My husband and I were referred to this restaurant. We finally made it tonight with friends. We all loved the food, drinks, chips, salsa and the service was the best ever! We all had a variety of dishes all excellent and the best Mexican food in Spokane for sure. We will definitely be back. The new owners have only been open for 6 months and we wish them much success. The only issues is the sign for the restaurant was not on at 5:00 pm ( I'm assuming time change issue) and the parking lot lights were not on at 6:30 and it was very very dark. I've been going to this restaurant since 2014....we used to eat there at least once a month sometimes more. The past year we have noticed they have gone down hill....using cheaper ingredients. Took a chance on our way home from the lake. I was skeptical because of some reviews I read. Not sure what those other Yelpers were talking about but the food here is freaking amazing. The flavor of the picadillo and chile Colorado was amazing. Coke tasted like true Mexican coke. I had flautas and they were perfectly cooked. Hot, not greasy and packed full of meat and flavor. It took us over 5 years to finally find some good Mexican food that tastes like home. My only complaint is it's not closer to where I live. read more

This restaurant is fairly well hidden not far from Walmart. We arrived for lunch on Sunday just after it opened. They were ready to serve us and our food arrived quickly. As we were here early the whole restaurant was very quiet. I had my usual burrito and we also ordered three taco salads. All the food tasted good. The chips and salsa were fresh and also quite tasty. Although I ordered chicken, my burrito was filled with hamburger. Not a major problem as I had already eaten half the burrito before I realized their mistake. Solid guacamole and good flavors all around. Depending on how hungry you are, you should be filled up on whatever you order as portions are generous. Salsa and chips come complimentary and were placed on our table lightening fast. The cabbage salsa is a tad dry for my tastes, but mixing the two salsas together resulted in close to perfection. We stopped by this place to eat and it was absolutely horrible. The dishes are not clean and the food tastes so bad. The silverware has white goo on it looks so nasty. The food looks appetizing but is not what it looks like. The steak tastes like it was boiled and then briefly grilled to add the lines. The tacos are disgusting too, the shells aren't cooked and the cheese isn't baked and everything is cold. The chicken is half warm and cold. Not coming back. read more

This is a great little Mexican gem out in Airway Heights. Inside is very clean and cozy with nicely painted murals on the walls. Seating is not super fancy but very comfortable. The servers are all very friendly and welcoming. Like friends. The food is very good, with decent sized portions for a reasonable price. Just a warning in the chips and salsa. The veggie and spice mix they bring out with the salsa will REALLY kick up the heat a notch if you mix it all together. It is good, but it is definitely a slow burn in the making. My personal favorite entree thus far is the Chili Colorado, with a very tasty red sauce and super tender beef. One final note. Any military (past or present) with a valid form of ID get 10% off their entree, so that is nice. I have been to a lot of Mexican places (including Mexico itself 3 times) and I would definitely say this is one of the better spots I have ever been to. Happened upon this place on my way out of Spokane. The food was amazing! The portions were huge. The waitress was extremely helpful with recommendations. All four in our party order a different item off the menu and each was delicious. The Enchiladas Colorado were a hit. The food is so good and unique. Not what you would from a Mexican restaurant in a strip mall. What a happy accident! I drive through this area several times per year and this is going to be my new stop. So when they first opened we ate here a few times and we were less than impressed... so we didn't try them again for a long time... Then we met some friends here about 18 months ago... dreading the meal... and it was fantastic!!! This little joint is family owned, very well decorated in hispanic decor, and offers a full bar. Although a 10% military discount, the food was not Mexican style more common in Southern states adjacent to Mexico. They also are not amenable to substitute. Tacos al Carbon tortillas were greasy and the super hot plates made it difficult to pick them up to eat. The kids taco with ground beef was greasy and the taco shell appeared store bought and broken. It would be nice to have a taco cheese enchilada combo rather than having a beef or chicken based on your taco. Margarita pitcher was good and on can easily fill 6 glasses, not the four as told. Very much grandma gringo. Impressive things were: the nice china ware for our meal, great plating for their entrees, and plenty of free parking. That's about it. Their product was....okay. This is one where the plates pass the eye test, but the food doesn't pass the taste test. Chips and salsa were FSA mundane. Complimentary slaw was lacking seasoning, and the portion wouldn't have satisfied my goldfish. Yeah, I could have asked for more, but why bother when we didn't care for it? Everything needed the weak salsa to bolster the flavor, and the rice's texture was day-old. Layout of interior was weird, too. It didn't give you a sense of being around people, for lack of a better way of putting it. We went at lunch, and it just seemed....dark. Glad to see they have the hard stuff, but their pour was pretty weak, compared to other Mex joints I've enjoyed. Biggest laugh came from the corn flakes on our Fried Ice Cream. They tasted like they were processed during the Truman administration. Our server had to work the whole dining area, was pleasant enough, and will get a pass from me for not being Mrs. Sunshine while she was hustling. That's all I've got for ya. Their vegetarian burrito was more like a bean and rice burrito with some lettuce sprinkled all over it. (How about some grilled vegetables inside?) Spanish rice was WAY too salty. The food was about the same as most run of the mill mexican joints, with the exception their chef is obviously a chain smoker...too much salt!! The waiter had the personality of a constipated turtle and got at one order wrong and then screwed up two things on the bill. They just decided they not longer accept their own coupons. If that is going to be the case, they shouldn't be included in Spokane coupon book that costs $20.
