I needed an oil change so I brought my car to El Cajon ford. I only wanted and oil change but they took all my tires off, inspected brakes and took a really long time. After they were done, they recommended new tires and wipers. My tires were not worn at all. My wipers were a bit old but not to the point where I neeed new ones. Any way, after that they told me I had a transmission leak. I found that odd because my car never leaked anything, ever. The guy told me, it was a possible transmission leak and if I wanted they could inspect it and tell me for sure where it was coming from. I declined and left. My car was leaking engine oil. I finally took it to my usual mechanic. He changed the oil and filter and it never leaked again. I'll never go to El Cajon ford and I don't recommend them to anyone. read more

I recently made my way into El Cajon Ford with a scheduled appointment with the sales man Mike Mitzel and I really can't say enough good things about him and how we were treated at EC Ford. The car I was interested in was a used 2015 Chrysler 200 Limited. (something I've always wanted) Mike informed us that the car was at their Santee used lot so in no time at all, we hopped into a car and headed to Santee to check it out. Upon arriving, I saw the car and was so excited because it was even more beautiful in person. We hopped in that and took it for a spin and needless to say, I was in love. Mike got started on paperwork and running numbers right away which I really appreciated because we all know how long that process can take. We had an answer from the bank in no time at all and I was ready to sign on the dotted lines to make the baby mine! As a first time buyer, Mike really took care of me. Explaining all the details and offered me things such as GAP, scotch guard, etc. I went with the GAP coverage (no brainer) & we were on our way back to El Cajon Ford to finish the paper work! Upon arriving back to EC Ford and a little bit of waiting, I was introduced to Andrew in finance who was an ALL STAR. He had all the paper work ready and good to go! We talked briefly and Andrew was such a down to earth easy going guy, he really made the signing and finalizing process a breeze! I went ahead and also purchased extended service as well as maintenance coverage and Andrew did so good at explaining both contracts to me and getting me a killer deal on them! So pleased to have worked with him! Not long until the car was ready to go, fully detailed and we were shortly on our way out with the car of my dreams! I have mixed feelings about this review. Parts of our experience were excellent, and parts were dismal. I contacted the Internet sales department, and worked with Bobby Morales on the car we were interested in. No complaints with Bobby. He paid attention to what we wanted, and found the exact car we were looking for. When it came time to meet and work out the deal, we were to meet at their outlet location in Santee. Bobby was off that day, and passed the torch to John Clark. John was very helpful, and worked with us on nailing down a time to meet. At the last minute, John was not able to make it, and handed us off to Matt Duff. Matt was wonderful, and I have nothing but high praise for him. The problem was the Manager at the Santee location, Mike West. We arrived with our trade in before our salesman Matt arrived with the vehicle. Mike told us he was going to get information on the car, and proceeded to walk around it, take notes, etc. He was gruff, insensitive, and rude. We were trading in a 12 year old car, and didn't have the highest expectations, but still, this was our first face to face contact with the dealership, and to say we weren't impressed would be an understatement! Mike continued to poke around, and then said "what color is this car anyways?" The car has some peeling paint, but it is obviously black! He mumbled a few more things, and then went back into his trailer to crunch numbers. Matt finally arrived, and things started to look up. If he had not been as personable and friendly as he was, we would have walked away from the sale. Dealership owner take note... Friendly salesmen = sales and happy customers. Sherri the finance lady was fun also. I would give she and Matt 5 stars each! I always ask for a free oil change when I buy a car. That is my gage as to whether they are interested in having my business in their service department after my purchase. Most dealerships will do this. El Cajon Ford did not. There was also a big runaround with the items on my due bill. They said it would take 15 minutes. We were there for 3 hours! Also, we have not received any kind of follow up phone call from the dealership to see how we like our car, etc. Sorry guys, I'm taking my service department business to Kearny Pearson Ford! I purchased my vehicle here used 2 yrs ago with a safe already installed FF to today and after over a dozen attempts to get the code and now I have driver side AC and passenger side stuck on HEAT. Enter these 2. In a matter of 10 min I had the code had it opened and changed it to my code (bada$$ safe BTW) and after prev being told they would need to keep my car for 2 days and no rental avail. They knew the issue called someone explained the issue they are ordering the part and will call me when it comes in to have it installed. YALL 10 MIN!!! Giving 1 