We hesitated to try this for quite some time based on the inconsistent reviews. But yesterday the family wanted Tacos, they are an option on Door dash so I went ahead and ordered off the lunch menu. We ordered a Lunch #3 and a 4 and 5 with ground beef. I wanted to try the tropical burger with fries. Out of all the food, the burger was the most flavorful, tho definitely over cooked. Fries were also seasoned well. None of the numbered lunches were satisfactory. The meat, the Mexican rice...nothing at all was seasoned. My daughter threw away her quesadilla, saying there was very little cheese and it all tasted like cardboard. My sons burrito was ok but meat again was not seasoned. This was the first time I saw my husband douse his tacos in hot sauce just to try to get flavor from it. Very disappointed. 2.5 stars for the food, however the delivery for door dash was very fast and all items were accounted for with a friendly driver so for that reason only I bumped it to 3. Bottom line is there are way too many good options locally to settle for bland. read more

We've been here multiple times (5 to be exact). I refrain from writing reviews when I'm with a group, so three of those times I would consider reviewable. On the three occasions spanning pre,early (before serious rules), and late covid I've failed to be impressed with the service here. You are usually greeted with chips almost immediately and of course ordering food comes just shortly after. Food arrives fairly fast and tastes as good as any other Mexican joint. The failure here is that on these three occasions I have been left stranded waiting for the server to come back. Very rude, poor service! I tried calling for a to go order, the gentleman hung up on me so I called back. He did this 3 more times. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and thought maybe there was something wrong with the phone so I went inside the restaurant to order. I then noticed he would rather have a conversation with his buddy then take my order. He was clearly purposely hanging up on me and the restaurant was completely dead! I love Mexican food. I've had it all over Mexico southern California Arizona Texas Alabama pretty much everywhere I've ever lived. Went to El Bracero tonight for dinner and had possibly the best Mexican meal I've ever had. Incredible menu, great wait staff, quick service, accommodating to special requests, and not overly expensive. Just an overall excellent experience. I had the Aztec burrito the tableside guacamole a lime margarita and a small bowl of the tomatillo salsa for added spice. $34 plus tip. read more

My Carne Asada plate was so tender with flavor! For a sit down Mexican restaurant, it was definitely authentic. Margaritas looked fantastic, and I will be back for those! My rice and beans were not overpowering and added a good balance. I am an avocado fiend so I'm so glad they added a couple slices of fresh avocado! Overall, I had a great experience. Let's be as polite as possible shall we? NO, As a yes white guy who's mother married into a Hispanic and German family this review is true to the point. I have never tasted Mexican that can honestly make Taco Bell more Hispanic cultured and with more flavor. Everything is either frozen or microwaved. So let's get started. Chips and salsa. Hmm typical free appetizer, but wait the salsa is not fresh and taste like Tostitos. The Corona beer, well no mess ups there. At least it was a lime and not a tomato. The main meal. 1. Tamale, well if my grandmother caught me trying to serve this she would beat my ass. Not a taste of corn in this mush of massa. And the most rubbery pork I have ever had... frozen I think yes 2. Refried beans. My god the can aisle in the grocery aisles would be laughing. How did these beans have not a hint of salt. 3. Taco/chalupa, I don't know about you but I'm sure everyone loves a taco with meat that has a kick or rich in flavor. My microwaved beef was such of wet dog food.. To those who rate this any Higher than a two, and call this the best Mexican food in town. I question if you have ever hat true Mexican food. Not one spice, not on kick, no flavor or sizzle. Had lunch there on Memorial Day. I had the Lunch Seafood and it was great. My wife enjoyed a Speedy Gonzales. Our server was Eduardo. We made a mistake when my wife told him she needed more time to make her selection, because Eduardo just vanished. He eventually returned and got our order and the food came out promptly. However, we never saw Eduardo again. After eating, we waited ten minutes. No drink refills. No manager stopping by. I finally went to the host station and asked our server's whereabouts. Suddenly he appeared as I stood waiting. Fastest I had seen Eduardo move all day. Well, no 20% tip for him. Could have timed him with a calendar. In the interest of disclosure, my family and I are regulars here. Is this the absolute best Mexican restaurant ever ? Sadly, no. However, it does have a lot going for it ! Firstly, this restaurant is popular; I suspect that it's because this is one of the few sit-down restaurants on this side of town that doesn't involve battling down Wilma Rudolph ~ timing is critical, because 6:30 PM on a Saturday night will see you milling about with one of those restaurant pagers in your hand. I prefer to hit it at the early dinner time, around 5PM, and you usually get seated right after you give up the number in your party. As with any place, service can be variable, but I've typically found it to be quick, polite and responsive. The food is tasty and portion sizes are good; at this point I've eaten most of the non-fish items on the menu, and I haven't had a bad dish yet. Also, if you are a fan of spicy things, they will bring you a bowl of "tomatillo sauce" on request, which is considerably spicier than the house salsa. I haven't dialed in on the "who to blame" but recently, it seems, they've acquired a new bartender, and occasionally the normally-yummy margaritas can come out a little bit off. It's a good value for the money, the service is typically good, the food is yummy without being gourmet, and it's a quick casual dining experience if you time to avoid the rush ... I always find this place busy with lots of cars parked outside. I took this as a good sign for a good restaurant. However, my overall experience was only fair to good. Even though it was very busy, we were seated very quickly. No wait time at 1230 on Sunday. Very good wait service. Our server was very attentive and kept our glasses filled all the time. He kept coming back to our table to make sure we were doing OK. Kitchen service was very quick, and our food came out after we had just a few chips and salsa. Perhaps that's very typical of Mexican restaurants. Food overall was somewhat lacking in flavor. You'd expect a good flavoring in Mexican food. Chicken fajita tasted like just chicken--didn't detect any marinade at all. It could've used at least some more salt or something. Tacos al pastor--again it lacked some flavoring. Carnita looked good, but it was very plain and needed something like cilantro or fresh onion. Even with the accompanying hot salsa, it didn't bring out the flavor of meat. Again, it could've used at least some salt. Rice and beans lacked some flavoring and tasted very bland. So, food altogether was disappointing experience for us. There's another Mexican restaurant not too far from this establishment. Food is better and price is lower. I'd prefer that location over this one. read more

