Just witnessed and had the rudest service I have had in a very long time, customer in front of us just left her order and walked based on the young mans rude behavior. We palced order for bagels and my grandson a hot coco after getting our bagels and almost finishing still no hot coco, I asked the young man about the coco he relplied he just had not gotten to it? First off, these are not Bagels, more like rolls with a hole in the middle. What Einstein spits out of their ovens is no more a bagel than my left sock is fine lingerie. They're awful, and we must stand up against false bagels. Panera Bread in the Galleria has decent bagels, but for the true bagel go to Wholly Bagel or Rockstar Bagels. It has been years since I've been to an Einsteins. I stopped by today for a quick, in and out bagel to hold me and the kids over until we got home for lunch. I ordered one bagel...one. I am a very patient and understanding person. This is why I never asked about my order prior to receiving it...20 minutes after I ordered. I could tell they were understaffed. They had one person making the orders and one person taking the orders. About 12 minutes into my wait a third employee showed up. Finally, they called my name. I got my bagel and looked in the bag. There was exactly, one bagel. Not toasted, not cut. Now to be fair, I did not ask for it to be toasted or cut, but after 20 minutes I had begun to expect a bagel sprinkled with unicorn or pixel dust. Now, it dawned on me after looking in my bagel bag that I waited 20 minutes for someone to grab a bagel from the case, stick in a bag, and hand it to me. I approached the employees and mentioned that I was shocked about this. I was simply told that they were understaffed. I mentioned that it wasn't cut, toasted, nothing....again after twenty minutes. I was told if I didn't ask for it that way it doesn't come that way...(by the way, I wasn't asked if I wanted any of that when I ordered). The employee offered to cut and heat it for me, with a little bit of attitude. Once complete I said "thank you," and she didn't say a word. Dear management: you have got to have your employees think outside of the box. While I'm sure the guy making the orders was feverishly working (he messed up two orders in front of me) he and the other employees have got to learn to look ahead and triage the orders. One, the nice young lady who took my order should have grabbed my one bagel immediately, put it in a bag and handed it to me. Two, if she is forbidden from touching the bagels, the other guy should have looked ahead of the order screen and while waiting on another order to be toasted, grabbed my one bagel, put it in the bag and handed it to me. My order should have literally taken less than 10 seconds to complete. Also, there was no apology. I'm assuming the store's cost on a bagel is around 50 cents. They should have offered to refund my money and apologized for the ridiculous wait. The plus, my kid thought the bagel was delicious and it opened up a conversation about multitasking and customer service. Your employees, although I'm sure good folks, have got to have some better training. read more

I really like Einstein bagels but I won't be going back to this location. I walked in on a rainy Monday morning to find the place staffed by one solitary person and a line of patrons nearly out the door. This is not the first time this has happened. Seems to occur several times a month. The store is dirty and the coffee bar is neglected. The management at this location is awful. The lady was very rude and said it is not included in the price! I paid $10 for six bagels and shmear!! And for the record, this location has toasted my bagels before! I've been here twice and I love the bagels so far, they are really yummy and the coffee is good. I knocked a star because: I ordered a bagel and after paying and receiving it I realized I wanted butter on it. No problem right? Wrong... Adding butter was a huge complicated ordeal and the workers seemed really annoyed at me for asking this. The girl working at the counter charged me 60 cents for BUTTER (???) and explained they had to remake the whole thing. If I would have known it would be so complicated for a BAGEL shop to add butter to a bagel, I wouldn't have put them through the trouble. I'm really surprised at how they handled a simple butter request, and pretty disappointed considering I really like their bagels. Customer service could be improved for sure. read more