star because Ron the service manager is the worst manager I have ever dealt with in my life. I had a simple miscommunication with a team member and when they said Ron would be willing to speak with me I was thinking it would be resolved. The first thing he said to me was "I'm not going to help you." Didn't explain why there was a miscommunication (they told me the wrong info and are not willing to fix it) or was in no way willing to hear my story. He said I should have common sense and should be not stupid enough to know. I told him as a first time car buyer, things are not common sense. I will never purchase another Ford product or visit this dealership again. I visited the Ford quick lane to get an oil change on my Ford Ranger on 02/21/23, was told it would be a 5 hour wait at 10:00am because they were very busy. How can an oil change at a place called "Quick Lane" take 5 hours. I did not wait because I had to pick up my son from school at 2. I returned on 03/07/23 and was told it would be a 5 hour wait because they were having computer issues. My wife came to pick me up and I left my truck there. 4 and a half hours later I get a call from Joel that my truck was ready. He left a message that the front passenger shock was leaking and needs to be replaced. I go in to pay for my oil change and there are 3 employees working and two of them both try to help me and are told by Joel that he will help me. After waiting for 5 minutes, Joel finishes helping the customer in front of me. Joel informs me the shock replacement will be $525. I asked Joel about the shock being covered by the 3 year or 36000 mile bumper to bumper warranty he said, "No it is not covered because the warranty ended on 03/05/23." It was going to cost $525 to replace the shock that was 2 days past the warranty, the truck only has 22,000 miles. I would have no issues with it not being replaced if the truck was at 36000 miles. Joel suggested if I file a complaint Ford might cover 30% of the cost, but they might not cover any of it. If Ford really cares about great customer service they would have some solutions to situations like this. If I had left the truck on 02/21/23 the shock would have been replaced for free. Shocks should last 50000 miles, there was obviously a defect with this shock to fail at 22000 miles on a truck that has never been off road. Everybody jokes about products that are designed to fail after the warranty runs out. I guess this must be true in this case, a shock that should last 50000 miles fails two days after the warranty runs out at 22000 miles. Ford has lost a loyal customer and any future sales from my family. The next truck I buy will be a Toyota Tacoma. read more

We had such a great experience taking our Explorer to the El Cajon Ford Service department. The dreaded check engine light came on, so we called and were able to make an appointment for the next morning. Jessica Blake was very helpful and hands-on throughout the process, calling to give updates on our vehicle. I forgot the technician's name, but he was extremely helpful and was very thorough with his inspection, and was able to fix the problem. He also highlighted some possible future problems (we bought it used with high mileage), and gave us some quotes so we know what to budget for just in case it happens. We had also taken the car in a couple of weeks ago because it had some recalls on it, and Carlos was just as helpful as Jessica with calling and emailing with updates. I dropped my truck off to get an issue few issues fixed, Mechanical, they did a great job and fix the issue, but on the customer service end, they blew it. My wife went to pick up our vehicle and was greeted with service rep telling her he was off 2 minutes ago and couldn't help her, then he took the lords name in vain and walked away, another service rep that was there directed my with to the receptionist who could help her. I understand the boys will be boys attitude when you are around your boys, but what does it take for a boy to be a man in a woman's presence. This is a review of El Cajon Fords service department only as we have had stellar buying experiences with the sales department. First off if you bring your vehicle in and line up in the service line, you can forget about a service writer coming out to your vehicle. No one will come out. You have to go inside and find out which service writer has been assigned to you and then hope they are available. I purchased a 22' Maverick Hybrid and had an issue with the brakes grabbing at low speeds. I brought it in and the service writer had no clue why that would happen. I spent five minutes on Google and found a Ford service bulletin which addressed the problem. It was a software update and they told me they needed the vehicle for 24 to 48 hours. The repair was done in a matter of hours but I had to set up a ride to take me there even though I had planned on it taking a day or two. I traded my 22' in for 24' that I ordered. It had a little over 2000 miles when I received a recall notice. I brought it in and explained to the service writer that it also had an intermittent problem with the engine surging when I was stopped at a light or stop sign. If I had let my foot off the brake it would have surged into the intersection. He explained that if it was intermittent all they could do was check for a service