Alas, I found rejoice. El Bracero was the perfect cure. My fajita nachos were gushing with flavor and queso. The salsa was, of course, divine. The chips? You bet your buttons they kept 'em coming! Cinco de Mayo! Not an ideal time to go to a Mexican restaurant, right? Well, we wanted to go for margarita and possibly some food. No, I was not that hungry as we were a little early for dinner and some of us had late lunch. Also, it was not even 5 PM yet. Once we got to the restaurant, we were told not to park in the restaurant's parking lot as it was really small and believe it or not, it was already packed. After parking the car at a different location, we made it to the entrance and the place was already full and a lot of people were waiting for tables. The place was not small but too large either. Needless to say, we had to wait around 45 minutes before we were seated. Busy as it was, the waiter was at our table within a minute of us sitting down and took our drink order. Couple of baskets of chips and some salsa were delivered and we asked for their spicy salsa. I do a lot of traveling and have tasted some that were supposed to be spicy, but did not live up to the spicy boasts from the places I have eaten. However, I must give credit for their spicy salsa as it met my spicy meter. The spicy meter, that is my mouth. The salsa actually had me sweating. That does not happen often. Okay, I digressed enough. The service was very good. No the waiter was not too attentive but service was still very good. Our drinks came out very quickly as did out food. I think this had to be record time on food coming out so quickly. Actually, one order was slow, I mean very slow. I would love to say it was a complicated order, but actually, it was the simplest order. One taco. Yes, just one taco ordered by my friend's wife and this did not come out until rest of us were nearly done with our food. If, I come back here, I will not order any taco. Especially, if I am hungry. I had the Wet Burrito with shredded chicken and it was not bad. Was it the best I've ever had? Absolutely not! But the enchilada sauce and the spicy salsa definitely made it better. Bottom line! Fresh tortillas are being made when you walk in. We had Brailla tacos and a taco salad. It was delicious! I'd probably ask for the queso on the side of the salad next time but I'm not complaining. I love this place. We have tried a few Mexican places in Clarksville and this has been our favorite by a long shot. The margaritas and cheese dip are so good. We've tried some chimichangas, quesadillas, fajitas, and taco salads. I wouldn't order the taco salad again just because it was rather soupy and didn't have much lettuce/tomato. The supreme nachos are my favorite. They come with all the good things including chicken and steak. Can't wait for our next meal there! read more

Only giving 3 stars because the food was good. The servers were ALL rude and seemed to all have quite a bad attitude. The mood here was just not good on the Sunday we came in. The other issue is a significant health concern. If you look up in the restaurant you will notice the whole ceiling is covered in molding tiles that drip down onto the tables. We ended up with these dripping down on our table and into some of the food. This place needs some remodeling and the employees need to learn some customer service skills. read more

Probably the best Mexican place we have found in Clarksville since moving here in May 2022. The orders have always been correct and on time, and the taste has been outstanding. The items are well-packaged, and the temperature is what it should be. The restaurant looks clean, and the employees are hospitable. Second bad experience here. I won't give them a third chance. So the first bad experience happened about three months ago. I didn't post a review then because I figured it was a fluke. That experience was probably 3 stars. This experience however made it 1 star. I tried calling to place an order and was hung up on. I though it was disconnected so I called back and was hung up on. At this point, I was mad. I waited a bit and called back to mention the service and now a lady answered and said, "Oh...well what do you want?" No apology, nothing. Although the service was a little on the slow side, it's understandable because it was Saturday evening and packed. Only two of us so no wait to be seated. Waiter was friendly and helpful and kept our drinks refilled. When i asked the waiter what she would suggest off the menu, she said that the " El bracero Seafood" was a popular choice. Not the best seafood i ever had but still delicious, And it's huge. For desert i ordered a " chimi cheesecake" and it's honestly what dreams are made of, lol.
