Popped in Sunday evening while we walked around town finding a place to hang in and decided this place due to the crowd and ambience. It was sadly just OK. It was cool to sit at their booths and order drinks but the food was disappointing. Everything we ordered was very different from what we expected. The queso fundido was almost dry with a lot of sausage on top. It was tasty but definitely not the soft cheesy dip you'd expect. Also barely any chips accompanied the dish. The corn was quite tasty. The brisket quesadillas were honestly just OK. The fish tacos were also just Ok. We were excited to try their chicharron but they were just pork grinds-super disappointing. The chicken fajita platter was tasty and very sizzling. The drinks were actually pretty good but when we ordered another round we waited and waited and waited and finally had to cancel because the wait was over 20 minutes. I love the fact that El Camino has a weekend happy hour! It has a ton of tacos and small bites to choose from and it was great, even though we caught the tail end of it. I got the carnitas taco and ale bought that isn't my usual taco of choice, our waiter recommended it and he was on point. Went for an early dinner to celebrate Cinco de Mayo a day early and we are so glad we gave it a shot. We love delray but have always gone to Roccos Tacos and this is much better. No wonder its always packed the service was great, our server was very attentive and I like how they run the place like a tight ship, food and drinks come out within a decent amount of time and everything was nice and presentation was on point. The ambiance was fun and welcoming and had nice music playing. The watermelon jalapeño margarita was delicious!! Very refreshing, fresh watermelon juice, and just a hint of spice that was not overpowering. The strawberry mojito was just as delicious, very flavorful and not a mix. My hubby loved it, and he loved how his taco combos came out. All very savory nothing else was needed. My enchiladas with achote chicken was delicious. Just wow. We were recommended to come here by a local Boca business. We came right after happy hour on a Saturday so the place was pretty bustling. We were able to be seated within 15 minutes. The chips and salsa are such phenomenal bang for your buck. I'm not sure I've ever had better chips or salsa. I ordered the kiwi mint margarita and it was refreshing and not too sweet but it also wasn't overwhelmingly tequila which was lovely. We ordered tamales and though I didn't love the outside, I found it too thick, I did find that their brisket is absolutely divine. This led us to ordering the brisket enchiladas. 10/10. Perfect. The creamy green sauce was my favorite while my boyfriend loved the red sauce. I almost get mad when we go to delray to try somewhere new because this place is perfect. Two lovely ladies dame with me to dinner and we all shared a bunch of stuff. All of it was eaten and most of it was better than expected. She was a star! Drinks were strong! Queso fundido: excellent! Lots of good flavored chihuahua cheese and yummy mushrooms. I'm talking bout perfectly sautéed mushrooms and yummy cheese and warm tortilla chips. This one right here was special. OCTOPUS! I always get octopus when I see it on a menu. This one was surprisingly delicious and tender. Perfect charred flavor and yummy texture and bite. Overall dish concept is pretty unique and I loved every bit of it. Mex Corn was nice and classic-ish. No fancy shmancy version that tastes more tex mex than classic street food from Mexico. Bravo for that, not amazing but Better than the competition listed above. (The others have yummy versions don't get me wrong, I just liked El Caminos version best, maybe? Haha yesterday I did) Se ordered shrimp and fish tacos and well, let's say they tasted okay. Shrimp quality is okay. Size is smallish medium, just ok. Fried fish was also okay. Fresh and nicely setup but flavor was just ok for me. Tasty but not a Homerun. Recently however, I went in with my friend. I had the Avocado salad with Shrimp. The Avocados were perfectly ripe, the shrimp was perfectly cooked, ( you get only 4, there must be a shortage in the ocean), they sprinkle a little Queso fresco cheese, just perfect!!! We shared chips and salsa, crunchy fresh and on point. Washed it down with grapefruit Sangria, perfect and not watered down. For desert we had the Nutella Flan, just ok. Definitely a place to go back to. P.s. do not sit by the windows, it gets too hot, the windows are not tinted! read more

The tacos, over all, were good, but nothing that can compare to my main place, tacos el bronco. The first bite of the pork belly taco was good, but then it was just eh for the rest of it. The shrimp was good, and the chorizo taco had a nice spice to it. The octopus taco was more cabbage than octopus. As far as the rice, it was hard, but the beans were good. After multiple dining experiences here I can finally say I'm over it and won't be back. We had the chicken tacos for happy hour on our first or second visit and I remember thinking they were too spicy for me. This is extremely rare being that I live on chipotle hot sauce, love Extra Spicy margs and love anything spicy. Second time we came we got the fajitas combo with steak and chicken. I asked if they could use less oil/butter when cooking and they still came out disgustingly oily. I also asked for a size of veggies which I thought was going to be zucchini and squash like our server had told us. To our surprise it's basically just a bu ch of corn, yuck I hate corn. Fortunately the server took them off our bill since we didn't eat any. The fajitas were so greasy we both felt sick after. The steak was super chewy also, seemed like poor quality. So now after tonight our 4th or 5th visit we got happy hour tacos and margs again. I always get the spiced pear marg and ask for it extra spicy (more fire bitters) and it's delish! I opted for the chicken tacos again since I love chicken. Our server was nice enough to bring the "hot sauce" on the side. Yet again the chicken was tooo spicy. And this time it seemed like all fatty dark meat. Yucky. The chips were overly salted and greasy as well this time. About 5 hours later and my husband and I still have a stomach ache from all the grease. I can't recommend this place for the food, at alll! Go to Roccos. Drinks are great though! You can never go wrong here! Great music, intoxicating atmosphere, amazing service, and outstanding food. Came here for a late birthday lunch, and decided to do the usual chips and salsa (so salty and yummy my personal fav) with green and red salsa, and didn't want much of a meal because I did really just come for some drinks and ambience, to just get away from it all and to relax. Chose the grilled Spanish octopus and it was SUCH a winner in my book, it had a green verde salsa but it was much more complex than that, and some pickled radishes on the side with a ball of cauliflower, it really did hit the nail on the head. All of the margaritas I had were a masterpiece, and I had 3 bartenders all dishing them out, each one better than the next. Drinks are consistent, and the staff is so excellent with how they wait on you, whether you sit at the bar or you're at a table.
