    Tofu bun mee

I'm a big fan of bun mee. I've been going to the location on Fillmore Street and figured it would be the same. Yum. We went there today to pick up sandwiches to take to Moscone. It's the first weekend of spring! The sandwiches are so good. They ask if you want jalapeños and of course, we do! I got the tofu bun mee because it's the only vegetarian option. He got the first item on the sandwich menu which was the five spice chicken. The bread is crunchy and fresh. Yum! I love the ratio of carrots and cilantro. I'm taking one star off my delicious experience because they have beer and wine on their menu, but don't have their liquor license apparently to serve. They should just cover up that part of their menu to be transparent. If you do want beer or wine, go to Marina Deli otherwise, get Vietnamese New Orleans style coffee.

I am soooo happy a bun mee opened in the marina. There bun mee sandos are the best I have had in the city and its location near chestnut is ideal for marina bites. I have also tried the noodles but the sand which is far superior imo. Friends staff and wait times for food was short. PLEASE DO YOUR SELF A FAVOR AND GO HERE!

Chicken Banh Mi and Crispy Egg Rolls

I was excited to see another Banh Mi spot open up in the Marina. I got a chicken banh mi and crispy egg rolls. I used to go to Asian Box nearby for Banh Mi in the area and this one was a lot better -- it was packed with veggies but still didn't feel like too much, the chicken was tender, and the bread was a good texture. The crispy egg rolls and sauce it came with were rich in flavor as well! My friend got a lemongrass tofu and enjoyed it as well, and mentioned this would become a go to spot for her. The service was good as well and prices were reasonable. This is a good spot for affordable, quick, high quality food!

Bun Mee opened last week in the Marina but I discovered this location yesterday while walking the dog. I stopped by for takeaway lunch & ordered the classic combo sandwich without jalapeño or onions & a golden milk tea boba. The dining room is a decent size for a quick meal if you're planning on dining in & neat & clean. My sandwich was ready in less than 10 minutes. The baguette was nice & crispy & the filling was a generous amount of pate, mortadella & lemongrass pork. The cucumbers & pickled daikon & carrots added brightness & additional flavor. It's a pretty big sandwich so I only ate half. The golden milk boba tea is actually black tea with milk, boba & sugar. It runs on the sweet side. Service is quick, friendly & helpful. Welcome to the Marina neighborhood Bun Mee! I'm glad that I don't have to go to the Tenderloin for a good Vietnamese sandwich & will return to try other menu items soon,

    Crispy Fried Chicken Bun

Bun Mee nailed their crispy fried chicken bun! The chicken contained all the crispy and juicy goodness you expect from fried chicken and was elevated with the fluffy bun, slaw and sauce! SOO GOOD! The young man who took our order on 11/2, midday was very welcoming and helpful, proving that good customer service elevates any dining experience. We also had another person (perhaps the manager) come out and check on us which was more than what I would expect from a order at the register restaurant. Restaurant was clean with plenty of indoor seating. Bun Mee definitely won me over today!

    Chicken pho

Came across this place near my hotel and got their chicken pho and a lychee vanilla tea. Chicken pho definitely needs more flavor and wish they didn't cook the bean sprouts in my pho. My lychee vanilla tea had short brown hair in it also which is disgusting. Service was fast and the tables outside are clean. Definitely have to try out their chicken sandwich and salad next time.

I came in on a Saturday at lunch time and I was the only one there. I got a Classic Combo sandwich and some sort of strawberry lemonade type drink that I think they make themselves. They have a good amount of seating (inside only) if you want to eat there. The bread was nice and crispy, but I was underwhelmed by the pork- it was kind of chewy. The mortadella was sliced so thin and there wasn't much so you could hardly taste it. Pate was good but I would have liked more. Pickled veggies were nice and crisp. Drink was good and not too sweet! Staff was very nice.

Top notch service. They had really friendly counter staff people that remembered your name, which was appreciated. Food came out fast, and food was yummy! Good portion size too. Plenty of seating indoors that I enjoyed. I will likely be back

    Five spice chicken banh mi

Banh mi in the Marina? Much needed! I ordered the five spice chicken and it was super tender, with good flavor. They give a decent amount of meat. The bread I enjoyed since it wasn't too toasted, a bit softer than a baguette. Overall, ingredients tasted fresh and high quality.

I ordered bun mee take out for delivery. I got the 5 spiced chicken banh mi and it was better than I expected! The chicken was well seasoned and tender. I chose to get japalenos on the side bc I wasn't sure how much spice I wanted. Overall, I would definitely get this again!