code and that they might nor be able to identify the problem. I told him I completely understood and then he wanted me to sign a service contract to diagnose the problem for a 189.00 diagnostic fee. He said if they found a problem and it was covered under warranty they would wave the fee. I declined to pay that amount which I felt should have been covered under warranty in any case. Even though the recall notice from Ford said the repair should take a half a day,they said the repair would take 24 to 48 hours, sound familiar? I dropped it off late in the afternoon and received a call the first thing the next morning that it was done. I arranged a ride and went in to pick up my vehicle. Even though I was given the paper work from the cashier and told to pick up my vehicle the attendant would not give me my keys and made me follow her back to the cashier to get my keys and laughed when I asked her if I could finally get my keys. When I got home I found another Ford service bulletin addressing engine surges on hybrids. I don't feel that the service writers are well trained and their customer service is abysmal. It looks like I need to find another dealer for my service work. read more

our 2016 ford 250 broke down on hwy 8 in Alpine - we called our insurance and they sent a tow truck 3 hours later. They pulled the truck to El Cajon Ford where we left it because it was not running. Memorial day weekend so we didn't hear anything back until Tues May 31st. The service manager called to advise us that the motor seized up and no parts were available maybe until Nov at a cost of 19,000 - what joke - obviously he didn't want our business. We ordered a towing company here in Arizona to pick up the truck and bring it back to Az. The tow trucker said they brought the truck out side ways and would not allow him to come into the yard he said I have to get this truck out they were mad that he blocked some for other cars in the lot. I called Carlos Martinez 3 times to get the report on what they did to the truck and how they came to that conclusion after calling a 4th time I finally got the report I also called and left a message for the service manager to call me he never did. Not really happy with the service and $250 I had to pay for nothing. They don't do a good job handling customers or service. read more

When we went to buy our car at El Cajon Ford - it was a BREEZE! They were fast, knew what we were looking for and made the whole process super EASY! We could not have been more happy and impressed! And then... Fast forward a year, someone hits my car and I had to have work done on my right back panel on my car side. I wanted to also replace the glass coating after the paint work was done that we purchased on our car when we bought it - David of El Cajon Ford - said NO problem bring it in. Not only did they let us bring it in at our convenience, they gave us a loaner vehicle while we waited! Not only did they redo the glass coating - on the WHOLE CAR - and cleaned our car when they returned it.... it was all done in a matter of hours and we got our car back on the same day! And the cherry on top - ALL FREE!! I mean come on.... service and care does NOT get any better than that!! I am compelled to write about El Cajon Ford!! We took our car for a tuneup at another Ford dealership - and I was sooooo frustrated and had a horrible wait - I will ALWAYS drive the extra distance for the excellent service I get at El Cajon Ford. Warning any interaction with this dealership will be at your own risk! On December 17, 2021 I returned to this dealership so that warranty work could be completed. This was the final time that I had expected to have any business with them due to other damage being done to my car from replacing a part at a previous date. Ford Corporate advised me to go back to El Cajon Ford so that they could fix the damage which would be at no cost to myself. After completion of the service I noticed that my car had been tampered with as none of the tire pressure sensors were reading or acknowledging the tires and my vehicle had been keyed!!!! PLEASE spare yourself of this place. ALWAYS ALWAYS, take video, photos, write down names of EVERYONE you come in contact with, and notate the events that occur. But in all honesty just go to another dealership all together. It is well worth it to have peace of mind and to not need to have your property vandalized when your car should be cared for while being fixed. My service advisor Guillermo **** was not very helpful when I brought to his attention that my vehicle had been vandalized. This of course was not very surprising as at a previous time there was a lot of disrespect towards me as a customer and as a result I informed the dealership as well as corporate on how unprofessional my experience had been. At a previous time when my vehicle was brought in for service there was reluctance to diagnose nor discuss the concerns I had for my vehicle, yet my entire vehicle is completely under warranty. Even the service advisor manager David **** was extremely condescending and misleading as he would promise to have even the things he was expressing to me in writing for me to pickup when I was to arrive, yet when confronted in person he claimed to be too busy to do so. The day that my vehicle was vandalized at El Cajon Ford I brought this to the