactly the same as those in our hometown. Hats off. Service-wise, walk-in welcome, wi-fi not working so it took us a while to complete ordering. Then we waited a longer-than-average time to get our food. We asked them to cancel the dish but were declined. They offered us to change to another dish but we were so disappointed and not willing to try anything else. They kept saying they cannot cancel the order cause the food was ok. I was unhappy and told him to check us out without changing to another dish. Fully digital menu that requires your phone to use, this doesn't bother me but some people may not like that. (~$120 for 3 dishes) There is a bell you ring for the "waiter" but it's not loud enough for them to hear. They also include a mandatory service charge for parties of any size in lieu of a tip (service charge is higher for larger parties). The waiters are basically busboys, why is there mandatory service charge for that? At least the service fee is clearly displayed, I guess? Most of the dishes were obviously pre-made, too salty, and the portions were far too small. Six of us spent $280 and still left unsatisfied.