    Rainbow Salad with Tofu
    Matt J.

Bun Mee was solid and likely a repeater, albeit not a total slam dunk. It's important to note that the people there were super friendly and accommodating with making recommendations, guiding me toward vegetarian options and hooking us up with extra dressing and sauce. The Rainbow Salad was fresh and appealing but could use some help in the flavor department. The green goddess dressing was nice but could use more salt and a greater quantity to better coat the salad fixings. Plus, it wouldn't hurt for them to mix it in for you even if it might hamper the titular "rainbow" presentation. The tofu was really well seasoned but the overall salad suffered from a bolus of cabbage that overwhelmed the flavor of the tofu and the dressing. Overall, I think it's just tweaks away from a really good dish but needs some massaging.

Best bahn mi in the city. Very friendly staff and outstanding food. Highly recommended!

Efficient service. Good food. Even checked back to fill water while eating. Had better banh mi sandwich but still good. Wish the jalapenos were spicier but I guess it can vary by time. Sweet potato fries were a hit. Five spice potato fries were yummy as well.

Indeed the Twisted Street Cafe is one of my favorite all-time breakfast places in San Francisco. I moved back up two years ago. It was important to me to identify the best breakfast houses since breakfast is one of my most important meals of the day for me. I spent a couple weeks, trying out various places. In frankly was quite leery of anything on Lombard Street due to traffic, congestion, dirt and noise. And there were a few that I tried that were not worthy. When I came across the Twisted Street Cafe, I Immediately, I knew it was different. Small, boutique, but fresh fresh fresh food. This is the type of restaurant who remembers your name and I remember your favorite orders As an example, I was working from home and on a series of conference calls so I ordered Twisted Street Cafe from DoorDash. I clearly didn't pay attention to my order and it made a couple of errors on what my usual would be. They knew it was for me, somehow, and called me to verify if I wanted it done my regular way or the way it was came across their order. Of course I want it done the way I would normally have it, and I thanked them profusely for recognizing the mistake and helping to correct it for me. Their food is fresh. Their smoothies are incredibly tasty and fulfilling. They are located on the ground floor next to a very nice boutique hotel. I usually get takeout but on weekends, I'll choose to sit outside in the sun. Clearly, they have fantastic employees who are passionate about their job and really get to know their customers. Highly recommend Twisted Street Cafe for great food and consistency. 5-stars!!

We put our name down for a table and within 20 minutes or less we were sat down. The ambience, aesthetic and vibe pulled us in, the entire staff, from the host, to the server, were all attentive, friendly, and welcoming. Now the food, everything on the menu looked appealing, I am pescatarian and follow a specific meal every day, so of course being out, I had to go for the spicy rigatoni vodka pasta with shrimp, as the protein. LOJ provided the type of service I recall working in, as I have restaurant staff experience, drinks were never empty, plates were removed as soon as we were done utilizing them, and not in one moment did I/we feel rushed, all of us were happy with each item we ordered. We also dug into desserts, I had the cheesecake, it was so smooth, soft, fresh & delicious, I have not had a cheesecake that just melts in your mouth like this. If you're in the City, I highly recommend and don't miss out on the desserts, I for sure will be coming back here sooner than later, just for the food. LOJ you hit the mark on this place and menu!

Great value and great flavor and enough for two meals. So good that we went back a few weeks later and they added a special southwestern wrap, and somehow this one was even better! I hope they make this a staple on their menu because honestly I think I like the flavor profile better than the traditional cesar wrap. Egg salad sando / 7-Eleven: Best egg salad sando I've had…read morethus far in the city. Better than the more popular Japanese eateries/cafes. The bread is nicely soft, moist, and not too thick. Crust is light. The third slice helps break up the richness of the filling, and by being so thin (but not too thin), it keeps the overall bread:filling ratio in a good spot. It also helps give some friction, lessening the amount of filling that oozes out the back and sides when you take a bite. The filling is creamy, rich, and well seasoned. A pinch of something something to zhuz it up might be a nice option (maybe relish? Japanese curry powder? Furikake?), but as is it's a very solid basic egg sando. Besides the culinary side, at the current $10, it's reasonably priced. Chicken Caesar wrap: The salad tastes notably fresher than most other CCWs I've had and it's not too stem-y. It's close to what you'd get at a nice sit down restaurant, as opposed to some overdressed slop at a buffet table. Mine was a smidge light on the chicken, could've used a few more of the nicely seasoned croutons, and could've been rolled a bit tighter, but I would (and will) order it again. Service was friendly, feeling like a nice little neighborhood spot.