service advisor Guillermo **** attention and he instantly said that he didn't key my car. I also brought up the tire pressure sensor not reading and Guillermo **** also expressed that he didn't touch it and that they, El Cajon Ford, would have no reason to do so since they were fixing the camera bezel. Guillermo **** told me that my vehicle was like that when I brought it in. I told Guillermo **** that his claim was shocking as I had photos of my vehicle and the tire pressure was even reading properly when I came in. Guillermo **** in a shocked tone questioned why I would have photos of my car. At that point Guillermo **** made an effort to get someone to "retrain" my tires. Video footage from the dealership was asked to be shown of my vehicle and it was conveniently not working that day. Guillermo ended up writing a report that he in the beginning had refused to write when I had initially asked him at the time I brought to his attention that I needed a report/claim of the vandalism done at El Cajon Ford. El Cajon Ford is a joke I'm a business owner in the plumbing industry. I've bought several vehicles from Paul Dyke. He's a rude son of a gun and I always see him at the bar drinking heavily and driving home anyway I brought my F354 truck in the guy Lamar wouldn't return my phone calls and then when I called upon it, he lied and said he called me back never happened. I finally came in after five days to pick up my F350 that was getting detailed by the manager David Gutierrez several messages for him never called me back I was called Call back by Lamar, telling me my truck was done. I rushed down to get it and they had done nothing with it. He never apologized and he was the worst salesman ever when I got on the freeway and I built up speed there is a huge air leak coming from somewhere so I pulled over to see if one of the doors are open they were fine. I checked my sunroof in my black lariat and it would not close something happened while it was at El Cajon Ford, I called David Gutierrez left a messages would never call back finally got a hold of him and told him about my sunroof. His exact words were not our fault. Our guys are professionals they don't make mistakes and I said no the detailers opened up the sunroof and then forced it shut the pieces of the railing on the floor, and in the cupholder he said they use ladders and don't touch the truck inside the truck somebody was in the truck somebody was in the back bed because he was all cleaned out. My truck only has 40,000 miles on it told me to screw myself, I asked him for, the detailers name and he wouldn't tell me by they have to tell me who their subcontractors are and if their licensed have a bond Workmen's Comp. and then he said when you come down, I'll show you all of the Paperwork you need for superior detailing, and he was sure that they had all the credentials, but he never even called him. I can't find them anywhere online he told me they wouldn't fix it and that I needed a new sunroof and it cost me $3500. Wow this guy doesn't know what the truth even is I made an appointment with Paul Dyke and David Gutierrez when I got there I got the evil eye from David Paul came in to David's office. We are sat down. Paul was furious with me. He didn't even want to hear my story or give me any certificates of verification for their detailer. Paul told me he was sick of my crap and handed me my keys and told me to get out of the office and don't ever come back, he made me feel like a fool. I've been sick about it all day. These guys lie they don't call you back ever and then say they did out of the seven cars. I bought here and vans and my family bought cars here too. Took my 2017 Ford Escape into Quick Lane to get my oil changed and 2 hours later I was about to be on my way when I noticed my air conditioning wasnt blowing cool air. I waited a while then asked for assistance. Eventually I was led over to Service department where I met John Karanopoulos who is a service department advisor. He didn't have to, but he decided to take my car in to get looked at. Not right away, but within a couple of hours I got a diagnosis of the problem and eventually they fixed my issue. Scheduled service online for early morning because I had an appointment. When I arrived for my 7:00 am oil change, I was told my service person was not in until 8:00 am. I explained I had made an appointment for 7 online and was then told that "one of us will help you and it's first come first served". Obviously the online scheduling is a waste of time which means that this dealership doesn't value your time. The whole reason for an appointment is so that it fits into YOUR schedule - not theirs. The price for my oil change was outrageous, the customer service was minimal, and they don't keep their appointments or update the service portion of their website. I purchased a new Ford Explorer XLT this past Saturday from El Cajon Ford. I knew exactly what I wanted and I filled out an inquiry on the website. Bought a 2020 Ranger from Lisa at the dealership at the end of October. I love my Truck and wanted to get a spray on bed liner for it. I shopped around. Went to SoCalTruck, and Line- X. The best quote I got was from the dealership. They deal directly with Line-X which quoted me $529. The dealership put in the same liner in from Line X for $475 out the door.
