First time at this location and service was friendly, 5/5 stars. The shame goes to my bagel and schmear. I got an everything bagel with chive and onion cream cheese and it's not spread to the edges. There is usually a noticeable layer of cream cheese on each side that would show despite the warmth from the toasted bagel. Highly disappointed. After I received my order and upon exiting the business I noticed that the bagel had not been toasted as I requested. The manager stated that their toaster was out of order and said sorry without trying to correct the matter. This is NOT good customer service. When I placed my order they should have informed about the toaster being out of service so that I could decided whether to continue with the order. They are undergoing construction but despite that it was really clean inside. I think it'll look nice when they're done though it still looks fine now. I came in just after opening one morning and it was very clean and quiet inside. I ordered a mocha and bagel and lox. The server was really very polite and friendly and the service was quick. The mocha I had was just okay, it was supposed to have hazelnut in it and it maybe only just did. I asked for half chocolate so it was not too sweet and they hit that pretty square on. The bagel was just okay, a bit too small and devoid of flavor. The cream cheese was fine, and the salmon was good. I think I would have preferred a bit more substance to the bagel and for there to be a bit more salmon that what I got. It tasted good, but left me wishing I had gotten something else. Secondly, I got all the way through ordering my food, and at the end I added smoked salmon, causing her to delete my order and change it to a nova lox and customize it to fit what I ordered. Making it significantly more expensive, as well as not remembering what I had ordered in the slightest, asking what should and shouldn't be on the bagel, because it was decided that the order should be deleted so I could be charged more. I downloaded yelp to review this place it was so bad. Don't get me wrong, I like Einstein- this one is horrid. None of the staff seemed to be able to work the machines; not the register, not the coffee machine, not the egg fryer. At other Einstein locations with a crowd my order takes maybe 5 minutes. This time it took about 20 The Register: Well for starters they couldn't figure out how to charge me properly and kept adding avocado to my sandwich - a rather frustrating experience considering: NO. ONE. ORDERED. AVOCADO. I had to instruct the cashier on how to ring up my sandwich, a job I was hitherto unaware that I had. Coffee maker: Oh well let's just say when they sell you coffee it's usually pretty reasonable to expect they have any coffee (forget the flavor I want, that's far too much to ask). If that sounds like a reasonable expectation you're asking far to much. It took 5 minutes after mentioning this to a staff member for him to even begin struggling to master the mysteries of the enigmatic coffee maker. His fellow staff unfortunately were equally unequipped for this challenge. By the time my food - Finally - arrived it was, you guessed it, cold. It also came with random slivers of cheese stuck to the outside of my bagel which was especially appreciated considering this is a food I can't eat for dietary reasons. Also the store was consistently exceeding it's max guest capacity of 20 (per the sign on their own door) because they were so slow in getting orders out. I strongly suggest management deign to train their staff, perhaps hire another person and follow their own (or government) rules about capacity. I want to start by saying when I was going to school in Denver I would eat at Einstein's almost every day! However this location is in some serious need of help and better management. Every time I've walk into this store the experience has been unpleasant. There is never much of a line but your bagels always seem to take 30 minutes. And if you're going here for anything more than a basic cup of coffee you'll be upset. It took them over 45 minutes to make an ice mocha that didn't even taste like it has coffee in it. They need to help there employees and teach them how to prioritize. read more

A breakfast service company should NEVER EVER run out of coffee. Repeatedly, I have waited for coffee to be refilled. Particularly the Caribou blend regular. No one in this place is on "coffee duty". I have to ask to have it brewed. I have to ask for creamer to be refilled. That is a -10 stars in my book! In addition, I accidentally left my phone in this restaurant. I called it for an hour trying to locate it or have someone pick it up. It was eventually stolen after no one was paying attention. I eventually got a ping that it was left there at 10:15. This isn't about the inside of the store or their service, I never made it in. I work at a different shop near this Einstein's. A friend was in the area shopping and offered to give me a ride from work. I decided to slip around the corner and see if this place was open by chance because I have never tried this location and a bagel sounded good. Headed over to check the hours and as I was looking someone in the store was making "we're closed" motions to me. Fair enough. Figured it might have been closed but wanted to check. I moved back and sat down in one of their outside patio chairs and sent a text to my friend so she knew where in the parking lot I was. She pulled up a couple minutes later and as I stood up I noticed the guy inside the store was filming me on his phone! And as my friend pulled up the the curve he moved his phone over to film her car as well! He was still filming as we pulled out and away as well. How do I know he was filming? Because he had the camera pointed at me, held at arms length above his head, up right against the window and angled down. As I moved into the car he moved his phone up and along the window. I have never tried texting with my phone against a window, but it sounds like a pain. That struck me as super weird and actually made me really uncomfortable. Frankly the whole experience was a bit bizarre and I don't think I even want to shop here now. Sorry I don't get off work till 5 and you close at 3, also sorry for walking up to the store to look for the hours posted on your door, and sorry for waiting for a ride. This has been my go to bagel place for 10 years. The last manager was great. Always had a full staff, always found what I wanted. Since the new manager came. I seldom find what I want, the espresso machine is broken or there is no regular coffee. The kids that work there are stressed because the are understaffed. Einstein's here in Longmont is one of my favorite places to grab a quick breakfast or sit and have a good cup of coffee and do homework. All their employees are exceptionally kind and are great to chat with. Obviously, they have their slow days, but what establishment doesn't? Since their change in management, all the employees, especially the shift leads, have had to make immense changes to how they work but they have overcome the problems. Disclaimer - I am a Colorado native and NOT from NY or any of those "bagel snob" places... That said, I think this place has the best bagels I've found locally, but this is a chain so I can't go higher than 3 stars. The bagels are soft enough that they don't break your teeth, but not so soft that you think you're eating Wonder bread. Good selection of sweet and savory bagels, good selection of smears, and lots of coffee options. And pretty darn inexpensive. My kids loved the half dozen candy cane bagels (they're not minty..I asked!...just red and white) with the low fat smear that I brought home, and the onion bagel with veggie smear (low-fat again) that I had for breakfast was great. I had to ask them to use only half the cream cheese they normally spread on, but they did as I asked, and I was happy. read more

Very good bagels for Colorado. I've been going there off-and-on for 3+ years now. However, whenever I have a 'complicated' bagel order (double cream cheese, double-toasted, open-face, to go) they always get it different every time no matter who's making the food or managing the place. Best bet is to take the raw ingredients to work and toast it and top it there. You get it the way you want it every time that way. Bagels are soft, not the typical NY-style 'hard-on-the-outside' kind. Very fresh. I'd stick to the bagels and steer away from the bagel-dogs and other lunch-stuff that's not a bagel or bagel sandwich. Bucket of 13 bagels with 3 cream cheeses is like $15.