Man, I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. I know they just opened in Dec, but they have got to get it together. I have only been twice, and my order has been messed up both times. I love Einstein's and have never experienced a problem at any of the other locations. I went here first a few days ago for breakfast. I had a coupon for buy two breakfast sandwiches for 6.99. I wanted the egg white, turkey sausage on thin bagel. There was even a picture on the coupon and next to the order register. I showed them my coupon and pointed to the picture on the counter and said I wanted the southwest turkey sausage sandwich. He did repeat back to me, cheddar sausage and I said okay. I never go here and order breakfast and didn't realize he got my order wrong and was telling me the wrong thing. I didn't realize there were two different turkey sausage sandwiches and I wasn't getting the one I asked for. My fault some, but I did say "southwest" in my order and pointed to the picture. Strike one! I asked for it to be on the thintastic bagels and it was on a regular bagel. Strike two. So I decided to try them again for lunch today. I ordered two sandwiches to go for my coworker and me. I asked for mine to be on a thintastic bagel and when I got to work, it wasn't! Again with no thin bagel, do they not understand! Strike three. The sandwiches come with a side. I ordered two potato salads. When I was given my bag I looked inside before I left and there was only one side. I had to go back and get another one. Strike 4. I wanted to get 4 dog bagels and asked the cashier to put them on a different ticket. My coworker was paying for lunch and I didn't want to put my dog bagels on her card. She told me to go back and order them at the other counter. Okay, no big deal. I waited in line again and when it was my turn, that lady told me I order them back down at the other end where I just was. I told her that person sent me here. She said no, it's just an add on item she pushes on the register. I was like okay.... you want me to tell her that (I thought). She looks at me and is frustrated and says, ugh, I'll go down there and tell her. She showed the other employee how to ring up the dog bagels and wasn't very nice about it. I'm not sure what was going on, but no one there seemed happy. And they weren't busy. When I got there, no one was in line and when I left there were only 3 people that ordered behind me. Not a rush crowd. Einstein's better get it together. I have been waiting for them to open since I found out in summer 2014 they were going to open a store in Bee Cave. I really want to like this place and keep going. But if no one can ever get my order right or be friendly, I won't go and neither will the teachers at the school I work at. I've been here many times; great bagels, nice facility... but LAZY staff. Called in this morning - two of the three coffee pots were empty (only decaf available) and the trash can was overflowing. Complained to the staff about no coffee being available (I'd already paid for it) - no apology and no sense of urgency to brew fresh pots ... I'd finished my breakfast and was out the door before it was done. Staff just looked on as customers were stacking trash on top of the overflowing bin. I was so excited when the Bee Cave branch opened. But, after a dozen plus visits, the service is still abysmal. Terrible. The orders are almost always filled wrong. Today, I went in for a dozen cinnamon raisin bagels at noon and they had none. They told me to come back in 27 minutes for more. I returned and after waiting for 10 minutes they said someone made a mistake and the bagels would not be ready for 45 minutes. Ugh! This place seriously needs adult supervision. I'm so glad we have a bagel store in Bee Cave now! I have never gotten a sandwich of any other more complex food here. I have only purchased bagels by the dozen a few times. They have always been delicious and I'm a New Yorker so I ought to know a good bagel. I have them put the bagels through the slicing machine, then I freeze them as toast as needed. You can keep them for a couple months and they taste like new. read more

Update: Both times I've been there since that first time, they've been out of multiple things (milk, sugar, cold brew, napkins, etc.), and the employees seemed disgruntled. I will not be back. First time: My experience was fabulous! It was 26 degrees out this morning, and as I rushed my 9 month old in, a young man was there to hold the door for us. The food was delicious, the service was fast and friendly (even though it was busy- about 25 other patrons coming and going), and the table was clean enough for my daughter to eat off of! We brought home bagels, spreads, and the best coffee home for a home breakfast -- they package all their products to go so well! I'm actually super impressed with all the secure and thoughtful packaging. We got their house blend coffee, nothing out of the ordinary. It was well roasted, very rejuvenating. You can choose 13 bagels in the to-go bagel box and we got the garlic, everything, poppy seed, sesame, and plain bagels with 4 different kinds of spreads - Plain, Honey Almond (delicious, not too sweet, perfect with the savory bagels), onion and chive (classic, not too salty, well balanced), and our favorite, the jalapeño salsa! It isn't spicy per se, but it has a zing and bite to it and really wakes you up! The staff at this location were also so sweet and warm and welcoming! They helped complete our to-go breakfast experience. I miss going to Noah's bagels in Berkeley so this is my replacement! read more

The absolute SLOWEST service ever! I waited almost 30 minutes for one breakfast sandwich!! I don't know that I'll ever go back here.

Last three times I have went here attempting to try specific items they are always out of our first choice, out of second choice, etc. We have actually left & went elsewhere as a few times we attempted to order we got the "sorry we are out of that" multiple times even on the back up items we only half arse wanted. Unprepared restaurants annoy me so I think I must write off the go-to list. Also, not a good idea for employees to complain to customers about other customers...just sayin they may want to fix that as it has happened twice already. Yes, I understand people need to throw their trash away, but no I don't want to hear you complain to me about it! Unfortunate because I do think the food is pretty good, but poorly managed maybe not sure. read more

This store has had major operational problems since it opened and still does today! They have their "process" without regard to the customer or business, you want 1 or 2 bagels at 5 or 6 in the morning and the employee at the front says you have to go to the back to order and she walks back there for me to tell her I want one plain bagel. Then she says come to the front to pay. That may make sense when the store is busy but not when there is only one customer. Also the idiot operation only has one bagel slicer which is regularly broken and they have to use a knife to slice them, fine when you only have one or two bagels but when someone orders a dozen or two ahead of you then there is a 10 minute wait to get your bagel sliced. As others have said I don't think their bagels are the same quality/taste as other Einstein locations I have bought from. I am thru with this place, they have had 6 months to get it together and can't seem to have the ability to do it. read more

As a worker in the galleria, there are times where I need a quick snack or a different brunchy type item. It's great to call them and order it as soon as ten minutes ahead of time and still being able to pick it up in a flash. They'll make suggestions when you make the trip inside to help enable your selections as well. My whole workplace is addicted to the honey almond spread and I myself enjoy it with the blueberry bagel. Always seems to be really clean so it seems they fixed the problems of cleanliness as complained about in other reviews. read more

Well here is the deal, we love this place so writing this bad review hurts me just as much as it hurts them, my bf went to get myself and his kids some yummy breakfast, when he walked in the employee was on the phone, the employee didn't even make eye contact or acknowledge that he was standing right in from of him. I work in customer service and that is a big no no, always at least make eye contact, moving on, after placing his order another cashier comes up and tries to charge him for the wrong order, after that he ended up having to repeat his order a few times, not sure if the employee was not listening or just in his own head, but that does get frustrating having to repeat yourself multiple times. Let me also add that he was the only person in line, so its not like it was a busy time, so there should not be this many reasons to complain! Again I have worked in the service/food/customer service industry for 16 yrs. So I know how it works all to well. After making it home and distributing the noms, we noticed that on his egg/sausage bagel sandwich, HAD NO EGGS ON IT!!!!!!!!! And he had ordered 2 EGGS on it!!!!!!!! I mean COME ON!!!!! It was just a bagel with a sausage patty on it!!!! Not even a smear of cream cheese!!!! WOW!!! I am not going to say that we will never go back, and if next time the service and food is great I will write another review on how great it was, but for now I am very very very disappointed!!! read more

This place needs help. Very disorganized!!!! The server that prepared my signature sandwich (Hummus Veg Out) got it all WRONG!!!! The only thing I asked for was to substitute the Garden Veggie Shmear for Avocado. This sandwich that I received was missing the Hummus, Tomato, and Red Onion and all it had on it was Avocado, Roasted Red Pepper and Arugula!! It's bad when you have a screen right in-front of you, that list all the ingredients that goes on the sandwich and they still get it WRONG!!!!!!! We were so excited that Einsteins was coming to Bee Cave, but then we went there and the service was awful! The first time they got our order wrong giving my daughter the wrong type of cream cheese. Not a big deal, but the second time we went in on a weekend morning and ordered a bagel pack. They just completely forgot the order. They were busy, we waited for over twenty minutes and then my son went up and asked how long it would be for our to go order. That's when they realized they had just forgotten the order. The manager could have cared less and to add injury to insult, they short changed our order by four bagels. I had a coworker convince me to go here for lunch. I've had their food before but have never gone in and ordered there before. The service here is TERRIBLE! Maybe the man was having a bad day... I totally get that. But I've worked retail and I know once you come to work you need to let go of whatever it was causing you to have a bad day. I came on 8/30/17 at around 1:00pm. The man did not give me a name, did not make eye contact with me and he assumed I knew everything about the ordering process. I waited at one register while he was at another. Didn't bother telling me that you order on one side and pay at another. Then when I asked if my meal came with a drink he responded in a snarky way that I had to buy a medium or large drink if I wanted one. I asked how big they were and he responded again with its medium and large didn't bother showing me the size difference. I pay for my food and he tosses my bag at me. I had to ask where the chips were so I just assumed I had to grab them on my way out. If someone looks confused... they probably are. I recommend more training for this man. DON'T BOTHER CALLING AHEAD- they seem clueless that the rest of the world thinks a single bagel is a QUICK purchase!!! Came here for a bagel recently and, when the wait seemed unusually long for a single bagel, I decided to CALL AHEAD for today's bagel. I figure that my rush shouldn't be their 'emergency', as the saying goes. So I hit redial for about 10 mins of my drive, getting ringing and then disconnect. So I thought maybe their "catering" option was what I was supposed to do... Got catering in Colorado, so, not so much. SO, as catering said the store was probably just busy, I began calling again. Hitting redial. No luck. THANK YOU STARBUCKS, is the final result. I quickly popped into this Einstein store, asked for the manager (the young guy in short dreadlocks was unsure if he counted as "manager", but I didn't have time for him to figure that out), then told him I'd called for 20 minutes to order a bagel- unsuccessfully. I showed him my Starbucks breakfast sandwich bag and said, "THIS is what happens when customers can't get through to order a bagel!". He looked perplexed and actually said, "You don't need to call ahead for just one bagel", and pointed to the end of the 6 person line, as if suggesting I might join them. Past two times I have gotten a cream cheese bagel - opened the bagel to find hair on the cream cheese each time. And yeah like others have said the people that work here are slow and not that pleasant. This and a few other things are the reasons why neither I nor any of my coworkers eat here anymore. read more

This is a welcome location. Not sure who rated this place before, but we found the staff is all super friendly and nice, and helpful each time my husband and I go in. Tabitha is a wonderful worker there, among the rest. Great coffee and bagels, and the cinnamon twists are the best treat! The egg sandwiches are awesome and large. read more
